Christian finally made it home from the hospital. The doctor, even Grace told him that he had to take it easy, but with Christian's personality, he would want to go back to work. The look in Ana's eyes when he started to protest about staying home and taking it easy, made he realize that this is what needed to happen. He needed the rest. It wasn't just about him anymore; he had his wife to think about. He wanted to be around for a long time and if taking time off work while he recovered was all that he needed to do then he'll do it.

Ana helped her husband into bed. It was still early, but she knew he needed all the rest he could get. He's had a long couple of days. He wasn't going to be himself for a while; Ana wanted to make sure that he was well taken care of and return the favor. Christian had taken care of her since the day they met. She felt cherished and protective, she wanted that for Christian.

"Sleep well, my husband" she said as she smiled at him. Christian shifted his weight on the bed and get comfortable. It wasn't long before he drifted off into a deep sleep.

As she left the room, she turned off the light and shut the door only leaving it open a little bit. She wanted to be able to hear him if he started to have one of his nightmare. She was sure that being in the hospital was going to trigger a memory. She didn't want to go too far, but she knew she needed time for herself.

Ana went down the doors towards the kitchen. Gail handed her a glass of wine as she sat down at the breakfast bar. She needed wine. She deserved it.

"How's Christian?" Gail asked as she wiped down the counter. Ana knew how much Gail adored Christian. They've been a team for so many years. They developed a bond.

Ana sighed before answering. "He's doing better. I'm just happy that he's home." She didn't feel like talking. She just wanted to enjoy some quiet time. She had a glass of wine and her husband sleeping in their bed. This was the first time that she was able to breath since Christian was admitted to the hospital.

"You can leave for the night, Gail. I can take care of the rest." Gail smiled and nodded as she took of her apron and placed it on the hook near the fridge.

When she knew that Gail had left for the night. She began to cry. This was the first time she was able to think about what had happened and what could have been the outcome. She didn't know what was happening, she didn't know how serious it was. All she knew was that her husband, the one person that was supposed to protect her from the world was hooked up to wires and machines and there was no reason why. She needed to get it all out so she could be strong for Christian. He was always so strong for her, she needed to be there for him.

After wiping away the tears, Ana reached for her phone so she could send a text to Kate telling her that Christian was home. She knew that Elliot wanted to know what was going, but she didn't want to be the one to do it. She wanted Grace to be tell him the news.

She got up from where she was sitting and walked over to the French doors that led to the back porch. She led out a sigh, took a sip of wine and opened up the doors. She stepped into the cool air and breathed in. It was a nice night, the sun was about to set, the sky was lit up with the colors of orange, pink and purple.

All Ana wanted was to have Christian experience this with her, but he needed his rest. She was thankful that he was home. It was a long day, and she just wanted some time to think about what happened.

The buzzing of Ana's phone broke the silence. She saw it was Kate calling her about Christian. "Hey, Kate." She said with a small smile. "Yeah, he's finally home. He fell right to sleep. I should go to bed pretty soon to. It's been a long few days. I'll call you later." Ana hung up and went back inside. She locked the doors behind her.

When Ana got to the bedroom, Christian was taking up the whole bed. She couldn't help but smile as she made her way to her side of the bed. She took off the clothes she was wearing and made her way to the shower. She wanted to get the smell and the feeling of the hospital off of her.

She did her routine with the shampoo and body wash, she turned off the shower, stepped out, dried off and slipped on one of Christian's t-shirts that was hanging on the back of the door. She always felt like he was giving her a hug when she wore something that belonged to him.

Ana made her way back into the bedroom. Christian had moved enough where Ana was able to get into her side of the bed. She pulled back the covers back and got in. She kissed the top of Christian's head. "I love you, my sweet prince" then she curled up as close as she could to him and fell asleep.
