November 16th

The sun rose over the horizon and hit me through my window, it has been a weird week or two, i woke up about a month ago, and found myself in a new body, martial law being declared and of course 30 percent as of the last estimate of the world's population turned into pokemon, now referred to as elementals, i was scared at first cause well i look like a common house pet, turns out my grandparents took it well, of course my brother still has yet to have made it to us, so i can only assume the worst as its been so long, they started the lockdown with the instilment of martial law, the complete removal of the civilian government from our city, then the guy put in charge as far as most can tell is a neo-Nazi, and then the seeds of rebellion were sowed, of course when busses started leaving the city numbering in the hundreds daily and people who opposed the martial law started disappearing, it further stoked the flames, the massacer at the homless camp which was clearly carried out by the military was blamed on the elementals, this blame was initially believed by some, but then photos started appearing on power poles in mailboxes and littered on the streets of the bodies before they were burnt, that is what finnaly caused the point of no return, i was pulled out of my thoughts by my grandmother who had shook me slightly.

"Mykkol someone is at the door" she said, i nodded in response, "i will tell them you will be down in a minute so hurry up" she said and turned to walk out my door and down the hall.

A minute later I had made my way down the stairs, to see some of the wounded still in our living room though most had left the room, and then I saw Officer Markus in our kitchen sitting at our dining table.

"Hey kid, how are you?" I hopped onto the chair and used the small chalkboard on the table to tell him I am fine.

"Good to hear, I figured I should let l you know your friend is recovering in mercy, and the boys at the department want to thank you, we odds are we wouldn't have made it this far without you" Markus said, tilting my head slightly.

"What i'm saying is that you finding that ammo dump saved hundreds of lives, and you carrying messages for the last two weeks as well, you facilitated coordination that would only otherwise be doable with radios and phones, of which we had neither, so i wanted to come here and thank you in person, not only that but to offer you a role in the pittsburgh-guard as a communication and forward scouting specialist, if you want to join up with us head down to the point or you could get a ride with me if you want" he offered.

"Sure i would like a ride" i wrote on the chalkboard, "i thought so" officer markus said as he ruffled my head-fur.

"Good luck Mykkol and officer markus, can you go give this to the guys back at your camp, i think they would appreciate it" my grandmother gave him a glass-tupperware container with some chili in it, "I'm sure they will" Markus said taking the container as we walk out of the door the powdered snow on the ground, had a nice feeling on my paws, a pickup truck was sitting out front with a few guys around it and even a lucario which was wearing a bullet proof vest and holding an m16 with a holographic sight, even the Flarion from last night was in the back as well, there was a guy already in the driver's seat, markus opened the passenger side door put the container on it and jumped into the back of the truck with us.

As Markus jumped into the truck it began to move, "so you're the kid with the knife i have heard about?" the Lucario asked. "I would guess," I said. "Your the only elemental with a knife out of all of us i have seen and given the blood stains in your fur i would say so" the Flareon whos voice was clearly feminine retorted, the lucario glared at the Flareon then looked to me and said "That is Laras way of saying thank you for your help last night".

"What am I being thanked for?" i asked, the lucario looked at me as if i was stupid, "I saw you go on that rampage last night, you killed a machine gunner allowing us to do our thing and actually push forward instead of getting gunned down" the lucario answered.

"So are you going to tell him your name or just make me?" Lara asked, nipping at the Lucario's thigh.

"Ouch! You didn't have to bite me" he told her, "yea well i don't have hands to slap you anymore, so tell him your name or i will actually bite you" Lara said, i chuckled a bit with their antics.

"My name is Nikolaos," the lucario sighed.

"sorry to interrupt you three, but i need you guys to head out to where the national guard were stopping trains and try and find any form of food,

Where they were heading does not matter, we need the food, even with rationing the current stockpiles will only last about a month" Markus said as we drove down the street.

The snow starts to fall again, I zone out the rest of the way to our destination, we eventually arrive at a rail junction across the fort pitt bridge, Nikolaos, Marcus, Lara and i hop out of the truck and next to the railroad track.

We began digging through the railcars, Nikolas slung his rifle over his shoulder and hopped onto the ladder of a hopper car car while Markus had done the same on another. I decided to move further down the tracks and try to find a cargo manifest.
