Author's Note from Mat49324: Hey, everybody! Would you believe that I got an inspiration for another TS one-shot? Well, this time, I decided on it not being anything too flashy if you know what I mean? If not, then some examples are the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (Totally Ice Cold), getting home in time for the holidays (Hawaiian Holiday Hijinks), etc. I've also done some other one-shots with some other typical fun stuff like a car wash (All Washed Up), pool cleaning (Aquatic Antics), etc. For now, here's The Blue Time Ranger if he's got something he'd like to say.
Author's Note from The Blue Time Ranger: Well, well, it looks like we've got a sort-of sequel to Future Frenzy, huh? It's good to know that the little things will still be there, even twenty-one years into the future. Also, this is co-op number ninety-seven for both of us! We're so freakin' close to the big milestone! How about we get this futuristic beach day underway and ROLL IT!
Title: Some Things Never Change
Summary: The spies of the future get family time and nothing is better than a beach day... right?

1:38 P.M. – Santa Monica Beach
("Door Into Summer" by Junko Shiratsu plays)
It was another good day in the future, and the future spies knew there was no better place to be than Santa Monica Beach (despite they do have a pool at their beach house).
Future Nick and Future Alex were getting lunch for everyone, as was Future Britney; the other two families were relaxing at the beach – Future Sam and Future Clover with their new babies.
"I couldn't stand being cooped indoors for one more day," Future Sam told the others.
"I hear ya, Sammy," Future Clover quipped. "I have been meaning to give my baby some fresh air, but I keep getting sidetracked."
Future Sam was also coddling her new baby herself with Future Mat by her side. She then put her little one on her lap so she could see the ocean.
"At least our first future kids are already grown," Future Mat commented.
"I hear ya," Future Sam replied.
"I still feel like I got left behind a bit," Future Clover told them.
"Well, to be fair, you HAVE gone through your fair share of boys since Bev High, Clover," Future Sam stated.
"Until Blaine came along," Future Mat added.
"Yeah, I suppose..." Future Clover stated.
"I wouldn't trade her for anything myself," Future Blaine laughed.
"Aww, Blainey..." Future Clover giggled.
Future Sam looked on at Kana and Klee playing with each other near the shoreline.
"H-hey, hey, no fair using your powers, Klee!" Kana sputtered as Klee splashed her.
"You never said I couldn't," Klee laughed.
In retaliation, Kana splashed Klee with a much bigger splash that distracted Klee just enough for Kana to dive forward and send them both crashing back into the water.
"Oh, looks like they're coming back with our lunches," Future Mat told the others.
"You'd be right, bro," Future Nick replied.
"Oh, thank you, Britney," Future Mat sighed over his own lunch coming.
"But nonetheless, we did promise Klee we'd go in the water with her," Future Alex giggled.
She sat down while keeping her own new baby snug in her hands-free device to keep her baby Anya in.
"Oh, I think Mama's back with lunch," Klee told Kana.
"Just in time!" Kana laughed.
Future Nick couldn't help but smile at Anya, the memories of his time in the Forgotten Land still coursing through his mind.
"I think I can guess what's on your mind, honey," Future Alex quipped.
"I still can't believe it's actually her," Future Nick responded. "I honestly thought I'd never see her again after all of that..."
"She did say she'd always be with you," Future Alex replied. "I guess that was just her way of showing it."
Future Nick remembered the moment Anya had been born, the first time he'd glimpsed into her eyes, and he could immediately feel that pull, that connection that Future Nick knew so well.
Before Future Nick could reflect on the past, a splash of water drenched both him and Future Alex, causing them to both spin around and notice Klee standing there, a big grin on her face.
"Hey, we did say we'd have some fun in the water," Future Alex chuckled.
"Let's do it, sweetie!" Future Nick proclaimed as the two of them rushed to join their daughter in the water.
All in all, the spies were glad to be enjoying a day at the beach, also happy to see that spending beach time hadn't really changed even after twenty-one years.
Future Sam looked down at her baby and couldn't help but smile herself.
"I often wonder how I got so lucky," Future Sam sighed in happiness, even as Future Mat leaned over to kiss her on the cheek.
"I ask myself the same thing a lot," Future Mat responded. "But I look at you and our kids, and I know for a fact that I wouldn't change a thing."
"Oh, you," Future Sam giggled as she and her husband moved to join everyone else for lunch.
Kana let Klee be with her parents and came in for lunch of her own.
"Hungry, hon?" Future Mat asked Kana.
"Yeah, you bet, Dad," Kana giggled.
"Hey, sweetie, your lunch is here," Future Sam told Kana.
"Thanks, mom!" Kana replied as she dug in to her lunch. "Ah, you make the best sandwiches, mom."
"I do, don't I?" Future Sam giggled.
She started eating and Future Mat kept her comfortable; Future Britney was there, too.
"Wow, you worked up an appetite," Future Mat commented at Kana.
She nodded and grinned.
"So, we haven't heard about your new baby, Sam," Future Clover replied.
"Yeah, we just know you named her Molly," Future Britney replied.
"But one thing's for sure..." Future Clover commented. "She looks an awful lot like you, Sam..."
"She sure does," Future Sam answered.
"I won't disagree there," Future Mat replied as he gave Molly a tickle under her chin.
"Hey, you got all wet, huh?" Future Britney giggled as Future Nick, Future Alex and Klee all came back from the water.
"Yeah, I got papa with that old up-and-over you all liked to do," Klee laughed.
"You'd think after all this time, I would see it coming," Future Nick quipped.
"That water is great, ya know?" Future Alex giggled.
"No doubt," Future Nick added.
"We'll have our turn later," Future Mat grinned as they ate their lunches.
"Thanks, dad, I was going to ask that later," Kana giggled.
"Once again, I must reiterate that it is a gorgeous day out here!" Future Clover proclaimed. "I'm so glad that hasn't changed for so long..."
"Tell me about it," Future Britney chuckled. "I'm sure we've got our own part in that, when you stop and think about it."
"Yeah, no matter how many dastardly baddies pop up to disrupt our peace, we still stomp 'em every single time," Future Alex responded.
"We fight to protect this world," Future Blaine stated. "That's how it's always been."
"So we can keep this world peaceful, both for us and our kids," Future Sam stated.
"My sentiments exactly, my love," Future Mat responded.
"I literally could have not said it better myself, Sammy," Future Nick quipped.
"Yeah, that's what being a spy is all about!" Klee proclaimed.
"Fighting bad guys to protect the present, the past, and the future!" Kana laughed.
As if on cue, both Molly and Anya made a cute squeaky noise in response, almost as if they agreed.
"Glad to see you agree with us, huh, Anya?" Future Nick chuckled.
"Well, I think it's our turn to have some fun in the water," Future Mat stated as Future Sam handed Molly off to Future Britney so they could head to the water with Kana.
"Race ya there, dad!" Kana laughed as she ran back to the water, her parents following close behind.
All in all, it was a wonderful family day at the beach for the spies of the future. They knew not to take moments like this for granted, after all.

Final Author's Note from Mat49324: Well, that's all for this one-shot. I didn't have anything flashy in mind this time, but sometimes it's good to just have a "laid-back" occasion here... right? Anyway, we hope you liked this one, and here's The Blue Time Ranger for his final thoughts.
Final Author's Note from The Blue Time Ranger: And that's a wrap! Bit of a shorter one, but hey, shorties can be goodies, as I like to say. We're almost at the big triple-digit number, too, so I can't wait to see what the big one will be.
And that's all I've got, so until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, and we'll see you next mission!
