Chapter 7: Wave Goodbye part 2

"Tommy! This was NOT a good idea!" Kate cried out.

"I realize that!" he yelled back at her as things started to fly around the lab. Kate was trying to tame one of the rino rides along side Tommy.

Then they heard someone coming in through the front door.

"Don't come in! It's not safe!" Tommy yelled.

"Yeah, we kinda got that," Kira said, realizing the crazy stuff that was being flown about in the room.

Tommy and Kate suddenly flew out and then down on their stomachs. "Oof." Kate sighed in a huff. "Owe…" Kate grunted and then attempted to pull herself up. Tommy picked himself up as well and went to help her up off the ground.

"You okay?" Tommy asked her.

"Oh yeah, just peachy," she said, brushing her brown hair back into place.

"Is that was in those eggs?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah, we're trying to train them," Tommy replied.

"How's it coming?"

"Uh, slowly," Tommy said. Kate grabbed Tommy's shirt and ducked as soon as she saw the red tail heading for their heads. "Very slowly."

"I can see that you're busy with your well, whatever, but, I need to talk," Conner said.

Just then the red tail smacked Tommy right in the back of the head causing him to fall flat on his face. Kate gasped and grabbed the other three back into the room where it was less hazardous.

"Guess I can take a break," Tommy said.

"Yeah that'd be best," Kate nodded and helped him up off the ground with Ethan's help. Of course she wished she hadn't because she got sticky goo on her hands. She wiped it off of her jeans the best she could.

"You gotta find someone to replace me," Conner said.

"What are you talking about?" Kira asked

"You are talking crazy!" Ethan cried.

"Okay, settle down you two," Tommy said calmly. "What's the problem?"

"What's going on?" Kate asked.

Conner sighed. "Well, you're always telling me to follow my dreams, Miss M, and well….look, I'm a soccer player. That's all I've ever wanted to do. Every moment of my life has been playing for a pro team. And I get the greatest chance of my life, and I blow it."

"I understand," Tommy said. "And you're right."

"You're agreeing with him?" Ethan asked a little outraged.

"Conner, I know how you feel," Tommy said. "Cause I felt that way before. I want you to think about this before you do anything."

"Look, I've got things I want to do, but I'm here, I'm dealing," Kira said.

"Good for you," Conner said. "I guess I'm just different."

Then like out of nowhere he just left.

"Whoa, and I thought the red guy was supposed to be the leader," Ethan said.

Kate brought over a cup of coffee to Tommy's desk. He was researching the city on his computer when she got there. She saw a monster on the screen terrorizing the citizens of Reefside. It made her heart lurch against her chest.

"What's that thing?" she asked.

"Chaos," Tommy replied. "Not good. Guys we have a situation. There's a monster attacking the city. People are in danger."

Tommy and Kate watched the fight on screen. "I wish I could be out there helping them."

"Yeah, me too, but they'll be fine," Tommy said. He had the utmost faith in them.

"We'll never catch him," Conner said.

"You can meet the rino rapters," Tommy said over the comlink,

They fought the monster, but the pieces on the ground turned into an even bigger monster.

"Dr. O, we may have a problem on our hands," Conner said.

"Let me guess, a three story version of that guy you were just fighting?" Tommy asked.

"You've done this before, haven't you?" Ethan asked.

"Once or twice," Tommy said.

Kate glanced at him with wonder. Wow. She had her suspicions. She never thought she'd be right.

"I'm sending in the dino zords," Tommy said.

The dino zords came together and together the rangers finally destroyed the monster. Kate sighed with relief when it was finally over.

"Just another day at the office," Tommy said, making her laugh. "Come on, let's go to Haley's cyberspace. There's something I want to share with you all."

"Okay,"

Kate grabbed her jacket and pulled it over her pink top. They got out of the lab and walked up the stairs, heading for his jeep to head into town.

"I think Kira's supposed to play tonight," she said once they got out of the jeep. They started walking down the alleyway.

"Awesome," Tommy said.

"Can't wait to meet Haley too." Kate said, then suddenly a bunch of tyranodrones stopped them in mid-trek. Tommy put a protective arm out in front of Kate.

Then they looked behind them and saw Zeltrax with another set of tyrandrones that seemed to have formed a circle around them.

"What do we do?" Kate asked, terrified.

Two grabbed Tommy before he could even think of what to do and two more grabbed Kate. She screamed. "Get off me!"

But it was too late. They shot up into the invisaportal.
