Chapter 1: The Movie Night Party
One cold third Saturday of November 2022, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri along with some of my other best friends, Carly Shay and Spencer Puckett as well as Carly's stepdad, Mr. Benson, at client Samantha Mifflin's apartment in Point Breeze. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my best friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. The day started off with Samantha and her guests making a movie in parts of the Allegheny Valley about the holidays and sharing. We jammed out to Kate Bush and NSYNC as we filmed the movie. Then, it was back to their apartment for a plethora of holiday movies including Elf, A Christmas Story, Home Alone, and The Santa Clause. Pizza, popcorn, candy, and cupcakes were the treats featured. There was also movie trivia to go along with all 4 of the movies. "I can't wait until it's my birthday, Mr. Benson," Henri stated. "All of that food is making me hungry, especially the cupcakes!" Henri licked his lips. "Our birthdays are not until March, Henri," Mr. Benson pointed out. "Basically when all of these filler activities in various locations would end." "Do girls think that I am too funny and childish to like these kinds of movies, Spencer?" James asked. "Of course not, James," Spencer replied. "I am an adult and I still love these types of movies." "That was probably one reason that Phillis and I broke up my freshman year of high school," James explained. "She thought that I was rather childish for my age." "What was your favorite movie of the 4, Carly?" Sarah asked. "Definitely A Christmas Story, Sarah," Carly replied. "I saw that for the first time my freshman year of high school in November." "Basically, the theme for this weekend is movies," I told my friends. "We are going to see the new Black Panther movie in theaters tomorrow with Alex, Justin, and Max!" Pretty soon, it was time for all of us to go to bed. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
