Ash was currently lost he ventured out of old professor oaks ranch and he was scolding himself for not bringing a compass and map.

He thought on it and everyone is probably looking for him. It's been a couple days of wondering looking for a road.

Tough considering he can't tell if he is walking in circles or not. What Ash did know is he is grateful that he is studying under oak till he is fourteen the age that is required to get a poke-license, Because of it he knows what to eat and how to set up camp.

Does it help him become less lost no. Does he hope to find Pokemon kinda.

Mainly since he can only semi understand them. Since he was young.

Ash pauses his thoughts.

Ok. Since he was younger, he is only nine, has been able to almost communicate with Pokemon. He could understand some words the best he and the professor could describe it is that it is as if he was learning a different language and has gotten to the point where he could understand them but only if they talked slower then was convenient.

When he started studying under professor oak it was more of a one word every other sentence so it's getting better. Though the professor nor ash could figure out why.

Ash stops his thoughts of being lost and of how he can kinda understand Pokemon. To look at a big cave entrance.

He feels as if he should enter it. So he does.

As he does he notices that inside is weird. He also realizes that only a powerful Pokemon could cause what he is seeing.

Pools of icy water that is right next to a pool of bubbling lava. He also saw arcs of electricity arcing from stalagmites and stalactites and there's a constant static in the air.

Ash was debating heavily with himself. Logically thinking he should turn back but he was so curious.

He wanted to know if this was three, two or to his hope one Pokemon with all three types.

As he got farther into the cave Ash hears a Pokemon's voice. "I am AQUAAAA-OORREED"

Ash runs up and sees a bird. A LARGE bird.

It's also the coolest looking Pokemon that he has ever seen. It's head starts with an orange beak that fades to golden feathers as it goes back further though the small gold feathers have a few large feathers around the head with a large flame coming out of the back of it's head although right above it's white eyes lay three equally large feathers that are made of ice. The small golden feathers smoothly go down it's neck till they fluff out towards it's shoulders. Once it hits its wings though is truly magnificent The wings feathers are sorted into three layers the smallest of them but still probably the size of ash for prospective is a shiny obsidian black. The middle is a brilliant gold with hints of orange. Finally the largest the bottom was made of ice, but the I've was on fire infact the hole back of the bird was on fire. The fluffy feathers of it's chest was against what he considered natural they were small ice feathers that together make a feather shape towards the Pokemon's legs but it was the fact that they looked so incredibly soft that through him off. Though the thing that amazed him the most was the tail. It started off as large black feathers that had larger golden orange feathers behind it but the most amazing thing was the long, soft looking tail that was made of water that WAS ON FIRE. (look up 'all three legendary Pokemon combined' for what this description is based off of)

Then the majestic bird saw him and turned it's head towards him. When Ash's eyes met the Pokemon something clicked in his mind is the only way he could describe it.

Then he heard it's voice as it got to it's feet ignoring the rock that it was playing with "A Human but no human should be able to see let alone enter this cave."

At first it sounded defensive and looked to be ready to attack then it calmed down. "Oh you're just a child. You should go home. Who am I kidding all you hear is Aqua-Feuersturm"

Ash rubs the back of his head. "Yah about that. I can't go home I'm lost."

It froze, before looking right at Ash "Did you. Just understand me."

Ash was about to nod when he realized he understood him perfectly. "I did. Huh. Normally I have trouble understanding Pokemon. Oh the professor is going to freak out about this. "

Aqua-Feuersturm tilts it's head. "So human cannot understand Pokemon."

I nod. "No have you not tried"

It shakes it's head. "No I haven't. I have been in this cave for sooo long. I lost count after 500 years I was pretty much born in this cave and I was starting to think I'd die in this cave without seeing the world or exploring. Or battling."

Ash felt bad. "You've been alone for that long."

It shakes it head "No I had the occasional friend. right now it's of my first friends direct line. It was a Magikarp that was supper strong while his descendant isn't as strong he is still stronger then what most of them are if I had to guess he is more skilled then me if I'm going to be honest I just don't know any moves I've been stuck in this blasted cave. Just like how the cave blocks humans entering it blocks me from leaving."

Ash nods he is interested in this Magikarp but he is trying to think of a solution to this problem.

The silence lasts quite a while before an idea hits Ash. "What if I capture you. I can go in and probably leave the cave as well since the PokeBall is kinda like a pocket dimension maybe it will let you slip by."

Aqua-Feuersturm immediately looks excited about that idea "Are you a trainer"

Ash frowns "Not yet I still have a 5 more years. But when I get my license you can be my second Pokemon."

The majestic Pokemon gains a look disappointment before asking in a sad voice "Second?"

Ash frowns "Well when I get the license I have to get a starter from the professor. Well in order to meet the requirements to carry twelve PokeBall. See while my dream is to be a Pokemon master I plan to be a professor and to be one you have to go through a journey or multiple if you want to be a world class professor which I will be. Traveling professors in training can carry 12 a traveling professor 18 and a world class professor as well as a champion of at least three regions can carry 24 although the latter there has only been five only one of which has been champion of 4."

It tilts it's head "Man, times have changed compared to when my first friend was a battler."

Ash nods then an idea pops in his head "We can still train though since I can't take you out we can teach you moves since this cave is massive." It nods clearly excited to learn.

It then spoke "And I can teach you aura and how to communicate with it"

This time it was Ash's turn to be confused "Aura. What is that. Never heard of it"

It laughs. Though after a minute of Ash getting more and more confused it stops. "Oh. you really don't know. Times have changed. I can only really sense it. I can sense you have an insanely huge aura and a Lucario years ago told me the basics in some of our chats "

Ash nods then turns around to the entrance "Ok I'll be back to start training once I get home. I'll get a map and compass and come back. Promise."

It nods as ash leaves.

Ash gets fully out of the cave he pauses to think about how to get home when he hears foots steps.

He turns and sees Professor Oak.

Oak turns and yells back in the direction he came "I FOUND ASH"

Apparently Ash was walking in circles for days since the mountain is literally just a hour and a half straight walk with a compass and map.

Something Ash still is kicking himself for two days later. Though currently he is in the cave that has Aqua-Feuersturm ready to start training.

"Alright what moves do you know Aqua" Ash asks while looking at a clipboard with a bunch of moves that she should be able to learn.

Aqua-Feuersturm tilts her head. "Umm. Peck. Is there a flying tackle"

Ash nods and rights those two down while responding "It's would just be tackle."

Aqua-Feuersturm continues her list after Ash's correction with. "Gust, safe guard, and mist."

Ash nods he may not show it but he was expecting more but it's a good foundation at least.

Let's see Ash knows more on electric moves so that's where we will start. "Ok I want to work our way up to zap cannon but that will take a bit let's start with a easy move thunder shock."

Aqua-Feuersturm nods then pauses realizing it doesn't know what move that is "What is Thunder shock"

Ash realizing that Aqua-Feuersturm may have trained in controlling lightning but not moves starts to explain "Thunder shock is simply just a move where you send electricity at an opponent." Ash looks around and sees a rock and points at it. "See that rock try sending electricity towards it"

The majestic Pokemon nods and lights up sending what Ash can only describe as an intensely strong thunder considering that it went into the air almost hitting the roof of the cave. Almost impressive since the whole of the mountain is almost hollow. Then smashing down into the rock for a solid 30 seconds before it stops. Where the rather large rock considering it was taller then Ash use to stand was now a considerably large whole.

Aqua-Feuersturm looks to Ash "How did I do."

Ash smiles "You absolutely destroyed my expectations. You don't need the basics considering that you did thunder instead. The only thing that I see we need to work on is control. I don't want you to accidentally kill a Pokemon in a friendly match."

The large bird tilts her head "It's not all about power. The one fight I had before I was put away was all about it"

Ash tilts his head. "I thought you said you were born in this cave"

Aqua-Feuersturm sighs "It was more made in this cave. I have no clue how they made me but a group of evil humans captured the three birds. Who I consider brothers and rivals by the way so don't even think about capturing them. "

Ash smiles and thinks about Gary he may argue with him but he could consider him a brother and rival so he could understand how Aqua-Feuersturm felt.

The bird then continues it's story "It wasn't far hell it may have been this island but when I gained consciousness I freaked out and went wild I freed the birds not knowing what I was doing and the three of them together made me go unconscious from what they told me after I gained consciousness they put me in the cave with another Pokemon not knowing if I actually had a mind or if I was just bent on destruction so to prevent evil people from getting me if I was they affected this mountain around me and a barrier."

A sad expression forms on Ash's face "I really hope our idea works and I can get you out of this prison"

It nods with a smile. Ash then shakes his head "Back to training for us. We need to work on your control before we move to zap cannon"

Ash looks around and thinks. After a bit of debating with himself he smiles "Ok that is what we will do."

Aqua-Feuersturm looks at her trainer with curiosity before Ash turns to her "For today we will be repeating Thunder till there is not even a spark coming of the rocks." Ash gulps "After the lightning training is finished I will stand on the rock and you must hit the rock without hurting me."

She slowly nods then asks "So will you be learning aura"

Ash smiles "Yes I will."

The bird sighs in relief "So you will block it if I can't"

Ash frowns as he shakes his head "No I trust that you will be able to hold back and not hurt me at that time."

She hesitates before asking "Are you sure"

Ash smiles up at her "If I can't trust my Pokemon I'm trading who can I trust."

This causes the ancient bird to feel happy but at the same time scared to let ash down and hurt him.

Days turned to weeks of training everyday after he would work with Professor Oak he would leave and it wasn't unnoticed by the professor. So one day before Ash left he asked the boy where he was going. "Ash I notice you always run off into the woods every day you come back late afternoon then proceed to push Gravelers as well as hope from pole to pole training so what brought on this change. I know that you want to be a world professor and world champion both of which you do have to put a lot of work into but you always said you would begin with your Pokemon so not to leave them out."

There are currently only two people Ash can't lie to. One his mother because loved her to much to lie about anything to her and two Professor Oak his role model and someone he respects above everyone except his mother.

So he tells him the truth "I did say that and it's still true. I found a Pokemon that wants to be my Pokemon so while officially he will be my second he is by all other accounts my first."

The professor nods "Well you are a special boy."

He then looks over to a Rotom Pokedex and a PokeBall which had a Pikachu in it that only Ash seams to be able to tame. Ash sees the strange device and watches as the professor sighs. "Alright I will stretch the law considerably but they don't say I have to give you your first Pokemon and Pokedex with you license."

A look of excitement rapidly spreads across his face as the good professor picks up the PokeBall that he knows Pikachu is in and what he assumes is a Pokedex from what he said.

When the professor is Infront of Ash he stops and says "This is a very special Pokedex it is considered rare even where it originates from. It is a Rotom Pokedex. Take care of it like any other Pokemon. This Pikachu is special as well, as you have come to know it doesn't trust easily. Take them along with a nother PokeBall and consider this my way of saying that you can indeed accomplish your dreams."

Ash had water buildup in his eyes. Everyone he told his dream to laughed in his face and says it can't be done so having the professor the one who took him as his current apprentice till he takes his journey say that he believes in him and that he will succeed in his dream means more then he could express.

Okay he will show Oak. "Professor thank you. When I capture her you won't have an entry in the Pokedex so I want you to keep her a secret when I show you."

He seems surprised "You discovered a new species of Pokemon. Truly. She must be rare if she has been undiscovered here in Kanto one of the most explored regions."

Ash frowns and in a serious voice that shows clear hate "She is more then rare she is unique. There is only her. She is an experiment of a group of ancient people that captured the three legendary birds and made her. She has been trapped in a cave for over five hundred years maybe more she lost count."

While Oak is worried about how much hate there was in the young boys voice when referring to this Pokemon he remembered a story from one of his professors about an ancient experiment that was thought to be a myth among myths. He even remembers the name "Aqua-Feuersturm"

Ash was beyond surprised "You know of her how. She has been stuck in a cave almost her hole life"

He chuckles "There is an ancient story one of my professors told me when I went to university. He studied myths that are rare even when compared to myths. One was about the Pokemon that could destroy the world and..." after a pause he continues "the indestructible mountain. It told of how even the legendary birds had trouble with another that while not exactly skilled was powerful and was a monster if destruction that cares not for life and will kill everything eventually and how the mountain was made to stop that."

This causes Ash to become angry and a dark blue energy forms around him. "She is nothing like that she is fun loving and cheerful and has done nothing wrong to be locked away for so long"

Professor Oak puts his hand in the air. "I'm not saying she is. I'm just telling you what the legend is about. It seems she isn't the only legend that is true either."

This causes Ash to calm down from what the legend says about his good friend. "What do you mean by that"

Oak smiles "Well you had what I can guess is aura form around you when you were defending Aqua-Feuersturm."

Ash rubs the back of his head embarrassed that he got that angry. "Yah she is teaching me the basics that she learned from a Lucario years ago. Even if she herself can't use it."

He nods "Well I believe you have a Pokemon to catch. As well as a Pikachu to break the news to"

Ash looked in his hand to see the Pokedex and the PokeBall he didn't even realize that they were in his hand. Then the Rotom Pokedex spoke "Finally noticed me kiddo."

Ash smiles "Nice to meet you. Do you mind if I call you Ro."

The Roto hovers over to Pikachu then looks at Ash. "I would not like a PokeBall."

Ash tilts his head. "Your registered to me so why would you need one doesn't the PokeBall just register the Pokemon to the person so others can't catch it."

The Pokedex looks at Ash for a solid second before saying "Huh I guess it does. Having looked through the internet I can confirm that modern PokeBall's do serve this purpose. It was in a recent scholarly journal of last year stating that the feature was in the ancient version but wasn't automatically updated to the person who receives the PokeBall."

Ash holds up his hand saving pore Pikachu from the talk not really understanding fully the implications that it changes on acquisition of the empty ball but not a captured Pokemon. "Thanks Ro but I know the article I read it a while back."

It comes up to Ash "Are you sure. It's a very interesting topic."

Ash smiles. "Yes. It is an interesting topic but for now let's go get the other member of are team."

This causes the Roto Dex to freak out and zoom around Ash a few times while quickly saying "Oh yes. The mysterious Aqua-Feuersturm. An ancient legend that is said to be one of the strongest Pokemon ever. Oh this ancient being must have a wealth of knowledge. The list of moves it must know must be long."

Ash sweat drops at this. He is glad that Ro is exited to meet Aqua but at the same time he wondering if he should tell him now. In the end he decides against it.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THATS ALL YOU KNOW" Ro hollered at the large bird Pokemon.

Ash let's out a chuckle that he was suppressing causing Ro to zoom right to his face. "You ZZZ KNEW zz"

This reaction breaks the back if you will for ash as he burst outs laughing with Pikachu on his shoulder shaking his head saying "You made me listen to a half hour of his excitement for fun."

Ash turns his head to his trusty Pikachu as Ro sulks in the corner the dark red Pokedex was sulking next to a rock about all the lost knowledge. "Would you rather him sulk for a half hour or an hour."

Pikachu just nods "Fair."

Ash then looks at Aqua-Feuersturm "Ok Aqua" The bird turns from the Magikarp it was eating that his friend that I still have not met yet who is ALSO A MAGIKARP caught for him. "So since you have lots of power and I have been training Pikachu hear in control. You will train him in power and he will train you in control sounds good to you"

She nods and Pikachu hops off of my shoulder excited to get stronger. Though then they both look at me. Aqua asks in a tone that showed she was curious but thought she knew the answer "What about you, Aura I presume."

Ash doesn't give an answer at first as he looks in the direction of... something he isn't sure. "No.. maybe.. I don't really know. I have gotten decent at aura sensing but this is stronger. It's almost a call I got it since half way to the cave today"

The Pokemon look at each other before Pikachu says "Okay but what is this aura thing"

Ash chuckles "Aqua can give you a rundown"

Pikachu nods "If you say so."

Ash smiles at them glad that they trust him. He himself doesn't even know what it is. All he feels is a pull. Like the world itself is telling him he has to go to whatever this is.

Ash walks for a solid half an hour each step he takes makes the feeling grow stronger. Eventually when it feels the strongest he finds an egg.

He picks it up and feels the connection but he also feels a strong desire to be strong. Ash smiles "So you want to be the best as well"

He feels a pulse as if it responded to the question. He smiles.
