After an all-day family ooting, the Forgers returned home exhausted. Yor and Loid tuck in an already-asleep Anya, Bond curling up next at the foot of her bed. Yor had just finished getting ready for bed when–

"Yor, come sit with me."

She turned around, expecting to find Loid on the couch, but instead, he was seated in the armchair. A very narrow armchair.

"Oh. Um." Yor approached him, trying awkwardly to sit on the arm of the chair.

"No, no, not there," said Loid impatiently. "I meant here, you silly woman." He snaked an arm around her waist and sank her into his lap. She yelped, then blushed as her husband wrapped himself around her. He buried his face into her neck, where he found that it fit perfectly. After a moment, Yor managed to say, "Is there…something you wanted to talk about?"

"No," Loid replied. "I just…wanted you to myself for a moment. To enjoy you."

Yor was taken aback, but said nothing. Instead, she carefully pried an arm loose from where it was pinned against Loid's chest. Then, with tremendous care, she wrapped the arm around the back of Loid's neck, her fingers brushing through his hair. Loid inhaled deeply. "I wish we could stay like this forever."

"Erm," said Yor. "Loid?"

"Yes?"

"I have to pee."

"Oh! Yes, of course." Loid released her and watched as she unfolded herself from his lap. Before she left, however, Yor kissed his hair and said, "To be continued", leaving Loid sitting there with a goofy grin plastered on his face.

When Yor returned, however, Loid was already fast asleep. Her husband had been doing this often as of late, nodding off in the living room when his exhaustion overwhelmed him and his energy gave out. Smiling softly, Yor lifted him into her arms and carried him to his room, making sure to disturb him as little as possible.

After cocooning him comfortably on his side (she remembered that he liked to sleep on his side), she sat there watching him for a moment, appreciating the little details about him: the well-defined silhouette of his jawline, the slow rise and fall of his powerful shoulders, the way his sharp features softened when he was asleep. Finally, forcing herself to peel away from him, she rose and...

"Hey, wait a minute," said a voice.

Yor whipped around, her arm instinctively bearing down heavily on whatever had grabbed her. She stopped an inch short of shattering Loid's arm, which had shot out from under the covers to catch onto the sleeve of her dress.

Luckily for both of them, Loid also moved like lightning. He immediately let go, but when he saw Yor stumbling backward, he lunged forward and caught her in his arms before she could tumble to the ground.

Once Yor was secured, Loid bowed his head. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have startled you like that."

Yor was shaking in his arms, and when she spoke, her voice wobbled. "Why…why did you grab me?"

Loid bent close to her ear, whispering, "You didn't think I'd let you go that easily, did you? And weren't you the one who said that this was to be continued?"

"I…did say that," Yor admitted.

"Hmm, I sense hesitation," Loid said, setting Yor on her feet again. He held up his hands.

"Listen, I was going to ask you to stay with me tonight, but if you want to go back to your room, I won't stop you. It's just…soothing to have you near me." He clambered back into bed, but now it was his turn to feel a tug. Loid pivoted to find that Yor had caught the hem of his shirt.

"I'd like that," she said, staring at the floor instead of looking at him. Her mouth quivered in a thin line and her shoulders were trembling slightly.

Loid smiled his crooked half-smile. "In that case…" He pinched the hem of her sleeves, his fingers working its way up the fabric as he reeled her in. Once Loid reached her underarms, he lifted his wife off the ground and deposited her next to him. Throwing the blanket over both of them, he tucked in the corners and then scooted closer to Yor until their noses were touching.

"Goodnight, Yor," he murmured, nuzzling her.

He had almost drifted off when he felt the softest of soft sighs brush against his lips.

"Goodnight, Loid."
