Part 1 - Broom, Rat and Reactions

Hermione bit her lip, then without a word or anyone asking where she went after she saw the broom that Harry just gotten in his mail, she went to McGonagell's office, and knocked on the door, and inside was also Albus, Snape and aswell the other two Head's of houses, so she said after the door was opened up;

"Oh I am sorry, Professors, I can come later if you are in a meeting."

"No come on in, Ms Granger." Hermione nodded, then she said

"Uhm you all could stay, for I have things to tell you that is best for you all to know and hear from me."

Albus gave a look to the others, then said

"What is this about, Ms Granger?" Hermione sighed, then proceeding to tell them everything of her suspisions were about, and Snape was trying his best not to react too much at this moment, she only gave him a small look, but said nothing, while Albus said

"This is very troubling, Ms Granger, but we believe you, dear. Now your cat is a Half-Kneasle isn't he?"

"Yes, that is why I got so stupidified of his behaviour around Ronald's rat, as it is normal for a cat to hunt for rats, but his obsession to get him I dont know of, until I read upon the Kneasles, and that was when I started to realise that his kind or what he is half of, is reacting to what that rat may be a Animagus in hiding, and I dont know who would hide like that and for what reasons."

Many of them nodded, as Albus said

"I do know this too as I read upon the Kneasles, when I realised your cat is abit bigger than normal cat is, and so I believe you. And I believe that Minerva and Severus is to go with you, to confiscate the broom of Mr Potter as we don't know who sent it for him, and the rat is Severus' responsiblity to deal with, as his experiance is of what Animagus are like Minerva is one."

Hermione nodded, as she was then excused and she left for getting to the kitchen, as she wanted to hide away for now, while the teachers dealt with the broom and rat, and while she was in there, she also spoke with the elves there.

************Meanwhile in Gryffindor's Common Room************

Harry was basking in what the others was doing around him for getting the newest broomstick, and Ronald was also in it, and trying to give his rat, Scabbers his rat-tonic to get better again. While standing around, the surs was damped down, by McGonagell and Snape showing up, and Minerva said

"So I hear you have gotten a broom today in the mail, do you know who might gifted you?"

"Uhm no whats wrong with me getting a broom?"

"Since it is well known about Sirius Black escaping Azkaban, I have to do this, and that is to consficate your broom, as we dont know who sent it nor if it has any lethal charms."

Ron now yelled;

"YOU CAN'T DO THAT."

"You will find that I can, Mr Weasley, and while I am here anyways, Severus take that rat of his, as even I can feel something is weird about that rat."

Ronald gripped his rat tighter, but he was no match to Snape, who took a hold of his neck, and took him into a cage that was charm to make him stay put and dampen whatever magic the rat had, and the two soon left with the broom and rat in their hands.

Ron and Harry was furious now, and were wondering who had told on them both, and looked around, but too many were not there to say who had done it, but they did see that Hermione was not there either, and frowned but said nothing either.

Before too long, Hermione came back and she had some drinks and snacks with her, and sat down by the fireplace area, to do her homework and her cat came to her side, and stroke his head onto her side, which made her smile and stroke his head, as she said

"Hi Crooks, here this is also for you, as the elves in the kitchen were kind to think of you too."

And she gave him some rats and cat-snacks, and he looked rather pleased to get that, and Harry and Ron stood in their spot gapping, before both rushed over and said

"Hermione where were you, and did you hear what happened?"

Hermione shook her head, as she was busy with her homework for Aritchmancy, and said

"No I did not hear, as I was off to the kitchen to get some snacks and drink while doing my homework for now. So what happened?"

"Well the old woman of our house and Snape was here, they took Scabbers and Harry's new broom with them."

Hermione rolled her eyes down at her papers, and said

"Well you didnt know who got you that broom, so if they took it, they are to check it over for any spells or charms, since it could have been Black sending it, who knows really. And it is not that important either really. And they took your rat, maybe for they have seen him ill or whatever."

Making the two boys frowned at her plain dismissal of things, but they didnt know yet she had tattled on the two things, that they would find out later on why.

*******Up in Albus' Office*******

All of the teachers that had been with Albus and Minerva in Minerva's office, was there and the two who had been sent off to get the broom and the rat came in, and Minerva had an angry frown, and it was Pomona who said

"Whats wrong, Minerva?"

Severus said

"This rat is defiantly an Animagus, but we dont know who it is until I undo him from hiding away, Albus, Minerva is frowning for what those two called her and myself to our faces."

"What did they say?"

And Severus told them, and most of them were shocked of this, and Albus shook his head, and he then floo-called over the Minister and Amelia, the head of Auror Office, aswell Scrimagour, and when Minister Fudge saw who was in here, at first he frowned but he then said

"Whats going on here, Albus?" And they told him and the other two with him what had taken place, and when they heard it all, Amelia gave a look to Severus to proceed with the charm to undo whatever or whoever it was to hide away like a rat.

And when they saw who it was, it was Severus who said

"Peter Pettigrew, well looks like that he is not dead afterall then."

Making many of them gasped, and Scrimagour then gave the man Peter Pettigrew before he was charm to wake up, that was Verita Serum.

And after hearing it all from this man's mouth, about being the real traitor and he framed Sirius for his own crime, he was then handcuffed in magical supression cuffs, and taken away to a cell in the Ministry for awaiting a trial, and with that Fudge cancelled the kiss on sight order for the Demonters and that Sirius Black had to come in and give his own statement when trial for Peter was being done.

After that they left too, and Minerva and Albus together stripped the broom, and found no harmful spells or charms on it, but found out to be Sirius who had bought and sent it for Harry afterall. So all they could do was to let the boy have it back later that week. As it was a punishment for him not to have the broom for the week out for now.

Severus left then after that to his room, where his son was waiting on him as the two had recently re-connected and gotten close as father and son, after Severus learned that he was his son, and his mother, Isabella had died at birth, and it was her father who had taken care of said boy and told him a year ago or so who his father was. And where to find him too. So he did, and now a year later, they were still trying to get to know each other throughly.

The others went back to their normal duties, and soon it was dinner time and the time to reveal what had happened during these hours.
