*I know it's a lot to ask Galvatron but...could you use Prowl, Barricade, or Ultra Magnus as couriers for the video that Alex is going to record?*

*What for Ashley?, and what's with speaking in your second native language all of a sudden? I thought you vowed never to do that unless you were physically on an EDC base where there was family also there*

*As for courier missions, I only trust my family to get the tapes to where they need to go safely, as for the language...* (sighs) *turns out I miss it more than I initially thought I would, and I want more reminders of home as time passes*

*I see, but I'm willing to bet it's still going to be in the privacy of your room right?*

*In that you'd be correct*

And so Ashley hangs up and then simply waits for the race that would (supposedly) end her life to start. During that wait though all the other agents are informed about the loss of comrades and the fact that after the race there would be video of the funeral they could watch if it didn't arrive in time, which it ultimately wouldn't. Ashley had also second guessed her plan and actually debated on faking her death during the Casa Cristo race instead but realized fairly quickly that waiting that long just wasn't an option

"Sorry guys, you're not going to like this but it's almost time"

Suddenly over the radio Ashley was informed that they were at the rally section of the race, which is when she had to make her move and she knew it, but she also knew she had to time it and make it look like an accident or her family would never stop looking for her

"Understood, be ready for radio blackout in the mountain area"

"Right"

As soon as Ashley spoke about the radio silence in the mountain area she knew that she had her location of her death planned because it was very, very easy to get into accidents in that area, and have witnesses from a good enough distance that no one would see her leaving the crash unscathed and would instead find a body double that would be created from her powers. It was something she'd only recently discovered and an ability she was grateful for since it made faking her death easier that ways, finally she was at the mountains

"Okay, guess it's time to do this"

She entered the mountains in between a few other cars and then when she deemed the time was right she acted like she suddenly slipped on a patch of ice and was unable to regain control, and because this wasn't entirely faked she knew that her crash might not be the only crash. But she still went into an uncontrolled skid and went off the ledge having a bad crash, but walked away unscathed because of her powers

"Well, now all I can do is wait for everything to happen"

She hides while a few racers do what they could, including making sure someone got out of the mountains and into an area where the radios would work so that help could be called for, even though they were positive any help would arrive too late, they still wanted to try. Eventually race officials and rescue personnel arrived, but they already knew that it was far too late for Ashley to have survived if she hadn't been killed instantly in the initial crash

"Let's...let's get her out and then announce what's happened, she's gone and has been for at least an hour if not more"

"Right, we have to inform her family first, and then the rest of the racing world"

"Yeah, I don't think they're going to like this"

"True, but things are what they are, who are we supposed to contact anyways?"

"File says a Captain Faireborn of the EDC"

"Right, this is going to hit them hard"

And so the officials and rescue team left and Ashley also left her hiding place

"Sorry everyone, but things are the way they have to be, but I'll return soon enough, but first I have to learn a whole different driving style plus debate if I'm going to get plastic surgery or not, I already know I can't wear a mask like in the anime/ live action movie Speed Racer but surgery, or a disguise via my powers will have to be a thing in order to hide my true identity"

Ashley did wait until the press conference where her death was announced to all the other racers though, and she snuck a recording device onto one of her fellow Interpol agents and overheard the main boss debate pulling out of the Casa Cristo race at minimum if not the entire season to deal with so much death in such a short amount of time agent wise

"Don't give up on the season boss, please don't give up, if you do..."

Fortunately another agent put it best, that she would want them to continue the season and continue helping the racing world despite her death, and that any other agent would be the same, that the only way they were ending the season was if the racing officials ended the season

"Very well, we await their final decision, they've already canceled the next race though, to give all the teams time to decide if this is what they want to continue doing or not, and to mourn her in their own ways"

Ultimately racing officials would allow the season to finish with the next race being the Casa Cristo race, but there was a very clear rule change that stated that at least for the rest of the season there would be no more independent racers, every driver had to have a sponsor of some sort and the sponsors had to be legitimate groups as well because the officials would be checking out newly established sponsors before they would allow those racers to race again

"What are we going to do?"

"I don't know, we need to continue our mission but we can't risk alerting anyone to what we truly do"

"There is one group who's aware of our unit, Kerenai was given special dispensation to explain this unit when she joined us because she explained that while things about her family were highly classified they would need an answer as to why Interpol wants her as a race car driver, as such..."

"The EDC was informed about our unit via Kerenai, they've known what she's been doing the entire time haven't they?"

"Yes they have"

"Then we shall ask them to sponsor us"

"Let's do it"

Ultimately the EDC would agree to sponsor all but one Interpol driver, but that's because of the fact that the Interpol driver argued that it was probably best that at least one person associated with Interpol wasn't also sponsored by the EDC or it might be a little too suspicious and instead got a sponsorship with another big company

"Then we're agreed"

"Actually there is one other thing we're wondering about"

"What is it?"

"If an EDC officer can officially be part of this Interpol unit as a liaison, we're thinking of using Robocop, maybe as a mechanic or something, but never a driver, I don't think we could handle it if we lost him to racing as well"

"Why are you asking?"

Captain Faireborn sighs

"We think that some of our enemies are starting to join the racing community here on Earth, it's...it's why we think we lost Ashley, there's evidence, not a lot, but some that the accident might have been deliberate, that her car was sabotaged in a way that wasn't discovered until it was too late"

"I see...I accept personally, but we're also going to have to run this through my bosses"

"Understood"

Ultimately the proposal was accepted and Ashley would find out about both the proposal and the fact that Alex was now part of the pit crew at the same time while watching Casa Cristo live

"This is going to be interesting, wonder what the announcer is going to say about all those drivers being sponsored by the EDC"

"Attention audience, as you can see several previously independent drivers are now being sponsored by the EDC, at least for the rest of this racing season. According to the EDC they're sponsoring these racers since they don't want to see these young people lose a chance on their future before it truly begins, this is also to give them time to find other sponsors should the officials decide that there can no longer be any independent racers as of next season from the start"

"Well that's one way to resolve the issue, and a clever cover, even if it's only for the rest of the season, I already know I won't be here next season, it'll be too soon and my driving won't change as much as I need it to, but I can still watch in between practicing, and who knows maybe...maybe I will debut towards the end of the season if it's allowed, but most likely I'll be out all of next season too, but I'll be keeping an eye on things all the same, even if I can't actually help"

And so Ashley watches the race and is happy that one of the Interpol racers wins. The rest of the season wasn't easy for the Interpol racers but they adapted, and just as she promised herself, while she continued working on making her racing style completely different, and yet keeping everything legal she also kept an eye on her fellow Interpol agents, happy that independent racers were once again allowed the next season as announced at the end of the season where everyone was forced to have a sponsor. The season after her "death" was one that she simply observed, perfecting her disguise that was made with her powers and her racing style and she ultimately decided not to race just in case she made people suspicious with her racing or a slip up in her disguise. And she even saw Alex saving the lives of fellow agents and competitors a few times when he suspected alien involvement in sabotage

"Good move, I was going to try and do something myself but you beat me to it Alex, next year though, next year I'm also helping with more than anonymous tips"

Ashley continued training and would ultimately get a sponsor from India, the country she was currently living in. India didn't know her true identity because she made sure she didn't fake amnesia, but they also knew that she was in hiding for personal reasons and that she felt that the people after her were too dangerous to talk about in detail, they did not realize she had used her powers to create a disguise though. They also had to convince her to let them sponsor her since she was determined to go independent once she found out it was allowed

"Listen, I know you feel you have to go independent for whatever reason, but we believe it might be best to be sponsored for at least your first season, prove you can race to everyone. We'll even mention that it's in the contract that you're allowed to become independent at the end of the season if you wish to do so"

"I...okay then, thanks"

"Now then, the new season is still a little ways off but we were wondering if you felt ready to participate in some local races to truly see if you're ready for the big leagues"

"I'll think about it, but first I want to watch one more race in person"

"The most dangerous race of the season, understood, you know they almost skipped the race before that one due to the fact that a racer was lost in that race last year"

"What changed their minds then?"

"The racers themselves, they insisted that the deceased racer would want things to go on as normal for a racing season whenever possible"

"I see, I think...I think I'll take you up on that offer, but those two races are ones I need to see for myself, for reasons that unfortunately I'm unable to get into, despite only recently getting into the racing field"

Once the two races that she absolutely had to watch were over, Ashley started getting back into form as quickly and safely as possible while changing her racing style, but finally it was time for the new season to begin

"So, you feel ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be anyways"

"Okay then, just...be careful, the EDC is warning of possible enemies joining in the races"

"Understood"

The first race of the season showed that Ashley, under a different name was aggressive, not enough to be illegal, but definitely aggressive, and then one of the racers (which was secretly part of a terrorist group) tried to take out another racer that Ashley knew was simply an independent racer and not even an Interpol agent, and thus sacrificed a win to keep them from being killed in a crash, but she did finish the race and got payback for the stunt on the terrorist driver, though it cost her the next race

"Officials are banning you from the next race, which means your points are going to be affected"

"Worth it though, oh so definitely worth it, though I can't tell you the reasons behind why I feel that ways"

"How is being banned for an entire race worth it?"

"I'm sorry, but I truly can't explain why it's worth it to me"

"We're just going to have to hope you can catch up in the next race you participate in"

"We'll see, things will only tell in the future"

"Are you going to be suspended regularly?"

"I'm not sure actually, but what I'm actually referring to is the fact that anything can happen in a race and while I'll do my best to catch up as much as possible you never know if something will happen or I'm simply up against a better driver, or at least someone who's having a better day for whatever reason"

"That's fair enough I suppose"

Ultimately the next race Ashley participated in was a simple race in that there were no terrorist, regular or EDC wise, but it was complex in regards to the course, and while Ashley didn't win the race she did place second which helped all things considered

"Well it's not first place, but you still did pretty good all things considered"

"Yeah, that was indeed a hard race, that course was intense that's for sure"

"We noticed it gave you trouble in spots, you fell back a couple of times in places we were shocked you would do so"

"Yeah, those parts were too treacherous to go real fast, I think you'll find most racers did the same thing I did if you ask around"

"We'll ask, but we know you tell the truth whenever possible or keep your silence if there's no better option available to you"

And so the season continued and then came time for the race that would have killed Ashley for real if it hadn't been for the fact that she was skilled and had her powers (the crash had been worse than she'd initially expected, even with her intentionally crashing) and everyone could tell that she's anxious

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah just...just remembering what happened only two years ago, guess it's making me anxious worrying that the same thing might happen to me considering I'm still new to racing"

Suddenly she notices Alex come over and since he was known to help people she spoke up not at all suspicious

"Can I help you?"

"Your vehicle is covered in an explosive residue that is connected to EDC enemies that we suspect has a connection to a terrorist group that is believed to have killed an Interpol agent two years ago to the day"

"Say...what?!, oh that's it they are mincemeat when I get my hands on them, this is the second time during a race and the fourth time overall this year that they have tried to kill me, I am done playing their games though. Robocop tell the EDC and Interpol that agent Kerenai is alive, authorization delta- 1955827, plus I also have this" (takes a breath before speaking in her second native language) *Primes, Galvatron it's me alright, I plan on explaining why I faked my death two years ago to you guys in person once I finish the season, but in case I can't finish the season alive then I left a video diary in the usual safety deposit box in India, I love you my family and I miss you, hope to see you soon, Kerenai signing off*

"Linda...what's going on?"

(Sighs) "I have a lot of explaining to do after this race, but for now we need to focus on winning this thing and making sure the explosives are dealt with, or well...if not win the race at least make sure a legitimate racer wins instead"

"The explosives are easy to deal with for me and my fellow pit crew members"

"Then let's do it, the race is only an hour away and I have laps to determine my position in thirty minutes"

"Ashley, you have already proven yourself to me but...are you sure you want to participate in this race?"

"I know what you're thinking Robo, and I'll admit knowing that the people are trying to kill me while in this race specifically won't be easy, especially on the anniversary of my supposed death, but I also don't really have very many options. And by the way for my Indian group, yes, I'm an Interpol agent and it's why I cost myself that race the one time, I knew that the racer I deliberately crashed was part of a terrorist group and knew I had to stop them even if it cost me the race"

"That's why you said that being banned from the next race was worth it to you to cause a deliberate crash"

"Yep, that's exactly why I felt it worth it for that one race ban, because I knew I would be stopping a terrorist group from getting money this ways, at least temporarily if not for the entire rest of the season"

"For now we need to deal with the explosives"

"Right"

Fortunately the explosives were dealt with before Ashley had to do her timed laps to see where she was regarding starting position, and while she didn't do the greatest she also didn't do the worst, she was essentially in the middle of the pack. But before the race her current sponsor was talking to her about dropping out of the race again

"Listen, whether you're Kerenai or Linda, if you're not in the right mindset racing is dangerous, and now that we know you almost died two years ago in this exact race, on this exact day we must know if you truly feel able to race in this one. We don't want to have to tell your family that you were alive only to be lost for real this time in this exact race because you weren't mentally here"

"I know, and while I am anxious about this race I can handle it, I promise, and if I start thinking I can't while in the actual race I'll forfeit by the fact that I'll immediately stop racing and let the race officials pick me up wherever I'm stopped"

"Okay, we're going to trust you know your limits, but we don't really know you do we? I mean..."

"You know enough about the real me, there were simply a few aspects, like my name that I kept hidden from you guys"

"And the fact that you work with Interpol"

"That's...not entirely accurate at this point in time, I was working with Interpol, but I've kinda been separate ever since I faked my death two years ago. I gave them tips whenever possible and done my own investigation into things, but I haven't given regular reports since that day and unless Robo told them immediately about my being alive they still consider me dead and thus a KIA Interpol agent"

"Wait, if you're considered Killed In Action in regards to Interpol, and yet you worked with them regularly how did they not recognize your anonymous tips as being from you?"

"Typed letters and couriers with no return address, these couriers are...different by the way in that they work with both the EDC, Interpol and their local and federal police of their countries and they insist on the person contacting them either wear a mask of some sort that disguises a person's features, or in my case a couple of times I could use the local weather and location to my advantage and disguise myself by wearing clothing that would disguise my facial features quite easily"

"Wait, how can law enforcement trust these kinds of people then?"

"Simple, the EDC were the first to use them and they deliberately designed this system to keep both parties safe, this ways if for whatever reason an EDC enemy captured a courier the courier wouldn't be able to give the enemy any specific features in case it was a minibot they were meeting so that the enemies couldn't go after a specific EDC family or target, but it also kept the courier safe because it meant that since they couldn't identify a specific EDC officer or Cybertronian then it meant that there was a chance the person they met wasn't affiliated with the EDC generally, and thus they were let go. But the other safety measure that I forgot to mention is that the courier, while not completely disguised like the law enforcement officer, does have minor disguises on so that the law enforcement officer can't identify the courier in case the law enforcement officer is captured by criminals who want to use the courier to their advantage somehow"

"Oh, by the way it's almost time"

"Right"

And so during the race all of a sudden her radio comes to life

"Kerenai, you have a lot of explaining to do after this race, you know that right?"

"I know, sorry Andrew, the situation at the time forced my hand though, full story later, I promise, guess Robo told you guys and the EDC confirmed it right?"

"Actually it was the language you spoke at the end that confirmed it, the EDC told us about your family after your supposed death for reasons that are complicated, we've heard the language enough to recognize it instantly now"

"I see, for now we should concentrate on this race, we're coming up on the part where I crashed, and it wasn't completely faked that day guys, I just made it seem worse than what it truly was"

"Right, be careful in that area due to ice conditions, got it"

Ultimately Ashley would finish the race this time around and then with her current sponsors would have a meeting with the EDC and Interpol and it was the Interpol agent who got off the first question

"Where have you been Kerenai? I mean...we thought you were killed two years ago in this exact race"

"I know, and I know I hurt everyone by faking my death, but at the time I didn't have much of a choice. I've been in India for the most part since then, though I've also been secretly working on the case that caused me to fake my death in the first place" (sighs) "I have a question first before I fully explain why I faked my death two years ago. Does anyone remember during my second year of racing and how that incident happened during the third race of the season?"

It was an EDC officer who answered though

"We remember alright, mainly because it was right before Interpol agents died and Cybertronians acted as couriers so that you racers could watch the funeral that had been held"

"Good, that's where it all begins, actually, it began during the off season, you see I gained a powerful enemy during the off season doing an Interpol investigation and they did their best to try and kill me and innocent bystanders, it's why I made the decision I did to fake my death"

"You did it to protect everyone else"

"Yes, though I wasn't entirely sure if it would work, and I didn't know about the terrorist connection at the time"

"You partially succeeded Kerenai, in fact if not for the terrorist connection I think the person trying to kill you would have let things end at that point in time"

"Oh?"

"Yes, you see a few months after your apparent death someone who was arrested for a different crime admitted to being the one trying to kill you during the racing season, but that they continued to cause crashes, that weren't lethal I might add, because they had no other choice since their bosses wanted all of the Interpol agents taken care of"

"But they didn't want to kill anyone but me so they simply made it where they were trying to just knock the other agents out for the rest of the season without killing them if at all possible, or involving innocent bystanders"

"Exactly, there was one more deadly accident after yours but it wasn't anyone's fault, directly anyways, it turned out that the person unknowingly had asthma and the combination of smoke and minor injuries was what did them in, though they lasted a few days at least"

(Sighs) "let me guess they were involved in the accident and either unconscious long enough to breath in the smoke or were trapped long enough"

"The second one actually"

"I see"

"By the way Kerenai, have you given us anonymous tips while thought dead?"

"Yes, and yes I used the special couriers and always made sure that my tips were typed up"

"And now we know why several of our tips were about things that could either be delayed or took time in the first place to investigate"

"Yes, it is indeed why you got some of those tips, I knew that you needed the information, but I also knew that it would take time to get to you, even if it wouldn't be an extreme amount of time"

"You were smart to do it that ways, well in any case the Casa Cristo race is next"

"Right, best get ready then, and by the way for those in the EDC and Interpol I'm staying with my current team for now, I'll decide later if I want to go solo or not. We'll also need to figure out how to get me declared alive again after the season is over with considering the fact that I want to remain anonymous for just a little while longer this year against terrorist racers"

"Good idea, but did you have to change your style to being so aggressive while remaining within the rules?"

"Sorry guys, but I couldn't have any enemies associating my racing style with me considering I'm supposed to be dead, besides terrorists are getting rougher as well and thus my new style is survival mode for me"

"I guess I understand just...try and tone it down a little so that when the announcement is made they aren't too shocked about your racing style change"

"There's a reason I made sure to keep my aggressiveness within the rules after all"

"That definitely will go a long ways"

"Yes I know it will"

Suddenly Ashley's sponsors speaks up

"Actually, there's something we're wondering now that we know the truth, we know that you can't blatently be supporting us but...we're wondering if Robocop might help keep an extra eye out for Kerenai, and all other innocent racers too so that no one suspects you're partial to her"

"That might actually be a good idea, now then like Kerenai said we need to start preparing for the next race, it's extremely dangerous and called the Casa Cristo by us for a reason"

"Right"

During the next race things were started in a rough race and it only got rougher in a very short time and so Ashley used her radio to contact the Interpol racers

"Hey guys, I'm thinking it's time to take out the trash so I'll start and you guys might have to finish depending on how much damage my move does to the car"

"Got it Kerenai, go for it, we'll back you up"

"Okay then, on my mark, three...two...one...mark!"

And so Ashley succeeds in taking down one terrorist while still able to race and all Interpol racers would switch off and take down one racer each, or in one case keep an innocent racer from being taken out of the race by sacrificing their car so that the other racer's car didn't go off the cliff, the agent would escape to safety but be unable to finish the race and required a pick up by the dedicated rescue crew

"He's fine, being rescued and out of the race, but fine"

"Thanks for the info Robo, okay guys the rest of us have to switch tactics for the rest of the race if we're going to succeed in our mission"

"How so?"

"The mandatory overnight stop coming up, I'll explain more when we get there, but for now we have to keep ourselves under control and in the race understood?"

Suddenly one of the agents who was a little further ahead spoke up

"Uh...Robo, Kerenai did the EDC ever come across any aliens that can make green fire and not tell us despite our partnership?"

"Robo?..."

"One moment...yes actually, and this alien encounter happened right before this racing season began and thus..."

"Thus the reason why even though you're an EDC officer you weren't told about it, racing season is crazy enough as it is and then there's the fact that they would be trying to figure out if the alien was friend or foe before telling you to be on the lookout at the races"

"Yes, and unfortunately they are foe, an ally told us about the war they've been fighting and then...Ashley we both have a funeral to attend to after this race"

"Who?"

"Barricade, Blaster, Soundwave and Inferno"

"I see...everyone you're to continue the race without me, the racing officials will never allow me to finish the season after what I'm about to do, if only because I entered under a false name"

"Kerenai, what are you thinking?"

"Robo, you remember what you learned about me when I lived with you?"

"Wait, are you certain about this?"

"Yes, and yes I know that in some circles this will reveal me as alive, but quite frankly we don't have any choice, everyone make sure that all the other racers get behind me, and when I give you the signal get everyone to go as fast as they can and don't stop understood? I mean it no matter what they have to keep going"

"Kerenai, I'm not going to stop you however, are you sure you can handle the unsealing right now? I'm only thinking about your overall health in this question Kerenai"

"I'm sure Robo, after all I've secretly done a partial unseal anyways, how did you know I did the seal after the accident anyhow?"

"It's the only way we could have never found you considering what happened when you were fifteen"

"Oh...good point actually, I completely forgot that, I only did the seal because at the time I was injured enough that I didn't want to risk backlash if I did anything too soon, and then kept the seal until more recently simply because I didn't want to be outed as different in India"

"Though how a partial unsealing didn't reveal you I have no idea"

"Internal shields Robo, it's been noticed in the past that if I only use internal shields it goes unnoticed"

"Uh...what are you two talking about Kerenai?"

"You'll see in a few minutes, how far away am I from that fire?"

"If you're at the pass about ten to fifteen minutes depending on how slick that pass is and how slow you go because of it, you can punch it though right after the last corner"

"Okay, then that's the plan I'm going with, remember everyone keep all the other racers behind me and then when I give the signal make sure that everyone punches it and doesn't stop"

"How long do we have to punch it though?"

"When a racer reaches the sign that signals the last mile of this section of the race then you can slow down to normal racing speed, but until then you have to go at insane and dangerous speeds for safety reasons"

"I don't think I like this plan"

"Too bad, you don't actually have any options because what I'm going to do is too dangerous for you guys to be near"

"But..."

"Robo, you have my full permission to explain things to Interpol, I'm going comm silent due to necessity"

"Understood"

And so Ashley switches off her radio and when she knew it was safe to do so punches it and reaches the green wall of fire

"Okay...that's a bit bigger than I expected it to be, and stronger too from the looks of it, okay, let's hope I can hold on long enough for this to work"

Ashley hears the sound of car engines and thus quickly gets to work

"Arranyan shield path!"

And so Ashley makes a path through the wall of fire which the cars start racing through one by one, though as the cars continue she notices that she's getting tire more and more easily and begins to wonder if she'll last until the last car goes through, not knowing that an Interpol agent had deliberately chosen to be the last car to inform her it was safe to stop whatever it was she was doing and shouted as he passed by

"I'm the last one Kerenai!"

As soon as Ashley saw that the racer was safely on the other side she let go of her shields and simply worked on catching her breath, fortunately not passing out like she'd feared

"Okay now all that's left is to see what racing officials have decided regarding my season...and await a pick up"

Suddenly Ashley sees the alien enemies though

"We're going to destroy you human for ruining our plan, how you created that path for the others is beyond us, but it clearly exhausted you so you're easy to take down"

"Actually that's not going to be as easy as you think it will be"

"And what makes you say that human?"

"This"

Suddenly Ashley uses several throwing knives that she'd had on her person and then started using the handgun that she had on her, with plenty of ammo to boot

"This is for my family that you killed you creeps!"

"How?!"

"I've trained myself to work and fight through exhaustion, I've run myself down pretty hard and then still had to fight afterwords or I've already done a long day of racing or work and still needed to keep my concentration a little longer to finish the job, you can't defeat me that easily"

"We'll see"

And so the fight begins and Ashley is soon hoping for backup but still prepared to last for a while longer in the fight, though she knew her strength would eventually wane and she would be defeated, fortunately she quickly received backup in the form of Robocop coming personally

"Robo...good to see you, a little help please?"

"Of course Kerenai"

Once the fight was over Ashley knew she wouldn't be able to fight her loss of conciousness much longer and so said one simply thing to Alex

"Explanations once I wake up, night"

With that very little warning Alex is barely able to catch Ashley before she collapses completely on the ground and simply uses her car to get her to the end of the race course with permission. When Ashley woke up she gave the full story to both the EDC and Interpol as promised and learned that she would actually be allowed to finish the season, however she would be starting out in last place for what was left of the racing season as punishment for not revealing herself to racing officials, some of whom would have kept Ashley's secret for her if asked

"Sorry about the ruling Kerenai"

"It's fine, better than what I expected really, plus I finally get to race under my own name again not expecting to do so for a long time if ever again"

And so Ashley finishes the season and even gets to arrest the last of the group that forced her to fake her death in the first place

"So...what now?"

"Now I continue racing while being sponsored by the EDC, since it's well known that the EDC are my family, eventually I'll retire but for now I keep going and working with Robo when needed on missions that involve both Interpol and the EDC, he is the official liaison between the two after all"

"And India?"

"They knew I was only going to be sponsored by them for the season, we're going our separate ways starting today"

"Okay then"

Seven years later and Ashley would be forced to retire from the racing track and field work for the most part because Alex Murphy aka Robocop was killed on assignment on another planet during the off season and she would take his place as the liaison between Interpol and the EDC. But she would still work in the field occasionally and due to her racing experience was the main person in charge of the Interpol car racers since her immediate boss regarding that decided to retire from Interpol that same year due to reaching retirement age. By the time she left racing though she left a legacy of racing officials allowing cyborgs to officially race in any and all races that they wished to participate in, even allowing them to create a team if they wished to go pro, and so there were a total of five cyborgs to continue her legacy when she announced her retirement

"Kerenai, are you sure you want to retire from racing?"

"I'm not leaving completely, just changing positions guys, and for reasons I can't get into it's a necessary change"

"Well...okay I guess"

"It'll be fine guys, we've proven ourselves enough already"

As it would turn out that first race of the season would begin an annual tradition where the first race was dedicated to Ashley's accomplishment in allowing cyborgs to officially race, and this would continue even after her retirement and eventual death, Robocop was also regularly remembered too, with is real name eventually being used and his story partially told, but this was several years after both is wife and son were also dead
