Chapter 3 Items from the Past

Jay's POV

Nya and I were looking through the box of my birth mother's things.

"Let's see what we have here", I started before pulling out something from the box. "There's a bunch of old dvds of Starfarer movies."

"Well", Nya started. "Your mom was married to the guy who played the main character."

"Woah", I exclaimed before pulling out something else. "Check out this old gaming console!"

"Now we know where you get your love of gaming from", Nya said.

Then, we continued to look through the box and found other things like old weapons and old gi's.

We soon reached the bottom of the box…where I found some old photos.

I picked them up and looked at them.

The first one was a picture of Cliff Gordon wearing a tux, standing next to a woman wearing a wedding dress.

"That's her", Nya revealed. "That's the woman I saw when Kai and I traveled back in time."

"That's my birth mother", I said. "That's…Lisbeth."

After I said this, I looked at the other photos.

The next one was my birth parents on what seemed to be their honeymoon.

Then…there was a photo was Lisbeth in the hospital…holding a baby.

"Look Jay", Nya started. "It's you! You were such a cute baby!"

I didn't say anything to this…and just looked at the last photo.

It was…a family photo…of me with my birth parents.

I looked at it sadly, and Nya seemed to notice this.

"Jay", she started. "Are you okay?"

"I'm…", I started. "I'm fine. Hey Nya?"

"Yeah", Nya asked.

"There's something I've gotta do tomorrow", I revealed. "Would you come with me?"

"Of course."

The Next Day

Nya and I had arrived at the junkyard.

When we did…I saw my parents outside.

"Ma", I yelled. "Pa!"

With that, my parents run up to us.

"Oh Jay", my mom started before giving me a hug. "It's so good to see you again!"

"Nice to have you back, son", my dad said.

"And it's so good to see you too, Nya", my mom greeted.

"Nice to see you too, Mr and Mrs Walker", Nya greeted.

"How many times have we told you, dear", my mother started. "Just call us Ma and Pa."

"She's right", my dad agreed. "After all, you are our son's Yang."

"Anyway", I started. "Ma, Pa, there's something I need to ask you."

"What is it, son", my mom asked.

"How…how did you guys end up adopting me?"

When I asked this, my parents looked at each other before sighing.

"We figured you'd ask us about that someday, son", my dad said.

"So", I started. "How'd it happen?"

"In a very clique manner, actually", my mom replied. "It was a stormy night when we heard a knock on the door."

"We opened it, but there was no one there", my dad revealed. "Instead, we found a basket, with a baby boy inside."

"And there was no note or anything", I asked.

"Nothing", my dad replied. "But there was this."

With that…my dad gave me a key.

I knew what that key was. It was the key to Cliff's mansion.
