I do not own Fairy tail even though I am obsessed with it.

This story is based 6 years post Alvarez arc x798.

Clarification just in case it is needed.

"speaking of course will be in quotations"

This is a fanfiction. I will not apologize for not having Lucy date Natsu, Gray or whoever you want her with. I will eventually have fanfictions with other ships with Lucy but not right now. If you don't like the ship that's fine, here is your warning so you can avoid reading it. I will NOT tolerate rude comments just because it's "not your ship". Cool go read those ships. There are awesome writers that write them as I have enjoyed them myself. Thank you!

Also, I apologize ahead of time for any grammatical/spelling errors as I do not have anyone helping me edit and as we all know, we writers tend to read our work as it is in our brain instead of how it was actually written. I do try to catch things, but some do fall through the cracks. Thank you all for still reading it in all its glory and flaws. :) Also sorry for the rush through the fighting scenes. I've realized that I am not very good at attempting to write fights.

Hope you all enjoy the story

Previously from Chapter 3

Cris had a sudden feeling of loss and dropped to his knees. Someone had stepped in front of him and offered his own hand to the lunar slayer. When Cris looked up he saw a tan skinned man with midnight blue hair. His eyes were a deep old gold and they had a softness to them. The man wore a gray boscan suit similar to his fathers.

"I'm sorry child, but my slayer isn't ready to be mated yet. She has another key to find before she can."

Chapter 4

Cris' mind was in a flurry with what the older man said. Not only that but the fact that he looked like a human and smelt like a dragon. He accepted his hand and stood back up from the floor.

"I'm sorry, what do you mean your slayer isn't ready to be mated? Are you saying that our brother is the Starbringer's mate?" Vander wanted to know why they had to wait to mate. This did not make any sense from what Cris and Ezmadi had told them from Nurem's teachings.

"He is. My mate Nyrem and I agreed that her slayer would need to be mated to a celestial mage. We also agreed it would be my Princess, even if she wouldn't become a slayer."

"My… my mom agreed who I was destined to be with. But I thought my dragon soul would tell me." Cris was confused. She knew this whole time and didn't tell him. But why?

"That's exactly it. Your mother's soul IS in you. You have to have a part of it to become a slayer. That ensured who you'd be mated to. We needed to make sure the Tatsu would be strong."

Freed looked at the group of slayers coming over to be a part of the conversation about their queen. "But what if Miss Lucy hadn't become a slayer. Would she still have been the Tatsu queen?"

"It makes sense. She has been the only human mage to be kin to every slayer she meets. That's why Draco always said she was a queen. She still would have been being mated to a king." Natsu piped in for his best friend in her absence. He talked with Draco a lot on the matter since his own father Igneel was the original King of the Dragon Tatsu in the Fiorian lands.

"But I've been waiting since I was 12. Why….. why would you make me wait any longer? I know who she is. She was just right here in front of me. I don't understand why I have to wait." His dragon was losing its patience as much as he was.

Draco looked over to the seith mage and nodded. "Ask Bix. He's seen her soul lately. He knows her story during Tataros. Until that truly heals, a mating would kill her."

"Bix. What's he talking about?" The group of Boscans looked over to their brother for clarification.

"She has a large fissure in her soul. It used to be filled with another soul. You see, celestial mage souls are attached to their spirit's souls. Where one was, it now has a fissure man. With as deep and broken as it was, it damn near put out her light."

"I still don't understand. HOW do you end up with a fissure from the loss of a spirits soul?" Farron had researched a lot about celestial magic and had never heard this or what was going on with her soul before.

Bicklow's eyes were pleading with Lucy's loyal spirit. "Loke, can you help with this?"

Loke took a deep breath and led the group to a table to sit. "I'll tell you our princess' story. The story that almost burned the most beautiful soul I've ever agreed to contract with. I, Loke, Leo the Lion, and leader of the Zodiac swore that I will dedicate myself to the Heartfilia line. But that's another story for another day."

"This story involves our princess breaking her very own moral code. Breaking a promise that she had never had any intention to. But it was life or death. There were no other options. Actually, Master Kaleb with your mind bending, could you link all of us so you can see what I saw that day?" He hoped the mind bender could but had reservations.

"Of course." After setting up the link Loke allowed his memories of the fight during Tartaros to be shared.

Loke was watching through the viewing window as Lucy was riding on a piece of wood in the water as she fought off Zeref's henchman with Sagittarius. Everyone else was stuck in the Alegria or knocked out from bane particles.

Lamy had shown up proving to be trouble for Sagittarius' arrows so Lucy closed his gate and called out Virgo. As Virgo was still fighting Lamy Lucy sensed Torafuzar and called Loke out for his help. Being pulled onto earland, he started fighting to help his princess.

Jackal's appearance had caused an even bigger problem since Virgo and himself were already engaged in fighting with Lamy and Torafuzar. Jackal went to fight Lucy as she wrapped him in her whip forgetting about his bomb curse.

Torafuzar was yelling at Jackal about not playing with Lucy and to just finish her off. Lucy knew her magic containers were becoming dangerously low, but she also knew she had to push on, she had to fight even if it meant to her very end. She just needed to release our namaka so we could all fight together to win.

In hopes of being able to win this fight, Lucy for the first time in magic history, opened a third gate.

She called Aquarius to fight against Tozafar, but he can swim against anything. Her water magic was no use. As Aquarius held onto Lucy, both Virgo and himself were sent back into the Celestial Realm and watched from their viewing glass with all of Lucy's other spirits.

Aquarius began to argue with Lucy about breaking her key to summon the spirit king. Lucy didn't want to and cried and tried to come up with another plan. After realizing this was no other choice the spirits watched as their keyholder broke Aquarius' key and felt the shift of the Spirit King going to Earthland.

As Lucy kneeled on the ground crying for her lost spirit, Aquarius popped back into the room grasping at Scorpio.

"I had to do it. I had to make her break our contract. I love that stupid girl but it was all I could do to keep us from losing her. I already lost Layla, I can't lose her too."

As Scorpio held his girlfriend, rubbing small circles in her back to calm her, cried with her. They truly saw Lucy as if she was their own child. Aquarius had watched her grow up from a little girl to the mage she was now.

With tears in their eyes the spirits continued to watch as Jackal and Lamy walked over towards the grieving mage. Before he decided to hit Lucy with his curse again they witnessed him use it on Lamy's very head.

Lucy had made some remarks about hurting his own comrade when he stalked over to her. Aquarius quickly looked into the glass and was mortified that she couldn't do anything else to help until Grandpa Crux told her to bless Lucy with her magic. There was still enough of a link for her to be able to.

So Aquarius as a last gesture of her love for Lucy sent her magic into the mage and helped her put up a wall of magic. Lucy had taken it from there knocking out Jackal with her Urano Metria and then dropping from magic exhaustion herself.

Watching this play out in their minds as if their very own memories had everyone feeling different things. Anger, pride, and sadness. Anger that so many demons were fighting a lone mage, Pride in the fact that Lucy was able to do what no other celestial mage could, and sadness of watching the moment her soul literally broke.

"You see, Lucy willingly broke her contract with Aquarius, breaking her very key. It's the only way you can summon the Spirit King. She loves us as her family and would die for us even though we are immortal. Aquarius was her first spirit, a gift from her mother."

Farron's heart broke watching his god sister fight like she did. "If she broke Aquarius' key, then who's key is she looking for?"

A smile came over Loke's face, "Aquarius. It would take 5 years for her key to come back to Earthland. Lucy's mission right now is to find her key and complete her soul's missing spot. Because she has such a large fissure the trading of soul's during a mating could completely shatter her soul. She'd literally die mating you right now. If it's any consolation, she can't mate the other one either yet."
