ch9 -Movie Day pt3
As the movie progressed, we watched as his trip that was pointless, meant that he had to go back home. We watched as his journey home began, a storm had begun and his cart crashed.
He was surrounded by wolves. He got on his horse and tried to outrun them. Once he got to the castle, they stopped and ran back the way they came. He entered the gates and made his way to the doors. He knocked, but got no answer.
As he was about to walk away, the door opened and made his way in. He called out, and explained what had happened to him; and that he wanted shelter for the night due to the storm that appeared out of nowhere.
He made his way through the castle and then Lumiere and Cogsworth came into view. I could feel Killian sit up slightly.
"A talking clock and candle?"
The confusion clear in his voice, as he spoke; I tried not to laugh. I knew he would get a kick out of that. We watched as stayed quiet, and her father making his way into a room where there was a chair facing the fire, he sat down; and then chip appeared.
I grinned, because chip is one of my favourite characters. I laughed internally as Belle's father panicked, and he ran out of room and out of the castle.
We watched the next few scenes unfold, as the Beast decided to hold him captive, as he claimed that her father was a thief and he had no right to enter the castle or its grounds.
The next scene, was the morning after; as Belle went on with her morning, she saw her fathers horse come racing through the village.
But we watched as she was confused by the fact her father was no where to be found, so she got up on the horse; and they went in search of him.
That's when she reached the castle, she repeated the actions of her father. Once she entered we watched as Lumiere, and Cogsworth talk about the girl who had come to the castle.
I laughed loudly at Cogsworth's skeptic tone, when he explained that it was important that they don't get their hopes up; because Lumiere got slightly excited about the potential fact of the spell being broken by this girl.
We watched on as Belle explored the castle and found her father in a cell. Belle tried to get him out, and the Beast reappeared. She begged him to release her father, the beast agreed, but only if she took his place.
When Belle switched places with him; I had tears in my eyes, as she sacrificed her own freedom in order to save her father. In a way it's kind of like when I sacrificed myself in order to defeat the Dark Fairy in the final battle. I did it to ensure my family's safety and future.
I refocused my attention on the movie as Belle accepted that she was now a prisoner, a few moments later Lumiere and Cogsworth appeared again; Lumiere thought it was time to set her free and find her a room.
Personally I think it was a rather sweet thing to do, as they were well aware of the Beast's temperament; ask they knew that a woman shouldn't be left to rot in a small cell. He gave her a tour of the castle, as Cogsworth reluctantly went along with him.
he protested that it wasn't ideal for them to give her a room, that's when we laughed. The scene changed once more, as Lumiere and Cogsworth warned her about the forbidden wing of the castle and that she shouldn't even think about exploring it.
Killian spoke.
"She best listen to them, as there's nothing more dangerous than a forbidden wing of a castle; but I don't think she won't"
I laughed and replied.
"You're right"
When she found the room with the torn portrait, the mirror and rose; when she approached the table, and was about to reach out; the Beast snarled at her.
I jumped slightly, as he appeared out of what seemed like nowhere. He ordered her to leave, she ran out of the room and back down the corridor.
As we watched the scenes unfold, and when it showed the beast with Lumiere, Cogsworth and Mrs Potts watching him as he demanded she join him for dinner.
When she refused I laughed, they tried to encourage him to be gentle with her, but she kept refusing to join him even after he lowered his voice.
He then declared that she could starve and they were not to feed her unless she ate with him. A few moments later, Belle was seen planning to escape; and then Mrs Potts entered the room and offered her tea, she warned Chip to be careful as he made his way over to Belle.
The scene continued and then Belle made her way downstairs and Lumiere sang 'Be Our Guest' while he was singing we laughed at the dining room furniture, cutlery, glasses and other objects dancing around him.
Once that was over, we watched as the Beast lost his temper with Lumiere; and we watched on as Belle escaped only to be surrounded and nearly attacked by in the woods by the wolves.
I held my breath again, then released it when the Beast saved her. I winced when Belle tended to his wounds, I have felt that same stinging sensation more times than I would care to admit.
I could feel Killian's breath hitch again, I'm guessing he winced too; as he's probably experienced that stinging pain in the past as well.
With each scene that passed, the Beast relented and offered Belle the use of his library, she read books at the table, they had a snowball fight, we laughed softly when Belle threw some of the snowballs in his direction and then we laughed if not slightly louder when the beast retaliated.
I wasn't sure how long we had been watching the movie, but with every scene that took place; we were nearing the end. We watched as little by little the Beast began to fall for her.
We watched on as the scene's transitioned from one to the other...
