Chapter 2: The Chief.

"Y-Yes I'm fine, who are you? You aren't DEO." Kara replied.

The UNSC marine snorted. "Don't know what that is Ma'am, but we're part of Jade Squad, some of the roughest and toughest SOB's in the whole UNSC, name is Sergeant Kyle Porthos." He replied, looking over the broken vehicle before taking a few shots at the aliens who had forced her to take cover.

"UNSC? But the United Nations don't have a space force, the DEO would have been notified." Kara muttered.

Sgt Porthos turned to her, confused. "You're kidding right, where have you been the last two hundred plus years? The UNSC has been around for about that long." He replied.

"Wait.. rift in space, people with a different history to your own. Stupid Supergirl." Kara muttered to herself, finally realising what was going on.

"Okay, this may sound crazy. But you're in a different universe, here the year is 2018. And earth is not at war with anyone." She told him.

The sergeant blinked. "Eh, sounds about right." He shrugged before going back to taking shots at the aliens.

Kara frowned. "You Believe me, after only a few seconds?"

"Lady, if you had seen what I have in the last ten years... Interdimensional travel is the least weirdest thing I've had to deal with." He replied with another shrug.

"Sir! Parker and Helen are down, but the chief is on his way!" reported one of the other marines.

"The Chief!? Well dunk my biscuits in coffee and call me a breakfast snack, you hear that you Banished scum, the Master Chief is on way!" Sgt Porthos yelled at the aliens.

"Wait, the Demon is coming!?" a single grunt Exclaimed, deciding to turn around and run off, screaming.

"Oh we're so screwed!" another Grunt whimpered, falling to the floor before bursting into tears.

"Who is the Master Chief?" Kara asked, deciding to help these men by firing beams of heat from her eyes into the 'banished'.

"The hero of the universe, slayer of the prophets, destroyer of the halos, Hyper Lethal Freaking Vector Numero Uno, and the toughest person you will ever meet. He's personally saved mankind from extinction on more than one occasion and yet does he take a break? Nope, he licks his wounds, gets up, asks for ammo and keeps on fighting." A female marine replied with gusto.

"Hurrah!" The other marines added.

Suddenly, a singular alien decloaked next to the sergeant. He was wearing beautifully crafted silver armour, with the carvings having obviously been done by a master craftsman. Two others of his kind also decloaked behind him, leaving Kara to wonder why these creatures did not attack the marines.

"We have dealt with the traitorous Sanghelli, they will not be causing anymore problems." The silver armoured alien reported, twisting his neck with a satisfying click.

"Oh boy, you have no idea how good it is to see you Arbiter. Thought you were dead, glad to see we were wrong." Sgt Porthos stated, yelling out in pain as his chest got nicked by a plasma bolt. Causing him to fall to the floor.

"Sarge!" multiple marines Exclaimed, turning around to return fire on the banished who had somehow snuck up on them.

"Stay still, I cannot remove the armour if you are struggling." One of the aliens with the arbiter said, obviously a medic.

"C-Can't, gotta keep fighting, at least till the chief gets here." The sergeant replied.

"Then I suggest you rest, for here he comes." Arbiter said, pointing at a speck in the distance.

Kara zoomed in with her enhanced vision, and gasped at what she saw.

The marines weren't kidding when they talked about the chief.

Because he was kicking ass!

(What Kara is seeing)

John blocked a brute berserker's punch with his arm before returning with his own punch, sending the alien flying through the air. Skull shattered to pieces.

117 then unloaded a full clip of Ma40 ammo into the leg of a Hunter, causing the hive to scream out in pain. Before it could recover, John jumped over the hunter and placed a spike grenade onto it's exposed back.

When he landed, the hunter exploded in a flash of orange. With orange liquid and worm parts flying everywhere. However a yellowish glow covered John's back, protecting him from the shrapnel and debris.

117 then dodged an elite commander's energy sword slash, grabbing a hold of it's arm before twisting, breaking the alien's limb in a single motion. The Spartan then plucked the sword from the alien's limp hand before decapitating him, straight down the middle.

A brute chieftain rushed him, but Chief merely slid under the brute's legs before plunging the sword through it's back, causing it to puncture out through the front of the brute's chest.

It wasn't a battle, merely a slaughter.

Even though she could not see through his visor, Kara could tell the Master Chief was angry. And yet it didn't show in his fighting. He was the pure embodiment of calm, professional, destruction.

"What did I tell yah? Nobody messes with the chief." Sgt Porthos chuckled, seeing Kara's jaw drop.

"Report." Ordered John, walking up to the squad of marines he saw before him.

He had noticed the floating, unusually dressed woman next to them, and it had made his instincts go haywire. Everything about her screamed 'Danger.' But if she was not harming his men, then she was not the enemy and would be treated as an ally, for now.

"Besides the mess you just made chief? Nothing much, Jade Squad and Hotshot squad are KIA, it's been confirmed by Squad Bravo. My sniper has tagged three wraiths and a few banshees about a klik to the south." Sgt Porthos replied, walking up to greet his commanding officer.

"Any Fireteams on the line?" John asked, keeping his gaze on the horizon. Banished forces could attack at any moment, especially when they had no idea what the terrain was like.

"Negative sir, I'm sorry. According to our sweeps, no other Spartans made it down with us." The sergeant sighed, sad to give the man this news.

John closed his eyes behind his visor, silently praying that his brothers and sisters be alright, or that they at least survived. He would be damned if he was the last spartan.

"Apparently we're on another earth, you know about the Multiverse theory boss?" Medic Jeffrey asked.

"I know of it, yes." Chief replied, turning to look at the man. Doctor Halsey had made sure to fill her Spartans minds fulls of not just tactical information and UNSC history, but also science, biology, physics and other topics of importance.

"Well, according to blue tights over there, we're in the year 2018. And this planet ain't at war with no hinge heads, dwarves or beak faces." Porthos revealed.

"..."

"You ain't gonna say anything to that, nothing at all?" One marine exclaimed in shock, his name was James Harris, and he was an Private.

"I've been teleported from one half of the galaxy to another in microseconds, met a million year old alien demigod and fought actual space zombies. What do you want me to say? That I'm shocked?" the Spartan shrugged, obviously annoyed by the question.

John was not himself..

"Honestly... Chief has got a point." One female marine pointed out, with some of her teammates nodding in agreement. This marine was named Private Allen.

"Stock up on Ammo and supplies, we move out in five minutes." John ordered, rolling his eyes under his helmet.

The Spartan then walked over and stood in front of Kara, looking up and down the powered woman for any signs of technology or other means for her powers.

"Uhh, hi." Kara waved with a frown, wondering why he was looking at her.

'Oh Rao, he's taller than Jo'nn.' She mentally gasped, looking up and into his visor. Even with her X ray vision, she could not see through his armour or his golden visor.

"Greetings, Miss...?"

"Uhh Supergirl." Kara replied, shaking herself from staring. Not wanting to look weird or rude.

"Okay then... Miss Supergirl, I Am Master Chief Petty Officer, Sierra 117, I need a quick explanation on your abilities." He told her.

Kara blinked. "Just Supergirl is fine.. And why should I tell you this information?" she asked, eyebrow raised.

"You're cautious, I can respect that. However, you need to know that I mean earth no harm, but those aliens out there? The Banished? They have slaughtered millions of humans and thousands of our allied alien forces. They need to be stopped." Chief told her.

"So you need to know if I'm going to be in the way or if I can contribute at all.." Kara realized.

"Affirmative." John confirmed with a nod.

Kara sighed, deciding to listen to her gut for this one. "Freeze Breath, Super Strength, Super Speed, Flight, near invulnerability, X Ray Vision and Laser Eyes."

".. So you are an honest to goodness Superhero? Like from those marvel comics?" He asked with some evident disbelief.

"I mean, Yeah? I see myself more as a Captain Marvel mixed with She-hulk, just without the green.." she replied honestly.

John shook his head with a snort. "You think those two are good? You should have read the comics and novels we had back in the 22nd century." He teased, before then realizing what he was doing.

"D-Did you just-?" Kara blinked.

"I need to check the perimeter..." Barry interrupted, voice now cold and void of emotion. The Spartan then walked off, leaving a surprised and confused Kryptonian behind him.

'Did he just flirt with me?' Kara asked herself. Wondering what just happened.

'What was that? I Must have hit my head harder than I thought, I'll check. in with a Medic when I can' Barry told himself, confused as to what had just occurred.

"Huh, looks like big green is opening up, good for him." one marine whispered, his name was Medic Jeffrey.

"Bet you twenty bucks they're together by the end of the year." Offered Private Jenkins, a tall black haired marine.

"Hush up the chatter, it's none of our business, especially if the chief is involved." Sergeant 'Cold' ordered.

"I think it's cute..." Medic Frost muttered, only for Sergeant cold to then glare at her. "Frost, what did I just say?" he asked, eyebrow raised.

"Shutting up Sir.." Frost replied with a cheeky smile and mock salute, causing the whole squad to crack up.
