Andy has been getting really sick in the mornings.
She just brushed it off as a cold.
"Did he, um..."
"No. That's not possible."
"You had the tubes tied surgery reversed after you divorced Robert."
"Because they said it was unlikely I was gonna get pregnant after getting my tubes tied in the first place."
"Take a test. Just to be sure. Just to rule it out. Because if not, something is really wrong."
"Something is really wrong if I am."
"Well, at least we'll know what it is that's causing the throwing up."
"Carina and you can have the baby if I am pregnant. I'm in no position to be raising a baby."
"No."
"No?"
"Carina wants to experience the joy of being pregnant."
"What's fun about pushing the baby a size of a watermelon out of you?"
"She wants the joy of finding out. I don't know."
Andy rolled her eyes.
"You are very bossy for somebody ranked under me. You know that?"
"You're just scared Ross is gonna bench your ass if she finds out."
"Well, she ain't gonna find out. Unless one of you opens your mouth."
"Do you understand how dangerous it is to be fighting fires while you're pregnant?"
"Possibly pregnant."
"My bad. Possibly pregnant."
"I don't care about this baby, Maya. I don't give a damn."
"You say that until you hold that baby in your arms. You'll forget everything."
"So you say. I wouldn't be so sure of that."
"I'm sure your Mom thought the same thing when she got pregnant with you. While she was at the Fire Academy."
"You're gonna compare me to my mother? She left me and pretended to be dead for 22 years."
"No. Your Dad lied to you for 22 years."
"Really? You're gonna offend a dead person? Do you know what kind of person that makes you?"
"Andy-"
She walked away.
Maya sighed.
"She knows you didn't mean it, Bishop. She'll forgive you. It's just not in her to hold a grudge forever."
"Andy's still holding a grudge against you."
"I think she dropped it. After she divorced me because of her grudge."
She laughed.

I peed on the pregnancy test stick.
I sat it on the Bathroom counter.
I set a timer on my phone for three minutes.
I was pacing back and forth.
Three minutes later
The timer on my phone went off.
I quickly turned it off.
I picked the pregnancy test up with shaky hands.
The test was positive.
I tossed it in the trash.

Andy came out of the Bathroom.
"Well?"
"It was positive."
She shook her head.
"Unfucking believable."
Andy walked off.
