Chapter 15 I Love You, Son
Jay's POV
Cliff Gordon's estate was inside of Ninjago City, so we were able to get to it despite the storm.
Cliff himself was buried in the garden of the estate, so that's where I buried my mom as well.
I sadly looked at the spot where I had just buried her.
Cole walked up to me. Then…he gave me a hug.
"I know what it's like to lose my mom", he revealed. "I know that it hurts."
With these words…I sobbed. Then I hugged Cole back.
"Thanks Cole", I said.
Then, I broke the hug before looking at everybody else.
"Sorry guys", I started. "But could you please leave me alone for a bit?"
With that, everybody nodded…before walking off.
Nya gave me one last hug…before walking off as well.
…
I was now in Cliff's secret room.
I was looking at the area dedicated to me…before suddenly becoming angry.
With that anger…I punched the mannequin with my old gi on into the wall!
When I did…something fell from behind one of the photos of me.
I picked up, and saw that it was…a letter.
I opened the letter…and read it.
To Jay, My Son
I am writting this letter in my bed in the hospital.
As I can feel my life coming to an end…I am filled with many regrets.
You and your mother were the most precious things to me, and I took that for granted.
I also wish that I got to spend time with you. Even for a little bit. A tried to once. I went to the junkyard where your mother had told me that she had left you, but when I got there, I saw you happily riding the back of a man. I knew there and then that he was your father, the father I could never be.
But even so, I still wish that I had gone to see you. Maybe I could never be your father, but maybe I could've at least been your friend?"
I love you son, and I will forever be sorry that I never got to tell you that.

When I was done reading the letter…a tear fell from my eye.
"Dad."
With this…I knew what I had to do, so I walked into the living room, where everybody else was.
"Jay", Nya started when she saw me.
"I'm gonna give it another go", I revealed.
"Give what another go", Cole asked.
"Destroying that machine", I replied.
"Are you sure you're okay to do that", Lloyd asked.
"My mom sacrificed herself for me", I pointed out. "Now I've gotta make that sacrifice count. I want to take Stormterror down once and for all!"
With that, everybody looked at each other…before nodding.
"Then what are we waiting for", Lloyd asked. "Let's head back to Stormterror's lair."
