I black out... and then... I felt this pain." He rubs his chin before sighing. "What's going on? How did this happen? The last thing I remember was fighting my shadow self, but after I defeated him, everything went dark." Rean said to himself before he eye widen. "Did he swap places with me when he was defeated?! But if that's the case... he must be with everyone! I had to warm them!" Rean remarked as he walked out of the Steeple while steering clear of the Boos. Then he made it out of the Steeple and then headed into the forest.

He kept walking, with a few Crazee Dayzees saw the shadow boy walking alone but went about their day.
"Wait!" Rean paused as he stop. "I forgot, If he's with the others... he can't summon Valimar! This could prove he's the fake!" He said and then he raise his arm heigh. "Heed my call...VALIMAR THE ASHEN KNIGHT!" He yelled... but nothing happened. Even the Crazze Dayzees look at him as he's crazy. "Wha..." He widen his eyes... if he had them. "What? Valimar... didn't come? What... What's going on!?" He exclaimed as he run and make his way back to Twilight Town.
"Hey there, slick!" A voice snapped as Rean looked up to see his own body casually sitting on the roof of the shed. "Fancy meeting you here!"

"You…" Rean growled, and then watched his body jump off of the roof.
"I have to say, I really love this body." "Rean" said. "Your name is Rean Schwarzer? Not a bad name if you ask me."
"Don't flatter me right now!" Rean said as he brought out a shadow version of his Tachi. "Give me back my body!"
"Oh no, that's not gonna happen, slick." Rean could see that his body smirked at him. "Everyone says that I'm handsome, that I'm an awesome swordsman! And my body is quite well-built! Apparently, I even have an adorable sister, a family, even some amazing powers! I'm a hero to my own nation! I have an awesome and powerful knight at my command! Even a harem!"
"I'm not sure what haerm you're talking about but leave Elise and my family out of this!" Rean threatened.
"Oh, and then there was this moment where I had to check out my body in the bathroom. While I'm one handsome fellow, I also notice I saw a very peculiar scar on the chest." His body said. "It looked pretty interesting, but I had to play it cool. I casually asked your silver hair friend about the scar and he looked at me as if I lost my mind. But your Black Rabbit friend told me about it, and your "Orge" powers. You had this when you were a child. You used this power to protect your sweet and adorable sister from a monster that was going to harm her. Let me get the rest, you were consumed by rage that the power itself overtook you and slaughter you the monster like a beast. You begin to fear yourself, just as you are now." It said while Rean clenched his fist and teeth... if it were shown in the shadow. "Ohohohoho. This is amusing! So let's see, your name… your body… Your friends... your family... and your status as a hero... I will be taking all of those! Go on, say your name!"
"Don't mock me imposter! I'm the real re... Re... " Rean widen as he covered his mouth and look at his hand. "Wh...What's going on? Why can I say my name?!"
"I took your name and body, duh! That reminds me, I overheard something about Valimar from your shout. Seriously, what was that about? Eh, either way, This Valimar isn't your either. It's mine." Rean see his body smirked at him. "Now, I'm a nice guy. I'll give you your name and body, along with your scars, if you can say my name. Take a wild guess."
"Nnngh… your name… it's… agh… your name is… a freak!"
"Wrong! Who would name their kid that? Time to knock you out!" His body smirked, but Rean use his speed and run away from him. "Party pooper!" His body taunted before smirking. "Oh, I am SO going to enjoy this."

Rean arrived back in Town. "I can't believe this is happening..." He said as he look at his hand. "Did he really steal my identity from me? Damn that Duplighost!" He said as he hit the tree where the crows flew away. "No. I don't need to worry about that right now." He said and then walked into town, where the townsfolk were going about their day, celebrating that they were no longer pigs. They didn't really seem to notice Rean walking through town, and if they did notice, they shrugged it off and went about their day.
"Stupid Beldam…" A voice grumbled as Rean turned his head to see Vivian grumbling to herself.

"Huh, isn't that Vivian?" Rean wondered to himself as he walked over to her. "Um, hello!"
"Hmm?" Vivian turned her head. "Oh, a shadow. You don't see that every day." She said. "Can't talk right now, I'm busy finding a superbombomb." She said.
"A super...superbombomb?"
"That's right."
"Oh... Well, in that case, I can help you look."
"Thanks!" Vivian smiled as the two went right to work.
"Hmm... where could it be?" Rean wondered.
"Argh… why am I the one that has to do everything around here?" Vivian grumbled to herself as Rean check the grass and then found it.

"Yes! That's the one!" Vivian cheered as Reand hand it over to her as she examine it. "WHAT?! It's completely dud!" Sheyelled, throwing it into a trash can. "Forget it! I'm SO done with Beldam and Marilyn!" She said

"..." His body glared at Levi. "Tch... that one is sharp. Did I get the answer wrong? Hmph. It's not like he can do anything about it... Maybe I can pin the others against him. Hehehe." His body smirked before heading inside the Mayor's house.
Rean widen his eyes as he witness Levi notice something strange with his body. "Excuse me, be right back!" He said as he ran after Levi.
"Huh? What?" Vivian asked as she followed him.

Levi stopped nearby a house as he cross his arm. "It seems I was right. That wasn't Rean. The real Rean know its horses. But the question is who is the one I talked too?"
"Levi!" Rean's voice called out to him as he turn and see a shadow running toward him
"That voice..." Levi widens his eyes. "Rean!? Is that... is that really you?!"

"Levi, it's me!" Rean said, sounding relieved and he hug him. "Levi... thank Aidios..."
"Rean... it really is you..." Levi said as he hug back, and Vivian show up. But didn't notice. "Rean, what happened to you? How did you become... a shadow?"
"Levi... you had no idea how happy I am that you notice. But deep down... I knew that you would. But Still... I'm so happy you notice that he isn't me... Thank you, Levi... I... I really mean it." Rean said as he started to sob.
"Oh Rean..." Levi smiled as he place his forehead to Rean. "You know I'm one of your best friends. I can tell if you are you. I'm sure the others will notice too but... I'm glad to know I was right. The real you would never possess a dark presence. But even so. I'm glad to know I was right to trust my gut. So don't cry, okay... It hurts me to see you cry."
"Levi..." Rean said as he wipe his shadow tears as he chuckled. "Thank you Levi. I'm so glad you're here with me."
"Me too. I guess fate was so kind to me." Levi wink. "But... What happened to you? Why are you all... purple or shadow like?"
"That's the thing. My body and my name was stolen from me." Rean explained, which Levi look completely shocked.
"Wait, what?! Your body was STOLEN!?" Vivian yelled. "Who goes and steals your name and body like that?! That's not right!"
"Wait... aren't you Vivian?" Levi asked
"Um... this is awkward but nice to see you again?" Vivian tilted her head.
"Okay, before I get to you, what do you mean your body was stolen?" Levi asked before he clicked. "Wait... then the one I was talking too... it was that Duplighost, wasn't it!?"
"Yeah, I'm not sure how he did it. But it must have happened after we defeated him. He somehow swap me and took over my body when he was defeated." Rean explained.
"Then it's clear he's no ordinary Duplighost." Levi muttered.
"Hang on, correct me if I'm wrong, but did you also say that he's Rean? As in Rean Schwarzer?" Vivian asked.
"Yes." Rean nodded.
Vivian gasped. "Oh my gosh, I helped the enemy! Oh, I'm so stupid! Beldam's gonna kill me!" She exclaimed.
"Not if I have anything to say about it. But, why are you here?" Levi asked as Vivian explain to him and Rean. "Why that bitch..." Levi said, with a tick on his forehead. "It seem my threat wasn't enough. I guess I'll teach her a lesson when I see her again."
"I can't believe she and your other sister just left you here. It was her own fault and she still blame her sister." Rean muttered. "Hey, Vivian. Why don't you join us instead?"
"Join you? But..."
"Your sister is going to keep treating you that way. And honestly, I think it's best that you cut ties with them. They're not your family if they keep treating you like garbage. Come with us Vivian."
Vivian sighed. "You know what, you guys showed so much concern for me…" She said and clenched her fists. "You know what? To heck with them. I'm joining the winning team!" Vivian grinned.
"Great!" Levi cheered
"Alright, let's get your name and body back!" Vivian exclaimed.
"Right!" Rean nodded
"Sooo... how long are you two gonna be in each other's embrace?" Vivian asked as Rean and Levi notice they were still hugging each other.
"Oh!" Rean said as he and Levi let out of the hug and scratch their head, while blushing. If Rean can be seen blushing. "A-A-Anyway, we should find a way to learn who he really is."
"Right, but the question is how?" Vivian asked.
"Hmm... this happened after we defeated him in the Creepy Steeple. Maybe there's a clue to his name somewhere." Levi said.
"Good idea. Let's head there." Rean nodded
"Right." Levi nodded as he open a portal leading there and they walk in.
"Wow." Vivian blicked before she walks in the portal.

As they arrived. They begin to enter the Creepy Steeple and then made their way to the Duplighost's room.
"So, you two are best friends right?" Vivian asked.
"We are. We have been through a lot together. So how have you been doing Levi?" Rean asked.
"Aside from Traveling, I was doing some heavy regiment training." Levi answered.
"Heavy training regime? Why go that far?"
"Well against Mcburn."
"Ah."
"Who's Mcburn?" Vivian asked.
"He's a very dangerous guy who love to fight." Levi said as open through the door, go up the spiral stairs and then arrived in the Duplighost's room."Okay, we're here."
"Let's look around." Rean said and they begin to look around. Vivian open the fridge.
"Hmm... Sodas, juices... snacks..." Vivian amused
"I don't think there's anything here." Rean muttered.
"Maybe downstairs? I remember seeing a lock door." Levi said as they went downstairs and arrived at the main hall again. They go through the basement and land on the spring. They enter the door through the corridor and see the lock door. Levi use his magic and unlock it and found an empty room filled with chests and a parrot.
"Squack! Pretty Bird want a cracker!" The parrot called out.
"A... parrot?" Rean wondered
"Hold on, we can easily listen in on what he's really saying if we go underground." Vivian said.
"What do you-" Vivian then pulled Rean and Levi. "Whoa!" Levi exclaimed
"The heck? Where did those weirdos go? Eh, Whatever. I was hoping they keep me company. Much better than that idiot Doopless for locking me up here." The Parrot muttered, then Rean, Levi and Vivian appeared. "SQUAKE! Pretty bird! Pretty bird!"
"So that's his name." Levi smirked.
"Yeah. Let's go get that body-snatcher!" Rean nodded as Levi open a portal back to Twilight Town.

"Hey, have you guys notice Rean's acting odd lately?" Luigi asked. "He seems... cocky lately."
"Yeah, not that you mentioned it. He does seem off..." Mario rubs his chin.
"I conjured. Rean appears to be more... boastful." Altina nodded
"Yeah, I agree. Come to think of it, Daddy Levi was very suspicious of him." Alf agreed.
"Hmm... Yeah I get the feeling he's not who he is." Tartaglia cross his arm.
"Agreed. I've noticed something is fowl with him." Kazuha nodded.
"Yeah, I have to agree." Aether nodded.
"Hmm... You sure. I mean, he's a lot more confident but... isn't that a natural thing?" Paimon asked.
"No. We know Rean long enough to know he's not the type to brag." Mario said.
"You think so?" Chongyun asked
"Hmm... I don't know him that much... but he's usual... compose." Xingqiu nodded
"Hey, guys." "Rean" approached the group. "Shall we head off?"
"But what about Levi?" Paimon asked
"Yeah... actually, something been very off with him. He seems... dark. Have you guys noticed?"
"Dark? Explained?" Aether raised an eyebrow.
"Levi been acting all weird, did you know he even point that spear of his at me?"
"Why would he do that?" Altina asked
"I think he gone crazy. We should probably leave him behind. Just to be safe. After all, we don't want something crazy as him with us right? I mean he can stab us in the back at anytime."
"Oh is that a fact?" A voice asked as they turn and see Levi appearing out of the portal along with Rean and Vivian.

"Levi? What's going on? And are you with those Shadow Siren people? Also, is that a shadow with you?" Paimon asked.
"It's a long story, but that's not actually Rean!" Vivian said.
"She's right. That's an imposter! I'm the real Rean! That one stole my body and my name!" Rean nodded
"An imposter? No impossible, I'm the real Rean!"
"Oh shut up Doopliss, the jig is up." Levi said as he pointed his Glaive at him.
Rean's body's eyes widened. "What?! No… no no no no no! Who told you that?! My name's Rean Schwarzer! Not Doopliss! Ahahahaha! I'm the Ashen Chevalier! I'm the hero!"
"The real me isn't the type to brag. Nor care for being called a hero. Which I am not." Rean glared as he had eyes to do so.
"Why… WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?!"
"What's going on?" Paimon asked.
"Paimon, you really are slow." Levi sighed. "That's the Duplighost we faced back at Creepy Steeple. He stole Rean's name and his body without his knowledge. He switch places with him before Doopliss fainted in battle."
"I thought so. The real Rean would never abandon his closest friend." Kazuha glared.
"Ah... Ahhh... TIME TO FLEE!" Doopliss yelled and took off.
"Get back here!" Chongyun yelled as he and everyone went after him. They catch up to him at Twilight Trail. Until Levi cast a spell and a barrier prevent him from going further.
"All right Doopliss, it's over! You have nowhere to run!" Rean yelled
Doopliss turn to the others with a glare. " You want your body back? Fine! COME AND TAKE IT FROM ME!" He yelled, taking out his Tachi, to which Rean pulled out a shadowy version of hers.
"I will!"

(Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door ost - Doopliss)
Rean and Doopliss ran toward each other, clashing with their blades as they jumped back and launch their crafts, Crimson Slash at each other with Doopliss unaware of Vivian popping up and punching Doopliss in the back, catching him on fire.
"Yagh!" Doopliss yelped as Levi unleashed a sphere of light and rain down a beam of his power on him to cause him to yell in agony, then he turned around and went over to strike Levi, who form a defensive form and ripose his strike, pushing him back.
Mario lung himself toward Doopliss and launch several punches before grabbing his feet and Airplane swing him towards Tartaglia who change into daggers and launch several slashes, leaving behind a Blue mark on him as Luigi use Luigi tornado on him and a Super punch jumped at him, knocking him into the air, giving Chongyun a change to jump over Rean andlet out a powerful swing down, crashing Doopliss back to the ground. Kazuha then charge and Doopliss clash with him and then Kazuha let out some slashes, knocking Doopless back.
"Sloopy swordsmanship." Kazuha said as Aether charging at him next with Xingqiu and slash battle with Doopliss who go on the defensive form to push them back. Until they jump back and Altina let out a powerful bash on Doopliss head and then follow up with jab attacks and grab him and slam him over her.
"Nnngh…" Doopliss got up. "No fair again! You think you can take me down… this body isn't going back to you!" Doopliss yelled, as he attempted to use Spirit Unification... but nothing happened. "Huh? WHY ISN'T IT COMING OUT?!"
"You can take my body but you can't use my power!" Rean yelled, unleashing his S-Craft on him.
"AAAAAAAGH!" Doopliss yelled as he fell on the ground, defeat him. Changing him back to his true form and glowing sparks around Rean, returning back his body.

"All right!" Rean grinned.
"U-ugh…" Doopliss groaned as he noticed the Crystal Star had fallen out of his possession. "Ack!" He exclaimed but Vivian popped up and grabbed it.
"Nope!" Vivian said.
"Crud!" Doopliss exclaimed.
"You definitely got some guts, stealing Rean's identity from him" Levi said as Doopliss gulped and turned to see Levi his bangs darken and leaving an intimidating look. "First, causing trouble in Twilight Town, and now taking my beloved Rean's body because for fame and glory? You have no idea what Rean suffered. Now, I will make you pay... with your life."
"Double crud!"
"Prepare to die." Levi said, ready to do the killing blow.
"YIPE!" Doopliss yelled as he pull out a smoke bomb and throw it on the ground. Levi slash the smoke with a strong swing and clear the smoke, only to see Doopliss run away from the opposite direction. "I'M OUT OF HEEEEEERE!"
Tartaglia burst into laughter. "I'm starting to love this guy even more."
"Of course you would." Aether sweatdrop.
"Paimon really doesn't want to get on his bad side... it's scary as enough as it is." Paimon gulped.
"Thanks Levi. But can you tone it down on the killing thing?" Rean asked as he scratched his cheek.
"Aww, you know I can't do that~" Levi chuckled as he hug Rean and nuzzled on his cheek. "You're very important to me. I hate it if scum like him do something like that and get away with it."
Rean chuckled before petting his head. "Thanks Levi."
"So, you joined up with Rean?" Mario asked.
"Yup." Vivian nodded. "I also decided to cut ties with my sister because I couldn't handle being emotionally abused for too much longer. I was already at my breaking point when we came here."
"I'm glad to hear it. What will you do now?" Kazuha asked.
"Hang out with you, if that's alright."
Luigi grinned. "Sure! You're alright in my book!"
"Come join the winning team!" Alf exclaimed.
Vivian giggled. "It's a deal!" She said. "Oh, by the way, this is for all of you." She said, handing over the Ruby Star to the others.

And so, with Doopliss soundly defeated and nearly got killed by the enraged Levi, Rean got his name and body back while also gaining a new member, Vivian! The Twilight Village praised the Mario Bros and their allies for their valiant efforts to take down Doopliss once and for all.

"Ugh! Where is that complete scatterbrain now?!" Beldam growled as she and Marilyn notice Doopliss passing them. "Hmm... that freak-in-a-sheet could be proven useful..." She amused

A ship docked in the pier as a few people got out, several of them are humans.
"All right, this will be our stop to reload." Said the female Captain with an eyepatch as she look around. "All right everyone, you know what to do?"
"Aye captain!" Her crew said as the captain look around.
"Well isn't this a fine place. Let's see what this place is about." She said as she hop off her ship and then bein to explore Rogueport to Rogueport Square. "Well, this place has seen better days." She said as she continue walking, unaware of being followed by someone, his skin being yellow until she stopped. "All right." She said as she turn around and pulled out her weapon.
"Whoa whoa whoa! Easy easy… I come in peace!" He said.
"Who are you, and why are you following me?" She asked
"My name is Flavio, and I couldn't help but notice your ship. Where are you headed?"
"Where am I headed? That depends. Why? You need to go somewhere?"
Flavio chuckled. "Of course. There's this island located in the southern part called Keelhaul Key." He said. "So do I have the pleasure of meeting?"
"The name's Beidou. Captain of The Crux" She introduce herself.
"A pleasure captain follow me to the Inn, we have much to discuss!"
And captain Beidou will make her appearance! Set sail the seas!
