The next morning, Gohan woke up and looked around the room, the furnishings looked really expensive, and the bed was really comfortable. He spotted an outift on a hanger on the doorknob, judging by the size, he guessed it was for him. He got dressed and opened the door. Soon as that happened, he smelt something delicious, so he followed the smells. He came to what looked like a dining room. He saw a table and sitting at that table, was his dad. He nervously approached when Goku saw him. Goku smiled and said "Sit down! Breakfast will be up soon, Bikini is a really good cook!". Gohan said quietly "Good morning dad, umm what is this place?". Goku answered "This is where I live with Bulma, you met her yesterday. Bikini is Bulma's mum.". Bulma walked in and saw Gohan, she said "Good morning Gohan, how are you feeling?". Gohan answered meekly "I'm ok I guess, just a little curious.". Bulma asked "What about?". Gohan said "I know who you are, you are Bulma Brief, your family is supposed to be the richest in the world, so how do you know my dad and how did you end up marrying him?". Bulma, choosing her words carefully said "I met your dad when I was a teenager, I was involved in a treasure hunt of sorts. He had in his possession something I needed. I was tracking that item and not paying attention to the road, next moment, I hit him with my car! Everything just sort of took off from there. We became lifelong friends. And later, after him and your mum split, we became something more.". Gohan said "Mum always said that he was just a useless bum that only knew how to fight.". Bulma shook her head and smiled saying "He is so much more than that, he is one of the kindest men I have ever known. Most men want to know me because my family is loaded. He is absolutely clueless about money! When I tried to explain money to him as a kid, his eyes glazed over and he fell asleep. He has not changed at all, even as an adult. When I saw that, thats when I realised I wanted to marry him. Thats the kind of man your dad is."
Gohan, hearing all this about his dad, thought to himself "Maybe I can be a man like that. He does seem a bit stupid, but I don't get the sense that hes a mean sort of person.". Gohan asked his father "Why did you and mum split?". At once, the carefree expression disappeared and Goku looked really sad "Well Gohan, the night before we got married, your mum did some stuff with some other men, things she was never supposed to do. I found out about it a month later. We divorced soon afterwards.". Bikini in all her ditzy glory chose that moment to walk in. She looked at Gohan and said "I'm Bikini, Bulmas mum, it's very nice to meet you Gohan.". Bikini then turned to Goku and asked "Goku, would you mind helping me carry the food out?". Goku's face instantly lit up and he said "Sure Bikini!". Goku followed Bikini back into the kitchen, leaving Gohan alone with Bulma. Gohan asked Bulma "Is he always like that?". Bulma, confused asks "Like what?". Gohan clarified "He seemed so sad, but the instant your mum mentioned that the food was ready, he instantly cheered up.". Bulma chuckled and said "Your dad loves to eat, no word of a joke, i once watched him eat fifty seven full course meals, and he still had room for desert!". Goku and Bikini walked in at that moment with enormous trays laden down with bacon, eggs, sausages, fried tomatoes and toast. After putting a plateful in front of Gohan, Goku loaded up his plate and said "Hey Gohan, dig in, eat as much as you want!". The next half hour for Gohan was incredible, he had never been allowed to eat as much as he wanted. Before he knew it, he had eaten thirty plates of food. Bikini was stoked that he was enjoying the food, while Doctor Brief and Bulma just watched, Bulma thought to herself "He is definitely Goku's son, who else could eat like that?!".
After breakfast, Gohan offered to help with the dishes, but Bikini told him to relax. Goku looked at Gohan and asked "So Gohan, how would you feel about going out with me today and getting some clothes?". Gohan asked "Would that be ok? Mum used to yell at me when I asked for new clothes.". Goku said "Well I won't, just need to find my wallet, then we can get going.". Goku wandered off and Bulma said to Gohan "You know, your dad was wearing that exact outfit when we first met.". Gohan gave a small smile. Goku came back and said "Ok kiddo, lets go. Theres a car waiting downstairs to take us to the shopping center!"
Fifteen minutes later, Goku and Gohan got out of the car and walked into the West City Central Shopping Center. Gohan felt amazed, seeing all the shops around him. Goku led him to a clothing store, where a female shop assistant came up to them and said "Welcome, how may I help you?". Goku said "Need to get some clothes for my son.". An hour later, they walked out of the store with several large bags of clothes. Gohan said "Thanks dad, I hope that you didn't have to spend too much money on all this.". Goku laughed and said "Nah, I work for Bulma's dad, doing heavy lifting round his lab. But all my needs are taken care of anyways, so its nice to have something to spend my pay on.". All of a sudden, a voice yelled "HEY GOKU!". They turned around saw a short, bald man running up to them, Goku's face lit up. "Hey Krillin, how are you?". Krillin said "I'm good, I'm just glad that you survived Bulma's anger. Who's the kid bro?". Gohan answered nervously "My name is Gohan.". Krillin said "Nice to meet ya, say Goku, wasn't that your grandpas name?". Goku nodded his head and said "Its a long story Krillin, me and Gohan are just about to head home for some lunch, why don't you join us? I'll explain afterwards.".
Goku got Bikini to take Gohan into the kitchen to help her bake a cake and make lunch. Goku told Krillin Gohan's story. Afterwards, Krillin said "I thought I had it rough when I took all that crap at Orin Temple when I was a kid. But Gohan has had it far worse. Goku, I am not going to tell you how to raise him, but it might be a good idea to train him. Best thing you can do is teach him how to stand up for himself, so he's never that powerless again. He's your son, so he should be a chip off the old block.". Goku's face lit up and he said "Yeah Krillin, that's an awesome idea, I'll talk to Master Roshi. Ask for his help in coming up with a training schedule!".
