Ch2 - A guide to movies

Disclaimer, I don't own any of the characters from OUAT.

I woke up this morning feeling better than I had in a while, I'm sure my mom would say something along the lines of 'being married will do that to you'

My mom explained to me that married life is full of ups and downs, but we're also human; however I'm glad that we're still in the honeymoon phase.

There was a time I thought I would never be happy, I never really wanted a happily ever after; well that was until I met my parents, and then Killian.

I turned my head slightly, I smiled inwards when I noticed that Killian was still asleep; this is probably one of the best feelings in the world that I have experienced; being wrapped up in the arms of my husband, on a Friday morning.

I then lifted my head and I looked at the clock. It was 8.30 am. I had to get up and head to work soon.

My thoughts then drifted to how I was going to invite them over tonight. My thoughts then went to Neal and Henry. I'll extend the invitation both her and Henry. We couldn't have a movie night without them.

I'll see my dad at the sheriffs station, my mom might be able to secure a babysitter, I'll probably see Regina at Granny's later, she's usually there in the afternoon.

I wouldn't mind if they brought Henry and Neal with them, and I'm sure Killian wouldn't mind either. He loves Henry, and he's been a bit more relaxed around Neal.

I disentangled myself from his arms, I adjusted my pillows; I then sat up against the headboard.

I looked over at the nightstand, the story book was still open to my mom and dads story.

I then let my thoughts drift to last night. I'm glad that I decided to read the story book, however I didn't think it would bring up all of those memories.

They were memories I thought I had repressed, clearly memory can be a tricky thing. I think it's part of the reason I agreed to watch the movie with them tonight.

It will be nice to do something together that doesn't involve a curse or a even a crisis that somehow seemed to be looming over our heads.

I have a good feeling that they might get a kick out of it. Well my dad might, at first and then he might not when he sees the cartoon version of himself. My mom and Regina might have a different reaction when they see the cartoon versions of themselves.

I think it's fair to say that Killian doesn't have much understanding when it comes to what I call modern life.

I love to teach him new things. So it will be interesting to see his reaction as well.

As he has only read the story book version of my parents story. I'll probably end up watching them, while they watch the movie.

I must have been lost in thought, as the next thing I felt an arm snake round my shoulders. I turned my head and I found the strikingly blue eyes of my husband looking back at me.

I have been lost in those eyes many, many times; it's kind of hard not to. I shook my head, and I smiled at him.

"Good morning, I'm sorry if I woke you"

He looked at me, he then leaned in and kissed me. Morning breath be damned.

"It's quite alright love, I assume you're heading to the station this morning?"

I nodded.

"Yeah, I need to have a shower; and then I'm going to get dressed and head to work, and I promise I'll have something to eat before I leave"

He smiled at me and then I kissed him on the cheek; I threw back the covers and made my way to the bathroom.

As I was heading towards the bathroom door, I heard him get up; I glanced back, and I smiled internally. I just hope he understands, why we couldn't shower together, but I figured there's no harm in making it up to him once everyone leaves later on tonight.

Normally Killian and I would shower together, you know for the environment and all that; but I needed to be at the station at 9:30.

I reached in and turned the shower on, I undressed as fast as I could; and once I decided it was warm enough hopped in. I have never showered quicker in my life.

Once I got out I dried off, got dressed and headed downstairs. I then walked into the kitchen; I spotted Killian at the table. He mustn't have heard me, as he didn't look up.

I looked at the plate, I smiled when I realised he made me pop tarts for breakfast. I laughed softly, I knew that I would wear him down eventually. I made my over to the table.

I leaned down and went to kiss his cheek. Just as I went to place my lips on his cheek, I could feel his head move; apparently a kiss on the cheek would not suffice.

I quickly found myself in his arms, we kissed for what seemed like forever.

I eventually had to break the kiss to take a breath. I rested my forehead against his and we both smiled, softly while trying to get our breathing under control.

I looked at the plate again, I nudged Killian softly; he sighed, I could tell he wasn't annoyed. I laughed slightly louder than I had earlier.

"Thank you for breakfast, I know you aren't fond of pop tarts; but you put your aversion to them aside and you made then for me"

I watched as a smirk formed on his lips.

"Well love, you'll have to make it up to me tonight, first you showered without me; and then I had to make those awful things for you because I didn't have time to make anything else as you're running late for work"

I smiled, I then remembered I was making adjustments to the movie night invitations.

"Oh I forgot to mention I thought about Henry and Neal; I was thinking it would be cool if they watched the movie with us tonight. It's Friday, so Henry will be able to come over and watch it; also my mom and dad won't have time to find a babysitter in such short notice. So do you think it would be ok if I extended the invitation to include them?"

He smiled, I could see the cogs turning in his head.

"That's a good idea love, it has been a while since we've spent some time with Henry. It will also be nice to see the little royal"

I looked up at him.

"Thank you, I don't know why I didn't think to include them in the first place. I guess I was too focused on the memories that resurfaced. I have to get to work, but I'll be home later. I love you"

He kissed me.

"I love you too, have a lovely day at work, I'll see you later love"

I then grabbed my phone and then I headed off to work. Once I got to the station, I spotted my dad at his desk. He lifted his head when he heard me coming in.

I smiled, he spoke.

"Morning Emma"

"Morning dad"

Here goes nothing...

"Dad, Killian and I are going to watch a movie tonight; we were wondering if you, mom and Neal would like to come over and watch it with us. I'm going to invite Henry and Regina too"

He smiled, I could tell he knew it was still difficult for me to accept the fact that I have parents and a little brother.

"We'd love to, can I ask what movie you've got lined up?"

I smirked, he's going to get a kick out of this.

"That's great, you're going to love it dad; it's called Snow White and the Seven Dwarves"

His facial expression changed a few times, hopefully he wasn't too offended. He spoke again.

"It's about your mother? I assume I'm also in this movie?"

I didn't know what to say, so I just smirked nervously. He looked at me and continued speaking.

"I'm sure your mom and I are going to love it, what time do you want us to come over?"

I nodded. This was going to be an interesting movie night.

"I was thinking around 7.30, I'll provide the popcorn"

He laughed.

"We'll be there"

He hugged me, and we got to work.

I was thankful we didn't have any calls, but we had some paperwork to sort through. Being the sheriff of a town like Storybrooke has its moments.

However I was grateful for the peace and quiet we experienced today; it was highly unusual, we had a quick lunch at Granny's, at 1:30.

As I predicted, I found Regina at the counter having a coffee. I approached her.

"Hey Regina, Killian and I are having a movie night, and I was hoping that you and Henry would join us. My parents and Neal are coming over too, I think you'll enjoy the choice of movie tonight"

She looked at me. She smiled softly.

"Thank you, a little family gathering that doesn't involve a curse or crisis is just what we need; what time do you want us there?"

I was stunned, she actually agreed; not that she wouldn't have, but still it was a shock.

"Great, come over at 7:30"

I smiled at her and left her to finish her coffee, I decided to do the same.

I demolished the rest of my grilled cheese sandwich and onion rings, then dad and I then headed back to the station and we finished off the paperwork and at around 5:30 we decided to call it a day.

Now to prepare for the movie night. This was going to be fun...
