Chapter 2: A Disastrous Entrance Exam
"Uh Izuku we're not going to use One for All today, right?" Ochako asked her partner as they stood in front of the UA building.
Clad in Ochako's middle school uniform and a brown coat, the fusion stood at 165 cm (5'5 feet). Hidden under the clothes they were wearing were the muscles they gained after their harsh training with All Might. They weren't buff by any means, just super athletic. If they had to compare their body shape, they would compare it to a professional swimmer.
Since this was a public setting, Ochako was the one in control. After all, hearing Izuku's voice in their fusion's body would attract all kinds of wrong attention from those who don't know the full story.
"Is that because of the 'Clench your butt cheeks and yell Smash from your heart' advice? W-Well, I can see where you're coming from." Not needing to ask why since he already read her mind, Izuku gave his answer.
"Yeah, with all the progress we made with Gravity Pads, I'm sure we'll do well!" Ochako cheerfully said to which Izuku agreed.
Truthfully, they were both nervous about the exam. But with Gravity Pads, Izuku was at least more optimistic about their prospects. He was initially going to take that same exam Quirkless after all.
"You're right. We can figure One for All after the exam. The exam isn't the proper place to test a new Quirk after all." Izuku commented.
He was immensely relieved that he had another Quirk to fall back on if he was honest. He couldn't imagine what would've happened had he gone to the Entrance Exam with his old body, which was surely weaker than the fusion's one, and tried to tackle the test while trying to figure out how to use One for All. He didn't want to admit but All Might's original plan was very bad. He would've needed a miracle to pass the exam.
"Out of my way, extra!" A very familiar voice to Izuku said before the fusion was shoved aside.
Ochako was shocked by the rudeness of the guy who just pushed them like that and frowned.
"Who is-"
She cut herself off as she felt herself crushed by the influx of emotions. However, she was clearly able to feel the fear and sadness coming from Izuku. She felt him shrinking on himself, trying to make himself as small as possible and hide from this guy.
It didn't take a brainer to realize that this was one of Izuku's bullies, and Ochako was able to put two and two together. In her anger, she couldn't help but literally smash the mental block that separated her mind from Izuku's memories about the boy. Not that it was hard since it was already weakened and cracked with the appearance of the ash blond hair teen.
In all her life, Ochako had always been known as the bright, cheerful girl, who can probably never really hate anyone. But if you asked her now who she wanted to murder she would say Katsuki Bakugo in a heartbeat. Never in her life had she ever truly felt such anger and hate towards someone before.
"Hey asshole!" She growled, causing Bakugo to turn around and see the girl he just pushed wearing a fierce scowl that matched his. "Didn't your parents teach you that it is rude to push people around while walking?!"
"Huh?" The boy took a few steps towards them, "What did you just say to me?!" He sneered.
"What are you deaf?! Maybe if your head wasn't stuck so far up in your ass you would've heard me!"
Angry, Bakugo let out a few pops out of his hand, threatening the fusion, "Don't look down on me you bitch or I'll kill you!"
"Try your luck, just don't cry when you get your ass kicked!"
The two teens were fiercely glaring at each other and at this point the commotion had attracted the attention of the other examinees.
"Ochako! W-W-What are you doing?!" Izuku was finally able to push down his fear for the moment to make sure things don't get worse.
"Teaching Bakugo his lesson."
"Baku- Wait! You destroyed a mental block and saw my memories!" Izuku said in a mixture of shock and disappointment. That was a breach of privacy. And his main bully was a whole can of worms he never wanted to open.
"Now isn't the time, Izuku. First, I gotta beat this asshole for everything he did to you, then we could talk." She said sternly, her anger towards Bakugo still present in her voice. However, Izuku didn't like how dismissive she was over breaking one of their two fusion rules. She literally broke his trust.
"What?! What are you saying?! You can't fight Kacchan! We're in front of UA! We'll get in trouble! Besides, he didn't bully me. It was just Kacchan being Kacchan. He's my-"
"Don't you dare say that he's your friend! That bastard was never and isn't your friend! He's a bully!" Ochako shouted in frustration.
"You don't know anything about our relationship! Don't pretend to understand just because you intruded on my privacy and saw some memories!" Izuku shouted back.
"I know what I saw! Besides, if he really is your friend then tell me why you were cowering inside our head? Last I checked people aren't supposed to be afraid of their friends!"
At this moment, the fusion felt themself getting grabbed by their collar, "Those eyes!" Bakugo gritted his teeth as more pops came out of his hand. "Those same green eyes that are always looking down on me. I'm going to enjoy putting you in your place, Round Face!"
Ochako's furious eyes turned to Bakugo, and Izuku knew that she was about to use their Quirk to literally glue him to the ground. But he couldn't let her. If she did, they would be banned from UA and he also couldn't let her hurt Kacchan.
And so, instantly Izuku forcefully switched with Ochako and pushed Bakugo with their hands. Their strength took the boy by surprise, who clearly was not expecting such strength from a girl his age, as their brown hair fell over their eyes, hiding their expression.
At this, another boy made his presence known. He was tall and muscular with blue hair and rectangular glasses, which went with his serious attitude that he carried. His eyes were also somewhat rectangular, as was his jaw.
"You two! Can't you see that you're causing a commotion and bothering the other examinees. Also fighting on UA campus ground is-"
The fusion tuned his rant out as they made their way to the building. In fact, they tuned out everything around them, as another fight was going on in their mind.
"Ochako! You need to calm down!" Izuku shouted.
"Clam down?! How can I be calm when you imprisoned me in our mind?! You broke one of our two rules! You betrayed the trust I put in you when we decided to share this body!" Ochako yelled at him and Izuku could feel her glaring daggers at him.
"You're not innocent either! You broke our other rule and saw some of my memories without permission!"
"So what?! Is this some sort of payback?!"
"No! You were about to use your Quirk and I just wanted to stop you before you hurt Kacchan!"
The fusion steps came to a stop. Izuku doesn't know what happened but it felt as if he was submerged in ice cold water.
"So that's how it is, huh?" Ochako's expression darkened.
"No, Ochako. Let me expla-"
"So you're taking his side. Your friend 'Kacchan' who treated you like dirt, verbally and physically abused you - for years, I might add -, and even told you to off yourself, and never bothered to apologize for anything. After all, why would he when you're the one who's always apologizing for everything he does…!"
Izuku could clearly feel the disgust in her voice, but something else was bothering him. The bond created by the Quirk felt wrong. It was weird. It was like a raging inferno, a fire that will consume anything in its path. Yet it also felt like a block of ice cracking.
"And who are you taking his side over with? Me! Your true first friend in over 10 years. One might even say your first friend. I shared my insecurities with you, my dreams, and my troubles. I treated you with care and gave you the support that no one ever gave you." Her voice began to tremble, "I'm literally your other half! Is this what I get for getting mad at your tormentor for everything he did to you? Bound and trapped in our body while suffering from your anger!"
Everything came to a stop for Izuku after Ochako stopped her rant. The sadness and anger in her voice cut deep. He knows that she betrayed his trust, and yet right now, he feels that he betrayed her in person.
And while Izuku was sure that avoiding a fight with Kacchan, that would've caused them to be banned from UA, was the right decision in the end. The way he handled it was all wrong from the beginning.
First of all, why did he call Kacchan his friend? Izuku knows that he never forgave the explosive teen for burning his notebook. The same notebook that connected him with the only two people who ever supported him before All Might and Ochako. And Izuku was sure as hell that he might never forgive Kacchan for telling him to off himself.
After all, both boys knew that he was quoting that upperclassman -and just the mention of this son of a bitch brought that old fury Izuku buried a long time ago- who said those same words to-
Izuku cleared his thoughts. Now wasn't the time to think about his old failures. He knows that he shouldn't have argued that Ka- Bakugo was his friend, because he wasn't. That was just the usual response he used to give his mother to reassure her that her Quirkless son wasn't a miserable loner.
Add to that, Bakugo was clearly going to hurt them with his Quirk. He liked to think that some rational part in Bakugo's mind would've stopped him because this is UA. But Izuku had been tormented by Bakugo for so long and always getting blamed by his teachers for 'provoking' him that he got used to it. It was normal for him to get hurt at the expense of others because he was worthless. But he was no longer Izuku, he was Izuku and Ochako which meant that if he got hurt, Ochako would also get hurt. And because he didn't realize all of these points sooner and was consumed by his emotions, he ended up protecting Bakugo by hurting Ochako. Needless to say, Izuku felt disgusted with himself.
"I'm sorry…"
The next thing Ochako knew, she was thrown into the driver's seat, and had full control of the fusion's body again, but one thing was wrong…
…Izuku had disappeared from her head.
For the first time in seven months, Ochako's mind felt empty. It was silent, and she didn't like it at all.
U.A Hero Course Entrance Exam Orientation:
Ochako sat in her seat, her mind occupied with thoughts of Izuku. During the entire written exam, she couldn't concentrate at all. She was panicking over his disappearance when she felt the answers to the test coming to her mind, and realized that it was Izuku who somehow gave her the answer without talking or projecting his thoughts, which led to her getting distracted once again before Izuku gave her another answer. It was a cycle that was repeated till the end of the written test.
And so, as she spent the entire written exam thinking about Izuku, she came to a few revelations that she oh so wanted to smack herself for not realizing earlier.
The first was that she was about to attack a fellow UA examinee on UA campus before the Entrance Exam using her Quirk. No doubt they would've failed the exam before even taking it.
The second was that while she saw Izuku's memories, she never thought about them from Izuku's perspective.
It became clear to her once she tried to imagine herself in Izuku's place that Izuku was just desperate to be Bakugo's friend. A desperation that was very unhealthy in her mind, but it kinda made sense. Or at least she thought so until she saw the last memories.
Bakugo, she begrudgingly admitted, was Izuku's friend when they were toddlers. Even then he wasn't the best friend you could make -after all he still made Izuku the butt of his jokes whenever they hung out with his lackeys- but he was still his only friend. Izuku lost all hope to make other friends once everyone knew that he was Quirkless. He then saw everyone praising Bakugo for his Quirk, saying that he was the second coming All Might which fed the boy's ego more and more, andIzuku mistook that for confidence.
So with all that evidence, it was clear that Izuku saw Bakugo as a kid with a powerful Quirk he could never have, who won every fight he found himself into, and with a confidence that he clearly lacked, and the only one who could maybe befriend him since they were friends when they were toddlers.
So he stuck to the boy like glue. It was really unhealthy how he always followed him no matter how many times the other boy hurt him. And when he got the memo that every time he followed the boy he would get hurt, he started to stalk him from afar like some creepy stalker. Just like that one time he watched him beat some older kids.
Now of course, Ochako knew that Izuku wasn't a stalker. Izuku just thought that by sticking to Bakugo, he could become strong and confident like him. But as a kid, Izuku didn't understand that Bakugo isn't the type of 'friend' who lifts his friends up with him. It was the opposite, he just keeps pushing them down to make sure he stays at the top. So Izuku kept getting pushed down by Bakugo which really fucked up his mental health.
The memories of their time in middle school aren't as clear as the others for some reason. But from what she gathered, Izuku suddenly stopped following Bakugo. She was surprised though when she saw that Bakugo was the one who started to seek him out to bully him. It contradicted the both boys' previous behaviors since it was clear as day that during elementary school, Bakugo wished for nothing else but for Izuku to disappear from his life.
Something then happened during their second year. She doesn't know what exactly, but it definitely caused two issues. Izuku closed off on himself which transformed him later into a nervous wreck who always questioned if he can really be a Hero without a Quirk. After that, the boy became once again desperate to be acknowledged by Bakugo. Heck, the desperation was worse than before. Was he seeking acknowledgement from Bakugo because he is the strongest person he personally knew?
And finally, the day of the Sludge Villain, Ochako noticed that after Izuku was told to off himself, he looked furious. She never saw him this angry before. He might have even punched the other boy in the face or something, but he clearly restrained himself. Not out of fear mind you, but because he didn't want to cause trouble. Maybe he guessed that the school would ruin his future if he attacked their 'golden boy'.
When Izuku saw Bakugo in the clutches of the Sludge Villain, the amount of fear she could see on the boy's face wasn't normal. In fact, he looked as if he was about to have a panic attack. He was clearly…
…traumatized. As if reliving an old memory.
After seeing all of those memories and analyzing them, Ochako had discovered two things about Izuku. He was suffering some kind of trauma that coupled with Bakugo's treatment over the years gave him a martyr complex. And that did nothing to ease her current worries about her best friend…
…
…
As the last few people entered, the lights turned out, and out in center stage was none other than the Voice Hero, Present Mic, also known as Hizashi Yamada.
"What's up, UA candidates! Thanks for tuning into me, your school DJ. COME ON AND LET ME HEAR YA!" Present Mic shouted to only receive silence as a response.
"Keeping it mellow huh? That's fine, I'll skip straight to the main show. Let's talk about how this practical Exam is going to go down okay. ARE YOU READY!?"
Again, silence.
Ochako thought that this is the moment Izuku would come out again and gush over Present Mic but there was nothing but silence in her mind. She even tried to switch with him and bring him out but couldn't.
"Like your application says, today you rocking boys and girls will be out there conducting 10 minute mock battles in super hip urban settings. After I drop the mic here, you'll head to your specified Battle Center, sound good?"
For the third consecutive time, Present Mic received nothing but silence from his audience. Man, talk about embarrassing!
"Izuku look we're in Battle Center B." She began, desperately wanting to start a conversation and hear his voice. But she was met with silence.
"Okay okay! Let's check out your targets. There are three types of Faux Villains in every Battle Center. You'll earn points based on their level of difficulty, so you better choose wisely. The goal in this trial is to use your Quirk to raise your score by immobilizing the faux Villains. But check it! Attacking other examinees and any other unheroic actions are strictly prohibited!"
Ochako suddenly felt a plan forming up in her head on how to tackle the exam. It was definitely Izuku which made her relax a bit knowing that he was still there somewhere, but she was still sad and worried about him.
"May I ask a question?" One examinee asked.
"Okay!" Present Mic pointed towards the examinee as a spotlight was put on him.
"On the printout, there are four types of Villains. If that is a misprint, then U.A, the most prominent school in Japan, should be ashamed of that foolish mistake! We examinees are here in this place because we wish to be molded into exemplary heroes." Ochako noticed that the person who spoke was the same boy who was lecturing her and Bakugo earlier.
"Okay, okay, Examinee Number 7111. Thanks for the great message. The fourth type of Villain is worth zero points. That guy's an obstacle, so to speak. There's one in every Battle Center. It's an obstacle that will go crazy in narrow spaces. It's not impossible to defeat, but there's no reason to defeat it, either. I recommend that you listeners try to avoid it." Present Mic said, finishing his explanation of the fourth Villain.
"Thank you very much! Please excuse the interruption." The serious kid sat back down.
"I see… It's like the obstacles you avoid in video games, huh?"
"The whole thing is like a video game." Said other examinees in the auditorium as they absorbed the information they just learned about the upcoming Practical Exam.
"That's all from me. Finally, I'll give you listeners a present-our school motto! The hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said: 'A true hero is someone who overcomes life's misfortunes.' Go beyond… PLUS ULTRA! Now everyone, good luck suffering!"
Battle Center B:
The bus arrived at the Battle Center, and everyone was immediately mesmerized. The setting for the Practical Exam is a giant mock city with many tall buildings and structures. It just goes to show how top notch of a school UA is. To be able to afford to have access to all of these building sites is incredible.
However, one student wasn't fazed by the sight of the Battle Center. Try as she might, Ochako couldn't stop thinking about Izuku and what happened to him. And as time passed it, his missing presence filled her with both worry and frustration. How could she explain it? It's like she lost a part of herself. After all, Izuku really became a big part of her life since they fused.
As she stood in front of the giant gates of the Battle Center, she closed her eyes and tried to find him. Both she and Izuku often compared their fused minds to a car. When they first fused, one would sit at the driver's seat while the other would sit in the back. After some time, they learned that by sitting in the other front seat they could switch faster and easier as well as communicate freely at the same time without switching.
Right now, Izuku wasn't in any seat. So where was he? She put some thought into it and realized that he was in the trunk. That could be the only place he could go to after all.
She tried to imagine her hand going through the backseat and reaching for his. She couldn't find it. It was obvious that he was avoiding her. But she felt his immense guilt, self-loathing and sadness.
Of course, he would blame himself for everything. She thought and it made her hate towards Bakugo increase more.
She tried to push more, desperately trying to reach him. She felt something and tried to grab it. It was resisting her, but she continued to pull.
"Come on, Izuku! I won't let you stay in there and blame yourself for everything! We both wronged each other, so no need to punish yourself!" She felt him falter for a moment before he tried to escape again.
"Come on, come on! Get out of there!" She felt his resolve weakening the more she pulled. "Almost there! Almos-"
Ochako was broken out of her concentration by a hand on their shoulder. She looked back and saw the same serious boy with glasses.
"You again! You've been muttering this whole time! It's distracting! Are you taking the Entrance Exam to interfere with everyone else?" The boy asked in a stern voice that was equally matched by his stern glare.
Ochako didn't care though, she was so close to getting Izuku back and he's the one who interrupted her!
She brushed his hand off, "The only one who has been distracting others today is you! First during the explanation and now this! Now leave me alone!"
At this, the gates finally opened to start the practical portion of the Entrance Exam.
"Okay, start!" Present Mic shouted.
Everybody stood there confused as they failed to process what was going on.
"What's wrong? There are no countdowns in real fights! Run, run! The die has been cast, you know! Look, there's already one examinee who's way ahead of all of you!"
Everyone was shocked to see the fusion already running ahead, destroying robots by simply slapping them. Once they got over their shock, they all ran after the powerful fusion.
Meanwhile, Ochako was working over her frustration by destroying robots left and right. Izuku's plan was so simple yet effective. Set the Gravity Pads to downward shift mode, increase it to 20 times Earth Gravity and slap all the robots they come across. That way any robot they touch would immediately get pinned to the ground and then destroyed either by the collision of the force of gravity.
Since they increased their maximum weight with downward shift to 10 tons, she didn't have to worry about releasing the gravity shift before she became nauseous.
"Let's see. Seven one-pointers, five two-pointers and three three-pointers. That makes 26 points now." She absently counted after destroying the fifteenth robot.
Another one pointer snuck up behind the fusion, but Ochako didn't waste time and quickly slapped it.
She noticed a blond boy adorned with an unusual smile and what looked like seventeenth-century European clothing, a few feet from the robot, hands behind his head.
He must have missed his chance at destroying the robot before I did. I'm sure his Quirk has something to do with the belt he's weari- No time for Quirk analysis, I have to get more points. I'm definitely blaming Izuku for that.
Meanwhile in the Judges' Room:
"In this Practical Exam, the examinees have not been informed of the number of Villains or their locations. They have a limited amount of time in a vast area. They have to draw the Villains out from there." It was a dark room with many monitors showing each of the examinees and how they were conducting in the Practical Exam.
There were U.A. staff members sitting in chairs as they assessed the performance of the examinees and how they decided to adapt to the conditions that were just previously stated.
"Information gathering ability to understand the situation before anyone else."
A monitor showed a big bulky examinee with what seemed to be tentacles on a rooftop using his arms to scan or look for something.
"Mobility that can be used in many different circumstances."
Another monitor showed the serious guy with the glasses, using his speed to pick off enemies one by one.
"Discernment to be able to stay calm in any situation."
The blonde french kid was shown shooting a laser from a device on his waist and decimating the Faux Villains with complete and utter confidence.
"And pure combat ability."
A monitor screen showed Bakugo in a path of utter destruction as all around him were fallen robots with smoke all around them. He looked like a lunatic as he was laughing like a crazed psychopath who has been let out of his cage. Everything that came in his way, he destroyed using his Explosion Quirk which is an ability very suitable for this Practical Exam. He just wished Deku was here. If he saw him, he would've destroyed him too and anyone else who dared to try and stand in his way. Well, at least the damn nerd finally listened to him for once and didn't go to UA, thus not ruining his perfect backstory, right?
If only he knew the truth.
"These basic abilities needed to keep the peace in the streets are turned into points in this test."
"Doesn't this year's group look promising?" A feminine voice asked.
One monitor showed the fusion, pressing their fingers together as they finally released the effect of Gravity Shift. They then saw the fusion destroying a three-pointer before it could hurt an examinee with dark, short purple hair and long earphone jacks thus saving her.
"Especially that girl right there. You can tell from her build that she's quite strong for a girl her age, and with her Quirk she's massacring those robots. She's racking up a good amount of both Villain and Rescue Points." The same female judge said, happy to see a girl holding her own and proving herself.
"Well, we can't know for sure yet. Their true test is still to come." Another staff member said as he pressed a large red button…
Battle Center B:
"Release!" Ochako said as she canceled Gravity Shift, "Alright, that's about 68 points now. That should be more than enough to pass, but since there's still more time left, I should aim to do better." Ochako reflected before she headed to the main square where most robots were.
The plan Izuku suggested had her pick up the robots that were in the alleyways, since everyone would naturally go after the robots in the main street and main square. However, she already destroyed those, and there was little time left. So now was the time to go to the main square and see if she can get any additional points.
But before she could start moving to destroy more robots, the ground began to rumble as buildings around her began to collapse. The other examinees looked up to see what was going on, and what they saw scared the living daylights out of them.
Standing taller than all of the buildings was a humongous green robot with eight red eyes. It had hands the size of trucks that effortlessly crushes the top of tall buildings. It had a base the size of a tank with about 12 to 16 wheels and along its body, it had missiles that could be fired simultaneously in all possible directions. It looked like all three types of robots combined into one but then multiply the size by like 100.
"T-T-That robot is huge! Is that really the Zero-Pointer we're supposed to avoid?!" Ochako questioned in a mix of shock, fear and awe at the sight of the behemoth.
The Zero-Pointer then proceeded to throw a punch towards the ground which caused a giant dust wave that momentarily blinded all of the examinees as they were forced to cover their eyes. When the dust wave settled, all other examinees began to run for their lives as they didn't want to be in the Zero-Pointer's path of chaos and destruction.
The young man with the glasses that called out Ochako before, ran by the fusion who was still standing there frozen. He shook his head and kept on running away from the Zero-Pointer along with everyone else.
"LESS THAN TWO MINUTES LEFT!" Present Mic shouted as he reminded the examinees how much time they had left. Not that it mattered as their main priority was to get away from the giant killer Zero-Pointer as fast as possible.
"Less than two minutes!?" Ochako said in shock. She had to get away from that robot and gain more points before it reached her.
She then felt a familiar presence in her mind, easing her worries like he did every time she was nervous or scared of something.
"Izuku…"
"Yes. I'm here now."
But just about when the fusion was going to turn around and run away, they heard something…
"Ow!"
Ochako stopped and turned back around. Under a pile of debris and pieces of buildings was a dark green haired girl with a face that reminded them of a frog. Her leg seemed to be stuck and she couldn't get out.
Next thing Ochako knew she was sitting in the other front seat, Izuku was already in the driver's seat and running towards the girl.
He pressed a pinkie to a thumb, then slapped their chest, shifting the gravity upwards, causing them to soar in the sky until they were face to face with the Zero-Pointer.
The staff members of UA widened their eyes as they saw what was transpiring in Battle Center B. They weren't expecting one of the examinees to face the Zero Pointer head on by herself. A skinny examiner wearing black clothes and a white scarf could be seen coming out of his yellow sleeping bag, wanting to see how this scene would play out.
"Squeeze your buttocks…" Izuku repeated his mentor's words as he summoned One for All in their arm.
The other examinees stopped running away. Everyone was looking at the fusion in awe of her courage, including both the serious kid with glasses and the green haired girl who was still trapped.
"… and yell this inside your heart-"
Izuku remembered what he and Ochako discussed before the Entrance Exam and All Might's warning about the backlash. Not wanting to risk any injury to their Gravity Pads, he let the power dissipate from his arm.
Instead, the full power of One for All coursed through the veins in their leg. Once he flew above the Zero-Pointer, Izuku canceled the effect of the upward shift and slapped their chest with the other hand, causing a downward shift.
"SMASH!"
Izuku yelled as he smashed the Zero-Pointer in the head with an axe kick. The robot's head caved in and flattened as many explosions erupted from its metallic body before its wheels exploded causing the robot to fall backward, effectively immobilizing it.
Izuku couldn't feel the pain of their broken leg. He was so shocked by the power of One for All that his mind was still processing what just happened. He has One for All, All Might's Quirk, the same power he just used to decimate the Zero-Pointer. It was surreal. Had he tried to take on that same behemoth a year ago, he would've been six feet under the ground. Today with the combination of two Quirks, he decimated this incredible foe.
"ONE MINUTE LEFT!" Present Mic's words managed to bring Izuku back to reality.
As expected, the pain of a broken leg brought tears to the fusion's eyes. It was unbearable. However, he needed to save Ochako and himself before they fell to their death. Pressing their fingers together and releasing the effect of Gravity Shift in order to slow their descent, Izuku switched to Zero Gravity and waited until they were close to the ground before he slapped their chest, causing them to float above the ground.
"Safe." He muttered, still shaken by the frightening experience.
Next thing he knew, he felt something long and slimy wrap around his waist. Upon turning around he discovered that it was the tongue of the green haired girl he just saved. He let himself get pulled towards her before he activated Zero Gravity, freeing her from the debris that trapped her. Once she got out, she gently pulled him to the ground where he sat and released the effect of Zero Gravity.
"STOP!" Present Mic yelled, but no one seemed to hear him despite his loud voice. They were all just standing there in shock at the display of power they just witnessed.
"Izuku let me switch with you. You're in so much pain."
"No, I won't switch with you. I'm the one who broke our leg. I deserve this."
"No, it's my fault. I'm the one who was taking the practical exam, if I had acted faster or thought of another solution this would've never happened." Ochako argued back stubbornly, but right now Izuku was equally stubborn.
"You shouldn't have taken the exam alone in the first place. We should've done this together. If I hadn't messed up before the Entrance Exam none of this would've happened."
"Kero. Thanks for saving me earlier, are you okay? Do you need help?" The green haired girl with a frog Quirk asked.
"No, you already did enough. You handled the written exam alone and even came up with a plan for the practical. I should've handled this alone yet I failed. Besides, it was my fault too. So let me do this." And with that she forcefully switched with Izuku.
"Yes. Just broke my leg, and I need medical attention. Also thank you for your help earlier." Ochako answered in a strained voice. The other girl thought it was because of the broken leg, but it was because Ochako was trying to fight Izuku from gaining back control.
"No! I've already caused you enough pain today! I won't cause you more." At that, Izuku managed to wrestle control from Ochako.
"I'll try to find someone who can help. I'll be back quickly, kero." The green haired girl said before she left.
"I told you I forgave you, and that I was sorry because I shouldn't have acted on my anger!" She shouted as she gained control once again.
While the two teenagers were bickering, other examinees began to make their way back to the gate, whereas others were still gawking at the destruction caused by one girl.
One of them was the serious boy with glasses who was staring at the fusion as if they were a piece of puzzle. He wondered if there was something more to saving that other girl from the Zero-Pointer.
"It's my fault!" Izuku shouted.
"No, it's mine!" Ochako shouted back.
The two teens kept shouting back and forth while fighting for control when suddenly the fusion's body began to glow and they separated into two glowing forms.
All the people who were still there turned their attention back to the fusion, wondering what was happening this time.
When the glowing stopped all that was left was an Ochako Uraraka wearing an oversized jacket and trousers and a naked Izuku Midoriya.
This is the scene that the frog girl and an elderly lady came to once they arrived at the fusion's last whereabouts.
"AAAAAAHHHHH!" Izuku freaked out and screamed as he covered his manhood though at the moment he hadn't noticed yet.
Ochako, who was the first to realize their predicament, wanted to protect his dignity quickly and threw him her jacket, leaving her in a sleeveless black shirt. "Cover our chest! I mean your chest!"
"Yes! Yes! I have to cover m- Wait, I don't even have a chest!"
Ochako facepalmed at her stupidity, "Right you're a boy again! So I don't know. Just cover your manhood!"
"Right!" The boy quickly wrapped the jacket around his waist.
"Kero?"
The two teens' attention snapped back to the green haired girl, who despite the deadpan expression on her face, was clearly confused about what just happened.
"It's a long story. Basically we were the girl that you just met a moment ago." Ochako tried to explain but the girl was still confused.
"We'll talk about that later. Let's get you two healed first." The old lady interjected as she kissed both teens causing their legs to heal.
"Oh my god, it's Recovery Girl! Sh-" Izuku was about to enter his fanboy mode but passed out along with Ochako.
Said Heroine just sighed and called for the medical bots to carry the two teens to her infirmary.
Meanwhile in the Judges' Room:
"HAHAHAHA!" Everything was silent except for the mad cackling coming from Principal Nezu.
"WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?!" Present Mic shouted, clearly flabbergasted by what he just saw.
"Problem Children." The guy in all black with a scarf sighed, knowing that the rat will add those troublesome kids to his class.
"I have to say, those first years are more interesting than I first thought." The only woman in the room said in a seductive voice as she licked her lips.
"Sir, can you please explain what just happened?" A literal block of cement asked, turning towards the most dangerous creature on the planet.
"Hmm, let's see here. Those two are Izuku Midoriya and Ochako Uraraka. They were hit by a fusion Quirk during a Villain attack seven months ago and became that other girl we just saw. Since there wasn't a lot of information about the fusion Quirk as it belonged to a child, they had no idea if it was permanent or not." Nezu explained with a smile that filled people with dread as he sipped his cup of tea.
Just what was this Rat Lord planning now?
"I guess that explains why the girl had two Quirks." The same cement block noted.
"Correct, Cementos. Uraraka's Quirk was Zero Gravity before she updated her registry a few months ago and changed it to Gravity Pads thanks to a discovery made by Midoriya." Nezu who started to explain winked at All Might, who whipped his head towards him in utter shock of how he gained this information. "As for Midoriya, he was originally Quirkless until last week when it was discovered that he has an enhancement Quirk that breaks his bones whenever he uses it due to a lack of control." Nezu continued, his eyes gleaming in a dangerous way when he mentioned Midoriya.
All Might, who had sighed in relief when Nezu made a perfect cover for One for All, coughed up blood when he saw how Nezu eyed Young Midoriya.
None had the courage to speak until the silence was broken by the man with the scarf.
"Are you going to put Midoriya in the Hero Course? It seems irrational to me. If he breaks his bones every time he uses his Quirk, he'll only be a liability, sir."
"It's true that this is an issue, but before we reach any conclusions we should first see how the fusion affected those two teens. After all, it might be the reason why Midoriya gained a Quirk in the first place, so we should check on them to see how they're doing after defusing. Besides, even if the boy still retains his destructive Quirk, I have full confidence that Midoriya will be able to find some way to control it before the school year starts. After all, I'll expect nothing less from my future pet."
"Pet?" All Might spoke. He already understood that the kids defusing will lead to something that no one knows about except Nezu. And since he didn't tell them then it wasn't dangerous. But calling Young Midoriya a pet filled him with worries.
"Pet, personal student, protege, it's all the same for me. As you humans say 'Potato Potato'" The Rat Lord quoted before he laughed maniacally once again.
Recovery Girl's Infirmary:
Izuku slowly opened his eyes, adjusting to his surroundings as well as remembering the most recent events that happened.
He slowly moved out of the bed and went to the toilet to check himself out in the mirror.
It had been seven months since Izuku last saw his reflection and to say he changed a lot would be an understatement.
Standing at 170 cm (5'7 feet), no longer the same scrawny kid he last saw. He was still slim yet well built. He had less muscle mass than the fusion, but that's to be expected. The fusion was just that much stronger and Izuku attributed his current build thanks to the training the fusion did.
As he moved to focus on his face, he noticed that his freckles were still present as well as his green eyes. It wasn't until he inspected his hair that he got his first shock.
"W-W-What happened to my hair?!" Izuku cried out as standing in front of his forest green hair was a flock of white hair that wasn't there before.
He moved his hand to grab it when he noticed the Gravity Pads on the tips of his fingers.
"I h-have Ochako's Quirk…"
As the realization hit, he started to panic. Did he take her Quirk when they defused? Does that mean she was Quirkless now?
Immediately, he ran off to her bed and inspected her hands. When he saw the Gravity Pads, he sighed in relief.
His thoughts drifted to One for All next. If both he and Ochako now have Gravity Pads the same should theoretically apply to One for All.
It made him feel better. At least, he wasn't a leech that just fused with her to gain her Quirk and leave her with nothing. After today, it was clear to him that he was undeserving of Ochako. The fact that they defused solidified that statement.
He then brushed strands of hair that covered her mouth when his eyes picked up something. A pink planet with green rings tattoo not unlike Saturn sitting on the left side of her neck.
"I don't think that's a simple tattoo." Izuku muttered as he went back to the mirror where he saw a green planet with pink rings tattooed on the right side of his neck. "I guess I'll have to add more information in my notebook."
After inspecting himself and making sure that there were no other changes, Izuku changed into a PE UA uniform provided by the school. Ochako was still sleeping so Izuku spent his time writing about his discoveries in his notebook and writing some theories.
A while later, he closed his notebook and pondered about One for All.
If the fusion wasn't strong enough then it also means that using One for All is out of the question for both Ochako and I. At least I'm relieved to know that we're proper vessels since we didn't blow up. However, is there no other way to use One for All? He thought as he closed his eyes and started to remember all the videos he watched of All Might.
As the self proclaimed 'All Might's Number One Fan', Izuku watched hundreds of All Might videos where he saw his predecessor use One for All. He compared the way he used it today and the way his mentor did Hero Work all the time, and one thing became clear. Almost all of the time, All Might is holding back. It made sense after seeing the kind of damage he did to the Zero Pointer, that kind of power could kill easily if not restrained, and All Might punched Villains all the time.
So he has to find a way to control One for All. That's the first step.
If the power he used today was 100% then Izuku needed to find the right percentage that his body can currently withstand. This wasn't an easy endeavor because he can't gauge One for All after one trial. He needed to use it more even if it meant breaking his bones.
He took a glance at Ochako who was still sleeping. He had to find a way to control it fast. Otherwise, she'll break her bones too.
If he had to describe how it felt to use One for All, Izuku would say that it's like an egg in a microwave. The limb he's trying not to break and damage is the egg, and the radiation is One for All. It was a stupid analogy and unusual, but it was fitting.
But still, if I want to control One for All, this analogy would do me no good. After all, there's nothing to describe the control I need, and it was made after my first use of the Quirk which ended with my leg broken.
Izuku then started to bounce some ideas on how to add a control feature to help him control One for All when he gained an idea.
Instead of a microwave, I'll use an oven. The egg is the limb in which I channel One for All. One for All will be the heat. And the heat adjuster will be the method of control!
Now he just needed to test it. With Recovery Girl here, she could just heal him later.
"I'll need more than one try if I want to gauge One for All… Hmm, maybe I could channel it in my toes since I'm worried about the Gravity Pads." Izuku sat on his bed as he channeled One for All in his largest toe and stifled a cry of pain when it fractured. "At least it's not completely mangled. I should lower the temperature." He tried another toe that quickly bruised, leaving Izuku in more pain.
The next toe still suffered an injury, but it was better and Izuku was finally able to properly gauge One for All.
Channeling 10% in his injured leg, Izuku marveled at the feeling of power coursing through his veins.
"This is it!" He managed to control One for All! He'll definitely need more practice but at least he won't be injuring himself anymore.
For some unknown reason, Izuku thought he heard the sound of mad cackling, but that was quickly dismissed by a feeling of dread that suddenly fell upon the room.
Izuku gulped, slowly turned back, and saw that Ochako had finally woken up. What made him flinch and break in cold sweat though was the piercing glare she fixed him with.
"Uh… ah i-i-it's nice to see that you're doing well Ochako." He stammered as he quickly avoided his gaze. He couldn't look at her right now, not when she was looking at him like that.
On another note, this could be technically considered their first face to face meeting (he wanted to forget about the incident that happened earlier), and yet it felt like he had already seen her many times before.
"Yes, I'm doing very well unlike some idiot who injured himself further in order to learn how to control One for All." She replied in an icy tone that he never thought would come from her.
"Wait, you were awake?! I-I-I mean control One for All. I don't know anything about that. None at all." Izuku quickly tried to cover his blunder.
Shit, shit, shit. I thought she was asleep. When did she wake up?
"When you were muttering about adjusting the heat and injuring your second toe."
Izuku's gaze snapped to the girl wide eyed at what she just did.
"Yes. I can still read your thoughts and hear them just like when we were fused Izuku. So tough luck trying to bullshit with me." If Izuku needed any confirmation that A. Ochako was angry and B. Ochako really caught him red handed. It was this, because A. she swore and B. she didn't move her lips.
"W-W-What? How? I mean we aren't fused anymore, so how did we retain this ability? Is this like the Quirk Share and the weird tattoos? I wonder if there are any differences now that we're not fused. Maybe we could test for distance…" He stopped his muttering mid rant as he saw that she was not amused. He faked a cough, "Right. Uh yeah, you got me. I injured myself but gained control over One for All and can now help you so that you don't injure yourself." He smiled sheepishly.
He knew he was fucked and was currently praying for a miracle to save him.
Just then, the door opened revealing three people, Recovery Girl, All Might in his weaker form and Principal Nezu.
"Young Midoriya, Young Uraraka."
"All Might! What are you doing here?" He was surprised to see his mentor in UA though not unhappy since he literally came to his rescue. Who knows what Ochako would have done to him?
"Well you see, you're looking at UA's newest staff member. I wasn't going to tell you two until a week from now but your special circumstances forced my hand."
Upon hearing this, Izuku immediately went into fanboy mode. "I can't believe this! All Might is going to be a teacher at UA! This is so exciting! I wonder what will he be tea-"
"Izuku you're muttering." Ochako cut him off.
"Ah sorry. I mutter whenever I get excited or nervous."
"It's okay, Midoriya. Since you and Uraraka have already met everyone here except me, allow me to introduce myself. Am I a mouse, dog or bear? Well that's for me to know and you to find out. But you should know that I'm Principal Nezu. Also Shuzenji and I know about One for All, so no need to worry about keeping any secrets." He finished his introduction, which surprised both Izuku and Ochako, by jumping on the former's bed.
"I know. I have so many notes about your Quirk in my 'Hero Analysis Journal Volume 10'." Izuku excitedly said.
"Oh?" Nezu's eyes gleamed with interest.
"Well, I'm sure we could talk about that later. But more importantly you all should know that that idiot over there injured himself again using One for All." Izuku flinched under Ochako's voice. He forgot about that in his excitement.
"What? Again?!" Recovery Girl shouted, shooting him a disapproving look.
"Okay in my defense, I believe that I made the right choice. From my analysis of One for All, the Quirk has grown so much thanks to All Might having it for decades. I'm pretty sure that even he was surprised by the damage the Quirk did to the fusion's body. If he knew, I'm pretty sure he would've given us the Quirk earlier than today to practice with it." Izuku pointed at skinny Might who gave a nod of agreement. "So given that, I deduced that what we would need to work on is control. But of course gauging the amount of One for All we can control is no easy task, and since I was already in Recovery Girl's infirmary, I decided not to wait for the inevitable injuries that would come and control the Quirk right here and there." He lifted his foot, showing his injured toes. "And hey, I even succeeded. Look!" Izuku then proceeded to channel 10% of One for All in his arm, showing his success.
Nezu smiled. Izuku Midoriya was a much more interesting human than he gave him credit for.
"All of your arguments are logical. I'm also impressed that you deduced that both you and Uraraka will be sharing Gravity Pads and One for All. Yes I noticed that from your wording." Nezu added when Izuku raised an eyebrow. "It seems you already have some of your own theories on Fusion that we'll discuss in a moment. Also overcoming a hurdle with your Quirk and finding a solution in a single day showed that your Quirk Analysis skills are beyond what I even estimated…"
"T-Thank you, sir. I'm not really that special. I believe that anyone could've done that." Izuku blushed in embarrassment. He wasn't still used to people complimenting him. He also missed the concerned looks that everyone shot him.
"…Ahem, well that being said. You used your Quirk without permission, and tested a new Quirk without supervision. What would have happened if you had hurt yourself worse than you already did or even Uraraka."
Izuku paled as Nezu finished his explanation. The principal was right. He didn't think about that. He already saw the damage One for All can do. If the testing he did had gone wrong here…
"I'm sorry Principal Nezu. In my haste to control One for All, I didn't think about what could've happened if my theories were wrong." The green haired boy frowned. All he thought about that time was to prevent Ochako from breaking her bones.
"It's fine, don't worry. Just don't make it a habit from now on." Nezu replied.
"Yes, Sir."
Recover Girl then used her Quirk to heal Izuku while grumbling about a reckless predecessor finding a reckless successor.
Izuku then looked at Ochako, to see if she wanted to add something to the conversation but she was oddly silent.
"Very well," A clap from Nezu caught his attention, "I believe we now have to discuss the de-fusion. Midoriya, please tell us everything you noticed."
Izuku sat straight and looked at everyone in the room. It was time to share his theories.
"First thing that I've noticed after we defused, is a change in physical shape."
"Tell me more." The Rat Lord urged him.
"Both Uraraka and I suffered a muscle mass decrease. Simply we're physically weaker than our fusion which makes sense since the fusion had our total muscle mass when we fused. That being said, the gains the fusion got were extraordinary to say the least. My body is stronger than what it would've been had I completed All Might's training by myself. Also, this was already established with Dr. Nishikawa, but the fusion height and weight were more or less the average between both Ochako and I, so I believe that any height or weight gains the fusion received would be shared as well." Izuku explained and judging from Ochako's thoughts she was happy about the muscle and height increase. Not that he could blame her since he liked all of that too.
"Excellent!" Nezu looked excited for some reason, and Izuku didn't understand why All Might was sweating and looking pale. "What else have you noticed?"
"Quirk Sharing. Ochako and I share both One for All and Gravity Pads. However, I believe we'll need to do some tests with Gravity Pads. The fusion was much stronger than us, so it stands correct that our limits would be weaker than the fusion's. There is also the fact that Ochako was the original wielder of Gravity Pads, so it makes me curious if that will have an any influence." Izuku continued, causing Nezu to smile in glee.
"Anything else?" Nezu prompted.
"We still have our Telepathic Link. It's definitely different compared to the one we had when we were fused. We would have to test it along Gravity Pads. We also have some kind of tattoos on our necks. A planet with rings with the colors green and pink reversed." Ochako grabbed her neck once she heard this, and shot a curious look at Izuku's tattoo to gain an idea about what hers looks like.
"And what is your theory about all this?" Nezu asked his final question. This was more than enough evidence that Izuku Midoriya has a capable mind that must be nurtured, and that he would do well by becoming his personal student.
"I have two ideas about all of this. Either we've completely defused and this is the result of a prolonged fusion because if you don't know the first case was simply put, disastrous. Or we're not physically fused anymore, but we're still connected in some way. But I'm leaning towards the first one, Sir."
Nezu raised an eyebrow in interest, "Hmm, can you please tell me why?"
"Simply put, while fused it felt as if Ochako and I lived in a car. One would be in the driver's seat, the other in the backseat. Later on when our connection grew, we managed to gain access to the other front seat. It made whoever was sitting there able to freely speak even if the other was speaking at the same time. When we defused it felt as if we exited the car and left it locked with no way in."
"I would have to disagree on that. Both theories are sound, but can be disproved." Nezu protested.
"Sir?"
"You said that you defused and that there was no connection, and yet there are two connections which are your Quirks and Telepathic Link. I also don't believe that those tattoos are just aesthetics. What if they are symbols of those connections? And yet all of this could be wrong too, and the Quirk Share and Telepathic Link are just lasting effects of the Fusion Quirk like you said. But would that make those tattoos the keys to the car you mentioned? If so, then it means that you two can fuse again hence you're still connected. So both theories are false as nothing seems to be concrete proof yet."
Izuku stiffened upon hearing the last question. Nezu raised several good points, but Izuku didn't want to believe that it was possible to fuse again with her. He didn't want to hurt her again.
"No, I think it's impossible to fuse again. It would be as if we gained the Fusion Quirk." He weakly protested and looked away, missing the sad look Ochako shot him. He knew that his argument sounded flimsy at best, but he had nothing else to say.
Nezu, who didn't miss this interaction, decided not to comment further. He already had five theories on why the kids defused and this small interaction gave him the answer to which one is correct.
"Sir, I think we missed something. The flock of white hair that Young Midoriya seems to possess now. Could that be another effect of Fusion?" All Might interjected.
"Huh? So that's why I found the white hair weird. It was never there." Ochako idly commented.
"Hmm, I have more or less of an idea. Nothing confirmed, but I would like to hear Midoriya's opinion first." Nezu replied, causing Izuku to snap back to attention.
"R-Right. I don't think it's because of Fusion. You could argue that something happened during the arrangement of the DNA process when we were separating, and yet it didn't happen to Ochako nor the two kids who fused before us. I thought that maybe it could be One for All, but again you don't have white hair and as your biggest fan I know you don't dye your hair. Also, again Ochako didn't gain white hair. I think it might be something in the family. I will just have to ask Mom about it later."
"Correct. A flock of white hair would do no one any harm. It matches my fur too, so I'm biased to say that it looks good." Nezu commented.
"Thank you, Principal Nezu." Izuku smiled.
"Very well, today has been a long day for you two, so I won't keep you here any longer. But before you leave let me say this. Due to the fact that you're now two students instead of one, the staff decided to split your Practical score evenly so-."
Izuku stood from his bed, "Forgive me for interrupting, Principal Nezu. But I don't think it's fair. Ochako was the one who took the Practical all alone. All I did was intervene and get in her way when the Zero Pointer came out. I realized later how foolish it was to destroy it since it must have had sensors and wouldn't have crushed that green haired girl. Otherwise, UA would've been shut down a long time ago for the deaths of its examinees. She would have gained more points if it wasn't for me."
Nezu raised an eyebrow, "I see. Then do you accept that it means that you've failed the UA Entrance Exam and would have to go to another Hero school in Japan?"
Izuku looked at the principal with sad yet determined eyes, "Yes, Sir."
"Wait!" Ochako interjected. "If he failed then I've failed too!"
"Ochako?!" Izuku cried out in surprise but she ignored him.
"Izuku is the one who solved the written exam. So by logic, I failed it. Besides, he was also the one who came up with the plan for the Practical so it was a joint effort. Give him half- no all of my points. If anyone deserves to be at UA, then it's him!" Ochako said, showing equal determination to Izuku yet it was clear that she was also sad.
"Ochako…" Izuku muttered as he wiped his tears. He didn't understand why she was sacrificing her chance at UA for him.
All the adults in the room stayed silent for a moment before the silence was broken by Nezu's laugh as All Might and Recovery Girl smiled.
"You two pass!" Nezu said excitedly.
"What?!" Both teens shouted in bewilderment.
"Allow me to explain," All Might spoke up as he buffed up. "the Practical exam was basically a joint effort between you two. After all, while Young Midoriya came up with a good strategy, we shouldn't discredit Young Uraraka's well execution. Combined you two got 68 Villain Points. This is enough for the two of you to barely pass after splitting the score evenly…" All Might's smile widened. "... But there was a secret component added to the test. The Entrance Exam was not graded only on Villain Points! How can a Hero Course reject people who save others and do the right thing? Call that lip service? Bring it on! This is a job that requires risking one's life to put that lip service into practice! Rescue Points! And they're given by a panel of judges. It's the other basic ability we at UA look at! And you two got a combined score of 75 Rescue Points! So no Young Midoriya, you didn't get in Young Uraraka's way. You acted like a Hero!"
"Make it 105 Rescue Points. Those two were prepared to sacrifice their chance at UA for each other, so I'm giving each of them 15 Rescue Points." Nezu added.
"I couldn't agree more, Principal Nezu. So that gives you two a combined score of 173 points."
"Which we will split and round up to 87 each." Nezu continued.
"And as for the Written Exam, Young Midoriya you already passed with 92 points. As for Young Uraraka…"
"I'll prepare an exam for her tomorrow to take, but from what I've gathered she'll be able to easily pass."
"As you heard him. So let me say this! Come, Young Midoriya and Young Uraraka. This is your Hero Academia!"
Both teens smiled as their eyes began to water. Ochako hugged Izuku as they both laughed.
"We passed!"
Izuku did it. He finally took the first step towards his dream. Many people told him that it was impossible, laughed at him, and mocked him. But, he proved them all wrong, he proved that he can become a Hero too!
"We did it, Izuku!"
Ochako will definitely pass tomorrow's exam and also join Izuku at UA. And while they still needed to have a serious talk about what happened today, she was sure that things would work out. Then she'll be a great Hero, too. And she'll finally be able to support her parents!
They didn't know it at the time, but this was only the beginning of the story of how Izuku and Ochako became the Greatest Heroes.
AN: I always felt like Izuku's Quirk Analysis skill was brushed off once he got to UA. It was pretty rare when it would be given the chance to shine. After writing 13 Volumes I personally expected more. Maybe it was the effect of people finding it creepy? Who knows? But still, Izuku Quirk Analysis prowess in this story will have the chance to truly shine. Also, he's better than canon Izuku in that regard since he kinda had some help at the beginning from someone. There are a lot of things to uncover in Izuku's past as most of you must have deduced by now.
As for Izuku controlling OFA early. I wouldn't really say that. After all, can he can maintain it? Can he do other activities like swimming, push-ups, sit-ups or even fight while using OFA? It's a conscious effort after all. And let's not forget Full Cowl or channeling OFA to Gravity Shifts. But I honestly feel that with his current analysis skills and tendency to disregard self-harm for the sake of others, with Ochako being the case here, Izuku can find the proper amount he can control. Of course OFA is still hard to gauge and control. It took canon Izuku 3-4 times before the first successful no bones breaking smash (all of them under various degrees of stress). So I feel that 3 quick tries in a peaceful setting should be enough.
Last thing I want to address, this is not a bashing fic. I won't be bashing Bakugo, but he will be definitely facing the consequences of his actions and go through character development from them. All Might is an idiot when it comes to teaching but he'll learn. Just in case some people got offended by Ochako's outburst. She knows what she did wrong, and anyone of us can easily succumb to anger, especially when it comes to our loved ones. And Izuku means a lot here to Ochako if you hadn't already noticed. And it's totally normal to fight with your friends and reconcile. Just don't make a habit out of it or go too far.
SSJ-Jolt: Thank you for your opinion. I'll definitely have to check what is Nezu's specie. I always wanted to find out but was scared of the answer.
GotTheMovesLikeYeager: Thank you. I honestly didn't want to waste time with stuff like Izuku's origins, especially when he's not the only main character. I had an idea for Ochako's origins but again it wouldn't have been something we already didn't know about her. As for the Sludge Villain incident no need to cover something that everyone knows at this point. And I'm pretty sure fanfic readers have already read it a hundred times already. As for the training, all we really saw was Izuku picking up trash for like 5 min or something. Still you do raise a good point. If there are things I wanted to include in the last chapter, it would've been the Villain attack and the visit to Arata since we'll be seeing more of him. But when you already have a +9k chapter, you can get me when I decide to ignore a no-name Villain and just summarize the visit to Arata. Still we'll be seeing him soon.
I'll also be the first to admit that a lot of times when I write my thoughts run faster which causes those weird sentences you spoke about. Sorry for that. I'll try to be careful.
Ultimate10: Good to know and thank you for both your opinion and input. I can imagine some people getting the wrong idea at first. It doesn't help that the story is rated M, but I only did that because of the nudity and the stuff that have been shown. Also the swearing, can't forget that. Anyways, since Izuku is a Quirk Analyst, I want to give him the chance to shine, and I see a lot of potential in multiple Quirks that Izuku can bring out like Zero Gravity. And with the addition of One for All to the mix I'll be expanding on it even more. So, glad you liked that. And of course, you can't become one with another person for 7 months and don't expect any changes. There's a lot to unpack here. Anyways, I hope you liked this chapter too.
