Chapter 2
The next morning, Blitzo drove in his I.M.P. van along with Riva in the passenger seat and Curly and Loona in the back seat to pick up Moxxie and Millie. Next, he picked up his twin sister, Barbie Wire, who squealed eagerly at the sight of her nephew, niece, and sister-in-law.
"Hey, guys," Barbie Wire said as she waved.
Curly opened the van door to let his aunt in and winked at her as he did.
"Thanks, Curly." Barbie Wire went to find a seat as she stepped into the van and closed the door behind her.
"You're welcome, Aunt Barbie," Curly replied.
Loona got her eyes off her phone and set it on her lap and looked to see her adoptive aunt beside her adoptive little brother. "Hey, Aunt Barbie."
"Hi, Loona."
Riva looked in the backseat to see her sister-in-law with her children. "How have you been, Barbie Wire?"
"I'm doing just fine, Riva. Thanks for asking."
"Glad to hear it, Sis," Blitzo remarked. "Now, off to Striker's to get Striker and the family." He started his van once again and he and his family made their way to Wrath to pick up Striker, his wives, and children.
…
Blitzo parked in front of Striker's home. Striker and his wives and children picked up their packed bags and headed for Blitzo's van.
Blitzo wound his window down to greet Striker and his family. "Happy Thanksgiving, Strikes and family!" Blitzo said, popping his head out of his window.
"Same to you, Blitz and family," Striker replied, "And to you, as well, Moxxie, Millie, and family."
Blitzo popped open the trunk, so Striker and his family could put their bags in. When finished, Kaitlin closed the trunk.
"Look behind you and my van," Blitzo told them.
"What is it?" asked Kaitlin.
"It's a trailer for Bombproof."
And just like that, a large black hellhorse came running towards it. He took a good sniff of it, fascinated by its wonders.
"I think he likes it," Seth said.
"I agree," said Jake.
Maria and Adeline giggled at Bombproof sniffing the trailer like a dog.
"Okay, let's get you in, boy," Striker told his horse as he opened the trailer door and Bombproof walked inside.
"It looks pretty spacious," said Jane as she looked in the interior of the trailer with Bombproof lying down, enjoying the amount of space it had. Underneath him was a large dark blue blanket keeping him warm in case the floor of the trailer was cold.
"We'll be leaving soon, boy," Kore said, as she closed the door.
"Enjoy your stay," Serenity told Bombproof as she and her family left and went in the backseat with Moxxie, Millie, Curly, Mandy, Loona, Barbie Wire, and Carrie.
Maria closed the van door behind her.
"Good work, baby girl," Striker said, patting her head.
"Everyone, ready?" Riva asked, looking behind her.
"Ready!" everyone in the backseat answered.
"I can't hear you!"
"READY!" everyone shouted louder, so she and her husband could hear better.
Riva turned back around. "Alright, off to Lin and Joe's."
Blitzo started his engine and they were finally off to Lin's and Joe's.
…
Bombproof was having the time of his life in the horse trailer. He stuck out his head out the window and stuck his tongue out with a drool coming out like a dog.
Striker turned to Jake and asked, "Hey, kiddo, do you want to spit out the window?"
"Sure, Dad," Jake replied and the two of them wound their window down, hacked, and spat out the window.
Moxxie, with his head out the window, was enjoying the view. However, this was cut short when...SPLAT!
Saliva from the wind hit him in the face. "Ew, FUCK!" he shouted and wiped the spit off his face.
"Guys, watch where you're spitting!" Jane scolded.
Jake crossed his arms with a pout. Then he and his father sighed, knowing their mother/wife was right when scolded like implings.
"You okay, sweetie?" Millie asked, offering a napkin so her husband could wipe the spit off his face.
Moxxie took the napkin and started wiping it. "Better now. Thanks for asking."
"I'm so glad you're okay, Mox," Jane said, "My son and husband can be jerks."
Striker turned to Moxxie. "Sorry, Mox for all the trouble Jake and I caused."
"Apology accepted."
"How about we sing a song?" Adeline suggested.
"Great idea, Adeline," Maria agreed.
"Let's do it!" seconded Mandy and Carrie. Then the girls and the boys, Seth, Jake, and Curly started to sing.
Over the river and through the woods,
To grandmother's house we go;
The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh,
Through (the) white and drifted snow!
Blitzo looked in his mirror to see the children singing.
Over the river and through the woods,
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes and bites the nose,
As over the ground we go.
"I love this song!" Millie beamed as she clapped her hands.
"Me, too!" Barbie Wire shouted gleefully.
"I remember this song from school," said Kaitlin.
"Mom, would you like to join us?" Adeline asked.
"Sure." Then, Kaitlin, Striker, Barbie Wire, Moxxie, Millie, Blitzo, and Riva started to sing along with the children.
Over the river and through the woods,
And straight through the barnyard gate.
We seem to go extremely slow
It is so hard to wait!
They stopped for a minute to see Loona on her phone as usual.
"Loona, why don't you join us?" Curly asked.
"Nah, I'm good," Loona replied.
"Come on, Loonie, it's Thanksgiving," Blitzo said.
Sighing, Loona put her phone on her lap. "Okay."
Then this time, she sang along with them.
Over the river and through the woods,
Now Grandmother's cap I spy!
Hurrah for the fun! Is the pudding done?
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!
"Yeehaw!" Millie shouted excitedly, knowing Loona was joining them.
"Great job, Loona!" Blitzo praised.
"Alright!" Millie beamed as she applauded. Then she saw her parents waving from inside the windows. "We're here!"
Lin and Joe came out of their house to greet their daughter, granddaughters, son-in-law, and friends of theirs.
"Mildred!" Lin greeted warmly.
"Mama! Daddy!" Millie cried.
"Grandma! Grandpa!" Mandy and Carrie shouted.
"Yeehaw!" Joe greeted with open arms as Millie, Mandy, and Carrie ran into his arms, pulling them in for a tight hug. "How are my deadly little pumpkin spices doing?"
"We're good, Pa."
"Yeah, and here's Daddy," Mandy said, gesturing towards her father, who stepped out of the van, waving shyly at his parents-in-laws.
"Hi, Lin…Joe…Glad to be here," Moxxie said, putting his hand on the back of his head nervously.
"Hey, Moxxie," Joe greeted as he reached out his hand, ready for a handshake.
Moxxie hesitated at first, knowing if he shook hands with Joe, it could result in breaking his hand.
"Y-you won't break my hand?"
"No, I promise."
Moxxie slowly put his hand in Joe's and accepted, but as he shook his father-in-law's hand, he had to contain a wince as Joe's much stronger grip almost broke his hand.
"Oww!" Moxxie yelped in pain and rubbed his hand.
"Sorry."
"You alright, little fella?" a voice behind him asked.
"Uh, yeah, I'm fine."
"Don't sweat it, Mox," Striker assured him, "He's just excited to see ya, but your hand will heal quickly."
"Hey, big sis, what's up?" asked a female voice.
Millie turned to see who it was. "Sallie Mae!" she beamed.
"How is your family?"
"Pretty good."
"Aunt Sallie Mae!" shouted Mandy and Carrie as they ran over to hug their aunt, who was touched by their embrace.
A young boy imp, who looked at Moxxie with concern as he rubbed his hurt hand, opened his arms and walked over to hug him.
Moxxie did the same in return.
"Good to see you, Moxxie," the young boy said.
"Good to see you, too."
"Hey, Moxxie," said Sallie Mae.
Moxxie turned to see his sister-in-law. "Hey, Sallie. What's up?"
"He likes you, doesn't he?"
"He sure does. He's a sweetie."
"Yeah, what a cutie." She went to rub her little brother's head. "Right, little bro?"
Her little brother smiled, touched by her affection.
"Blitz," a sing-song voice said from behind Blitzo, who turned around to see a purple aura. "Via and I are here."
"Oh, Stolas, glad you and Via can make it."
"Octavia!" a familiar shouted, running over to his girlfriend.
Octavia turned around hearing her boyfriend's voice. "Curly!" She, too, started running over to him and as they did, they started hugging.
Lin and Joe looked at the Goetia with surprise.
"Oh, I host the annual Harvest Moon Festival every year," Stolas chuckled nervously.
Joe and Lin looked at each other with surprise. Could this be the same Goetia who hosted the Harvest Moon Festival?
"It's true, guys," Blitzo told them. "My family and employees were there."
Lin and Joe glanced at each other once more and to Blitzo and the others, they nodded with acknowledgement.
"Now, who's hungry for Thanksgiving dinner?" asked Joe, changing the subject.
"Me!" Carrie, Mandy, Jake, Adeline, Seth, and Maria shouted eagerly.
"I'm starving," Curly said.
…
In Lin's and Joe's kitchen, everyone had a good dinner consisting of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, bread with butter sandwiched between it or on top, corn, and cranberry sauce. The turkey was fresh and juicy on the meat, with a few layers of crunchiness on the skin just how everyone liked it. Whenever they had leftover turkey and microwaved it, it was always dry, unless they poured gravy on top of it. For the rest of the Thanksgiving dinner, though, whenever they microwaved it as leftovers, it was just right.
"Sorry about your hand, Moxxie," Joe apologized.
"Ah, don't worry about it," Moxxie said with a smile, brushing off the incident, "One of your younger sons gave me a hug."
"He's a sweetheart, isn't he?" said Lin and to her youngest son, she added, ruffling his hair, "Aren't ya, honey?"
Moxxie turned to his sister-in-law. "And thank you, Sallie Mae, I appreciate it."
"Anything for my brother-in-law." Sallie Mae winked at him.
"Hey, Striker, how's your family?" Joe asked.
"Oh, just great, Joe," Striker replied.
"Thanks for the cranberry sauce, Mrs. Lin and Mr. Joe," Adeline said gratefully.
"It's no trouble, hon," said Lin.
"She loves cranberry sauce," said Kaitlin, "And I do, too."
After a while, they finished most of their meal because any turkey they didn't eat went to Bombproof, who had a knack for meat.
Lin and Joe always let him in the house, especially on cold winter days and nights. Thus, he was inside the kitchen, eagerly waiting for fresh turkey.
So everyone scraped their plates of the remaining turkey on a clean plate for the hellhorse, so he could eat the delicious, juicy meat.
Bombproof took a quick sniff and started to lap it up like a hungry dog.
Once everyone finished their meals, they made their way to either couches or beds. Striker started to lie down on a long sofa in the living room, groaning slightly as he did, full from his dinner.
As he reclined, Blitzo walked over to him to touch Striker's full belly when… SLAP!
The cowboy imp slapped the imp boss's hand away. "Don't touch me! I'm stuffed and I need a nap!" Striker snapped.
Just then, a blanket flew on top of Striker and he was being tucked in and looked up to see who tucked him in.
It was Lin. "Here you go, Striker," she said warmly as she neatly tucked in the exhausted imp.
"Thanks, Lin." Striker turned to his side and yawned. Then he closed his eyes and started to doze off.
…
After their nap, they stretched and rubbed their eyes. Since they were no longer full, they decided to help themselves to pumpkin pie that was in the fridge.
Lin and Joe brought out the whipped cream and pumpkin pie from the fridge and started to cut the pie into slices.
Soon everyone gathered around the kitchen to each grab a slice on their plates as they topped up their pumpkin pie slices with whipped cream.
The whipped cream was absolutely the perfect way to top off the pumpkin pie. The pumpkin flavor was just as good for a Thanksgiving dessert along with the crust.
"Aren't you glad you came, sweetie?" Millie asked Moxxie.
"That I am, honey," Moxxie answered.
"Happy Thanksgiving, Daddy!" Carrie and Mandy said as they hugged him. Even Millie's little brother and Sallie Mae joined in the hug.
"Thanks, guys."
"We're glad you came, too, Moxxie," Millie's little brother said.
"Same," Sallie Mae agreed.
And thanks to his little brother-in-law, his wife, Millie, his sister-in-law, Sallie Mae, his daughters, Carrie White (adopted daughter) and Mandy, Blitzo and his family, Riva, Curly, Loona, and Barbie Wire, Stolas, Octavia, and especially Striker and his family, he had one helluva happy Thanksgiving.
"Happy Thanksgiving!" everyone shouted as they clinked their drinks of milk together as if forming a toast to a holiday for many years to come.
THE END
