Ch14 - Mother, Daughter Shopping Day pt2

Our waitress, told us not to hesitate to ask for anything else. We thanked her again, and my mom looked at her omelet; she grinned as she cut it up.

I glanced down at my plate and felt my mouth water as I looked at the pancakes. I lifted the bottle of syrup and drowned my pancakes in it. I cut them with my fork and as I was about to place them into my mouth

When my mom laughed softly, I quirked an eyebrow.

She spoke.

"You're just like your father"

I laughed, and then spoke.

"Thanks, I guess it's his fault I like pancakes?"

We laughed, as we remembered the breakfast he made for me before Killian moved in. I still can't believe that each plate was stacked high with pancakes.

My mom tucked into her omelette, and Neal munched on some soft crackers that my mom placed on the high chair tray. I couldn't help but giggle as he inspected each cracker before placing it into his mouth.

I watched him and couldn't help but think that he was just so cute. I turned my attention back to my pancakes, we ate in a comfortable silence, and we drank our coffee.

I turned to look at Neal again, I smiled softly as he reached for more crackers. I lifted the bag and placed more on the tray, and I grinned as he babbled his thanks.

I turned back to face my mom, that's when I noticed my mom was smiling at me. I returned the smile.

She spoke again.

"Emma honey, I don't want to pry but have you and Killian thought about having kids?"

I stared at her, not knowing what to say. I finally found my voice. I tried to keep my tone light, as I still wasn't comfortable with this kind of conversation.

"Mom, Killian and I have only been married for a few weeks; and is it wrong if we're enjoying the alone time we've been having"

She nodded, and smiled softly; as she understood where I was coming from. She spoke again.

"Do you want to have another baby?"

I smiled, then spoke.

"Yeah, I guess I do; but I'm still sort of apprehensive. I mean I never really had that experience with Henry, I didn't even hold him when he was born. I just don't know if Killian wants children, I mean we haven't really had time to have that conversation"

She nodded, and then spoke again.

"Well honey, you're only going to find out if you ask him"

I nodded in agreement, we continued eating, and made light conversation; once we finished we paid our bill, and we stood up. My mom put her coat back on, and I lifted my jacket.

I helped my mom gather everything, I then turned and lifted Neal out of the high chair and placed him into his pushchair. I grinned at him as I gently tucked his blanket around him.

I smiled softly as I made sure he was comfortable; I noticed as soon as he was tucked in that his eyes were beginning to close, he then drifted off to sleep.

I smiled internally, because he wasn't always this easy to get to sleep, but he's slightly older now. I could hear my mom laugh softly as she watched our interaction, and once we were ready we left Granny's and made our way onto Main Street.

I wheeled the pushchair down the street, and my mom walked beside me, occasionally glancing at Neal; who was fast asleep.

We walked into the clothes store. I navigated Neal's pushchair into the store, my mom walked in behind us.

She spoke.

"This is one of the best clothing stores in Storybrooke Emma, I was thinking since we're here; why don't we buy some new clothes?"

I looked at her. I smiled before I spoke.

"Yeah, I think I should finally expand my wardrobe; I'll probably get some more jeans and t-shirts"

My mom laughed, as we made our way through the store; I lifted two pairs of dark coloured jeans, and a few lighter coloured t-shirts.

My mom picked out some blouses, and we made our way to the dressing rooms. My mom insisted I go first. I smiled, as I made my way into the cubicle.

I tried on a pair of the jeans with one of the t-shirts I picked. I walked out and my mom stood up, she smiled at me.

"Wow, you look wonderful Emma, you should wear t-shirts more often"

I smiled, this was the kind of activity I missed out on growing up; I smiled again.

"Thanks mom, I'm still not used to this; but it's fun"

I went back into the cubicle and changed back into the clothes I was wearing when we came in. My mom, slipped past me and closed the curtain.

I sat down beside Neal, who was still sleeping; I watched as my mom emerged wearing a light green blouse.

"That's a great colour mom, it suits you"

She grinned, and headed back in to change, we then headed towards the cash register. I let my gaze drift, that's when I spotted a pyjama set that was the same colour as Killian's eyes. I looked at my mom, who grinned at me.

"Oh Emma, it's lovely; you should get it"

I lifted it and continued making my way to the register to pay for the clothes, I smiled as the clothes were scanned and placed in a bag. I thanked the cashier and stepped aside so my mom could pay for her items.

We placed our bags on the back of Neal's pushchair, and we headed out of the store. We walked across the street and made our way into the jewellery store.

There was no harm in browsing, I walked over to one of the cases, I let my gaze fall on one item in particular; an anchor pendant. It could be added to the pendants he already wore.

Before I could lose my nerve, I felt my mom place her hand on my arm. I looked at her and she smiled softly.

I could hear the encouragement in her voice as she spoke.

"It's lovely Emma, are you thinking of getting it for Killian?"

I nodded.

"Yeah, I was thinking he could add it to the ones he already has, but I've never done something like this before mom; what if he doesn't like it?"

She rubbed my arm, and she reassured me.

"Honey, I'm sure he'll love it; and it's got a special meaning too"

I smiled, and then I got the attention of the jeweller. I listened as he explained that it was a one of a kind piece, and that was reasonably priced.

I knew it was meant to be. I smiled as I paid for it, he then wrapped it up and handed it to me. I thanked him again, and then we left the store.

I looked at my mom, and then I spoke.

"Do you think we could take a detour to the station, I was thinking we can check in on dad and I could see if Killian is there too"

My mom nodded in agreement, and we headed towards the station. Once there, mom and I made our way in and we stood in the doorway.

We spotted them sitting at my dads desk, they were looking over some paperwork; and they had the cutest looks of concentration on their faces. I giggled quietly, my mom however laughed slightly louder than I did, that's when their heads turned and they wore matching smiles.

My dad made his way towards us and placed his arms around my mom, he then turned and placed his arm around me, He spotted the bags on Neal's pushchair, he grinned at us.

Killian made his way towards me and kissed the side of my head; my mom then reached over and placed her hand on my arm again.

She spoke.

"Thank you for today Emma, I enjoyed spending time with you today; I'm sure you want to get home and to give Killian his surprise"

I felt a smile form on my face, as she mentioned the surprise; that's when Killian's attention turned to the bags that my mom handed me.

He spoke, the curiosity clear in his voice.

"What do you have in the bags swan?"

I grinned, then I spoke.

"Some new clothes, and I also have some surprises for you"

He smirked, his voice lowering; as he spoke again.

"I'm guessing by the look on your mother's face, they are good surprises?"

I nodded, and replied.

"I guess you could say that, but I'll give them to you at home; when we're alone"

We made our way out of the station and we headed home, once there we sat down on the couch and I reached down and I lifted out the bag from the jewellery store.

I handed it to him and he opened the bag, and he used his hook to tear through the wrapping paper. I giggled at his impatience, he looked up and he smiled at me. Once he unwrapped it, he looked at me again; when he didn't speak, I panicked.

I knew I shouldn't have bought it, I went to speak; when his hand covered mine. He looked at me, he smiled softly; he then spoke.

"Emma, it's a wonderful surprise; thank you love"

I smiled, letting go of the breath I didn't realise I was holding; I spoke.

"You're welcome, mom and I went into the jewellery store and it was the first thing I noticed in the case; and when the owner explained that it was one of a kind, I couldn't help but think it was perfect as you're a one of a kind pirate; I knew I had to get it for you"

He grinned again, and pulled me into his arms; he leaned down and that's when our lips met in a kiss similar to the one we shared this morning.

He pulled back. He smirked, then spoke again.

"What was the other surprise? Your mother mentioned surprises as in more than one"

I knew he picked up on that. I grinned at him.

"I'll show you the other one later, it's more of a bedroom thing"

That's when I noticed his eyes darkened with pure lust. I let out a playful scream as he lifted me and carried me out of the lounge and towards the stairs.

We got to the stairs, and I regained my composure. I then spoke.

"Killian, it's still early; surely you can wait a couple more hours"

He smiled, and I knew he probably wouldn't be able to wait that long. I looked at him, pleadingly and he nodded.

"Oh alright, I'll wait; but once it's dark, we're going up those stairs and we're not getting out of that bed until morning"

I smiled, and we spent the afternoon downstairs, and every time he reached for the bag I playfully slapped his hand away. He would use the puppy dog eyes, and I would almost cave.

But it was near lunch, and I was kind of hungry; I was glad of the distraction of food, it meant that he wouldn't go near the bag again.

Until later that was...
