On top of the cushion of the dog bed lied a small dog with her belly up resting. The dog bed was located in the corridor in front of the bedrooms of the owners. The female moved her head up while raising her left eye up believing to have heard something, afterward she got up from the bed, then stretched herself on the ground moving her rear up while keeping the front paws on the ground. The dog looked up at the door, which led to the bedroom of the adult couple, afterward she moved forward and nudged with her head on the door to push it open a gap, taking a glimpse into the slightly litten room. Noticing the sunlight passing through the closed curtains Maro knew it was daytime, which meant her owners would wake up any moment. The thing just is...it was Saturday morning. None of the adults needed to set the clock to make sure their daughter would get to elementary school in time. Maro of course isn't aware of that at the moment.
Maro walked over the parquet ground, noising with her claws gently over the wooden ground to reach to the one side of the bed to see the brunette woman River lie facing the side of where Maro was standing.
The Corgi-Shiba Inu hybrid placed her paws on the side of the bed and wagged her tail while admiring her owner on the bed. Maro began to whine, seeing if she would get the woman to wake up. She had shown no reaction, but moved her face up and lied on the back now. Maro afterward got down, preparing herself to hop up on the bed, afterward she was on the mattress, she began to sniff her owner on her face causing the brunette to chuckle from sensing the wet nose of the dog.
„Stop," Giggled River, then Maro gave the woman a lick on the cheek waking her up immediately. „Maro..."
The dog moved up at the belly of the woman, then watched her sit up slowly and gaze at the family dog. Maro panted by looking at the woman happily, then approached the woman, which embraced the dog for a snuggle.
„Morning little girl," Greeted River watching Maro wag her tail hastily at seeing the woman paying attention to the mixed breed. „Already awake?" Questioned the Irish woman watching the dog pant, giving the woman to understand, that the pet seemed happy about it. River looked at the side, where her night table was to see on the alarm clock that said it was 8:26. „Alright, it's fine to stay awake now," Commented River, then looked at the side to see her husband sleeping with his back against her. River looked at the dog, which mirrored her facial expression and she placed Maro down beside her legs over the cover then moved over his head to watch him rest. The woman placed her hand on his shoulder, then whispered in his ear.
„Good morning, Parker,"
River watched the husband groan softly, seeming uninterested in getting up. River shook her head, then approached him again to give him a kiss on the side of the forehead. Parker moved around, making River slip aside observing him still lying on the bed, facing her side. Unfortunately, he still was asleep. River smiled amused, then looked at Maro, which moved her head up at the brunette seeing the green eyes of the woman signal the pet to get closer to the man. Maro wagged her tail, then approached Parker Langerak gladly and began to lick him in front of his lips, making him wake up immediately at sensing the wet tongue of the dog.
„Maro!?" Mumbled Parker in shock, then jumped off the mattress almost falling off it. „Not on the mouth!" Complained the short-haired man, followed by hearing River burst into a pile of laughter.
„You had to see your face. It was priceless!" Admitted River making Parker shake his head amused at his wife's reaction.
„Morning," Greeted Parker watching Maro return to River, then he approached his wife, so both would share a kiss. „How was your night?"
„Good," Responded River making Parker nod, who observed the brunette move under the covers closer to him. „What about you?"
„It was great as well. Sharing together our warmth at night, makes everything more serene," Commented Parker making River smile and lean her face toward his.
„Can say the same about you," River said leaning her forehead deeper onto her husband's, then placed her hands on his arms and observed him lock up his eyes with hers.
Maro watched both avoid her, then she began to move her front paw to scratch River on the arm, afterward she got picked up by River, which held the dog over her legs with her hand over the dog's back.
„When did Ruby fall asleep yesterday?" Questioned River caressing the dog's back gently. „Midnight?"
„She had fallen asleep nearly at the climax of Bella Goth, Reborn. You know the adaption of that one book from Alexander Goth. Where's Bella was it called, right?"
„Yes, it was," Commented River. „I believe she must still be tired from being up so late. We better let her sleep for a little while," Suggested River making the raven-haired nod. „In the meanwhile, we're both already up and got a bit of time for us only. We both could do something together...right here...right now..." River suggested getting slightly suggestive with her words, making Parker grin and look down at Maro, which tilted her head. Maro immediately ran off River's hands, surprising Parker from seeing the dog leave, then looked at River, which shrugged her shoulders and looked up at her husband, then smirked at him. Parker mirrored her facial expression, afterward, the brunette got up to grab the door by the handle and heard the voice of a child, and gazed out to watch Maro return into the bedroom racing, followed by hopping up on the bed to look back at the entrance. River chuckled, then observed the daughter Ruby Langerak run into the bedroom causing the dog to bark excitedly as the Langerak's first child came to play.
„Alright, looks like we're having to change plans," Commented River making Parker nod, which watched Ruby jump up on the mattress, afterward Parker packed the girl, then began to tickle her.
„Whoa good morning, little princess," Spoke Parker, afterward River came to sit down on the bed and Ruby got off her father's arms to greet her mother with a hug.
„Morning, mami!" Greeted the raven-haired girl sensing the mother wrap her arms around the daughter.
„Morning, my angel," Greeted River pecking her daughter on the forehead. „Already gained energy for the day?"
„Yes," Responded Ruby with a nod. „Can we go out today at the park?" Questioned the daughter making the mother shrug her shoulders.
„Actually we are meant to visit your grandparents," Mentioned River, then looked at Parker, which approached the two women and sat beside Ruby.
„After lunch, we might have the chance to go out to the park, if our grandparents want. If not we can always play at their house and who knows, maybe aunt Kaylynn will come swim with us there. What do you think about it?" Questioned Parker watching the girl ponder about it and nod.
„Do you promise?" Questioned the girl giving her father puppy eyes, which made him chuckle.
„I can't promise, they'll say yes. But I'm sure they will want you to be happy and entertained. You know grandpa Dustin would do anything for you, ain't I right?" Questioned Parker making Ruby nod, then look up at River, which smiled at her daughter, then both shared a hug again.
„Come, my girl. You must be hungry. What about some nice, hot waffles?" Offered River making Ruby smile and glimpse back at the father, which got distracted for a second by Maro, which squeezed herself between Parker and Ruby's leg to look up at the family.
„Can we have chocolate cream on the waffles? Please?" Begged Ruby looking at the mother, which shook her head, afterward she faced her father who chuckled and went along with his wife.
„I'm sorry sweetie. You already had it with your toast this week. You gotta make sure you eat healthy as well," Commented Parker placing his hand under Ruby's chin. „You'll get to eat some another time. Is that okay?" Questioned the man making Ruby nod, then watched Maro sniff the child on her face, afterward Ruby packed Maro and held her in her arms.
„Come, let's get down and get to work," Said River watching Ruby get up, afterward she followed the daughter out of the room along with her husband.
I know it's short, but it's something to help me practice.
