Goku & Bulma flew towards North City, Bulma was explaining the phone call. By the time they arrived at the Police Station, Goku felt just as angry. He had a nearly five year old son and Chi-Chi had never even attempted to tell him. Goku and Bulma walked into the station, Bulma went to the front counter and said "Sergeant Johnson asked us here.". The receptionist asked "What are your names?". Bulma answered "Son Goku and Bulma Brief.". The receptionist nodded and picked up the phone. A few minutes later, a uniformed officer walked in and came up to them. "Mister Son? Missus Briefs? I am Sergeant Johnson, could you follow me please?". He led them upstairs to his office. Once they all sat down, Johnson said "Mister Son, the main reason I realised that the boy must be a relation of yours is because of the tail. I saw you fight at the World Martial Arts Tournament, a boy with a monkey tail is not something you forget in a hurry.". Bulma said "Not trying to be rude but where is he?". Johnson said "He is here in the station, he stayed in hospital overnight, right now I have an officer from the Child Safety Unit talking to him, once they are done, you can take him home.". Bulma asked "Mind if i call my parents? So they can get a room ready for him?". Johnson answered "Of course, feel free to use my phone, I need to talk to your husband some more anyway.". Johnson led Goku out of the office and into a side room. He looked at Goku and said "I don't have to tell you that your son has had a very bad life. Gohan-". Goku looked stunned and asked "She named him Gohan?!". Johnson asked "Does that name mean something to you?". Goku, struggling to control the rage he felt said "Gohan was the name of my grandpa, the man who raised me, taught me Martial Arts, for her to abuse his namesake, its beyond horrific.". Johnson said sadly "Gohan shows signs of heavy physical abuse as well as sexual abuse. I have seen injuries like his on victims before, on rape victims.". At this point, Goku was on the verge of going berserk. Bulma walked in and seeing just how enraged her husband was brought him in for hug and said "Mum and dad are making up a room for him as we speak, they were horrified when I told them.". Goku said in a strained voice "She named him Gohan, she named him after grandpa."
Johnson opened a door and led Goku into a small room. There was a table with what looked like the remains of a sandwich, sitting at that table, was Gohan. He looked shellshocked, like he couldn't believe any of the events of the past twenty four hours were real. Goku walked up to the table slowly and said in a soft voice "Hello Gohan, my name is Goku.". Gohan said in a subdued voice "Mum always said my dad was a useless bum named Goku, are you my dad?". Goku answered "Yes, I am. I didn't know that you existed, she never once tried to tell me. I am so sorry.". Gohan asked "What will happen to me now?". Goku answered "The Police have said that I can take you back to my house once I sign some forms.". Gohan said softly "Mum said that you are a useless bum, but you are here. I may only be a kid, but I know a useless bum would not have come.". Goku was shocked at just how intelligent Gohan's words were.
Goku came out and asked Johnson "How did you find out about what was happening to Gohan?". Johnson answered "We recieved complaints from the neigbours, plus his school has sent multiple reports to the Child Safety Unit. Several of his teachers saw signs of extreme abuse.". Bulma then asked "Will Gohan have to testify?". Johnson shook his head "We have enough forensic evidence, between that and the reports we have, its more than enough to nail both of them
An hour later, Goku carried Gohan in his arms to the jet copter with Bulma. They flew in silence back to Capsule Corp, once they arrived, Goku put Gohan straight to bed. He went out into the loungeroom to talk to his wife and in laws. Doctor Brief looked at Goku and said "I am so sorry Goku, I wish there was something I could say or do to help.". Goku answered "Just letting us bring him back here was a huge help, thanks.". Doctor Brief smiled and said "You're part of this family Goku and he is your son, that means he is also part of this family. And in this family, we look out for eachother.". Bulma's mother, Bikini, normally very ditzy and air headed said "Tomorrow, we will see about getting him some counselling, you should also call the doctor, get him to give Gohan a thorough exam.". Bulma then said "Goku, might I also suggest you take Gohan to do some clothes shopping, I had a quick look through the clothes that he has with him, they look pretty raggedy.". Goku nodded his head and said "Yeah, I can do that, in the meantime, I still have some of my old childhood clothes, they should fit him.
