Set during Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

33rd day of Lenisgale, year 2306

The ship Dawn Treader, between Narnia and the Lone Islands

To High King Peter the Magnificent,

Lucy and I did it! We're back in Narnia. Unfortunately, our dear cousin Eustace has joined us as well. Reepicheep suggested we throw him overboard and if Lu wasn't here, I might've.

Caspian's here too; it's only been three years since we left. You'll be happy to know he's done a splendid job as king so far. He's taller than you now.

I realize you'll never actually read this, but it feels good to write. I'll have to phone you and Susan when Lu and I get back.

Aslan be with you,

King Edmund the Just

The ship Dawn Treader, east of the Lone Islands

Peter,

I miss you dearly, brother. I'm not used to being in Narnia, to being a king, without you. I know what you'd say if you were here. You'd probably tell me off, and remind me that I don't need you to be a good king. And then you'd hug me.

Maybe I'm just in want of a good hug. Lucy would gladly give me one I'm sure.

In other news, it seems the Lone Islands were infested with slave traders. We were captured by them, but the brave crew of the Dawn Treader intervened before anything came of it.

I don't have the heart to tell you more now. Especially because I'll have to explain it all again when I actually see you.

Love,

Edmund the Just

Peter,

Do you remember, after Beruna, how you couldn't fall asleep if you didn't know I was safe? And how I would get so cold I'd crawl into your bed just to get warm? That turned into neither of us being able to sleep without the other.

And I can't sleep Peter. I keep dreaming of her.

I miss you so desperately it aches.

-Edmund Pevensie

Peter,

Eustace is a dragon. He's been turned into a dragon. I can't decide if it's a blessing that he can't talk, or a curse, since now he could eat me in a single bite.

I suppose that's what he gets for wandering into a dragon's hoard. He didn't know any better. I hope we can find a way to change him back; even a person as beastly as our cousin doesn't deserve this fate.

Lucy discovered my last couple of letters. And in case you're reading this one too, I'm doing much better, Lu.

-Edmund the Just

10th day of Mayblossom, Year 2307

The ship Dawn Treader, east of the Lone Islands

Peter,

We've been in Narnia for months now. I know it won't last. I don't want it to last; not without you and Susan here to share it with us.

Besides, Narnia is in good hands.

Caspian held onto my torch. It still works, can you believe that.

That's all for now.

-Edmund the Just

6th day of Lenisgale, 1942

Scrubb Residence, Cambridge

To High King Peter the Magnificent of Narnia,

Peter, Edmund and I went back to Narnia! I'm sure you know that already, Ed's going to phone the professor's house the moment he can. I wanted to write the letter anyway, while it's all still fresh in my mind.

There's a painting here in my room of a very Narnian looking ship. Eustace was up here bothering Edmund and I, and the painting started to spew sea water. It filled up the whole room, and when we surfaced, we were in the middle of an ocean, next to the ship in the painting.

It turned out to be the Dawn Treader, Caspian's ship. He was on a voyage to find the seven lords of Telmar. Miraz set them out to sea when he killed Caspian's father.

We did find all the lords, save one. That poor lord fell into a pool that turned him to solid gold. Edmund says he'll tell you about that.

There were slave traders in the Lone Islands; Eustace was turned to a dragon, and then back to a boy (Aslan did the last bit); we were attacked by a Sea Serpent (a Sea Serpent, Peter!). There was an island with these funny invisible creatures called Dufflepuds. I helped them become visible again. There was a horrible Dark Island that showed us our greatest fears. Edmund saw the Witch, you ought to talk to him about that, Peter. We also met a very pretty fallen star named Lilliandil.

We sailed right to the edge of the world, Peter. There was a beautiful sweet sea covered in lilies. We could see Aslan's country beyond. It looked so very beautiful. Reepicheep chose to pass into it. I know we will all end up there someday.

Ed can fill in the details. I'm going to write to Susan now.

Aslan be with you,

Queen Lucy the Valiant of Narnia
