Chapter 5: The Rest Break

Everybody still had tears streaking down their faces

The gods sat on their respective couches. Some of them had their heads in their hands

The words of the demigods were still ringing in their heads

Then surprisingly it was Ares who spoke up. Even the god of war had tears on his face

"I never knew that this is what they felt"

"None of us did" said Hermes in a hoarse voice

"I'm a little stuck on the fact that despite all that they told us, they said that it was only half" said Athena

"It's a miracle that most of them even fought to defend us after all that they feel" came from Hades in a hoarse voice because of speaking from around the lump that had formed in his throat as he thought about Maria and what he told Nico about Bianca

"Even the more loyal ones" said Poseidon

"We have to talk to our children" came from Zeus

"It's been too long since we've ignored them." Agreed Apollo

This was one of the extraordinary times that the entire council agreed on something

They all cleaned their faces and walked out of the throne room quietly and went to find their children.

Meanwhile the demigods were either sitting by the hearth or the lake.

A few of them were still crying while the others closed their eyes in the fear that if they opened them then they would start crying again

Hestia was keeping an eye on the demigods and it made her really upset to see them this way.

The demigods held hands but none of them said anything

"What do we do?" finally asked Will

"I don't know" whispered Luke

"What do you think is going on in the throne room?" asked Nico

"I don't know, they removed me and the other legacy from the room" said Rachel while walking towards the demigods

They nodded

"Why don't we eat something?" asked Grover

"How"

"We could ask Lady Hestia" he suggested

Percy nodded and got up to find her

"Aunt Hestia could we have something to eat?"

"Of course nephew" she gave him a warm smile

Hestia brought the demigods some plates and goblets and told them that they could wish for anything and it would appear (non-alcoholic)

"You all can use the guest rooms for now" she said

The demigods got up and left

They set down their plates and goblets on the table and wished for food

They all ate quietly for 45 minutes

"Maybe we should all rest and freshen up" suggested Silena

Everybody nodded

They all went and changed their clothes which they got from a closet, washed their faces and went to sleep. They told Octavian to get lost because he was being an idiot like usual

The gods reached the hearth but they could not find anybody.

"They went to eat in the guest rooms when I last saw them" said Hestia when she saw them

The gods hurried to the guest rooms and Hermes opened it because it was locked.

They saw the demigods all sprawled up together on the bed.

"Maybe you should let them sleep for now and you could talk to them later" suggested Chiron in a low voice

The gods nodded and went to their respective quarters to get rest themselves while Chiron and Hestia watched over the demigods
