I do not own From Dusk Until Dawn. Wish that this series had carried on and I feel that there were some loose ends.
Here is how I saw how season 4 should have gone
Chapter 1
The bar was smoky and crowded. Seth didn't know how he was going to get out of here with all the culebras that were surrounding them.
"Relax, they don't care about us. They are here for someone else," Kiza smiled.
"So, then, why are we here Kiza?" Richie sighed.
"Because, the person that they are here for is someone that you two are wanting to find," Kiza stared at the stage as the lights dimmed.
The first cords of the song started, the culebras began cheering as the bass, guitars, and drums came to life with a hard rock tune. The voice of the singer was a strong feminine voice that sang of heartache and loss.
"Seth," Richie barely spoke as he was transfixed at who the lead singer was.
"Kate?" Seth could barely breathe.
One year, it had been one year after she had left them. Only a note on the beside table was there when he had gotten out of the shower. Richie had been off feeding. Neither of them had been able to find her. Her trail had grown cold and they couldn't exactly go to the police to file a missing persons report. Seth had tried to stop and look at every red head he had seen, hoping that each time that it would be her and that he could talk to her.
"It's an Evanescene cover band, and that is Phoenix Anders, the lead singer," Scott's voice came from behind the trio.
"That is Kate," Richie's eyes were trained onto the lead singer.
"Well, apparently, she goes by Phoenix Anders now," Scott handed Seth the bands announcement flyer for the show.
"Have you talked to her?" Seth looked from flyer to the stage and then back at Scott.
"No, can't get near her. Between the groupie's and the guys on stage with her, you can't get within ten feet of her. She doesn't stay to sign autographs, meet fans, take pics, or even have a drink. She is gone right after. I have been trying to figure out where she goes to see if I can get her alone. She has no social media and I have scoured the internet to find anything. I can't even figure out where she goes backstage," Scott stared at her.
They all knew that it was Kate. She had changed her hair. It was now black with purple streaks. She was wearing black clothing and black make up. The top of what looked like phoenix wings wrapped around her shoulders.
"So, why are we here," Seth didn't want to get his hopes up that he could get her alone to at least talk to her.
"Well, it appears that Amaru left something behind when she left Kate's body," Kiza too was staring at Kate.
"And what's that?" Richie finally looked Kiza's way.
"Her powers. All of them," Kiza looked over at Richie with pity, this was not the reunion that she had wanted Richie and she to have but it was how the universe apparently felt that it needed to happen.
"I still don't understand why we are here," Seth didn't take his off Kate.
"Because, the elder culebras want her. As a living goddess that can save the culebras and bring us together. That is the PC version that they are putting out. Unfortunately, I know the real reason," Kiza looked down at the tequila that the bar tender had just handed her.
"And what's that?" Scott's voice rose slightly, betraying his fear for his sister.
"They fear her," Richie said in a whisper, his mind putting the pieces together.
Kiza downed the tequila in one go, "Exactly. They fear that she will take control and turn all the culebras to her."
"Why would Kate do something like that?" Richie knew better.
"Because, the elders know that we would follow her. She may not be Amaru, but she is our goddess and will do what she needs. She is our savior and protector," the bar tender looked at Kate with pride.
Scott, Kiza, Richie, and Seth all looked back at the bar tender at the same time. That is when they all noticed the decor for the first time. It was all about Amaru and a goddess guardian of the culebras but with Kate's form.
"This bar is dedicated to her, to Phoenix, she will save us," the bar tender said with pride and the smile of someone who has so much hope and faith that nothing or anyone can change their mind.

Kate saw them. She saw them as soon as she stepped on the stage. How had they found her? She was always so careful. The band only put out flyers the day of the show. No social media was allowed. That was her biggest rule.
She was Phoenix Anders now, she was a singer of rock songs. She lived on the road and only stopped when she needed money. The guys in the band made sure that she was not seen coming or going from the bars. The groupies had become her protectors as well. They made sure that no one got too close. They made sure that she had a quick exit. Her part of the money from the gigs was always paid to her in cash and at a drop point. All her papers and IDs were forged and she even had a grave site for Kate Fuller near Bethel. A funeral had been arranged. All in attendance had seen a casket lowered into the ground. The burial plot was next to her father's and mother's. She had watched the outdoor part of the ceremony from around the corner. Freddie and his family had put white roses on her casket before it was lowered. The next day, Kate Fuller's obituary had run in the local paper and was available on the internet for all to find if they search Kate's name.
She had bought a late 80s conversion van and turned it into a home on wheels. Bed, mini fridge, and stove top. She had started driving until the money and gas had run out. She sang on the side of the road in the rain to get what she could, that is, until she had found Crash, who was currently lost in his drummer world while on stage. Crash had recognized her and discovered first hand the powers that Amaru had left with Kate. He had given her the name Phoenix, telling her is was time to rise from the ashes and be who she really wanted to be and not Amaru or Kate. He had seen how she could move things and earth with the flick of her hand, how she could summon the fires of Xibalba, how she could see into the souls. He had been there the night that her eyes had turned crimson and she had open the doorway between Xibalba and this world because of the pain of what she had done when Amaru had controlled her body was too much.
Now, she had a steady income so that she didn't have to go and get an actual job. She never knew when the powers would overwhelm her again.
She let all the memories spill into the music that she was singing. The band Evanescene music had fit how she was filling, and that is when their band had formed and had started to become a success. Soon after, there seemed to be an underground movement of culebras that seemed to see her as a living goddess. At first, it had made her uncomfortable, but with the whisperings that she was no longer safe from the elders, the followers pledged to keep her safe and hidden.
The set was ending, the last song. It was now that she decided to make eye contact with Seth, it was now that she conveyed how she felt and hoped that he understood the message that she was sending to him:
Feels like the weight of the world
Like God in heaven gave me a turn
Don't cling to me, I swear I can't fix you
Still in the dark, can you fix me?
Freefall, freefall, all through life
If you love me, then let go of me
I won't be held down by who I used to be
She's nothing to me
Feels like the weight of the world
Like all my screaming has gone unheard
And oh, I know you don't believe in me
Safe in the dark, how can you see?
Freefall, freefall, all through life
If you love me, then let go of me
I won't be held down by who I used to be
If you love me, then let go of me
I won't be held down by who I was
If you love me, then let go of me
I won't be held down by who I used to be
And with the ending note she turned from Seth and walked off stage. She didn't look back, she never looks back. She kept walking.
"Alright, she is ready to go," one of the followers talked into his ear mic.
He handed her the keys to the van.
"Be safe Phoenix," he kissed her hand and then touched it to his forehead.
"Be careful, there are four in the crowd who may try to follow," Phoenix held his shoulder for a moment before proceeding down the hallway.
Tonight, it felt like time had stopped for a moment. Seeing Seth had opened all the wounds and all the heartache. She had poured all of that into the last song, the last words that she had said to him.
Her phone buzzed.
Coast is clear. Be blessed and be safe.
She smiled down at her phone as she reached the door. Crash was trusted, her band was trusted, but her heart was ready to betray her and if she didn't hurry up and step through that door, then she knew she would run back down that hallway.
She pushed open the door and was suddenly grabbed.
"Hey princess," Seth breathed into her ear.
