Sister Fanfic: Serious Side Reels - A Grand Order of Heroes Sidestories
It was another freezing day in the Chaldea security organization. One of a few that Gudao had to fully relax after a mission.
Sadly, Christmas and even New Year's had come and gone, and he did not have a chance to celebrate them normally. He had been in the middle of a mission after all and would not have been appropriate to take a day off while Geronimo and everyone were trying their hardest to fix the singularity.
Now that everything was said and done, he and everyone could finally take some time to catch up on a good night's rest.
Gudao was walking down the corridor and noticed Karna Santa nearby, "Hey Karna Santa!"
Karna Santa turned to look at him, a jolly smile on his face, "Hello Master Gudao, it's nice to see you."
Gudao looked to the giant pile of black presents, Hellfire Crystals, and summoning tickets, "are those the presents left over from the last Christmas event?"
The fledgling servant's smile dropped, and his posture turned slightly tenser, "As a matter of fact, they are. I was just about to put them away for next year's Christmas event."
Gudao felt like he could take a chance, "Then… Do you mind if I-"
Karna Santa cut him off with a terse, "No."
He didn't elaborate, nor did he say anything, he just stood there, watching him wearily.
"Do you mean you don't mind if I take them or that you do?"
Karna Santa's eyes narrowed, "What I mean to say is that Christmas is over Master. You already received your present. If you want more, you will have to wait until the next Christmas event."
That much was true, even when he and the team couldn't celebrate Christmas normally, they all still managed to receive presents, even himself.
On the other hand, it wasn't the first time a random servant had shown up in an 'event' and restricted crucial supplies from them.
It was always a disappointing eventuality, but it was one Gudao and Gudako just learned to tolerate. Demanding or forcing charitable servants into giving them more stuff without paying their event's currencies would likely end up causing them to just not give anything later.
Gudako and Him decided it was best just to play along with their games and reap the benefits as much as they possibly could.
Still, it wouldn't hurt to ask anyway. It seemed like a waste to leave these resources alone to sit in storage without use, especially when they were so close to the end.
"Are you sure? You seem to have a lot of leftovers."
Suddenly, the pale servant was in front of him, his eyes staring deep into his soul, "I am as sure as my fist on your face if you continue to try and cheat your way into getting more presents."
Gudao swallowed a gulp of air, "Geez, point taken."
Karna Santa huffs in annoyance before lifting his bag of black presents on his shoulders and walking away, but not before pulling out a list and a black pen.
He looked back at him with squinted eyes before they went back to the paper and he wrote something down.
'I wonder what he's writing there?'
Karna Santa finished writing on his list before grabbing his large sack of presents and making his way down the corridor.
As soon as he made a left and disappeared from view, a black-haired woman with pigtails and a scantily clad outfit came from the right.
Space Ishtar stared at the departing Karna Santa for a moment before she continued her walk behind Karna Santa.
Gudao smiled, clearly surprised at the new face, "Oh sweet, Gudako managed to summon her this year. Maybe I can get my own. I need to go find Mashu.

"Sorry, senpai, but the Saber Wars event ended a week ago."
Gudao hung his head in disappointment, "Oh Well, at least Gudako managed to nab the banner servants. Though I kind of wish Spishtar would have let us enter her event this year."
"No can do, Master~" Speak of the devil and she shall appear.
Spishtar was currently sitting on a chair next to them, her hands resting under her chin. Her toothy grin was laced with playful smugness, and it only served to annoy Gudao more.
She turned to face him, "You are still in phase one of the story. I cannot allow you to join my limited-time event until you beat Solomon's temple."
Gudao released a sigh of disappointment, "Talk about high standards. Okay, I suppose I can… wait a minute. Do you know where Solomon's temple is located?!"
Spishtar suddenly felt beads of sweat fall from her forehead, "n-no?"
Spishtar's face turned red when Gudao got closer to her face,"please, we need to know where it is!"
Spishtar could no longer handle being so close to Gudao and pushed him away, "Sorry! But that would be spoilers! Later alligator!"
And with that, she left.
Gudao for the millionth time that day was left disappointed.
Author's Note: Sorry for the short update. Chapter 12 is almost done, I just need another night to let my brain rest so that I can give it a proper reading and grammar check.
It should have it out by tomorrow.
