Chapter 5 Unexpected Visitor
Jay's POV
Nya and I had returned to the monastery, and when we did…everybody seemed to be fretting over something.
"Nya, Jay", Lloyd exclaimed before running up to us. "Thank goodness. We were worried that you guys got trapped in Ninjago City too!"
"Wait a minute", Nya started in shock. "Trapped in Ninjago City?! Did something happen while we were gone?"
"Oh come on", I exclaimed. "We were gone for one day!"
"Come with us", Pixal said. "We'll show you what's going on."
…
We were now all in the Hanger Bay, watching a news broadcast on the screen.
"Breaking news", the reporter started. "A strange type of storm has suddenly appeared around Ninjago City! Oddly, the storm is not affecting the city itself, but it seems that now nobody can make their way in or out of the city!"
When we heard this, we all looked at the screen in shock.
"Nobody can get in or out of the city", Nya asked in shock.
"But didn't Kai and Zane…", Cole started.
But before he could finish…said ninja suddenly appeared on screen, and the reporter rushed up to them.
"Ninja", he started. "Can you please tell us what is happening?"
"If we're being honest", Kai started. "We have no idea."
"But do not worry", Zane chimed in. "I'm sure that our fellow ninja are investing this situation as we speak. And Kai and I will also do our best to see what information we can find out from inside the city as well."
"Yeah", Kai started before looking directly at the camera. "If you can see this sis, don't worry. Your big bro is alright."
"Stay safe everyone", Zane said. "Pixal."
"Well", the reporter started. "There you have it folks! The ninja will take care of this, so there is no need to panic! Back to you, Tim!"
With that, the feed cut.
"Zane", Pixal said sadly.
"Kai", Nya said sadly.
"Don't worry, Nya", I said as I put my hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure Kai will be fine."
"And Zane too", Cole said as he put his hand on Cole's shoulder.
"Thank you, Cole", Pixal said.
"Alright guys", Lloyd started. "Let's get to work on figuring out what's going on."
But before we could do this…an alert suddenly went off.
"Somebody has arrived at the monastery", Master Wu pointed out. "Check the camera feed to see who it is."
With that, Pixal did as told, and when we saw who had arrived…it felt as if my heart had stopped beating.
"It can't be", Master Wu said in shock.
"What", Cole asked in confusion before looking at the screen. "Who is that lady?"
"That's…", Nya started.
"…my birth mother."
…
I rushed to the front doors of the monastery, but as soon as I touched the handle…I froze in place.
Nya noticed this, and pulled me back.
Master Wu opened the doors…and I came face to face with my birth mother.
