ch3 - Movie Night pt1

Disclaimer, I don't own any of the characters from OUAT.

As soon as I got home, I opened the front door and I just about avoided hitting Killian with it; as he was standing right behind it.

He was smiling, it faltered when he noticed the look on my face; sometimes it still surprises me that after all this time I'm still an open book.

I tried to hide what I was thinking, I reached up and placed my hand on his cheek. I leaned up and kissed him.

He looked at me and he smiled again.

I think the nerves of hosting movie night were starting to show. I took a deep breath and when I regained my composure.

"How was your day love?"

I smiled, I've never had someone ask me how my day went; well except my parents.

"It was good, I was able to finish the paperwork on my desk, and I spoke to my dad this morning and I found Regina at Granny's. My dad is excited and well Regina is indifferent. However they can't wait to watch the movie tonight"

He placed his arm around me, and we made our way into the kitchen.

He sat down at the table while I got to work finding everything we would need for tonight. I checked every cabinet, of course the last one I checked had everything I needed.

I decided that in order to have enough popcorn for everyone I would need to microwave two bags.

I reached back into the cabinet and I pulled out a box of milk duds; I smirked inwardly, I looked over to where he was sitting; he followed my gaze, I then spoke.

"I was going to melt them and mix them through the popcorn, well maybe just our bowl"

He nodded, knowing it was my specialty; it did take a while but I convinced him that there was nothing wrong with having popcorn with milk duds.

"Ah yes, your specialty; well love if you want to make it then go ahead. Your parents, Henry and Regina might not; so why don't you make them their own popcorn?"

He's right my family might not appreciate the texture, so I'll make a separate bowl for them.

I moved across the kitchen and I lifted two large bowls. I just hoped there would be enough popcorn for six people. I guess I can always pause the movie and make more.

It took a few minutes but I eventually found the popcorn, I could sense his smile from where he was standing behind me.

I then realised I had nothing for Neal, and he was still so young, it would be to risky to let him near the popcorn. Why didn't I think to stock age appropriate snacks for him?

On second thought I'm sure my mom and dad will bring some snacks for him. So that's one crisis averted, now to move some furniture.

I headed into the lounge, I smiled as this was going to be an interesting experience for all involved.

I could feel my nerves coming to the surface, we've never had a movie night here before; well Killian and I have but we haven't had one as a family before and I'm worried that the choice of movie might offend certain people.

I still wasn't quite sure how Regina would react. Would she find it offensive or would she find it flattering? I guess it depends on how the night goes.

Once I found the dvd, I placed it beside the dvd player; I know they are a thing of the past, but it reminds me of my childhood. I might not have had the best childhood, but watching a movie would make me forget about what was going on in my life.

I then turned my attention to the couch, it was fine where it was. I looked at the chairs, I figured if I moved them so they were all facing the tv; it would make it easier to see the movie on the screen.

Once I was satisfied with how the furniture looked, I turned around and I spotted Killian; he was watching me from the kitchen. I could tell he was bemused by the way he was watching me.

I smiled, and glanced back to the couch; there was something missing.

Pillows and blankets, of course; I grinned coyly at Killian as I made my to the stairs. He caught my gaze and smirked.

I could feel my heart stutter, that smirk made me melt inside. Hopefully he didn't notice the look on my face. When I looked at him again I realised his train of thought had changed.

He led me back down the few stairs I had climbed, I pretended to struggle, knowing it was useless. I opened my mouth to speak, only to feel his lips crashing down on mine.

We kissed for what seemed like a lifetime, I was about to say to hell with the movie night; but it wouldn't have been right to cancel on such sort notice.

I broke the kiss, and after I caught my breath I smiled softly; I looked up at Killian, his breathing was back to normal too.

I then went upstairs to retrieve the blankets. Once I lifted them, and made my way back downstairs, I placed them on the couch.

That's when my mind drifted to more mature thoughts, well I am married; so I guess I'm allowed to fool around with my husband undetected under a blanket, in a darkened room.

My mind drifted again, this time in more mature, not so PG13 detail.

Our hands might wonder, while watching the movie and we're still in the honeymoon phase of our marriage; and my parents can't object because I've caught them in the act before.

Regina, Henry and Neal would be blissfully unaware as well.

I shook my head again, I can't get side tracked, it would be wrong to anything while my parents, Neal, Regina and Henry were here; I'll save those activities for later.

All that was left to do was watch the movie, so all I had to was wait for everyone to arrive.

What did I get myself into?
