ch12 - Lunch at Granny's
I was so lost in thought, as I looked over the paperwork on my desk, that I didn't even hear Henry and Killian enter the station.
I jumped slightly when Killian cleared his throat. I smiled as I looked up at them. Henry spoke.
"Hey mom, hey grandpa"
My dad looked up from his desk and smiled at Henry.
"Hey Henry, your mom was telling me all about your morning with Killian; I'm guessing by the look on your face introducing Killian to YouTube was a success"
Henry grinned, then nodded.
"Yeah it was awesome, we had a blast"
My dad smiled.
"So what brings you two down here?"
Henry looked at us.
"We're here is to see if you and mom wanted to go to lunch with us?"
My dad grinned, and he looked at me; we both nodded in agreement. I got up from my desk, while smiling. I made my way towards where they were standing.
I reached up and placed my arm around Henry's shoulder and pulled him into a side hug, he returned it; I quickly turned and leaned up to kiss Killian on the cheek; he placed his arms around my waist as he pulled me into a hug.
I smiled into his shoulder, after a few minutes I broke out of his embrace grabbed my jacket and phone off my desk, we then made our way out of the station.
I laughed as Henry walked out in front of us, he looked back at us, he then grinned. I shook my head as Killian and I walked out the door behind him side by side; my dad walked out behind us before turning to lock up.
We waited for him to lock the door and then we made our way down the street, Henry walked a little further ahead of us; we made our way up the street in the direction of Granny's, I smiled as I watched as Killian reached forward and placed his hand on Henry's shoulder.
Henry turned back slightly grinned at him and my dad smiled at them both as he walked behind them; as they entered the diner. I stood back and smiled internally as I watched their interaction.
I then made my way up the steps and walked in and I looked at them, and I smiled. They were sitting in our usual booth. I made my way over to them as Killian spoke, he laughed while speaking.
I laughed softly; Henry and my dad joined in the laughter while asking me to hurry up and sit down so that they could order. I rolled my eyes and made my way to sit down beside Killian.
He smiled at me, as he placed his arm around my shoulders, I leaned in slightly; finding comfort in the warmth of his embrace. My dad picked up the menus and gave us each one to look at, I smiled as they decided what they were going to order.
I shook my head as I grinned, as my dad looked at the menu in his hands. He dad spoke out loud as he was making his decision.
"I think I'll get a hamburger and fries"
I laughed, as I looked up and watched Henry as he flipped the page, before deciding to order the same thing as my dad. I grinned at them.
I placed the menu in my hands back on the table, as I knew what I was going to choose; grilled cheese sandwich with onion rings.
I knew before I looked up; my dad was smiling at me. I could feel as Killian kissed the side of my head and I grinned at Henry who rolled his eyes at me playfully.
The waitress came over, I smiled softly as I placed my order, I grinned internally as I listened to Killian as he ordered the same thing I did; it was cute, it may have taken a while but I eventually got him to like onion rings.
My dad and Henry both ordered a hamburger with fries. We asked for four glasses of soda, she smiled and then made her way to the counter to place our order.
While we waited for our food, my dad took the opportunity to continue the conversation that was started at the station and he asked Henry what he and Killian got up to this morning. Henry smiled.
" I showed him some clips from Star Trek: The Next Generation"
Killian smiled at Henry and then spoke.
"Yes, it was rather interesting; I enjoyed spending time with him this morning watching that tv show on YouTube"
We made light conversation, and then our food was placed on the table; I smiled as my plate was placed down, I thanked our waitress. She explained if we needed anything else, all we had to do was ask.
I watched as Henry lifted his hamburger, he grinned at me before he bit into it; we all ate in a comfortable silence. Nothing beats a grilled cheese sandwich with onion rings. Once we finished eating, we paid and then left.
As we left Granny's Henry hugged me again and then he spoke.
"Today was great, we'll have to do it again one day; I'm going to head home"
He hugged me.
"I'll see you next weekend mom"
He turned to Killian.
"See you later Killian"
He grinned as Henry turned to make his way home. My dad looked at us and then he spoke.
"Thanks for lunch, I'm going to go home and spend the rest of the day with Snow and Neal; I'll see you guys later"
He smiled at me, I smiled back. He hugged me, nodded at Killian and then made his way back to the loft.
Killian and I decided to take the long way home, it was a nice afternoon. Once we got home we made our way inside, we hung our jackets on the coat rack and placed our shoes under it.
We made our way into the lounge, we sat down on the couch; I got comfortable and Killian placed his arm around me, and we sat like that for a while.
We only moved off the couch to make something for dinner; and then we sat back down on the couch and watched tv, it was a great way to end the day.
