Lilith

Lilith let the tears roll down her cheeks. She tried to cry quietly lest someone heard her. The walls were thick but she wasn't going to dishonor her family's name for others' mistakes. Their betrayal rankled her.

The Warrior nun was supposed to eschew all romantic attachment. They were supposed to put the order first. Of course, Ava decided to ignore the rules. Precious little Ava with her pretty face and puppy eyes was exempt from all rules. She had found the warrior nun shoving her tongue into Sister Beatrice's mouth.

Shameful, Their conduct was utterly shameful. Was Ava going to risk their lives to protect Beatrice's? Could Sister Beatrice be trusted to be objective about missions when her paramour was the warrior nun? No, If she had been making out with the warrior nun. She would protect her at all costs. Objectivity be damned.

Lilith decided not to report it, Mother Superion had looked the other way when she had come across similar failings from other nuns. Ava and Beatrice hadn't realized she knew their secrets. It was hard to hide the anger and contempt for them.

Every time she saw Ava, The image of the Warrior Nun's hand on Beatrice's hip would crop up in her face. The way Beatrice looked at Ava as if she was the center of her world. The way Ava had pushed her hair back.

It was haunting, if only they could show the same devotion to her and other nuns. Lilith was actually hurt. She was not close to either but their actions had hurt her more than she had expected.

Their transgressions had even forced their way into her dreams. Her guilt over allowing the rules to be flouted had surfaced in her dreams. Some nights she dreamed of being in Beatrice's place and some nights she dreamed that she was the Warrior nun kissing Beatrice.

She should have reported them even if would have done nothing and just antagonized them. At least her conscience would be clear and she wouldn't be having these stupid uncomfortable dreams that made her feel like a sinner.

She had taken to praying a lot more than usual after one incident where Sister Beatrice had pinned her down during training and she had to yield because she was distracted by her lips after one of those dreams. She hates being out of control. She hated what was happening to her.

She hated Ava Silva more than ever. How dare this idiot storm into her life, Take the Halo, seduce Beatrice, and then invade her dreams too. She had ruined her life and yet she couldn't bring herself to be mean to her.

Every time she had tried to be rude to her or threw a sly dig at Ava. She instantly felt guilty and they had spent enough time that she knew when her comments hurt her even if she laughed it off. She felt a sense of protectiveness about Ava to a degree that felt extreme. She never felt this way about Shannon but Shannon could hold her own and Ava couldn't and it was natural for her to feel protective about the Halo.
