Chapter 2: West City Attacked
Many months later…
Videl was watching the news on the TV as the news reporter said, "Breaking news! The Eastern side of Capsule City has been completely destroyed by two androids. These androids call themselves 17 and 18, there were no survivors and those who were brave enough to face these monsters have been killed. We'll be sure to keep you updated on this situation." And after hearing the report, Videl gasped in horror and said,
"That's horrible! Someone needs to stop those monsters. I hope Gohan and our daughter Coco are ok."
Just then her father, Hercule Satan walked into the living room where his daughter was and perked a brow at her as he asked, "What's the matter honey? You look like you've seen a ghost." Videl ran over to her father and hugged him tightly with a few tears falling from her face and replied,
"Haven't you seen the news dad? Those androids 17 and 18 completely destroyed the eastern side of Capsule City. What if our side is next?"
Hercule smiled at his daughter and returned the hug as he said, "Ah, don't worry sweetie I'll keep you safe. After all, those androids won't stand a chance against me because I'm the world champion! Not to mention Gohan is training that daughter of yours so there's nothing to fear." Videl smiled at her father and replied,
"I guess you're right dad, Gohan has been training with Coco and I know that they're both pretty strong. I just hope they will be strong enough to defeat those androids 17 and 18."
Elsewhere…
After Android 17 had destroyed the last remaining building on the eastern side of Capsule City, he looked at Android 18 as he said, "Well, this was fun. But there's nothing left of this place now, what should we do now 18?" Android 18 looked back at Android 17 and replied,
"It was fun while it lasted, let's go and finish the western side of this city. Maybe someone there can give us a challenge."
Android 17 nodded his head at Android 18 as he said, "You're right 18, we should finish what we started before we find another place to destroy. Maybe we could have some more fun with Gohan, assuming we haven't killed him already."
Then both Android 17 and 18 soon left the ruined eastern side of Capsule City, as they began making their way towards the western side of Capsule City to continue their path of destruction.
Meanwhile…
Gohan flew out to the Wastelands with his daughter Coco and they stood apart from each other as he said, "Now then, Dad told me when you were just a baby that you would be really powerful one day, but that power will mean nothing if you can't control it." Coco rolled her eyes at her father Gohan and replied,
"Sometimes I think that you worry too much dad, I'm not going to let my power go to my head. That's why I asked you to teach me to control my Ki, remember?"
Gohan smiled at Coco as he said, "I know, so let's start with the basics. Try to follow along with what I'm doing, ok?" Before he then began charging his Ki as a small aura appeared around him, after he stopped charging his Kid he looked at his daughter as he continued, "Now you try, just remember to focus. I know you can do it, Coco." Coco closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath in as she tried to copy what she just saw her father do.
After a few minutes of focusing, Coco slowly opened her eyes as a small aura appeared around her and she smiled at Gohan as she replied a little shocked, "I-I'm doing it! I'm really doing it! I thought it would take me ages to get the hang of it this." Gohan smiled at Coco and replied,
"Good. Seems like you are a fast learner, I guess we can move on to more advanced techniques now and see how handle them."
But just as Gohan and Coco were about to start the next step of training, they heard an explosion coming from Capsule City and Gohan grit his teeth slightly as he said, "Sounds like those androids have begun attacking the city. I have to put a stop to them." As Gohan was about to head back towards Capsule City, Coco shouted,
"Wait dad, I'll go with you. Together we should be more than strong enough to defeat those androids."
Gohan looked back at his daughter and shook his head as he said, "No, it's too dangerous. And I don't think you're ready to face such strong opponents yet." He then walked over to Coco and embraced her in a hug as Coco looked up at her father with a few tears falling from her face and sobbed,
"Please, let me go with you dad. If you face those monsters on your own, you…you'll surely be killed."
Gohan held his daughter in the hug for a few minutes before he then lightly chopped Coco in her neck knocking her out cold, he then floated up in the air and turned to face Capsule City before looking back down at his unconscious daughter as he said to himself, "I'm sorry Coco, but the future is counting on you and I need you to take care of Videl for me." Before he then flew off towards Capsule City to face both Android 17 and Android 18.
Several hours later…
When Coco regained consciousness, she looked around for her father as she said, "Dad? Where could he have gone? I should check the City for him." Before she then flew towards the now ruined Capsule City to look for her father.
As Coco was flying through the ruined city in search of her father, she saw bodies laying through the streets and she thought to herself, "Those monsters! They killed all these people, I better hurry up and find my father fast if we're going to put a stop to these Androids." She continued her search around the city for several minutes while a small part of her hoped her father was safe.
After a few more minutes of searching, the sky became dark and cloudy as it began pouring rain and eventually to Coco's horror she saw her father Gohan face down on the ground as he laid there motionless. She slowly approached her father's body as she said, "D-dad…" a few tears began welling in her eyes as she knelt down next to her father and shook his body as she sniffled, "Dad, c'mon get up."
The tears that were building in her eyes then slowly began falling from her face as she shook his body again as she said, "Get up dad, there's no way you can be dead…" but as she looked up from her father's body, her eyes widened in horror as she saw her mother laying a few feet away from where she was. Coco shook her tear stained face as she sobbed, "This isn't real! This can't be real!" Before she then sat there on her knees in the pouring rain and tears now streaming down her face as she continued to sob, "Mom… Dad…"
Her sadness then slowly began turning into anger as she tightly curled her hands into fists and her shoulder length black hair started to stand up, she then looked up at the cloudy sky in her rage as she screamed, "RRRRAAAAAHHHHH!" Her hair then stood up as it turned a golden color and a large golden aura appeared around her. Coco then quickly turned around as she heard some footsteps behind her and she saw a lilac haired boy with a sword strapped to the back of his blue jacket which had the Capsule Corp logo on it.
The boy smiled at Coco and introduced himself as he said, "Hey there, my name is Trunks. And…there might be a way to fix this, come with me and I'll…" before Trunks could finish his sentence he saw Coco charging at him and he tried to dodge the incoming punches and kicks that were being thrown at him. Coco continued to recklessly throw punches and kicks towards Trunks as he continued to dodge out of the way before she then managed to land a couple of hits on him, sending him crashing through a wall of a ruined building.
After sending Trunks flying into a nearby ruined building, in her rage Coco began charging a ball of energy in her hands as she said angrily, "Ka…Me…Hame…HA!" Before she fired the blue beam towards Trunks. As the blue beam was barreling towards Trunks, he barely managed to dodge out of the way and tried to reason with Coco,
"Please Coco, calm down. I don't want to fight you! There is a way to fix this! Please just listen to me! Trust me, I know what you're going through Coco."
But Coco wasn't listening as she was still blinded by her rage and fired several Ki blasts towards Trunks and Trunks dodged out of the way of the incoming Ki blasts, before he then charged towards Coco and connected with a fist to her jaw making her stumble back a little. Coco then looked at Trunks as she asked him, "Trunks? You…you're alive? I thought I was the only person left."
Trunks then took a deep breath, but he was still prepared for if Coco wasn't calm yet before he smiled at Coco as he replied, "Well…to be honest, if it wasn't for Gohan. I probably wouldn't be standing here right now. But I mean it when I told you there is a way to fix this Coco, if…you will hear me out?" Coco then closed her eyes for a moment as she took a few deep breaths to calm herself, eventually the golden aura around her faded and her hair had returned to normal before she looked back at Trunks and said,
"I…I'm sorry for attacking you Trunks, I was just so…angry that those Androids took everything from me that I lashed out at you. But…how can we fix this?"
Trunks smiled at Coco as he said, "Phew! Like I said, I know what you're going through Coco. My mother is working on a machine that will let us go back to the past so that we can stop this from being our future. With it, we could save my father, Gohan… Videl… everyone." Coco stared at Trunks for a minutes and replied,
"Are you sure it will work? I mean by going back and changing the past will prevent my parents Gohan and Videl from dying?"
Trunks looked at Coco and took a deep breath as he said, "To be honest Coco, I'm not sure if changing the past will work to save everyone. But…we have to at least try, c'mon my mother should be finished with the Time machine by now." So both Trunks and Coco began flying towards his mother's house to see if the Time machine had been completed.
