Author: Pyrite

Warning(s): Lemon, Oral Sex, Partial Nudity, Nudity, Almost Rape, Drunkenness.

Disclaimer: There are several new original characters besides Michelle, so they are copyright myself. Erik, of course, is copyright Leroux and Andrew Lloyd Webber. This version of the story is based towards the 2004 movie. I like Gerry's version.

Summary: Five years after the tragedy, the Opera Populaire is rebuilt and a ballet troupe from Bordeaux comes to perform at the grand opening. Erik, however, has not left as some might think. Although, he has never had an interest in ballerinas, one catches his eye as the troupe performs a brand-new ballet. Is she the one or will destiny repeat itself?

Author's Note: This story has been in my mind for a long time. I wanted to rewrite this for a long time. Yes, rewrite the rewrite. And this will be the last time. I felt that I wanted to make a more creative fanfiction, and this will be a more creative one. I really have a great plot, but it's hard to describe in the summary. I hope you like the new story and just bear with me.

Chapter One

Five years had passed...five long years of rebuilding the Opera Populaire. The managers had first thought that they were ruined, but after going back to their scrap metal business and earning more money, they returned to the opera house and rebuilt it slowly till it finally was restored to its glory. The Opera Ghost was gone...at least they thought. He was still there only beneath the opera house and in a different location.

Opening day was approaching quickly and the hustle and bustle of the opera house started up. Madame Giry had returned and had taken up her old post of ballet mistress. Today, they were welcoming a ballet troupe from Bordeaux. One to perform a new and popular ballet called The Seven Sins. It was about a man who was tempted by the seven sins in human form but who is saved by an angel in the end. For some reason, everyone who saw it loved it. The Opera Populaire could use this as a boost for their opening night.

Madame Giry looked up as she heard the door open to the theater. "And this is the theater where you will be performing on." Monsieur Andre announced as he led nine performers down the aisle. "Ah this is Madame Giry. She will take care of you."

The older woman narrowed her eyes at the manager then said, "You will report to me if you need anything. Since you are guests, we have single rooms for you. They are already assigned."

"Good! May I introduce you to our cast. Blaise plays the man who is confronted by the sins. Francis plays Greed, Noel plays Envy, Gustave plays Pride, Henri plays Wrath, Leon plays Gluttony, Michelle plays Lust, and Phillipe plays Sloth. Finally, Amie plays the angel." Andre explained to the older woman.

Everyone greeted Madame Giry, but she noticed Michelle was the only one who curtsied and nodded her head while greeting her. She had heard of the Michelle's family. The de Chatillion's were a rich family that owned a winery and several vineyards in Bordeaux. Her family had been in winemaking for at least three generations. However, she didn't know why the beautiful girl had chosen to be a ballerina. She would be a very wonderful addition to the opera house though.

A young blonde girl walked up beside Madame Giry and smiled at them. "This is my daughter Meg Giry. She will also be assisting you."

"Your bedrooms are ready, and it is nice to meet you all." Meg greeted them.

Again, everyone made greetings and Michelle did the same as before. Madame Giry felt that she would enjoy the girl's company once she got to know her. "Why don't you take them back to their bedrooms? We will then take them on a tour of the opera house."

Meg nodded at her mother. "Please follow me. I will take you to your rooms."

Madame Giry watched Meg take the troupe away then turned to Andre. "Are you insane?"

Andre turned to her and asked, "What do you mean Madame?"

"You do know that is Michelle de Chatillion...the daughter of the famous winemaker? We have to keep a very good eye on her."

"She's not a baby Madame. She'll be fine and she will not be out alone. She has her friends from her troupe."

"That's not why I am concerned Monsieur Andre. The part she plays is very sexualized and I am sure we will have a lot of men attending the opening."

Andre waved a hand to dismiss her worries, "Michelle is a main attraction. In fact, we have her on one of the featured posters outside. This ballet is going to bring us big money after the disaster of five years ago."

Madame Giry sighed; she knew that she couldn't argue anymore. She only could watch the younger girl. Right now, she had business to attend to and that included giving their new guests a tour of the opera house and welcoming them to Paris. She walked away from the manager and headed towards the backstage.

Erik looked down at the stage as the new ballet troupe began to say, "So those are the new members to our family?"

"Yes." Antoinette said as she eyed the members below. They were beginning to start a dress rehearsal. "I don't know if I really am too excited about this."

Erik glanced towards his friend...the only friend he had left in the world. She was speaking cryptically, and he didn't like that. Normally, she would at least show some modicum of excitement or interest. What would hinder her from taking interest in this ballet? "Why? I have to admit that I am not exactly excited as well, but if this so-called new ballet is as popular as they say it is, then the opera house should have a good start."

Antoinette pointed to Michelle who was wearing a rather enticing dark maroon and crimson two-piece. The top was cropped in a way that it exposed the top of her breasts slightly. As for the bottom, on either side, two slits ran up all the way to the top of her thigh. Her blonde hair was pinned back in some places, but there were enough curls spilling over her shoulders and breasts to make it understood why she had been chosen as 'Lust.'

"Who is she?" He asked curiously.

"The daughter of a very rich man who happens to own a winery and several vineyards. I am concerned Erik. There are nine roles in this play, and none is more dangerous than the one Michelle plays. I think you know why."

"Even I am not stupid Antoinette. Once the men in the audience see her, they will be clamoring like idiots to get her attention."

"What's worse Erik...what if they go out to celebrate and she is assaulted? Her father will sue the opera house. It is said that if anything were to happen to her capability to make money as a ballerina he would sue."

Erik scoffed, "He's a rich man yet wants his daughter to make money. Sounds like a miser."

Antoinette threw a glare at him, "You don't understand you idiot! Michelle confided in me that it was her passion to be a ballerina and that her father wanted her to do as she wishes. So, if anything is to come in between what she wishes then he will sue."

"We don't want that. Especially after the opera house has been rebuilt." He paused to think. "I'll keep an eye on her. Don't worry Antoinette. No harassment. I don't want the managers to know I am alive." He replied with a laugh.

"Good. I must go back. Keep your word Erik."

He watched as she walked away then turned to watch as the dress rehearsal began. His eyes focused on the blonde-haired ballerina and wondered to himself what exactly made her so special in Antoinette's eyes. After these five years of hiding away in the bowels of the opera house and making a new home he hadn't dare make a new friend. Antoinette had been the only one to stay beside him. Could a change be coming at last? Erik smiled to himself as he looked down again and thought, 'Both stupid and smart to have her play Lust.'

Michelle entered her room after taking a warm bath. She had needed it. Her muscles had been sore from a dress rehearsal and travelling a week on the road. After locking the door behind her, she thought on the day's events while pulling out a chair to a small desk. The Opera Populaire was a huge opera house. Much bigger than any place that their ballet troupe had been at before. It was so nerve-wracking and worrisome at the same time. She had performed their ballet to perfection, but for some reason, she felt she was being watched by someone or something.

Once dress rehearsal was over, they all went and changed back to their regular clothes and ate dinner served by the cook from the opera house. The others said they wanted to go out the next day and go shopping. She still couldn't get over the feeling of being watched. However, it was probably nerves and afterwards it disappeared when she went to the bathroom.

Michelle rummaged through a bag and withdrew an envelope and writing paper. She promised her father that she would write him once she arrived at Paris. If she didn't then he would worry, and she didn't want that. Tomorrow, she would send it out immediately...and she was sure that all the worries and jitters would be over. After all, their first performance was in three days, and it had to be perfect. She had to be perfect.

Author's Note:

So, this chapter is a bit short. I know. I'm introducing you to the POVs of the different characters and some of the different characters themselves. So please give me time. Review if you like. You don't have to. I'd appreciate it. I hope you enjoy the beginning of my final recreation.
