Previously- ?POV-
I watched as the warlock told the group what he had found. Once the were stepping through the portal I returned to my brothers. It was time.
Now- JacePOV-
We stepped through the portal, and into the infirmary at the institute. I laid Clary down on the bed, and stepped back, my mind and heart screaming at me as I did, to allow Magnus to flutter around Clary. He was muttering to himself.
"Glitterberry floss, nightsbane, velox room." I wanted to scream at him to help her, but just as I opened my mouth the roomwas bathed in a bright light. I shielded my eyes, as I turned to face the direction the light was coming from, stepping in between Clary and the source of the light as a did. Magnus had stopped his muttering and once I faced the light, that was now dimming, I understood why.
"Hello Jace Herondale, Isabelle and Slec Lightwood, and Magnus Bane." I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
"Ithuriel?" I said, my surprise dripping off my words like blood drips of a vampires fangs.
"Yes, young shadowhunter, it is me. I have come to help. I can wake Clarissa…"
"Clary." I corrected, out of habit.
"If you will allow me. I would like to help our frined." He said.
"How?" Izzy asked. She had told me of the conversation she and Clary had just before she had been taken from us so cruley.
"I can go into her subconcious, and restore her memories, which at the moment are what are causing her to be in this vegetative state."
"Restore her memories? Why would you restore her memories if you and your brothers are the ones that took them from her to begin with?" Magnus questioned. Not many downworlders would have the courage to talk to an angel the way he was, but Clary had been like a little sister to her, and he was hurt just as much as Alec when Clary left.
"It was not I who took her memoires. I was too weak after Lilith killed me on this plane. I needed time to regain my strength. As it is, I would not have allowed my brothers to take her memories. Those kind of descisions need a unanimous vote, and I was not made aware of the decision until it was too late. Now I do not have much time, will you allow me to help Clary?" I nodded, and slowly moved to the side. Ithuriel glided past me, and gently placed a hand on Clary's forehead.
ClaryPOV-
I was standing in a place filling with a glowing light tinted a slight orange. I saw pictures pass by me at dizzying speed. Me with Jace, as well as me with others, who felt important to me but I couldn't see the pictures long enough to make any sense of them. I had tried reaching for some, and all they did was float away from me like they were ripples in the water. The pictures I was able to see were like scenes from someone else's life. I don't know how long I had been there when I heard.
"Clary." I turned, and I saw a man. I got a similar feeling that I got with Jace, but not as intense.
"Do I know you?" I asked the man, and then I saw large white feathered wings protruding from his back. "Am I dead?" He just smiled, and I immediately felt at ease.
"No, dear one. You are not dead."
"Why are you here then? Who are you?" I asked the man.
"I am Ithuriel young one, and I know that you have been feeling empty this past year. If you want I can restore your memories that were taken from you, but for a price."
Anything." I said immediately.
"You do not wish to know what it is the price is?" Ithuriel asked. I shook my head.
"I know that Jace is important to me, and I want to know why and what I was made to forget. I'll do anything, but give him up."
"Very well." HE reached out his hand to me, and after a second's hesitation I took it. Immediately it was like a shockwave, and all the pictures slowed and looking at each one it was like watching a movie play out of my life. I teared up watching the scenes before me. I finally tore my eyes from the picture to Ithuriel.
"Thank you, Ithuriel. What is the price?" He looked at me.
"The price is the same as before. You must not create anymore runes of your own." I nodded, and asked.
"Does this mean that I am a shadowhunter again? Would I be able to use the runes ive already created?" He nodded.
"Keep your friends closer Clary. You will need them in the coming times. I brought you back because your friends will need you for this battle, but I will not be hesitant to take your memories again if you do not head this warning." He disappeared, and I looked at one of the memories in front of me. It was of the night of Magnus and Alec wedding. Jace was holding me close, and the peace I felt in that moment, made giving my ability up worth it.
"Clary, can you hear me?"
"Jace" I said, and closed my eyes, reaching with my mind toward his voice.
I blinked open my eyes slowly.
JacePOV-
Once moment Ithuriel was there ,and the next he was gone. I stepped toward Clary, and noticed her arms.
"Her runes." I said, and placed my hand on top of hers.
"Clary. Clary, can you hear me?" I asked, looking for any sign that she was coming to. Her eyes fluttered, and slowly blinked open. She slowly looked to toward me, and what I heard next was something I had been waiting to hear for 12 long, agonizing months.
"Jace. I remember, everything."
