Life is hard for Dabari wekens. He is an 18-year-old autistic black kid that is a complete prehistory nerd with an average build-in to being the oldest orphan at an orphanage. Worst of all, he resembles a homo sapiens/ neanderthal hybrid with a horn-like bump on his head. However, he learned a long time ago that he has to take it all in stride, plus being an avid prehistory nerd is never dull. Especially with the dinosaur tooth-shaped gemstone he wears as a necklace found with him.
On his 18th birthday, his class is going on a field trip to a paleontology dig site. However, a giant sinkhole at the rocky dig site sucks him into a swirling underground lake/ portal to another world. This world isn't just any planet. This planet is filled with alien dinosaurs and other prehistoric-Esque lifeforms with fantastic superpowers. Then he encounters a giant vibrantly colored alien named Ravez, then later on a tribe of large Rhino-horned Neanderthals with vibrant colored stripes. There are also four other neanderthal teenagers with similar gemstones to him
After realizing the dangers of this new world, Dabari decides to stay with the tribe and form a partnership with Ravez. The black boy mages to prove his worth when he discovers that his gemstone necklace lets him transform into semi-humanoid prehistoric alien lifeforms with all the powers that come with each form.
Together Dabari, Ravez, and the four neanderthal teens join forces to help protect the tribe from Deadly animals, feral rival tribes, and prehistoric nightmares that would haunt the dreams of the most savage warriors. Unfortunately for them, Dabari and Raviz have finally found the closest things they could call family. The thought of some psychos trying to take that away from them makes them go primeval
