Dawn of a New Age, Stand Up Unlosing Ranger!

Reeto held a dream in his heart as long as he could remember, a desire, a purpose, a duty to follow. To be a Hero.

"It's finished!" 7 year old Reeto said as he held up the design for his hero costume, expertly sketched with a pencil and coloured with crayons.

"Is that the Unlosing Ranger, Big Bro?" 4 year old Choko asked before her older brother handed her the drawing "Whoa! It's so cool! This is going to be you in the future"

"That's right, because your big bro is going to be a masked hero!" Reeto said with absolute certainly.

Their father, 33 year old Mitsuo Gushiken smiled warmly as he saw his son and daughter playing together "Are you sure you want to be a hero Reeto, it's big responsibility to undertake?"

In response Reeto looked to his father with fire in his eyes and determination "I know, which is why I plan to give it my all to be a hero!"

"That means studying hard and keeping physically fit" Mitsuo said, encouraging his son to study and exercise. He does so already but a little extra encouragement couldn't hurt, in fact he was thinking of exercising more as well so it could be a good father and son bonding routine.

"And having a kind heart filled with justice, after all that is a cornerstone of being a hero" 30 year old Anko 'Matoi' Gushiken said with joy clear in her voice.

It was a happy and warm home with a family that loved each other, and it was interrupt when a single malevolent eye looked in through the window. Before he even knew what was happening Reeto cover Choko as the wall was blown in and they were all sent sprawling, it was a haze of action, one that would set the course for young Reeto's life going forward.

With his family badly injured by a monster the sought to eat, Reeto's body moved on it's own as he reared his arm back to attack the monster who gleefully allowed it to happen. Moments before he connected an aura of green enveloped Reeto and his eyes gaining a spiral pattern to them, the Stray Devil died instantly as the green energy emanating from Reeto healed his family.

Weak, he fell to the ground with his consciousness fading. As he slipped deeper and deeper could have sworn to seeing someone standing over him.

"The Stray got away, I'll alter their memories before continuing the hunt-"

Reeto heard a female voice and felt weird, his memories seemingly going out of order before the same green light from before flashed behind his closed eyes that allowed him to keep both his memories.

It was that night, that Reeto Gushiken's training to become a hero grew in intensity. However, his training would not be the greatest trial he had to face.

8 Years later, 2002

Kunou was frightened and confused.

The last thing she remembered was going to bed before waking up to strange Youkai grabbing her and taking her from her bedroom, she was a nine tailed fox but unlike her mother she had very little experienced using it. As such the 4 year old nine tailed Kitsune couldn't do much as she was forced into her fox kit form and thrown into an animal carrier.

"Will you hurry up, we need to get out of here fast before anyone catches up to us" one of Kunou's kidnappers said as her prison was roughly jostled around.

The leader of the team of kidnappers smiled cruelly "Don't worry, we got enough pieces in play to have that stuck up bitch and her followers to lead them on a wild goose chase. And this little cage will keep the little princess nice and hidden" without warning the leader snatched the specially prepared animal carrier "And if she knows what's best for her, she won't give us any trouble"

The woman holding her took out a knife and pushed the blade through the bars of the carrier, Kunou whimpered in the cage as she tried to make herself as small as possible and praying for her mommy or any one to save her-

"Stop right there, foul criminals!"

The group of kidnappers stiffened as they turned to the source of the voice that just called out to them, prepared to fight at a moment's notice, when they saw it was just a human kid. One wearing a tracksuit, glasses and a red scarf around his neck.

Reeto's sudden appearance threw all the supernatural beings off, even Kunou wasn't sure what to make of the 15 year old who appeared to be their to rescue her.

"Sasaki, just eat the brat and let's move on" the leader said with utter disinterest as she handed the cage back to the thug she took it from, Sasaki nodded and stepped forward to deal with the kid as the others went on ahead. However it wasn't long before Sasaki was sent hurling back and crashed into the leader and several other members of the team, knocking them out momentarily.

The thug holding Kunou's cage barely had time to process what had happened before a solid punch from Reeto left them knocked out, sliding onto the ground with Reeto collecting the cage from the thug's now loose grasp.

Giving the kidnappers a once over Reeto backs away and looks into the cage to see a frightened fox kit hugging itself to the back of the cage, giving him a hopeful look.

Gently Reeto placed the cage on the ground and opened it up, forcing it opening when the door resisted. Once fully open he stepped back to give the little fox space.

Slowly, Kunou inched forward and poked her head out to look up to the mysterious teenage who helped her. Her legs were still shaking from everything that had happened, looking around the 6 year old Kitsune let out a frightened whimper.

"Hey, it's okay now" Reeto said as held out his hand to encourage the little fox to come out "Your safe now, I won't let anything bad happen to you"

Kunou inched towards Reeto's hand and sniffed it, her senses told her that the human boy before her wasn't bad so she got as close as she could to his legs and looked to the group of unconscious kidnappers.

"Now then, what to do next? I don't know if there are any nearby animal shelters, especially this late at night" Reeto said as he used his limited knowledge of Kyoto to decide what to do next, he and his family were only there on vacation due to his father's work so outside of the tourist spots he was lacking points of reference.

Realizing that the human that saved her thought she was a regular fox cub Kunou tried talking to her rescuer "Um, actually-"

Suddenly Kunou was scooped up into Reeto's arms as he leapt away from where he was standing, moments later a blast of magical power struck the area with Reeto just escaping the blast radius with Kunou shield in his arms.

"Whose there?!" Reeto said as he searched for the one responsible, he could feel a strange itch he couldn't place but it didn't last long. Kunou stiffened involuntarily but Reeto's warmth made it pass without issue the next moment.

From the smoke of the blast several Youkai emerged with one of them being an old man with an elongated head, he looked over to the downed kidnappers with a cold expression. He turned his attention Reeto and stared hard at the teen, when nothing happened his expression grew concerned.

"Boy, hand over the fox cub now and we'll let you go" the old man said, beside him various Youkai directed killing intent at the human teen to make him run. However, if anything it had the opposite effect Reeto's determination grew.

"A hero always protects the young from evil, and it's clear to me you aren't good guys" Reeto said, putting Kunou down behind him as his eyes never left the people before him.

The old man, Leader of the East Youkai Faction Nurarihyon shook his head before turning to those beside him "Handle the child, kill him if you must but bring the Kitsune kit to me unharmed"

As one the gathered forces of the East Youkai raced forward to face the human child before them, one who has not even walked this Earth for two decades, each one held the power of a High Class being with a select few among them being Ultimates. Just a grazing blow was enough to kill an ordinary human, but they hadn't realized that Reeto wasn't just an ordinary human.

Contrary to all their beliefs Reeto charge forward to meet the attack and sent them all reeling back, the sheer shock of what they had just seen causing most to lose focus and being swiftly defeated with several kicks and punches from Reeto.

Seeing this the attacking Youkai quickly changed tactics to gang up on Reeto, this actually making him concerned causing him to look back to see Kunou was still behind him watching him fight.

"Run! Get away from here as fast you can! I'll hold this guys back and cover you!" Reeto said as he blocked an overhead attack from one of the attacking Youkai that sprouted several arms from their back.

Several tried to race pass him but in response Reeto tossed the one he was in a deadlock into those going after Kunou on one side while he threw himself in front of the other group to stop their progress but getting injured in the process, they begin to encircle him to overwhelm him from all sides with numbers alone.

And yet, despite her words Kunou couldn't move from her spot as she was transfixed by what was happening. In fact it was because she seemed frozen in place that the attacking Youkai just kept an eye on her to make sure she was still there as they fought Reeto, a fight they were still losing even if they had him on the back foot.

One by one they fell in battle, completely knocked out cold, and when the last one was blown away a shadow covered the heroic lad before a massive fist slammed down onto him.

A Gashadokuro, Starving Skeleton, that was a part of the initial group of kidnappers had regained consciousness and having seen what was happening forced a rapid transformation.

The giant Skeleton continued to apply pressure on Reeto forcing him down further and further, despite his best efforts it wasn't enough.

As he searched for a way out Reeto spotted the stunned Kunou still in her fox form, despite not having the energy to spare he called out to her "Run, I'll keep them busy as long as I kind. I won't let them pass me, I promise" his voice was becoming more strained as more pressure was placed upon him "I'll save you!"

With one more push, Reeto was out of sight of everyone there. However, it was not a victory for the East Youkai as one random human took down some of their strongest on his own while protecting Kunou.

"Damn brat, what the hell even is he?" Gashadokuro said to itself before clattering it's teeth "Doesn't really matter now, although if I eat him I'm bound to get a massive boost in power"

And as for the little fox child, she finally retook her human form with her ears and nine tails in full display. With tears in her eyes she gather as much power into her fox fire as she could and fired it at the starving skeleton, the flame engulfed it's head completel and burnt the organic eyes in the skulls in it's eye sockets.

"S-Stop, let him go! I order you as, as" Kunou momentary courage and bravado was short lived as the giant skeleton looked down at her with hateful eyes.

"Be a good little girl and stop, other wise I may need to break some of those bones you have"

"You shall do no such thing" Nurarihyon said as he walked over to Kunou, his eyes narrowing as he got closer "Strange, whatever power that boy had it counteracts my own. Even just being near him is enough to protect you from my influence"

"Not to be rude boss, but hurry up and grab the brat. We did to get out of here fast before-eh?" the Gashadokuro looked down to see his arm shaking as something was pushing against it "No, this is impossible!"

"I, won't let you take them" green energy spiralled out from the site of impact as Reeto got to his feet.

"Damn it! How is he getting this powerful, is he-!?" the giant skeleton was thrown back and staggered.

The green energy gathered around Reeto and condensed around him, his eyes locking onto those of the Starving Skeleton. And as he looked into Reeto's eyes the Youkai saw a spiral pattern in them "I won't let you lay on hand on them! Unlosing Ranger-!"

Reeto's clothes began to change, gone was the tracksuit and in it's place was a full bodysuit of red and white design with black boots and gloves and a bulky belt with a large V on it's face. A giant V was on his chest and expanding to beyond his shoulders and help keep his cape in place, finally he gained a half helmet that covered his face with semi transparent glass but left the back of his head exposed and hair flowing freely.

"Unlosing Punch!" Leaping into the air Reeto crashed down into the Starving Skeleton Youkai, famed for being Indestructible, his fist making impact on the skull causing the destruction of the Youkai's body made from the remains of the dead.

Enemy defeated Reeto back-flipped and landed between Kunou and Nurarihyon, the former looking at Reeto's caped back in amazement and the former taking a step back out of fear before stray debris from the giant skeleton fell on his head and knocked the powerful Youkai out.

"Well, I guess he was more brains then brawn" Reeto commented on the unconscious Youkai as he gave him a once over before turning around to the fox behind him "Now then, let's get you to safety little-hmm?"

"Um, thank you for saving me mister" Kunou said as she bowed her head in thank to the stranger who helped her, once she raised her head she saw the older teen looking around widely before staring intensely at her "Um, is something wrong?"

"Hang on a minute, you're the little fox I saved?" he looked Kunou over, he took note of her young age, blond hair and golden yellow eyes. Oh and the fox ears with nine little fox tails behind her "Oh! Your a Kitsune!"

Kunou staggered "Wait, you thought I was just a normal fox until just now?"

"Yep" Reeto answered and the urge to facevault was powerful within Kunou "I mean, I could just sense the evil intent off of them from miles away and as a Hero in training I had to step in" his mask turned back into energy revealing Reeto's face as he had an inquisitive look "Not to sound rude or anything, but how old are you?"

"Huh, I'm 6" Kunou answered, feeling a bit self conscious as she saw Reeto ounting her tails. For some reason Kunou felt extra embarrassed by the boy who saved her doing it.

"I mean, are you six hundred years old or six thousand?" Reeto asked "Don't Kitsune get new tails after hundred or thousands of years?"

Kunou's eye widened before shaking her head "No, No, No. I'm six, not hundred, thousand or more! Just six, I was born in 1996!"

"Sorry, sorry" Reeto said, hoping he didn't offend the little girl for presuming her age "Anyway, this makes thing a whole lot easier. Do you know where your home is?"

Kunou looked around uncertain for a moment before looking back to Reeto "I know the way if we can get to a landmark, mummy taught me how to read leylines so I can use those to get back"

"Alright, in that case then I'll escort you home. Reeto Gushiken, soon to be known as the Absolute Victory Unlosing Ranger, it's nice to meet you!" Reeto said as he gave Kunou a bright smile and held out his hand.

Gently Kunou shook Reeto's hand, as she did she couldn't help but note how so much large then are than hers "I'm Kunou, I'll be in your care. Mister" hearing groans from the other Youkai the little Kitsune clung onto Reeto as they both looked over the sea of unconscious Youkai "What do we do about them?"

Reeto tapped his chin "I may just have the thing with me" With those words Reeto pulled out rope and a large lunchbox from behind his back. Kunou had no idea what he was planning but just decided to watch.

Later….

Yasaka was beside herself with worry, her daughter had been kidnapped not several hours before and they have yet to hear any news about her whereabouts or who took her. Already Yasaka was prepared to storm off and search for her daughter herself but she had to stay behind in case the kidnappers sent a note.

As she waited for word a guard burst into the room she was staying in, the Kitsune mother praying it was good news about her daughter but the look on the guards face removed that possibility from her mind.

"Lady Yasaka! An intruder has breached the front barriers and are making their way to her as we speak, we need to-"

"I'll greet them personally" Yasaka said as she got up, even if whoever this was wasn't connected to her daughters kidnapping she needed both a distraction and an outlet for the rage for those who stole her little Kunou from her.

It wasn't long before Yasaka was in the courtyard facing where the intruder was meant to arrive at and even sooner a figure raced up from the stairs and landed in the middle of the courtyard with a large box being pulled by the intruder with rope.

"Have no fear, the hero Unlosing Ranger is here!" the strangely dressed intruder loudly proclaimed before lowering himself closer to the ground "And, a special guest tonight"

It took a moment but once she saw it there was not mistaking it, Kunou rode on the stranger's back and as he bent to let her Kunou ran over to her mother "Mummy!"

"Kunou!" Yasaka embraced her daughter in a tight hug, not wanting to let her go or out of her scent again. She doubled checked her scent and energy, there was no doubt about it that it was her daughter. Home safe and sound.

Reeto looked at the reunion of mother and daughter with a heart-warming smile, before said smile became brittle as dozens of guards pointed their weapons at him "I come in peace…"

"Wait, don't hurt him. Mr Hero saved me, even when he thought I was a normal fox" Kunou quickly said as Yasaka carried her daughter in her arms.

The head guard furrow his brow "Mr Hero?"

"That's right, an ally of Justice to protect the innocent. Unlosing Ranger!" Reeto said with a great deal of bravado as his cape seemed to move by a non-existent wind, one guard tried to find the source of the wind current causing the cape to flutter but found nothing.

Yasaka smiled warmly at Reeto's antics "If so, I am forever in your debt for saving my daughter Unlosing Ranger. If you have need of the Youkai of Kyoto I will do my best to offer you my support, all you need do is ask"

"I can't really accept that, as seeing you and your daughter smile at being reunited is more then enough" Reeto said without missing a beat, his words honest and pure as all he wanted to do was to rescue Kunou and save her returned home safely "Oh, where should I put the bad guys?" as he asked this he pointed to the large box he was pulling along.

"Bad guys, you mean my daughter's kidnappers" Yasaka looked down to Kunou in her arms with a gentle expression before she turned away and looked at the box with cold eyes "Dispense them here, if their condition isn't too gruesome"

With a nod Reeto undid the rope before angling the box led away from him, with one pull the led was removed and out from it shot out the Youkai encountered earlier with them all landing in a heap in the middle of the courtyard with a stirring East Youkai leader on top.

"Nurarihyon, to what do we own this unexpected visit?" Yasaka asked the Eastern Youkai leader, the way Kunou tensed in her arms was more then enough for the Western Youkai leader to now he at least had a hand in her kidnapping.

"Yasaka, if it means anything at this point, I had only the best of intentions" Nurarihyon weakly defended himself, he was uninjured save for a bump on his head "I never wish harm on little Kunou, but I needed you to bend the knee for all our sakes-"

"Don't say my daughter's and tread careful Nurarihyon" Yasaka said coldly, her eyes sharpening at those words "Will you give yourself up, or will you put up a fight"

The old man with an elongated head sent a side glare to Reeto "I suppose you'll have your new attack dog face me, like how you sent him after my men"

"Actually, I have absolutely no idea who he is" Yasaka said as she pointed to Reeto "Young man, who are you allied with?"

Reeto poses heroically "All who have a strong sense of justice in their hearts! But, specific names… no one"

"Wait, do you even know about the supernatural or the various Factions before tonight?" a guard asked, their expression incredulous at what they were hearing.

Reeto answered with a thumbs up "I know the supernatural is real, but nothing else!"

All the guards facevaulted at those words, Yasaka looked at Reeto mouth agape while Kunou giggled. Nurarihyon eye began twitching violently, a vein throbbing on his forehead "You mean to tell me, that you are utterly unconnected to any Faction and intervened just because!?"

"Not just 'just because' I did it because someone was in danger" Reeto responded, once he did the East Youkai Leader took in a deep breath as he seemed to calm down.

He gave Reeto a dark smile "Fine, I didn't want to do this" at his words a powerful aura erupted from Nurarihyon and took over all but the most resilient Youkai, those not strong enough or unable to protect themselves was overtaken by the aura and became the loyal puppets of Nurarihyon with even his defeated followers rising up again despite how hurt they were "Tell me, child. Do you think you can overcome my army with your delusions?"

"Of course, because a hero always finds a way to save the day. All I need is my burning desire for heroism, my integrity of character, my drive for a better tomorrow and this gun I have!" Reeto said before reaching into his cape and pulling out what appeared to be a toy gun with a V on the side.

Yasaka wasn't sure how to feel about the young man before her having a gun "Um, do you know how to use that?" as she asked this she was also fighting off the influence of Nurarihyon and noted how Reeto and Kunou seemed utterly unaffected by it.

Reeto turned to look at Yasaka, a reassuring smile visible through his face mask "Don't worry, I've been training how to use this" the next instant the gun misfired and a bullet comprised of energy was sent directly to a nearby mind controlled guard.

'Uh oh' Reeto thought before pushing himself beyond his limits to get in front of the bullet and deflect it before doing it again and again until the pullet was now set to hit directly in the middle of Nurarihyon's group. Racing to be in front of Yasaka and Kunou Reeto took aim and fired the gun properly this time, the two bullets meeting each other and destroying one another in an explosion that defeated Nurarihyon and ending his control over those around him.

Yasaka looked at Reeto wide eyed, despite her abilities she was barely able to keep track of Reeto's movements as he deflected his own bullet to create so form of explosion. The sheer speed, it defied all reason and the power rolling off of him…

As she was lost in thought the recovered guards went to work arresting Nurarihyon and his followers, as they were carted off she looked over to Reeto just as he fell over and laid on the ground. The outfit he wore that seemed straight out of a modern day Tokusatsu show disappeared in green light leaving only a tracksuit, getting a good look at him Yasaka realized he was even younger then she thought. Somewhere between middle school and high school.

Kunou leapt out of Yasaka arms and raced over to the downed boy with Yasaka right behind her "Hey, hey are you okay? Open your eyes, come on Onii-san (Big Brother)-!"

Reeto let out a loud snore as he curled up a little as he slept on the ground. Kunou let out a relieved sigh as Kunou used her hand to hide her smile and laugh before picking him up and taking Reeto inside to rest up while the guards collected the slightly charred unconscious Youkai to be taken into custody.

Yasaka was thankful that the only issue with the young boy who saved her daughter was exhaustion, after assuring that he was taken care of Yasaka let her daughter watch over the boy who saved her as she dealt with Nurarihyon chained in cells.

The issue was over something they had discussed in length before but neither coming to an agreement due to wildly different stances on the matter, she spent over an hour questioning them and working out deals for them to be let go. Despite everything, politically their hands were mostly tied with Nurarihyon but his followers were not as politically protected.

With a sigh Yasaka left as plans for dealing with this Internal Faction political nightmare were already being formed, if not dealt with quickly and delicately it could lead to a civil war among the Youkai.

"So long as Kunou is safe, I'm content" Yasaka whispered to herself, as she neared the room Kunou was in she caught the unmistakable sound of the six year old Kitsune laughing.

Picking through the door she spotted Kunou playing with a ball and with Reeto, who was up and seem no worse for wear, Yasaka spied on them for a few minutes and couldn't help but note how Reeto seemed to quickly and naturally default into a big brother personality.

Unable to hold back her smile Yasaka came in to properly greet the boy who saved Kunou, and to share with them the reason behind Kunou's kidnapping and what drove the East Youkai Leader to do it.

"Darkdeath, Evilman" Reeto repeated with an intense expression.

Yasaka nodded, she wanted to let out a sigh at the name but refrained from doing so "Yes. We don't know we're he came from or what his purpose is, all we know for certain is that Darkdeath has made good on his name in leaving behind a trial of destruction across the supernatural world, defeating all who stood in his way be they human, god, devil, angel and anything else"

Kunou tightened her fists "And that's why I was kidnapped?"

"It's expected Darkdeath will arrive in Japan sooner rather then later to continue his carnage, Nurarihyon wanted to unify all Youkai for a long time and this only made him more bold in his methods. Said methods would be extreme and cause no end to head and heartaches" Yasaka expression turned grim "There are whispers of Darkdeath having some grander plan, and that if no one stops him soon Darkdeath Evilman will attack civilians soon enough"

"Darkdeath Evilman, he-" Reeto's shoulders shook for a moment before looking to Yasaka wide eyed "There's no doubt about, he's Final Boss material!"

Reeto stayed around for a little while for Yasaka and Kunou to ensure he was fine, but once the sun began to rise Reeto realized he lost track of time and apologized as he had to get back to his family as they're train left early. Saying goodbye Reeto raced off to meet up with his family before they got up.

Despite being sleepy Kunou wanted to say goodbye to Reeto at the train station, Yasaka agreeing as it seemed right to see off the boy who spent the last night of his vacation to save her daughter. Of course they had dozens of guards with them to be on the safe side.

They didn't have to wait long as they spotted Reeto soon after arriving, although they almost missed due to how much language he was carrying.

"Did you have everything?" a man with a sour expression asked Reeto as he looked at him.

Reeto would have saluted but as his arms were full he just nod "Yeah, I still have everything"

"Well if we lose anything you'll be responsible for it" a girl younger than Reeto but older than Kunou said.

"Don't worry Choko, your big brother had everything accounted for" Reeto said, Kunou eyes widened as she focused on Reeto's little sister Choko and as she did Kunou decided she didn't like the look in her eyes.

Choko narrowed her eyes "Oh? Didn't you say the exact same thing LAST time"

Reeto shrunk into himself a bit "Again, it wasn't my fault. I already-"

Kunou glared daggers at Choko for being mean to Reeto, seeing this Yasaka patted her daughter's head "Now, now. I'm sure she doesn't mean anything bad by it, just a little spat between-"

Yasaka words trailed off as Reeto's mother arrived and 'encouraged' her son to get a move on and to stop blocking peoples path.

"I swear, there's something wrong with that boy. How useless can he be if he can't see he's blocking everyone" Anko said, her words lost over the chatter of the crowd for most but Yasaka and Kunou were able to make out their words.

Mitsuo grumbled, looking like he wanted to say something when he looked at his wife but held his tongue "The second he's old enough I'm kicking him out the same day, get him out of our lives for good"

"Oh, we could just leave him here" Choko suggested with a bright smile at the idea.

Anko shook her head "We tried that before and he just came back, we'll need some other idea to get rid of him, although chaining him up somewhere is an option. He's so useless I doubt he could get back if he was in another country"

Yasaka crushed a section of wall with her bare hands as a furious mood fell on her, hearing Reeto's mother calling her son useless with the rest of the family having undeserved level of malicious for the young man after he risked his life to save Kunou ignited a dark emotion within Yasaka.

She would have some Youkai keep an eye on the family, praying that they just got them on a bad day and things weren't as bad as they seemed.

But, if her worse fears were realized then Yasaka would waste little time in bringing Reeto into her family. How well said former family ends up afterwards will depend on how they act to their heroic son and brother.

[Unlosing Time Skip!]

"See ya Reeto!"

"Catch ya later!" Reeto said as he waved goodbye to the store clerk, a smile on his face as he raced through the streets using paths no one aside from someone who had scouted the area thoroughly would know about. As he ran he spotted a child crying as a balloon was caught in a tree, with a long jump he grabbed the balloon and handed it tot he child stopping their tears.

He waved goodbye before resuming his run, pushing his abilities to not impede others as he raced as fast as he could. Eventually he arrived back home with all the things he was sent out to get, the shopping list still in his pocket.

"I'm home" Reeto said, keeping his voice down as his family didn't like him raising his voice above a certain threshold. Which was anything above just louder than a whisper.

Going into the kitchen Reeto found his mother giving him an annoyed look when she laid eyes on him, she took the bag off him without a word before looking over the contents "Where's the salt?"

"Salt?" Reeto repeated "We have two-"

"And one of them is nearly empty, do I really need to tell you every little detail" Anko said before sighing "Forget it, just go to your room and try not to make too much noise or break anything"

Reeto lowered his head and went to his room, learning that whenever anyone in his family got like this it was better to keep his head down until they had time to calm down. Getting to his room he sat down at his desk and brought out a suitcase with a lock on it, pushing his thumb against the lock green and red energy filled it before opening it up.

Inside were tools and a belt buckle filled with circuitry and other parts, bringing out the tools strapped to the lid Reeto began putting the finishing touches on his transformation belt. In the past when Reeto used his abilities he would always find it they would be depleted all too soon, as such he began working on equipment to to remedy that issue.

He was already familiar with the process of channelling the energy inside himself into objects to massively increase their attributes and even grant them powers they would not have otherwise, his sister's old magical princess wand toy being a fine example as once he had upgraded it the toy wand allowed him to use elemental magic. Or at less imitate it, it appeared to use his Heroic Energy without his Spiral Energy.

Some testing revealed that the green Spiral energy did not work well with magic, in less scientific words it appeared the green spiralling energy was repulsed by the magic and this destroyed it without mercy.

Due to that Reeto had stayed away from any form of magic and used his Heroic Spirit and Spiral Power to upgrade tech with a great deal of result.

As he finished off the belt he heard his mother call everyone for dinner, carefully putting everything away Reeto got up for dinner to find his family gathering together. Sitting down he tried to ignore how his parents tried not to look at him or their cold stares to the other, Choko sitting further away from him didn't help matters either.

He sat quietly as he ate his dinner, an attempt he made to join the conversation being met with silence, feeling unwanted Reeto finished his dinner and headed back to his room. He barely had the door closed before they started talking very actively again, every night it only seemed to get harder and harder.

It had been eight long years since that monster attacked them randomly that night, it was the night Reeto discovered the power within himself that allowed him to defeat it. However after he woke up the next morning he saw their family home was completely unchanged, like it wasn't totalled the night before.

Since then his family had changed, it felt like whenever they looked at him they saw something unpleasant and wanted to forget. He tried to get through to them, to break whatever spell that had befallen them but nothing he tried seemed to work.

He was at the top of his class, jumped grades, made lots of friends and took part in every club he could. All this and more he did to be a hero to save people, or at least save his family.

And though he hadn't made progress, he would not stop fighting until he and his family could smile together like a family again.

The next day, there was an alarming news report. Reports of a demonic giant calling himself Darkdeath Evilman destroying parts of Tokyo, fatalities haven't been reported yet but it was believed it could change at any moment.

Hearing this Reeto knew exactly what to do, going into his room he grabbed his transformation belt and put it. He rushed back out where the rest of his family was watching the live news reports.

Opening his mouth Reeto was prepared to say what he was going to do, but stopped himself. He could see how his family would react to him going out to stop Darkdeath, mocking him, calling him stupid and encouraging him to go as it meant they wouldn't have to see him again. It wasn't a hard guess to make considering the past eight years, taking a deep breath his said goodbye to his family in his mind and headed out.

Finding an out of the way spot Reeto struck a pose "Its, Morphin Time!" with that phrase Reeto transformed into his alter ego, the hero of Absolute Victory the Unlosing Ranger, with his heroic spirit surging he raced off to face Darkdeath Evilman.

Author's Note:

Had this in the back of my head for a while so I decided to just write up what I can to get the idea out there.

A summary of what would happen afterwards, Reeto (Unlosing Ranger) would battle Darkdeath Evilman and defeat him before racing after the Final Boss into space to save him from his own exploding Mecha with Reeto needing to use both Heroic Spirit (Disgaea) and Spiral Power (Gurren Lagann) to shield them from the blast completely which worked but had the add on effect of spreading Spiral Power and Disgaea level potential to all of humanity.

Spiral power being something for beings with Spiral DNA and a general rule is that supernatural beings (and those made artificially which all Angels and Devils are, Dragons being masses of energy means they also can't get it) can't use it, those reincarnated into other races either outright lose the ability or their ability to generate and control the power lowers by 99.99%, and the Disgaea level potential / Heroic Spirit piggy backed on the Spiral power.

Needless to say this combination of powers being spread to all of humanity breaks the setting over the knee, tech advances rapidly and the supernatural has a harder time keeping at more than usual. It starts getting harder and harder to reincarnate humans as the cost just keeps going up and up, essentially the price of reincarnating into other DxD races rises due to inflation which would be an important plot point going forward.

And this inflation would only get worse, what would only need 1 Pawn to reincarnate someone will become 1.6, then 2, than 4 etc etc. Forcing Devils to become personally stronger to deal with inflation but it's so rapid that most consider it impossible to reincarnate humans soon and as such search out other races and other means to increase their numbers.

Darkdeath Evilman, who turns out to be a boy genius, reveals that he was part of the Sigurd Institute and had to work as a scientist since he wasn't a capable warrior and any other choice could have led to his death. He would be more or less adopted by Reeto as a little brother as the two go off to be the first Super Heroes of DxD.

Other Disgaea Human character expies would appear and being regarded as heroes as well with humanity beginning the process of becoming a spacefaring civilization.

And that's all I got really, I have some minor ideas but I can't for the life of me write it out in a way I like.

Oh, and the issue with Reeto's family is that the one doing the memory altering on his family did a rush job which led to them being subconsciously remembering the horrible feelings of that night and eventually it caused a rift to form in the family. Reeto being unaffected due to Spiral Power.
