Chapter 13: Ash's Super Training
After the incident with Team Rocket, Ash and Nemona both agreed that they needed to train harder in order to protect themselves more effectively.
"We need to make sure that we'll be strong enough for the chance that those crooks come back for us" Nemona commented, to which Ash replied with "Indeed, we can't predict when they'll strike next, we'll need the students to be ready for them when the time comes."
Ash had all of the students, including Arven come over to discuss what they will do for the day. "Ok class, ever since the Team Rocket incident, I feel it is time that we stepped up our training" Ash said with a firmness in his voice. "Why should we? You handled those crooks like a boss" Zeke said nonchalantly "Yes, but what if I'm not around?" That quickly shut Zeke up.
"So, starting right now I am implementing a tight training schedule to hopefully get both you and your Pokemon up to speed" Ash declared, which caused some groaning amongst his pupils. "Ugh, you're sounding like a drill sergeant right now" Felia groaned as she hunched over with her arms losing firmness.
"Strong trainers train rigorously, don't worry, you'll get used to it" Ash stated before sending out his Fuecoco, Wattrel, Primeape, and newly caught Nymble. "I will start you all off with endurance training, I want your Pokemon to withstand attacks that my Pokemon will send towards you."
"Ouch, that seems a bit mean" Carla "Is this what it really takes to be an expert trainer?" Thomas shuddered at how intense it was sounding. "Because you're relatively new, we'll start off with light attacks, Felia, have your bug types stand up.
Rellor and Vivillon then came forward, wondering what was going on. "Now Wattrel, I want you to use Peck repeatedly on Rellor and Vivillon to help build up their tolerance towards super effective attacks" Ash instructed, which Wattrel replied with a knowing "Watt" before flying towards the bug types with a glowing beak.
He then jabbed the two with Peck, which caused them to be knocked around like Hoppip in a very windy afternoon. After only a few Peck attacks,, they both fell down unconciouss.
"I'm starting to think this 'super' training isn't so super, just look how little it took for them to be knocked out" Felia said while looking for revives in her backpack. "That's because they aren't used to taking hits like this before, it will take time for them to be able to take super effective hits more effectively" Ash pointed before having Fuecoco stand up launch Ember attacks at Orthworm.
While Orthworm was able to more effectively withstand the attacks thanks to his larger size he was still wiped out rather easily. Considering that he doesn't have any grass or water types at the moment, he had Nemona and Arven stand in with their Sprigatito and Quaxly respectively.
Sprigatito launched her Leafage attacks at Veluza while Quaxly launched Water Gun attacks at Nacli. It wasn't long before all of the students' Pokemon were all wiped out quickly.
"Well, that was a spectacular failure" Gus spoke out before returning his Tadbulb and Capsakid. "Just be patient" Ash said "It takes a while for the results to make themselves apparent, for now, let's take a break and we will move on to the next part of our training.
As everyone proceeded to go take their breaks while Nemona and Ash wrote down the results of the endurance tests. "Well the first tests were rather lackluster, but that's to be expected" Nemona said to herself while Ash wrote on his clipboard. "You know what they saw Nemona, no pain, no gain" Ash told Nemona "True" she replied "But I think it's a little too early to have this type of rigorous training on inexperienced trainers."
"I know it may seem rough, but just you wait" Ash said, confident in his abilities to inspire as he is in his battle prowess.
Eventually, it was time for the students to enhance their Pokemon's attacking power, which means it was time for them to attack Ash's Pokemon.
"Oh man, I've been wanting to do this ever since your Wattrel pecked by bugs" Felia said with an evil grin on her face as she sends her two bug types to attack Wattrel. "Rellor, use Rollout, Vivillon, use Gust!" Felia shouted out, with Rellor slamming into Wattrel with his mud ball, sending the petrel to the ground dazed. Vivillon then flapped her wings to send a powerful gale towards the bird, but something seemed off.
The Gust attack didn't seem to harm Wattrel at all, in fact, it seemed to strengthen him. "What the?!" Exclaimed Felia, dumbfounded by the seeming lack of effectiveness of the attack. "I know electric types are resistant to flying attacks, but they shouldn't be immune" That was when Nemona came over with the answer "That's because Wattrel's ability is Wind Power, which allows for it to draw its power from wind based attacks" that was proven when Wattrel utilized the power of Gust to launch a powerful Air Cutter attack towards a nearby tree, slicing it in half.
"Woah..." Was all that Felia could utter at seeing the effects of the power boost at hand. Over at Gus, he was having Capsakid Bite repeatedly on Arven's Scovillain while he had Tadbulb practice upgrading his Thundershock attack into a Thunderbolt with the help of Ash's Pikachu and Nemona's Pawmot.
As they continued to help Tadbulb, Pawmot couldn't help but take notice of Pikachu, and she started to blush at the sheer power that the electric mouse had displayed when cleaving a nearby boulder with one swing of his Iron Tail attack. "Pawwwwmot" Was all she could utter until Pikachu heard her and turned towards her, and she immediately turned away, feeling embarrassed.
"Well, I think your Pawmot has a thing for Pikachu" Ash commented, which made Nemona giggle. "I think she likes how powerful Pikachu is, must be a ladies' mon" "Well she better watch out, cause there are a Buneary, Togedemaru, Sylveon, and Glaceon that are also after him" Ash replied, which made the two giggle.
Pikachu couldn't help but hear that and shudder at the amount of pokegirls that are after his tail, both figuratively and literally "Pika..." was all he could mutter.
Ash's Nymble was dodging attacks sent by Nemona's Lycanroc, who was hurling Rock Throw at the little grasshopper. But Nymble's name was very fitting, able to hop and jump out of the way of any rocks that came close to him.
However, he ended up getting a bit cocky and began to to wiggle his behind at Lycanroc, provoking her into slamming into the bug with Accellerock, sending him flying. "Hmm, it seems that Nymble is a bit of a hotshot as much as a fighter" Ash noted, which Nemona couldn't help but agree with.
Dodonzo was learning how to make larger Water Pulses and shoot them into the air, hoping that they would allow it to master Rain Dance in the future. Veluza meanwhile was using Fillet Away repedietely in hopes that it can build up a tolerance to the pain it generates.
Orthworm was in an all-out brawl with Primeape, whom he had trapped in his coils, but Primeape began to Thrash away at the flexible metal body, forcing Orthworm to let go and go in with Iron Tail.
Greedent was easily deflecting attacks from Nacli and Shroodle with his large body, but Shroodle got the devious idea to sneak around while the squirrel was gloating and bite him in the tail, making him shriek and run around. Garganacl was trying to hit Fuecoco, whom was training to be more agile, which was showing to be a work in progress as shown by the many close calls the fire croc experienced.
Quaxly and Sprigatito were both taking on Scovillain, which was giving them a hard time with his Flamethrower and Razor Leaf attacks, but teamwork makes the dreamwork in this case. Sprigatito distracted Scovillain with Leafage while Quaxly slammed into him with Wing Attacks and Aqua Jets, infuriating the pepper Pokemon.
At the end, every Pokemon was exhausted and weakened, but they could feel themselves improve by the intensity of their duels, and thus, the training has ended. "If this gets so intense, I'd hate to see what would happen if our Pokemon fully evolve" Thomas muttered while tending to his Clodsire, whom had scratch marks in his back curtesy of Sprigatito.
"Believe me Thomas, once you get the hang of it, it will be like second nature" Ash said as he kicked back after he finished bandaging Nymble from the large impact he received from Lycanroc.
Nymble then went over to his teammates, who were all talking to each other about the events in their lives so far. Primeape apparently was so bored of not being able to fight anyone but fighting types, that he begged Anthony to call Ash so he can return to him, yep, he was that desperate. Pikachu meanwhile told them about how he had defeated Leon's Charizard and helped Ash become the new World Champion, which all of his teammates looked on in disbelief, it was to be expected.
But little do they know that this sort of insanity was the sort of thing Ash experiences on a daily basis, and they'd better get used to it soon.
End of Chapter
To tell the truth, no I don't plan to recite the Team Rocket Motto, everyone worth their Nacli salt knows it at this point, so when Team Rocket appears, just play the motto in your head.
