The strawberry fields
Percy pov:
I yawned as I got out of bed, noticing in the corner the light shining through the drapes and the gentle breeze camp half-blood always seems to have, as I stood there remembering yesterday while getting a sniff of the scent of the strawberry fields where Annabeth and I had had a picnic,
(flashback)
I began to picture the way she was smiling at me, and the warm look in her eyes almost as if just being out with me under the sun and laughing about what we were going to do at college, she asked "seaweed brain did you get your application response back yet." I was afraid to tell her that I hadn't finished it yet because she looked so excited, sadly she caught on quite quickly and noticed I was no longer smiling. "Percy, you did get it filled out right," "I'm sorry wise girl I got busy with sword fighting practice in the arena and Thalia asked for my help with trying to fly like Jason." I could see her eyes light up at the name almost as if it had a ticket to Rome hanging at the end. "PERCY You WERE SUPPOSED TO FINISH THAT BEFORE MIDNIGHT OR YOU WON'T GET IN," Annabeth had been really on my case lately despite how much I had to help out with around camp, "wise girl I'm sorry I meant to get it done last night," her expression softened and she had apologized for yelling as it was really hard for her to complete other assignments with her ADHD and she could understand how hard I had been trying, "Percy I look we need to talk, you haven't been able to really stick with me recently and I think since New Rome you've changed, I don't think this is working anymore, and I'm really sorry but I'm going to try dating Jason instead," my face broke with shock as she said that "please don't just walk away Annabeth we can figure this out, I… I love you." I saw the guilt in her face "wait this isn't a new thing is it how long have you been seeing him behind my back" she seemed to pull herself together and said "I can't be with someone who can't even pay attention to school and Jason he gets me, he understands my obsessions and we honestly don't have much in common Percy with the exception of camp we have almost nothing in common anymore." I stood up and walked away with a glum look on my face, she had called after me but thankfully didn't follow me. I couldn't believe this she had been with him and I was just left in the dust now, I know we had been torn apart but I couldn't believe she was going to be like this about all the effort I had put in, no that we had put in. I sighed pushing the memiores out Athena had always said my fatal flaw was loyalty but unfortunately I guess that wasn't true for Her either. It hurt to even think off her and I decided it was going to be much healthier to go back to bed instead of going to breakfast. I could only lay there replaying every moment we had together and wondering how long had she been with him, loved him and how long had she wanted to tell me this, I could understand the physical aspect we had never gone farther than maybe some oral but she still picked him over me. Had the slept together I wondered no she wouldn't do that to me right then it occurred to me, they might have been together since I had been missing, I wish I had known that, I turned down Reyna because I loved Annabeth and she had still chosen him, maybe if I had known this was in the future I would have stopped Thalia from joining the hunters, I can still see her from the last time she had been to camp, thankfully the hunters were coming back to camp for a few weeks in a couple days but I slowly fell to rest as I thought about what could have been.
I haven't really written fanfiction before, so I hope it's not to bad but if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions for the story or any other story suggestions, please let me know.
