Chapter 2 Lisbeth

Jay's POV

Nya and I walked into Master Wu's room.

"Master Wu", I started. "There's something I want to talk to you about."

"What is it, Jay", Master Wu asked.

Then, I sat down in front of him…and took a deep breath.

"Master Wu", I started. "Can you tell me about my birth mother?"

After I asked this, Master Wu gave me a small smile.

"I was wondering when you would ask me about this", he revealed.

"So…", I started. "My birth mother, she was the former elemental master of lighting, right?"

"Correct", Master Wu replied. "Her name…is Lisbeth."

"Lisbeth", I repeated. "What was she like?"

"How to describe Lisbeth", Master Wu started. "She was very talkative, and always cracking jokes. This sometimes annoyed the others, but it would also cheer us up when we were feeling down."

"Huh", Nya started. "Sounds like you Jay."

"Master Wu", I started. "What do you know about my birth parents' relationship?"

"Honestly", Master Wu started. "Not much. I never met your birth father, but I knew from your birth mother that he was a movie star."

"It's strange", I started. "I researched Cliff Gordon, but I never found anything mentioning that he had a wife or a kid."

"If I remember correctly", Master Wu started. "Your mother told me that her and your father had decided to keep their marriage a secret."

"Keep their marriage a secret", I repeated. "How come?"

"I believe that your father did not want your mother to get caught up in the publicity of being married to a movie star", Master Wu replied. "Especially since she was the elemental master of lighting at the time."

"Master Wu", I started. "Do…do you know why my birth parents gave me up for adoption?"

"I do", Master Wu replied. "From what your mother told me…your father was a bit of a. womaniser, and this did not change even after you were born. Because of this, your mother decided to leave him."

"But", I started. "That still doesn't explain why she gave me up for adoption?"

"Your mother was going to raise you on her own at first", Master Wu revealed. "But after thinking about it, she believed that you deserved to be raised by two parents in a loving relationship, not a single mother who would've been kept busy with her duties as an elemental master. So, she gave you to your adoptive parents."

After I heard this…I looked down sadly.

"So…", I started. "Where is she now?"

"Not long after she gave you to your adoptive parents, she went on a mission", Master Wu revealed. "Sadly, we lost all contact with her."

"So", I started. "You don't know where she is, or if she's even alive?"

"I'm afraid not", Master Wu replied.

Then…he walked up to his closet…and pulled out a box.

"Here", he said as he gave it to me. "These are all the things your mother left behind."
