Chapter 14 To Protect You

Jay's POV

Stormterror had dragged me into his lair, and had strapped me up to some type of machine.

The machine was draining my lighting from me, which was very painful.

Is this the same machine Stormterror used to drain Libber's lighting from her?

How long was she strapped to this thing? Was she in this much pain for all that time?

She willingly went through all of that…to protect me.

Before my thoughts could go on for any longer…I blacked out.

Nya's POV

We had arrived at Stormterror's lair, and when we did…we saw Jay strapped to some type of machine!

"Jay", I yelled.

Then, I tried to run up to him, but before I could…Zane held me back!

"What are you doing Zane", I asked angrily. "Let me go! I need to help Jay!"

"Please wait a moment, Nya", Zane pleaded. "I am sensing a strong amount of electrical energy coming from that machine. Going near it could be dangerous."

"What even is that machine anyway", Cole asked. "And why is Jay strapped to it?"

"It's…the same machine Dvalin used to drain my lighting from me", Libber revealed. "Now he's doing the same to Jay!"

"What", Lloyd exclaimed. "But why?"

"Perhaps the original electrical energy core will eventually die out", Zane suggested. "Therefore, he is creating a new one from Jay's lighting."

"Then what are we waiting for", I asked impatiently. "We gotta get Jay out of that machine before all of his lighting is drained from him!"

With that…I tried to once again get to Jay, but I was once again held back. This time by Kai.

"Hold on, sis", he started. "Remember what Zane just said. Going near that machine could be dangerous."

"We can't just stand here and do nothing", I stated. "We have to help Jay!"

Kai and I argued over what to do. Then…we suddenly heard a yell!

We turned around…and saw Libber trying to pull Jay out of the machine!

"Libber", I exclaimed.

Then…she managed to pull Jay out…before collapsing to the floor.

Jay's POV

I opened my eyes, and when I did…I saw Libber passed out next to me!

"Libber", I exclaimed before gathering her in my arms.

I got a better look at her…and saw that her body was now covered in scorch marks!

She opened her eyes, and smiled at me.

"Jay", she breathed out before placing her hand on my cheek.

"Libber", I sobbed out. "Did you…pull me out of the machine? Why?"

"For the same reason why I let Dvalin strap me up to that same machine", Libber started. "Because you're my son, and I will do anything to protect you."

"Libber", I said again, with tears falling from my eyes.

"Even if it was only for a few days", Libber started. "I am so glad that we got to be together."

With these last words…Libber closed her eyes.

"No", I said as I began shaking her. "Wake up Libber! Please wake up Libber! Wake up mom!"

But she would never wake up again, so held her close to me…and cried.
