Previously-

"Clary. Clary, can you hear me?" I asked, looking for any sign that she was coming to. Her eyes fluttered, and slowly blinked open. She slowly looked to toward me, and what I heard next was something I had been waiting to hear for 12 long, agonizing months.

"Jace. I remember, everything."

Now- JACEPOV-

I pulled her into a hug, and I never wanted to let go. I felt the familiar sensation that I only got from having Clary so close to me. She wrapped her arms around my waist, and squeezed.

"I missed you so much." She whispered in my ear. I tightened my arms slightly.

"I missed you too." We stood there for a moment, before I heard from behind me.

"We would like to see her too, Jace." Izzy practically yelled. I reluctantly let go of the woman who captured my heart, without even trying. As I stepped away, she swung her legs over the side of the bed, and stood up just before Izzy enveloped her in a hug, saying

"I'm so glad my Parabatai is back." I heard Clary chuckle, but it sounded choked.

"I'm so happy to be back Iz." The next person to step forward, helped Clary up from the bed, again. When she met this person eyes, she gasped.

"Luke?! How do you have your runes again?"

"There was one vial left of the serum the Clave made from the fragments of Glorious. Leah didn't want it, so she gave it to me, and here we are."

"So, you're a Shadowhunter, again?" He nodded, and she smiled, and hugged him around the neck. When they pulled apart Simon stepped forward, then Alec, and bringing up the rear was Magnus.

"Welcome home biscuit."

This was a common theme as everyone told Clary a nice sentiment, about being happy to have her back. Once all the hugging had been done, I reached froward and captured Clary's hand in mine. She glanced back at me, and was about to say something when the doors opened, and Mayrse walked in, before stopping dead in her tracks.

"Clary?!" She then turned to me. "You told her?" We both shook our heads.

"Mayrse, I saw Jace outside my art show, and when he tried to leave, I chased after him, because I felt like he was familiar to me. We talked for a minute, with him saying he didn't know me. That's when I saw the rune on his neck, I touched it, and…" She stopped, having no idea what happened next.

"She collapsed, so I called Alec to bring Magnus, once Magnus found out what was wrong with her, we had to bring her back here. He was just starting to work on a potion to help her when Ithuriel showed up, and placed his hand on her forehead…." She picked up from there.

"I was in a room with an orange glow, and there were images all around me. They were spinning around me so fast that it was making me sick. I tried to grab a few, but I couldn't. That when Ithuriel showed and told me that he would give me my memories back. I was never supposed to lose my memories to begin with, because it needs to be a unanimous vote, and Ithuriel wasn't informed, and was also too weak to be present in the meeting after Lilith killed him in our realm." She took a breath, and then continued, "He restored my memories because I would be needed for the fight coming, but for a price." My head whipped around at that.

"What was the price?" She sighed, before looking around.

"The same price that they gave me, that caused me to lose my memories. A few hours before I killed Johnathon, they sent my mom's spirit to me to tell me not to create another rune, or they would do exactly what they did. I knew what was coming when I created that rune to destroy my brother, but I was inspired by Izzy going to Edom. I knew I would lose you guys, but if I hadn't, I would've likely lost you anyway because Johnathon would've hunted all of us down, and killed us for standing against him. I did what I did to make sure my family, and the love of my life…." She said, looking at me with soft eyes. "…were safe." I squeezed her hand, and looked around the room. No one was surprised that Clary would be so selfless, that's just who she is.

"Can you use the ones that you have already created?" She nodded in the affirmative.

"I learned my lesson last time. I can't imagine what all of you must've went through for the past year. Remembering everything now, it breaks my heart, knowing I miss everything that happened in the last year."

"We missed you, and fought demons. The only other thing that you missed was that, Alec has made great strides in improving the relationships between Shadowhunters, and the Downworld. We tried to stay busy, so that we didn't have time to think about you, because it hurt too much. Especially for Jace." Luke said, and Clary looked at me, before squeezing my hand. I don't know how she gave me such a feeling of relief with such a small action, but the feeling washed over me like a tidal wave.

We stayed and talked with everyone for a while, before Clary excused us stating that she was tired. She led me away from the infirmary, and toward my room.

"Clary. Where are we going?" I asked, wondering, not for the first time, what she was thinking.

"You'd think you'd know the way to your own room." She said, with a smirk on her face. Once we were in my room, she let go of my hand, before walking over to my bed and sitting down.

"I'm so sorry." She said, and she looked like she was fighting her emotions.

"For…. What Clary?" I asked, as I made my way to her side, and sat next to her.

"For abandoning you. I should've told you, but I couldn't. You were so happy that night, and I didn't want to ruin it. I know I did, but you should have heard it from me, face to face, not through a letter. That was the cowards way out."

I tilted her face up, and once our eyes connected, I told her,

"Right now, I don't care about that. You're back, and that's what I want to focus on right now, okay?" I tried to convey my sincerity. She took a deep breath and nodded, and laid her head against my shoulder, and I leaned my head against hers for a while before I kissed her forehead and went to stand up.

"Now that you're back, there's something you should have." I said, and walked toward my wardrobe.

"What" she asked, but instead of answering, I grabbed the box I was looking for and walked back over to her. I handed her the box as I sat back down. She looked at me before slowly raising the lid.

"Welcome back, Clary." I said, as tears gathered in the corner of her eyes.
