Chapter Two
After five minutes, Donatello and Sephie left the classroom and went into the Mess Hall where they saw Tyroth, the other Knights, Old George, Splinter, and the rest of the Hamato Clan waiting for them.
Donatello had to slow down as he entered the hall, even though he had seen it before when he and his family arrived when it had been decorated, he couldn't help but admire it again.
Four tall Christmas trees stood in the four corners, the beams above were covered with decorated wreaths, and sparkling fairy lights lit them up along with sparking decorations and baubles.
If he had to be honest, he believed Mutopia made the New York lair back home look mediocre.
It was like a proper Winter Wonderland.
"Hey guys!" Donatello called over as he entered, "Sorry, had to clear the classroom and assign the kids their homework, but I'm here now!"
"No worries, Donnie!" Tyroth chuckled, then gestured with his paw, "Have a seat!"
Donatello instantly took his seat next to Michelangelo and Kate whilst Sephie sat between Monalisa and Amber.
"So, what's the big excitement?" he asked to which the orange masked turtle shrugged.
Tyroth looked at everyone and after making sure everyone was accounted for, he began to speak.
"Okay guys." He said, "As we all know, Christmas is in a week, and I'm sure we're all excited!"
"Oh, you bet we are!" Percy quipped only to be elbowed by Jack which made Kate snigger.
Old George coughed at the mutants causing them to sit up straight and Tyroth continued to talk.
"Which means, we not only have the big dinners planned, as well as the present opening, but we have to think about the entertainment!"
The Knights and Hamato Clan looked interested.
"What were you thinking of for this year Big T?" Leonardo asked.
Tyroth looked at the blue masked turtle with a twinkle in his red eye.
"Well, I was thinking, that maybe this year, we could put on a Talent Showcase!" he said.
"Really!?" everyone asked at the same time, and Splinter and George looked thoughtful.
"Sweet!" Michelangelo squeaked.
"I like this idea!" Jack agreed.
"Yeah!" Sarah said, "We've all got talents we can entertain everyone with!"
Tyroth felt a smile creep on his lips as he looked at everyone as they agreed with his idea.
"We've done a lot in the past years!" Jack spoke up "All have been amazing, but we've never done anything like this? At least, not that I can remember."
"I remember the first Pantomime we did!" Donatello grinned "Although Mikey and I were the butt of the joke!"
Michelangelo looked at his brother and he went pale.
Several Christmases ago before Pandora was born, and the year before Amber joined Mutopia, he and his family had put on their version of 'Cinderella' and he and Donatello had gotten the short draw to be the Ugly Sisters.
They hadn't been too happy about it, but after rehearsing and finally putting on the show on that Christmas Eve in Mutopia with the help of Cam, Barry and Tania, they did enjoy themselves, yet everyone did tease them about it and ask if they would be playing dames again anytime soon.
Amber laughed.
"I wish I had been there!" she giggled making Michelangelo blush with embarrassment, but he soon felt Kate's lips on his cheek, and he smiled at her.
"I thought you were amazing cutie!" she winked.
Tyroth cleared his throat again and everyone paid attention.
'So have I got everyone's approval?" he asked.
"You betcha!" Sharky said.
"Totally!" Heather and Amber said.
"Ditto!" Jake grinned.
"Brilliant!" Tyroth said "Well I'll make an announcement at suppertime, anyone who wishes to can join in the show, and we'll have a fantastic night!"
"When shall we do it through Big T?" Raphael asked.
Tyroth thought for a second.
"I think the best night would be the 23rd of December, like a pre-excitement before the days of celebration!" he answered.
The others murmured then nodded.
"Sounds like a good idea!" Leonardo said, "How about you guys?" he asked his brothers and Monalisa.
"No disagreements from me!" Monalisa spoke up.
"Likewise!" agreed Donatello, and Raphael and Michelangelo nodded.
Tyroth then turned to the Knights.
"And you lot?" he asked.
"Aye!" everyone said in unison.
"Then it's settled!" Tyroth said "I'll make an announcement to everyone over supper, so they can decide whether they want to join in with an act or help behind the scenes."
"I believe this is a wonderful idea Tyroth." Splinter said with a smile.
"Indeed, it is!" Old George added "I am very interested to see what acts will be performed for us!"
"You and me both my friend." Splinter replied.
"Well, we better get deciding then!" Amber said excitedly "If we only got a week to practice!"
"For sure!" Jake agreed "Though I think I might have something already."
"Oh?"
Everyone looked at the human man who adjusted his glasses and smirked knowingly.
"That's for me to know and you to find out!" he replied clicking his tongue.
Tyroth laughed whilst some of the others looked slightly disappointed.
Monalisa meanwhile looked thoughtful and some of the Knights noticed and wondered whether to ask her if she had any idea of what Jake would do, with her being his older sister and knew him deeper than any of them.
"Alright then." Tyroth said "If you lot wish to go and decide what to do, I'll help Louie prepare dinner and decide on my speech!"
The others agreed and they rose from their seats and darted off in different directions to decide on what acts to do.
Sephie and Monalisa decided to walk to their rooms to change their clothes for supper whilst the others went off to do other activities.
Raphael said he was going to the dojo and Leonardo said he would join him.
Michelangelo and Kate went off together to talk by the canal and Donatello followed Jack, Percy and Sharky into the rec room saying he'd play a video game with them which they happily accepted.
Sarah, Heather, Jake, and Amber decided to play on the pool table challenging each other to a tournament.
As Sephie and Monalisa walked to the residential quarters they spoke about what they could do at the Talent Show.
"I got a few ideas." Monalisa said "Though I might ask Raphael what he wants to do, what about you Gecko Gal?"
"Me?" Sephie asked "Well I'm not entirely sure what my talent would be."
"Well, I know one!" Monalisa winked and crossed her arms looking at the gecko.
"What?" Sephie asked confused.
Monalisa laughed.
"Your archery of course!" she exclaimed "You're a wizard with that bow of yours! You can shoot many targets with your eyes closed!"
Sephie hiccupped then she clapped her hands.
"Of course!" she cried "What a dipstick I am!" then laughed as she gestured a thumb to herself.
"And with the skills you have!" Monalisa added "You'd put on a great show! In fact, I do recall you showed me a truly amazing skill the first time we met?"
Sephie looked at the Lizard Lady and her eyes lit up as she remembered.
"Oh, my gods yes!" she exclaimed.
Those years back when she and Tyroth first met the Turtles and Monalisa in New York, they had spent time together in the lair learning each other's skills, and both lizards had shown their skills in archery.
Monalisa had shown good skill being a sniper when needed, but Sephie had shown she was the queen of the targets when she showed how she could hit all the bullseyes without hesitation, and she had even showed how she could fire arrows with her feet and tail.
"I think you'd reminded me of what I could do in the show!" Sephie grinned "Thanks little sis!" she grabbed Monalisa in a close hug and the lizard lady laughed and hugged her back.
"Anytime!" she smiled.
The lizards then carried on walking through the residential quarters, as they did, they heard a sound coming from one of the rooms.
Both girls stopped in their tracks and stood still listening.
It sounded like a woman singing, and a rather beautiful sound it was.
"And then a hero comes along…with the strength to carry on….and you cast your fears aside, and you know you can survive…"
Monalisa beckoned Sephie to her and both lizards began to step quietly towards the sound which came from one of the bedrooms.
"Lord Knows…. Dreams are heard to follow… but don't let anyone tear them away…. Hold on… there will be tomorrow, in time, you'll find your way!"
The lizards soon made it to the bedroom where they heard the singing and they both peeped around the door to see a female butterfly looking in her mirror and singing to herself.
Sephie's eyes widened.
"Oh wow…. Chloe?"
Monalisa also gasped.
"Is that really her singing?" Monalisa asked.
Sephie only nodded in agreement as she listened.
"So when you feel like hope is gone." The butterfly sang softly "Look inside you and be strong, and you'll finally see the truth, that a hero lies in you!"
She soon finished the song and stepped away from the mirror, yet as she did, she saw Monalisa and Sephie's reflection in it and she jumped back in fright.
"What the hell!?" she screamed and both Sephie and Monalisa yelled in shock before tripping over each other and falling over in the hallway.
The Butterfly strode over to the door and looked at the sheepish looking lizard ladies on the floor.
"What do you think you were doing?" she demanded "Can't a girl have a little privacy?"
"Sorry Chloe!" Sephie cried holding up her hands.
"We didn't mean to snoop." Monalisa added "We were just walking to our quarters, and we heard you singing and thought it was beautiful!"
"My singing?" Chloe asked her eyes widening.
Both lizard girls nodded.
Chloe stood still for a moment then she turned and ran back into her room.
'Hey wait!" Sephie and Monalisa cried, untangling each other then started to follow the butterfly.
So, Tyroth has decided on a Talent Showcase for Christmas! I wonder what acts everyone will think up? Well that's for me to know and you to find out! But I'm always open to suggestions!
Btw, did anyone guess the lyrics to what song Chloe was singing? I'd be surprised if you didn't!
