Chapter 16: Ghimmighoul the goods
It was a standard day for Ash and his class, with all of them continuing to practice and hone their battle prowess so that they can be ready for the challenges that may approach them. Right now however, Ash decided it was time for some fun and allowed for his students and Pokemon to relax and play amongst themselves.
Pikachu, Eevee, Lycanroc, Pawmot, and Sprigatito were all seen playing tag with one another. Quaxly, Dodonzo, Vaporeon, Marill, Tadbulb, and Veluza were all splash fighting over at a pond. Greedent, Clodsire, Fuecoco, Scovillain, Dunsparce, and Garganacl were all seen napping. Wattrel and Vivillon were seen flying around. Nacli, Capsakid, Nymble, Fidough, Rellor, Orthworm were all seen playing a game of ball.
"Hmm, what other lessons should I teach teach them?" Ash was writing down possible lesson ideas onto his clipboard, hoping that they could help them to develop into more capable battlers. "I could have them do more endurance training, although they probably wouldn't like that, I could also help them with their moves, Vanny's Orthworm could use some polish on his Flash Cannon attack" Ash muttered to himself.
As he continued to write down possible ideas, he didn't realize that a nearby treasure chest was itching closer to him until it bumped into him, which resulted in him giving out a 'Huh?" He looked down to see the treasure chest, and he was confused "Wonder how this got here" Ash muttered before placing the chest beside him as he continued his work.
Nacli managed to slam the ball, but he did rather hardly, which caused it to roll over to where the chest was. Sweat dropping, he bounced over there to retrieve it, but it was nowhere to be seen. "Nacli? Nac?" The other Pokemon arrived over to see where the ball was, and they were also confused.
"Hey!" Shouted a very annoyed Arven "Where are my cooking utensils!?" "Don't look at me I was here the whole time" Gus said while looking at his Rotom Phone "Oh yeah" Replied Zeke "Then explain how my flute went missing" He pointed to his open bag, which was missing his flute "Now how will I pass my music class?"
"Ok ok that's enough" Ash stated to get everyone to calm down "I know these turns seem odd but we will get to the bottom of this, Nemona, did you see anything odd?" Ash asked his assistant, whom shook her head "Nope, nothing was out of the ordinary" she replied. "This is a real bind we're all in" Thomas added, until he noticed something was odd.
"Say Ash, was that treasure chest always there?" He said pointing to it "Well it ended up bumping into me while I was taking notes so I guess you could say its odd." All of a sudden, it began to hop away, with items like the ball, Arven's utensils, and Zeke's flute popping out of it. "Don't let it get away" Vanny shouted as they ran after it.
The chest proved to be a very quick and evasive little thing as it always seemed to know which way to dodge out of a grab attempt, and also knows where to jump, as if it was a goalie that always stopped the ball from getting into the net.
Eventually however, Pikachu managed to hop in front of it, but it merely jumped to the side again, only for Orthworm to pop up from the ground in front of, and with Garganacl and Greedent behind it, it was effectively surrounded.
The group was about to pounce on it, when a familiar trio appeared.
"There it is, that's the creep that took my hairbrush!" Jessie shouted with fire in her eyes. "Yeah, that thing was the fiend that stole my bottle caps" James yelled "And my charm polish too!" Meowth screeched, only to be pushed aside by the iconic Wobbuffet of the group "Woooooobbu!"
That was when the chest opened, and a small humanoid creature popped its head out and glared at Team Rocket. "What's that Pokemon?" Ash said as he pulled out his Rotom Phone.
Gimmighoul: The Coin Chest Pokemon, a ghost type
It lives inside an old treasure chest, it sucks the life-force of those who would try to steal its treasure
"Well it's gonna regret stealing form us" Meowth roared as he lengthened his claws with a pitch black energy. "Night Slash!" Meowth shouted as he slashed at the chest, dealing super effective damage to the ghsot type.
"Well well, looks like Meowth learned a few new tricks" Ash said in a somewhat impressed tone. "That ain't all I learned twerp, check this out" That was when Meowth's body became surrounded by electricity, which then fired at Gimmighoul, knocking it down.
"Well what do you know, Meowth is a copycat" Ash stated, to which Pikachu face palmed at the pun. "Now is my chance" Jessie stated as she took out a pokeball, then threw it at Gimmighoul, whom was then turned into red energy and sucked inside. After a few shakes, the ball dinged, signifying capture "And let that be a lesson to you, don't you ever steal from Team Rocket" Jessie proclaimed as she held the ball containing her new Pokemon.
"Now then, Team Rocket is blasting off to fight another day!" Meowth shouted as he threw down a smoke bomb, and when the smoke cleared, they were nowhere to be found.
"Well, I'm just glad to get my flute back" Zeke stated "Yeah, those loons actually did us a favor" Felia remarked. "Don't get too used to it" Ash stated as they went back to their area.
Back with Team Rocket, Jessie was inspecting her latest catch and proceeded to let it out, but this proved to be a rather big mistake as as soon as it got out, it proceeded to start stealing everything that Team Rocket had.
"Hey, give that back!" James shouted as the greedy ghost made off with his bottle caps yet again. "Why do I have the feeling you just caught the next Lickitung?" Meowth muttered to himself as Wobbuffet appeared again, letting out its signature cry.

A short one compared to the more recent chapters, but they don't have to be a hundred thousand words long do they?
