AN: Hey guys, can you believe it this is chapter 31? I also want to say that I am beyond grateful for each and every review that has been written for this story, and thanks to FlickerFlame8 and BarrettaJennifer for their continued support. I've decided to publish this chapter earlier than planned, it will be a continuation of the previous chapter and towards the end Rumplestilkskin returns, and it effects both Killian and Emma, this chapter is also for FlickerFlame8 who gave me the idea for this chapter. It will start off slightly fluffy, and it will also be a two part chapter. Read and review please, as it would be greatly appreciated, MysteryFan1997

Ch31 - The Truth Will Set You Free pt1
That's when I felt myself being lifted and placed into his lap; and his arms were placed around me again, we sat like that for the rest of the morning. Just two true loves, enjoying each other's company...
We sat like that for a while, appreciating the quiet moment; and I couldn't help but feel ashamed, as I started to question myself. I mean how could I have been so jealous? How could I have doubted his feelings for me?
God! I'm such an idiot, I guess this is what I get for letting my insecurities rise to the surface; I sighed internally, as we sat in a somewhat comfortable silence.
My breath hitched, as his hand slowly moved up and down my spine. I broke the silence first, I kept my tone light as I spoke.
"Do you wanna head downstairs, and have breakfast?"
He looked up at me, smiling softly; before nodding in agreement, he spoke.
"That's an excellent idea Swan, lead the way"
We untangled ourselves, and then headed downstairs; we walked into the kitchen, I stopped when I reached the stove. I then turned to face Killian, I smiled softly; before speaking.
"I was thinking we could switch it up a little, how do you feel about French Toast with bacon and eggs?"
His head tilted in confusion, he then spoke.
"Love, what is French Toast?"
I laughed softly, before answering.
"It's bread dipped in scrambled eggs, with a pinch of salt and pepper or cinnamon; but since we're having bacon and eggs, I'll use the salt and pepper. And once it's been dipped in the eggs, you place it in the frying pan and let it cook"
He smiled, in agreement; before speaking.
"Sounds delightful love, I can't wait to try it"
I gathered the ingredients, and got to work; and just as I was placing the eggs on the plate, a pair of familiar arms wrapped around my waist. My heart fluttered, when he leaned in and whispered softly.
"Something smells delicious"
I laughed again, remembering the last time he said that; I grinned, before speaking again.
"It's just French Toast, and it will be ready in a minute"
That's when I heard him laugh, I then felt his head rest on my shoulder; I could hear the smile in his voice as he spoke.
"I wasn't talking about the toast love"
My eyes widened, remembering exactly to what he was referring to. I stifled a giggle, as I tried to concentrate on the contents of the frying pan; there's nothing worse than burnt French Toast, I leaned back, before turning my head slightly to look at him.
"Killian, as much as I would love to recreate our pancake breakfast; we can't, because I really want you to enjoy this and you won't if it's burnt. So can you please be patient?"
I felt his nod against my shoulder, he then made his way over to the table; I finished plating up our breakfast, I then turned around to make my way to the table.
I placed his plate down in front of him, and when he didn't acknowledge me; that's when I noticed the distant look on his face, my breath hitched again as I realised that his nightmare was probably replaying in his head.
Should I try and get him to refocus on me? Or should I let him gather his thoughts? As I watched him, my thoughts drifted to his reaction; to when I told him that he mentioned Milah as he slept.
I remembered that he was confused, and extremely apologetic; whereas I was jealous, and I had no right to because he had every right to be confused. It's also not surprising that the nightmare frightened him, my heart broke all over again; because I then remembered he also dreamt about losing his hand again.
I sat down facing him, and I couldn't help but watch him; and that's when and I noticed he seemed to be lost in thought. I swallowed softly, knowing he was still feeling the effects of his nightmare; and I wouldn't be surprised if he did and is still suffering from sort of form of survivors guilt.
I glanced up, and my heart sank when I noticed his eyes had clouded over with un-shed tears; and this time I wasn't jealous, I was angry. Because the person I was angry at was Rumplestilkskin, I gasped slightly; as I remembered that I didn't see Milah before I left the Underworld.
In fact, the last person that had contact with her was Gold; maybe if I could find out if she's at peace, it might give Killian some peace of mind and help ease his survivors guilt.
I ate my breakfast, in silence; while forming a plan in my head, while glancing at Killian every few seconds, my thoughts once again turned to Rumplestilkskin. Would he give us the answers we're looking for?
I peered up, and that's when I noticed that Killian had refocused his gaze on mine; I smiled softly, before reaching across the table and placing my hand over his.
"Babe, I've been thinking; well actually your nightmare gave me an idea, I'm guessing you've got survivors guilt because of what happened to Milah. And I'm not completely surprised, because you never got to say goodbye in the underworld, anyway there's only one person I think that can help..."
Hs opened his mouth to protest.
"Swan, I'm not..."
I stared at him, before continuing speaking.
"I know the mere thought of being in the same room as him, makes you angry; but Killian, I want to help. So I was thinking I could go and visit Gold by myself, and if I sense that he's lying; I promise I won't hesitate to use a truth spell on him, because you deserve to know if she's at peace. Because the last time I saw her, she was with him; so please let me do this, and yes I promise to be careful"
He smiled at me, before speaking.
"Emma love, I don't know what I ever did to deserve you; and I'm sure it couldn't have been easy for you when I said her name, and like I said before darling...I can tell when your heart is uneasy, and it's my job to protect your heart..."
I smiled internally at that, before glancing at him; that's when I decided to tell him how I felt.
"Ok so, before I tell you; can you promise that you won't laugh or hate me?"
He nodded in agreement, before speaking.
"Love, I promise I won't laugh, and I also know that I could never hate you"
I smiled softly, before I continued speaking.
"I'm not so sure about that, but ok I'll tell you; when I heard you say her name I was jealous, I know I shouldn't have been because I had no right to be. I felt ashamed afterwards when I noticed that you seemed to be so confused and lost; and I don't blame you because she's your first love. So please let me do this, I want to get answers for you; because I love you and you deserve to know if she's at peace"
He moved away from the table, and my breath hitched; I then felt his arms wrap around me, and my heart fluttered. That's when I felt his breath at my neck, as he leaned up to whisper into my ear.
"Emma, I'm sorry for the feelings that my nightmare provoked; you had every right to feel like that, as this is the first time you've heard me mention her name as I've dreamt. You my love, are so thoughtful; but I want to make one thing clear, I'm going with you to visit the crocodile, I still don't trust him love. I'm not taking no for an answer Swan"
I nodded, before shifting slightly; we then stood up, and made our way out of the kitchen. We then headed towards the front door, and we then left; making our way down the street, and into town.
We then found ourselves standing outside Gold's shop, I gave Killian a reassuring smile; before we entered. We stood in silence, as we spotted him; I noticed he was in the middle of doing inventory.
We waited for a few minutes, before I cleared my throat; that's when he around, and I noticed he refrained from rolling his eyes when he spotted us.
He spoke.
"How can I help you today? Make it quick, I'm rather busy"
I glanced at him quickly before I spoke.
"It's about Milah, long story short; Killian had a nightmare, one he's had on and off for years all because of you. So my first question is where did you and Milah go after you introduced us? And don't forget I'll be able to tell if you're lying"
He inclined his head slightly, before grinning sarcastically; I decided to make one thing clear.
"We need answers Gold, and before you ask no I'm not making a deal with you"
He tilted his head slightly, before speaking.
"Then I'm afraid you've wasted your time and mine, so if you would kindly leave"
I stood my ground, there was no way he was getting out of this; I glared at him, before deciding to cast a truth spell. Killian and I then watched on as the spell took hold...
