Several Days Later…

It was night time, for the past few days, deep in the forest where wild Pokemon roam in these parts were having dinner. Eating berries for supper. Just as a Ratatta had finished his supper he greets the other Pokemon that were still eating.

The Rattata is purple and white, he had fangs, a purple circular tail, and small paws. "Goodnight you guys! See you in the marrow." Rattata bumped into a tree that mad the other Pokemon laughed at him. He minded his own business as walked into the forest to sleep in his barrow.

Meanwhile a Froakie who is a blue frog and white with white ruffles with leaves and a twig stuck in her ruffle. She was carrying a music box with 6 grey gems carved in oak with strange Pokemon on it. The other person is a blue and white otter with a yellow shell on it's belly. Those are Anne Boonchuy and Frank Rameriez they were once human until a box transported them to this world as they turn into Pokemon.

All they could see a road going to the next town as their guide. Even with the shock of turning into these creatures and seeing plants and animals that weren't native to their own world. The exhaustion was affecting Anne.

"I can't… I can't go on. Said Anne exhausted.

"We're so close Anne." Frank said, but his body was telling him that it wanted to quit too. "We… We're so close…"

"No way, dude. We're definitely going to die out here!" Anne exclaimed, throwing her frog arms into the air. "There so many things I want to do. Like open a restaurant."

"Drive a car." Frank said.

"Go to Thailand."

"Eating a hamburger no last time."

"Definitely eating a hamburger," Anne said with a smile.

The two former friends laughed together. But then something else came up to her head. Over the past few days working together, she'd forgotten what Frank was like to be around. Sure, he didn't want to talk to her most of the time, and she could understand, but it was the moments they had to really just talk that reminded her that Frank was fun to be around.

"You know, it's times like this that reminds me of when we hung out. What happened to us, Frank?" Anne asked.

"You became friends with Sasha." Frank responded, turning his head to her.

"What?" Anne asked, sitting up and looking down at him with a raised eyebrow.

Feeling that didn't came out right, Frank sighed and sat up.

"No seriously. I feel like everything started to changing while you and Sasha became friends. After that, you didn't come to play with me, you didn't talk to me. You stopped looking at my direction. I guess that's why I was so angry with you. You threw me away."

Anne looked at Frank with a look of sadness and astonishment.

"Oh Frank…"

"Wait!" Frank interrupted her and placed his hand on her mouth. "Did you hear that?"

The two former friends paused for a moment to listen. The night air usual the sound of wind rustling and other creatures, but there was a sound, it sounded like tiny feet making noise.

"Is that the sound of feet running?"

"It's coming from over there, Anne said, pointing to the direction of the sound. Having regained their strength, they got up and headed in the direction of the sound. Peaking around a tree to see what the thing was, they were astonished by what they saw.

The Rattata looked like a rat from there world but is purple and white.

"Frank, what is that thing?" Anne said as they watched the rat walking towards there hiding spot.

"It's a rat," Frank said. It was also unreal to say, but it was true. They had been sent to a world of weird creatures that looked like some of the animals they know back home. "We should try and approach him carefully. Don't want to spook'em."

The ratata, was walking down the dark and beaten path within the woods, still humming away. It was the same path that leads to Pallet Town, so he felt safe when he goes down there since Kyra always comes to the forest early in the morning to greet him. He was minding his own business, until he suddenly heard a loud snap of a branch, and rustling caused by Frank and Anne.

He turned in the direction of the noise, his heart having a little jump when he heard the snap.

"Hello?" He asked in fear. Nothing was there. Just the winds blowing around him ominously. Rustling the leaves and skittering noises all around him.

"What's that?"

As he looked off in that particular direction, two dark threatening figures with glowing appeared from the bushes behind him. Until they were standing. That's when Ratata felt their presence behind him and slowly turned around as the figures approached him.

"AAAH!" He screamed, walking backwards until tripping over and falling on his but. The figures continued to approach him with eyes glowing white and one of them reached down towards him.

"No no no no no! NOOOO!" He scrambled and ran away as fast as he could.

But, in reality, there were no creatures that were trying to hurt him. There were no dark figures. It was just Frank and Anne. They had come to the forest to say hello and ask for help. When Ratatat tripped over, Frank bend down to bend down to help him up, but then he ran off. Now all they were doing standing there in confusion.

"What was that about?" asked Anne.

"Don't know, but I'm sure that it's nothing to worry about." Frank said.

"(sigh) So much for asking for help."

Night time in Pallet Town, years have passed since the Yvonne's moved to the small town. The town is asleep, shops have been closed. Icy cold winds rustled through the bountiful summer trees, filled with different berries and fruit ready to harvest. Other than trees, a few Pidgey's can be heard as they too… Settle down for the night… Although not everyone is settling down for bed.

In the Ketchum household, both Ash and Drake are still awake. Drake is lying on his bed with, studying a map of the Kanto Region. The one in which he spent over two years working on, to plan out his entire journey, where he's outlined: The order of the gyms he'll go to; the Pokemon he planned to catch; and he's planned route he will take. He spent years preparing for this and he has every little detail down. Both of the Ketchum brothers agreed to travel separately, mainly because they are both aiming for the Indigo League, and don't want to copy each other's terms and battle styles. Kyra agreed to travel with Ash instead of Drake since she felt she had a better sibling relationship with Ash then Drake.

Hanging up next to Drake's bed, is his new clothes, Delia made for his journey. Hanging on top of a the outfit is his own outfit is his own hat that he got from his Dad on his birthday years ago, which is 75% red with a white window and a black Pokemon League Organization sticker on the top right corner of the white window; his new ruby red jacket with white sleeves, and white lining; he also has a new black shirt underneath it; A pair of new Velcro gloves, which are black and in the middle and white edge; A pair of black silk trousers which are being held up a black belt designed to hold shrunken Pokeballs; Finally, he has a pair of jet black shoes. Looking at his new outfit shows a shirking resemblance of his father…

On the other hand, Ash stood in the middle of his room, trying on his new clothes his mother, Delia, made for his journey. He has his limited edition official Indigo League hat, which is 75% red, with a white window over the flap, and the the dark green indigo League symbol in the center; A new deep sea blue jacket, yellow linings, with white short sleeves, and a white collar; A pair of green Velcro gloves, with them being dark green over the hand and a lighter green around the edge; to match his gloves, he also has a new emerald green backpack; Under his jacket, he has a new pair of light blue jeans which are being held up by a brown leather belt, designed to equip shrunken Pokeballs on to; Finally, he has his new trainers which is a combination of black and white. Ash, himself was smiling broadly.

"I can't wait. Tomorrow I get my first Pokemon, and then me and Kyra can start on our journey." Ash thought getting really excited. "To Be A Pokemon Master." Drake heard that little outburst from across the hall, despite both their bedroom doors being locked. He simply rolled his eyes, how can he became Pokemon Master if he all he's done is play those childish games. He doubted Ash could get four out of eight badges in the Kanto Region or any other region for that matter. Drake thought about his sister Kyra. He thought Kyra could go far as a trainer for six or seven badges. If she stopped playing around with those creatures. Instead of preparing for her journey like he has.

Delia threw the door into Ash's room open and saw Ash stood in the middle of his room, making a striking pose with his pokeball alarm clock. His television is also on, showing a special battle between two trainers. One has a shadow Pokemon Gengar on the field, floating around, with a menacing smile. The other trainer withdrew another pokeball and released a giant onyx which toward over the Shadow Pokemon, even with it in the air.

This was the Kanto Championship League Battle, between Bruno of the Elite Four and last years Indigo League champion. Any trainer who wins that regions Pokemon League champion has a right to enter that Region's champion league and face it's elite four and champion. If they win, they could take position as the new champion. Although there's a catch. Kanto's Champion League consists of Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha , Lance and the champion Blue Oak. To conquer the Kanto's champion league, the trainer must defeat all five members in the set order, with a pre set team of six Pokemon. Healing has also been restricted to healing items they have on them and cannot use a Pokemon Center during the two day tournament. Although the battles, the trainer is allowed to substitute freely, while the League members are restricted to only changing when there pokemon is deemed unable to battle.

This trainer has already defeated Lorelei, although is currently struggling with Bruno, it looks like this is the end of champion league challenge. Delia was in her night robe, with a towel wrapped around her head and some sort of green face mask on. She was not amused, it was twenty to midnight.

"Ash, get to bed." She sternly told her son. Shocked by her presence, Ash jumped slightly, causing the pokeball alarm clock to pop out of his hand and fly at Delia. Delia didn't even flinch and caught the alarm clock with one hand and a hard glare. "It's late, you should be asleep." This was perfectly timed with the pokeball opening up and a model pidgey chirping out, revealing the time.

"I know Mom." Ash moaned, before realizing his tone, which seemed to harden Delia's glare. "I'm just too excited, tomorrow I can get my first pokemon and set off on my journey with my little sister Kyra." Delia sighed, she knew how long Ash and Kyra's dream about being trainers tomorrow and she honestly couldn't blame him.

"Fine you can stay up for ten more minutes and then I want you in bed." She explained, and walked over to the television. Ash nodded understanding. "For now you can watch something educational." Delia turned over to the channel from the battle to a show with Professor Oak and the three starters a new trainer can choose, going over the basic information on each of them. Ash knew there was no point in arguing.

"Okay Mom." Ash sighed in defeat.

"And get out of those clothes, or they'll be too dirty to travel in." She scolded one last time before leaving the room. Ash stated to change into his nightwear, but he could have sworn he heard a light chuckle come from his brother's room. Delia heard it too.

"Drake the same goes to you." The chuckling stopped.

"Why couldn't you two be more like your sister. She's already fast asleep." Delia said as she exited Ash's room.

Both brother sighed at that knowing full well that Kyra had been asleep hours ago.

Across Pallet, In a house, Serena was already lying down on a bed, although like Ash, she couldn't sleep, she was tossing and turning, with mixed feelings about what tomorrow would bring. About a year after the summer camp, Grace started putting Serena through some intense Rhyhorn Racing training, and after a few lessons, Serena discovered it wasn't for her, although problems arose when Serena was too shy to tell Grace she didn't want to follow in her footsteps.

Grace wasn't blind. She could easily tell Serena didn't like it, but she thought the training would help her grow as a person, especially if it gave her confidence to say no to her. Plus she saw the training as good bonding time. When Grace learned of her daughter's crush, she couldn't help but tease her. Although she wasn't too sure about them actually being together. Sure, she heard about how he and Kyra helped her and Ash was a nice kid like his sister Kyra, but this was her daughter. That all changed when they were eight…

Flashback Start…

After another painful Rhyhorn racing lesson in the morning, Serena was sat on the bench in the Pallet Park, watching the sunset. She was on the verge of breaking, sure she never out right told her Mother that she didn't like Rhyhorn racing but she gave several hints… Almost as many as she gave Ash about her feelings… Guess they're both blind to the obvious… The only person she told about her true feelings was Kyra. She was excited to have a sister in law in the future. Kyra was worried that Serena was forcing herself to like Rhyhorn racing. So she gave Serena advice to tell her mother the truth about Rhyhorn racing. Kyra was awestruck when she noticed how dense Grace is, it reminded her of her older brother Ash of how dense he is.

Ash and Kyra were watching Serena as she stared at the sunset, deep in thought. Ash and Kyra felt sorry for her Rhyhorn racing training and just wants to help. He and Kyra hate seeing anyone upset, whether friend or foe; person or Pokemon, he and his sister just can't sit by and let them be miserable. With his mind made up, Ash walked up behind Serena while Kyra watched from afar knowing her brother would be more helpful then she would have been, Ash then leaned against the bench she was sat on. Serena didn't seem to notice his appearance.

"Hey Serena." Ash addressed her. After a moments hesitation, Serena looked at the raven hair boy. She had a weak smile before responding.

"Hi Ash." Serena replied before turning her attention back to the sunset. Normally she would have an 'Ash Anticy' as Leaf dubbed it, just the two of them, alone, with the sunset to make the mood. But she is too depressed about the Rhyhorn situation, so much so that she didn't even blush. Ash noticed that Serena was acting like normally does, like she normally does, like she isn't even in the same place, so he knows he has to bring his friend back.

"Okay Serena." Ash spoke again. "What's wrong?" Serena looked at him and sighed, she didn't want to drag Ash into her problems.

"It's nothing Ash." Serena tried to convince, although she was clearly lying. Ash raised an eyebrow as to show his scepticism. "Really."

"Serena. I'm not blind and certainly Kyra isn't either since I notice her talking to you several times." Ash replied, causing her to look at him.

"Wanna bet?" Serena thought with an inward giggle, although her face stays neutral. Seeing as she didn't deny it, Ash decided to continue.

"It's about your Rhyhorn Racing, isn't it." Ash continued. Serena was in shocked he actually figured it out, but then again Kyra must have told him since they are siblings. "Did Kyra tell you about Rhyhorn Racing?" Serena asked. "We'll not exactly, I just noticed Sis talking to you a couple of times. I confronted Kyra about if her talks with you were about you hating Rhyhorn Racing. She said "it was the main topic of their conversation sometimes." When I try to ask her more about other topics she had with you. Kyra respond saying those talks were only for her and Serena to talk about since you both are girl. I decided to leave it at that." Ash explained. This gave the honey blond girl a shimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe he would discover her feelings for him… Although she is great full for Kyra keeping their talks about her feelings for her brother a secret from him. Even if a small part of her wanted Kyra to tell Ash how she really feels about him. Then again, this is Ash she was talking about even if Kyra would have revealed her feelings for him. Ash would still be oblivious about her feelings. Serena simply nodded. She couldn't deny it, but she couldn't bring herself to say it.

"Serena… You can't keep this up. You need to go and tell your mum that you don't want to be a Rhyhorn Racer." Ash told her.

"I don't know Ash." Serena sighed sadly. "I mean. My Mum is just so enthusiastic and I don't want to be upset her."

"Serena. Your mum loves you, and she might not know how you truly feel." Ash explained. "And think about it. She would never want to see you upset. So the longer you hide the truth, the more upset she will be." Serena couldn't respond, she is still very shy and just doesn't have the confidence to go through with this, at least not on her own.

"Come on Serena, Me and Kyra will be with you all the way." Ash encouraged. It did the trick, but there was still one little part holding her back. "Remember, Don't give up until it's over." Serena smiled, that saying Ash and Kyra would used to encourage her when they first met had become her motto of sorts, and was just what she needed to hear.

"Okay. Ash" Serena replied in almost a whisper. She stood up and looked at him. "Will you and Kyra will go with me, please?" Ash smiled, it seemed to have worked, now all she has to do, is say it to her face.

"Of course Serena. I'm sure Kyra would like to accompany us to your house." Ash replied with his signature thumbs up and toothy grin. "Me and Kyra will be with you all the way." Serena smiled, she could always count on Ash and Kyra. They both went up to Kyra as Serena had asked "If she would accompany her and Ash to her house?" Kyra smiled at Serena as she agreed to walk with them. With that the three kids made there way to the Yvonne house…

Outside the house, the family Rhyhorn was asleep in his out house, for some reason he hated his pokeball so this hut was build for him to live in. Serena was becoming very nervous.

"N-nononononono. I can't do this." Serena panicked as she curled up into a ball on the floor. Ash and Kyra saw they as they both sighed, sure he convinced her to do something and Kyra had talked to her about it, but now the real challenge.

"Come on Serena. You can do this." Ash told her, "Yeah Serena you got this me and Ash will be right here for you." Kyra encouraged her friend. Unfortunately she didn't move in her fear induced state. Ash and Kyra saw this as they sat down next to her. They started giving her words of encouragement.

Grace was watching this out the window. It almost brought a tear to her eye. She never wanted to make her daughter this miserable, she only forced the lessons as a way to help her confidence grow and bond with her. She also noticed how Ash and Kyra are supporting her. She would tease her little girl about the crush, but she on the fence about her daughter actually perusing it, this is her daughter after all. But now she seen him to support her, she can actually see them together. She can actually support her daughters quest.

For Serena, this was a turning point. A couple of times she considered that she should just forgot about her silly little crush and be just friends, but now he's going the extra mile to support her. She can't just forget about her feelings, she will wait to her final hour before she lets him go, he's too special to not peruse

After a few minutes. Ash and Kyra had convinced her to go through, and she subconsciously held his hand. Ash felt a little uncomfortable, but if it helped her, than it was fine. Kyra smiled at the scene. Grace saw Serena getting ready, and decided to play it like she hadn't seen that what occurred outside. She quickly dried her eyes and I'm her arm chair, picking up a magazine she was reading before she heard Serena and looked out the window.

As she finally started 'reading' the magazine, she heard the door open, and a couple of seconds later, Serena had walked into the room, while Ash and Kyra stayed at the doorway.

"Hello sweetie, back so soon." Grace greeted with a friendly smile. "Hello to you to Ash and Kyra."

Ash and Kyra smiled and raised their hand. "Evening Ms. Yvonne." "Hello Ms. Yvonne."

"Ash and Kyra I've told you. Call me Grace." She slightly scolded in a welcoming way.

"Ok… Grace." Ash replied a little uncomfortable he can be so informal with an adult.

"Yeah… Grace." Kyra replied in the same uncomfortable manner.

"Mum!" Serena drew her attention to herself, a little louder then she would've liked. The outburst was enough to grab Grace's attention.

"Yes dear." Grace replied, putting on a mask to say she doesn't have a clue about what's about to happen.

"Mum. I…" Serena started of assertive. "Don'twanttobeaRhyhornRacer." Grace could barely make out the mumble that followed.

"Sorry. What was that?" Grace asked, as even though she knows what was said, it was very mumbled.

"I said, 'I. Don't want. To be a Rhyhorn Racer." Serena replied, taking breaks in her speech. Grace decided to stay silent for a while to build up tension. She was quite for nearly two minutes.

"Okay." Grace replied simply like it's no big deal.

"Okay?" Serena asked, with clear confusion. She even looked towards Ash and Kyra, who shrugged their shoulders, showing they were just as confused, she didn't even notice Grace had stood up from her arm chair, put the magazine down and approached her daughter.

"Serena…" Grace started softly. "I know you've never liked Rhyhorn racing and I never intended you to become a champion like me."

"So… Why did you do it?" Serena asked as she face her mother. I put you in training for a few reasons actually…" Here, Grace took brief break before continuing. "Firstly, I thought it would be a good way to spend time together, after all, I have no idea about fashion or anything like that. Which you like to remind me of."

"Hehehe. Sorry about that." Serena apologized, she would always say her mother doesn't know anything about fashion, which is one of Serena's interests. She even once asked her mother for her opinion on a hat, then chose the opposite hat simply saying 'whichever one you didn't chose is cuter'. Maybe she was a little hard on her. Grace simply shook her head saying it's fine.

"Secondly, I know Rhyhorn racing can build character and confidence. I thought it will help you grow, and it seems I was right." Grace replied with a warm smile. Serena gave another confused look, causing Grace to giggle. "In the past, you would have just excepted the training and let me run your life, but now you're fighting against it. I think that takes both confidence and character." Serena smiled and threw her arms around her mother in a big hug.

"Thank you." Serena thanked, in the tight embrace as her mother returned the affection . Ash and Kyra smiled at the heart warming scene. Grace grew a sly smile on her face on her face as Serena slowly moved back out of the hug, but still quite close.

"Besides. Now you can work towards your true goal." Grace whispered so only Serena could hear. She then made a quick glance at Ash and back to Serena. Ash didn't hear the whisper or notice the glance. Kyra however noticed the whisper and the glance which she could guess what Grace and Serena were talking because what happened next with Serena, her face turned red as she shouted "MMMUUUMMM!"

Flashback End…

After a trip down memory lane, Serena smiled sadly, Ash helped her so much for the night her own dream to work towards, and since that day, she has considered multiple options: trainers, breeder, watcher, doctor, researcher, coordinator, connoisseur, and many more. She just couldn't find one to suite her. After everything Ash and Kyra did that day, and she couldn't even made a decision after years of thinking. She sighed as she lay in her bed, maybe she'll find something on her journey… Right, tomorrow she is setting off on her journey, not knowing when she'll see her friends again… Maybe Ash, Kyra, or Leaf will let her travel with them… With that she finally drifted into a deep slumber.

The very next morning, Frank and Anne were sleeping under in a cave that they were under last night. Awakened by the painful growling in their stomachs, the two got up, and looked at each other with their tired eyes.

"Morning, Frank." Anne yawned.

"Morning." replied Frank. "Feeling hungry!"

"Yeah, I haven't had anything else but berries."

"Well, let's get something to eat. 'I'm starving."

The two teens turned Pokemon are grabbing their new weapons. Frank discovered he can use a shell on his chest as a sword, while Anne made a spear out of a tree branch that had fallen off a tree. Frank used his shell to sharpen Anne's spear so she can speared any predators. As they got out of the cave, taking the music box with her.

"So what now?" Anne asked.

"We'll have to split up and search for food. If anyone like those creatures out there, just asked for help don't blow it." replied Frank.

"You know I won't." She rolled her eyes playfully.

"Okay, come back soon."

"I'm always coming back." Anne went to her direction to find something to eat while Frank went the opposite way. As the Thai girl turned blue frog Pokemon went to that direction, her best option is to eat berries again and maybe find veggies is she was lucky. What else could go wrong for living out in the wild until everything has all changed.

The next morning, Kyra, Ash, and Drake had gotten up, Kyra and Drake were awake sooner then Ash. By the time Ash had woken up, and dressed, he made his way downstairs and discovered Drake and Kyra are already awake, dressed and finished their breakfast. Kyra was wearing her red and orange sun shirt, blue jeans, sky blue jacket with crimson lining, wore black and scarlet knickers. Her trainer gloves are orange and white. Lastly she wore her signature sun googles that had a read and orange band with yellow lens. (Kyra called her googles, sun googles because they had the colors of the sun.)

Drake looked one of his younger triplets and rolled his eyes. Forget about those childish games, he woke up late on his first day as a trainer, yeah, he will never make it. Kyra smiled as her brother, while she glared at Drake for rolling his eyes at Ash. Knowing full well what he was thinking about. Come on Drake give Ash a break it's his first day as a trainer at least you could do was give him and me support. Kyra thoughts when she glared at Drake. Delia, on the other hand, smiled sadly, today is the day all her children will leave. She knows she can't hold onto them forever, but it is still upsetting.

"Come on honey, eat up." Delia told Ash as she placed his breakfast on the table. "This is the last meal I'm cooking for you, for a while at least." Ash and Kyra smiled, they would miss their mother's cooking, so Ash would make the most of this last meal. As Ash sat down and dug in at incredible speed, Drake grunted, not only could he not make it as a trainer, but his table manners was disgusting. Kyra looked away from her brother making a Mankey out of himself, the way he was eating.

"So kids, have you decided which Pokemon you'll pick as your starter?" Delia asked, trying not to think of the sadness of her children leaving.

"Of course." Drake replied, swift and short, he isn't up for conversation as he runs his planned journey through his mind. In stead of heading straight to Viridian City, he's going to head north west of Pallet town the wasteland and go to Celadon City for his first gym badge. Ash took a brief break from demolishing his breakfast to also answer the question. Kyra happily answered Delia's question.

"I would like the water pokemon Squirtle as my starter mum." Kyra said.

"That's nice honey, Squirtle will sure suite you as your starter." Delia said calmly to her daughter who is suppressing her excitement.

"I don't know yet Mum." Ash replied. "Any Pokemon would make an awsome partner." Drake grunted as he stood up and walked towards the door, grabbing his new bag on the way. He doesn't know even know which Pokemon he'll chose, disgraceful. At least Kyra decided on a Pokemon maybe she has what it takes to be a trainer Drake thought.

"Leaving already Drake?" Delia asked sweetly, she knows the bad atmosphere between her children, and doesn't want an argument on today of all days.

"Yeah mum." Drake replied with a neutral tone, he doesn't want a fight despite his feelings toward his little brother and sister. "I don't want to be late." Delia smiled, she knows it's a little early to leave, but it's probably for the best.

"Okay, just make sure you stop by before you leave." Delia replied with a warm smile, which Drake returned. He has nothing against his mother, and loves her as much as any son, after all, she treats him better than his father does.

"Of course mum. By for now." Drake replied and with that he left. Delia then looked back at Ash and Kyra, to see what reaction was… Kyra looked like she was about to cry, while Ash was continuing demolishing his breakfast and seemed unaffected , at least it didn't dampen his spirits… Unlike Kyra who is very sad that he wanted to leave the first chance he got to get away from his brother and sister.

"I… should get going too mum." Kyra sad in a sad voice as a few tears appeared from her face. Delia was sad for her daughter, since she loves both of her older brothers. Unfortunately Drake doesn't feel the same way as Kyra does. She tried to get Drake to spend time with Kyra by making him stay with her for 12 hours. Delia thought it was a good idea at the time, but what she didn't count on was Drake abandoning her in the middle of the forest. She was relieved that Ash and Serena found her and brought her back home. She did grounded Drake for a week after that. It hurt her heart that Drake doesn't want spend time with her and Ash.

"Alright Kyra you can go too. Remember to come back home so I can meet your starter before you leave with Ash." Delia reminded her daughter as she grabbed her sky blue and red backpack.

"I will Mom." Kyra said as she looked at her brother still eating breakfast. "I'll see you at the lab Ash, I'll… be… waiting." Kyra said sadly. Ash gave his little sister his signature grin and thumbs up letting her know it will be okay. Kyra smiled at this and left.

On the road to Professor Oak's lab she heard a scared voice saying: "Monster! There are Monsters in the woods!" The ratata named Wally came in to view he lost his left eye years ago when a wild pokemon attacked Wally and Kyra saved him. He can me eccentric at times but he is a good friend.

"Slow down Wally can you tell me what'cha saw?" Kyra asked worried about her friend.

"It's horrible one of them was a blue and white frog with leaves and twigs. The other one was a white and blue otter." Wally explained.

"Wally, I'll go check the forest to see these so called monsters. They could be Pokemon that are new to the forest and I'll go talk to them and straight things out."

"But, aren't you going to the Professor's lab to get your starter. You start your journey today right?" Wally asked.

Wally did had a point. She is starting her journey today. She got up early to get to the lab to get her starter, but helping Pokemon comes first. Kyra thought in determination since she would drop everything to help Pokemon in need.

"Don't worry Wally, I can be a little late. Besides helping Pokemon out is the right thing to do." Kyra said.

"Aye, that's a responsible thing to do." Wally said impressed by Kyra determination.

As Kyra made a detour to the Pallet town forest. Unknown to her and Wally two of the Pokeballs that her Dad got her five years ago for her birthday started to glow.

In the Yvonne house, Serena had woke up early. Got dressed in the outfit she decided to wear on her journey and made her way downstairs. Her outfit consists of: A dark grey tank top, with a white collar, dark grey stockings, she still has her long honey blonde hair, although it's grown in the years to just above the her waist, a red skirt black high tops and a dark pink hat paired with a black headband and bow.

As she made it into the kitchen, she saw her mother sat on the table with a marble white box on it front of her, while reading the letter. Serena could have sworn she saw the dread in on her mother's face. Although when she heard the door creak as Serena pushed it open because she couldn't get through the small crack it was open. As soon as Grace heard the creak, she quickly scrunched the letter and forced it into her handbag, which is on the floor next to her.

"Morning." Grace greeted with a force smile. Serena thought this was weird, but she shrugged it off, today is the first day of her journey.

"Morning mum." Serena replied as she walked to the table and sat down to eat breakfast. As she did, she noticed a pokeball present in that white box. "Hey Mum, what's with the pokeball?". Serena had genuine curiosity. For a brief moment, she saw the look of dread strike Grace's face.

"Serena dear." Grace started softly. "Before your father died. He wanted to leave you something important. So he went to a friend of his a Pokemon breeder. Do you remember he asked which Pokemon you'd want as your first?" Serena nodded in understanding.

"After he died. His friend continued raising the Pokemon you wanted so you could start of your journey with your perfect partner." Grace concluded as she pushed the box towards her. Serena looked in the box with a sad smile as a single tear rolled down her face. When she was told her dad died, it hit her hard.

"Daddy." Serena whispered sadly, at least she now has something to remember him by. She picked up the pokeball and smiled at it." I promise I'll make you proud." With that she pressed the button to see her new starter, and the last gift from her father…

Somewhere in the deep forest, Kyra is running along in the forest. She search through the log, then she pops out of a log . Her plane was to go talk to this mysterious blue frog and otter about scaring other Pokemon. She could spare a couple of minutes since she was early.

Kyra kept walking in the woods she got herself ready to meet these creatures. As she looked down she sees tiny frog footprints as she gasped. It must be one of the creatures that Wally talked about.

"Seems like this creature roams these parts. Probably a good place for a tra-aaAAAAHHH!"

Kyra was caught in a rope trap and flies into the air, then falls back down. She fell for a booby trap, but then heard some bushes rustling.

"Hm?"

Just then when bushes, and it revealed to be…a disheveled blue and white frog, with a bubbly scarf that has a twig and two leafs. She (since the frog sounded like a girl) is panting and holding a pointed stick looking like that she's pretty exhausting.

"Caught ya! Thought you get the best of old Anne, eh? Well you didn't!"

Kyra's eyes were widen with a shocking reaction that this might be the one that Wally was telling her about.

"A frog Pokemon I never seen before! You aren't a Pollywag or Poliwhirl! What kind of Pokemon are you!" Kyra yelled do to her shocking reaction.

Anne blinked in disbelief. She wasn't in the mood for all kind of nonsense.

"Stop following me." said Anne.

"I have bad news for you frog creature your not hurting any other Pokemon or human today!" Kyra yelled at Anne in defiance.

"Uh, I'm not going to hurt you or any other creature that lives here." Anne cringed after setting down the spear down.

"You tried to hurt Wally!" Kyra accused her.

"I tried to ask "Wally" for help. He ran off screaming the second he saw me!" Anne exclaimed.

"That does sound like Wally…" Kyra sighed knowing full well it was something the purple rat Pokemon would do. Ran from his live rather then ask questions.

Unknown to them was a large large bug shadowy figure was approaching from behind, and when Kyra saw a wild Pincer she gasped in fear. Anne turned around and gasped when she saw a giant pincer bug pokemon coming front of the forest and was approaching them.

"It's coming back!" Anne whispered without having to yell.

"A Pincer what it doing here?" Kyra asked.

Without a reply, she picked up her spear and sped off, leaving Kyra behind upside down.

"Where you going?"

"There you are you no good food thieve!" Pinsar screeched in anger as it got close to Kyra. She tried to swing back and forth to try and break free. Kyra flails about, screaming, then she tried to gnaw on the rope to free herself. Anne was running until she heard Kyra scream and looked back. As Pinsar drew closer, her eyes widened when she saw that Kyra was still upside down.

Kyra tried chewing on the vine rope to break free, but Pinsar had already reached her when the bush rustled. Letting out a angrey screech he used Rock Tomb on Kyra who is still stuck in a tree. Kyra stopped gnawing the rope and screamed.

Anne wanted to leave, but she didn't want to abandon the kid. Deciding that she wasn't going to let Kyra die because of her. She had no other choice, she rushed back towards her to cut the rope with her spear, then she dropped the spear, grabs Kyra's hand and start running. Just as the Rock Tomb missed.

"Whoop, here we go."

She and Kyra ran through the forest with dragging Kyra as they slid down and duck and cover to the log to hide themselves from the Pincer. She covered Kyra's mouth to hush and peeked through the hole to see that Pincer was actually a stub beetle who was chasing Anne for taking his berries.

However the Pincer gave up and decided to look for more berries to eat. As the two sighed in relief, Anne was sitting while Kyra was standing. Kyra was surprised the blue frog saved her.

"You… you saved me! Your a hero!" Kyra smiled.

"So what are you anyway? I know your a Pokemon but what type are you?" Kyra asked.

"Dude, I don't know what a Pokemon is or what I am now, but I'll tell you my name it's Anne. Anne Boonchuy." As Anne introduced herself.

"I'm Kyra Ketchum! It's nice to meet you!" Kyra happily held out her hand to her.

"Uh… okay…" Anne grabbed and shook Kyra's hand. They both smiled.

Suddenly, they heard stomach growling that it came from the blue frog called Anne since she hadn't eaten anything for a week besides just fruit.

"Okay, Kyra." You got anything to eat?" Anne asked.

"Sure do!" We have to get out of this log first and walk a bit before I give you some food since wild pokemon run these parts. Come on follow me!"

Kyra ran out of the log, but Anne stood when coming out of the log looking suspicious.

"How do I know I can trust you?" Anne asked skeptically.

Kyra stopped and turned back to her.

"Well what choice do you have. You can go back into the forest to get food." Kyra said.

Anne decided to go with her since she didn't want the stag beetle to catch her.

"Well, okay lead the way Kyra." As Anne laughed.

As they both left the log and went to find a clearing for Anne to eat.

Ash was in a rush, he ended up seconds and thirds of his mother's cooking, and that put him on a tight deadline to make it to the lab. As he came to a cross roads, he saw Serena running towards the same direction. At least he's not the only one who's late.

After she released her new pokemon, she spent a lot of time playing with the little mon. Despite being a few days old, she was never trained in a battle or raised to a level above a typical starter, and had clearly been well cared for.

Due to running at the same pace, they met at the crossroads and started running to the lab next to each other.

"Morning… Ash…" Serena greeted in between breaths.

"Morning… Serena." Ash replied.

As they came up to the lab. Drake, Leaf, and Gary were stood outside the door. Ash wondered where her little sister Kyra was since she left after Drake. She should have been at the lab waiting with the others by now. Ash started to get worried. As Ash and Serena joined the group, the door was opened a little over a second later… What could have happened to Kyra? Ash thought.

Back to Anne where she was sitting and waiting for Kyra to bring some food until he brought back with a container and a bowl. Kyra put the bowl in front of Anne as she opened the container to reveal pellets, as she poured the pellets into the bowl. Anne hesitated before she picked up one of the pellets carefully taking a bite, but then she smiles that it tasted good.

"Hey, this is pretty good." said Anne when chewing.

"We'll I made this type of Pokemon food for water pokemon. Since I wanted Squirtle as my partner. So I studied pokemon nutrition, herbs, and berries to make the food. With some help from Professor Oak." Kyra said confidently.

"We'll it's really delicious! Thanks Dude!" Anne said great fully. Which made Kyra smiled.

"So first question: You were really confused that you didn't know what a Pokemon is since you are one? You seem to be a rare pokemon since I never seen this kind before? Kyra pointed her hands at Anne. I know you clearly not a Pokemon from the Kanto region since I studied all the Kanto Pokemon from my own region." Kyra said tried to piece the information she has on Anne.

"I'm a human being and I come from…" Anne stood up and moved one arm over her head. "ANOTHER WORLD!"

Her shout has spread throughout the echoes, hoping that didn't get them attention.

"Either that, or this is a dream."

"Your telling me you were human from another world different from mine. Some how you ended up in my world turned into a Pokemon. Do you know how you got here at least?" Kyra said in bewilderment. She had never heard of such a thing in her entire life. Then she remembered seeing a rainbow light in a night sky a week ago. Maybe that's how Anne got transported from her world to the Pokemon world. Kyra thought.

Anne was going to tell Kyra everything, but she couldn't. How was she going to explain all of this since she stole the magical box that has stranded her and Frank to this Pokemon World? Kyra had told her, It was not something that she like to bring up much, or don't even know everything about that box or if her friends were teleported to the world with them. So, instead, she just answered when covering up.

"Nope. One minute I was in my world and the next thing I know I was here. I don't know how I get home or even if I can go home." She sat down next to her. "So yeah that's my story. How 'bout you? What were you doing in the woods? Why is your pocket glowing?" Anne asked.

"Well I came here to investigate this forest of a creature that Wally saw last night. To be honest I was going to talk to it since it was new to the area. Then I met you Anne and you seem like a cool girl/Pokemon. Kyra then went into her pocket and took out the blue pokeball that had a heart symbol on it as it was glowing. Kyra brought the pokeball towards Anne as it glowed brighter. It looks like the pokeball I have is corresponding to you Anne for some reason? Kyra concluded. Anne looked confused by all of this. So Kyra explained how she got these pokeball as she brought out the other eleven.

"You see Anne my Dad got me these Pokeballs for my fifth birthday. He told me a mysterious woman came to him to give him the Pokeballs. Dad told me after my birthday "that I was destined to have these." I never knew what he meant by that since these Pokeballs look kind of ancient but at the same time futuristic.

Anne can sense sadness in her voice but chose not press any further.

"So you got a map, so I can get out of this cooky place?" Anne asked wanting to find her way out of the forest.

"I'm sorry Anne I don't actually have a map but it's going take more then a map to survive. Your going to have to travel with someone for a while to keep you safe. Since there are wild pokemon out in these woods since you encounter that Pincer. Also to avoid Pokemon trainers since you are a rare pokemon a lot of trainers might want to catch you to make you one of there pokemon. Some trainers are not good Anne some could hurt or neglect Pokemon, if they think your not worthy. Sometimes they would release Pokemon in the wild to defend for themselves." Kyra said.

Anne however was mortified of what Kyra just said, she loves animals, but now she learns they are other human who treat Pokemon like things. She was angry and hurt about that.

"Where am I gonna find someone to travel with?" Anne asked in frustration.

"Well you can come with me and my brother since we are going to leave to travel all over our home region." Kyra suggested to Anne.

"You really do that for me?" Anne said in surprise.

Kyra nodded to confirm.

"Wow thanks Dude!" Anne said happily.

"First Anne I have to get to the lab to grab my starter and my Pokédex from Professor Oak. Then I have to go to my house real quick." Kyra said knowing she'll get an earful from her mother if she skipped out seeing her before she left.

"Who's Professor Oak?" Anne asked skeptically. Kyra can sense her mistrust.

"Don't worry Anne he's a family friend and lead research authority of the Kanto region. He's a very nice man I knew him most of my life." Kyra reassured her.

Anne sighed before saying "okay" as she hopped along with Kyra towards the lab.

At the Lab… "Greetings, everyone." The Professor opened the door and stood in front of them, Drake, Leaf, and Gary all turned towards him, Drake also smiled and raised his hand, while Gary had his hands in his pocket, which his typical smirk on his face.

"Morning Professor." Leaf cheerfully greeted with her bubbly tone. Leaf had a giant smile on her face.

"Morning Gramps." Gary replied, with his typical smirk on his face. Both Ash and Serena were slowly catching there breath back.

"Morning… Professor…" Both of the late arrivals spoke in union. The Professor raised an eyebrow, it was clear those two were the late arrivals and as is standard, the new trainers chose there pokemon in order of arrival. When looked at the children he noticed that one was missing Kyra Ketchum. The Professor wondered what happened to her he prayed that she was alright. Right now he had a job to do hopefully Kyra will arrive at the lab soon and she'll have some explaining to do on why she was so late.

"Children. Today is the day you start on your journey and enter the world of Pokemon." The Professor addressed them. "Would you please follow me?" The Professor turned around and started to walk down the hall. Drake followed first, in the lead, Ash and Serena both followed and Leaf joined in making up the regular trio, with Gary bringing up the rear, in a chilled posture. Oak lead them into a room that resembled a living room, with three Pokeballs on the coffee table.

Once almost everyone was inside, Oak stood next to the coffee table and signaled the children to stand in line. The order went: Drake, Ash, Serena, Leaf, and Gary. All eagerly awaiting to get there pokemon. Oak waited a solid minute, to see if Kyra would come into the lab any minute. Gary's sister pushed a metal trolly into the room, on the top were sets of five Pokeballs and Pokédex paired together. There were six pairs altogether.

"Trainers. You are about to set off on your own journey with your pokemon partners." The Professor announced. "Together, you'll travel across the lands, meeting and befriending people and pokemon alike, working towards your own dreams." Serena flinched at the end part, she didn't have her own dream and few people knew it, Leaf, Kyra, and Grace to be accurate.

"Daisy, is now handling out your Pokédexes and Pokeballs. The Pokédex will allow you to reasearch, record and store on any Pokemon you find in the wild. Although it has the capability for all currently known about, I wish for you to record the 150 species native to the Kanto region." The Professor explained. Everyone was thankful as Daisy handed out the sets to each of them. Especially Leaf, unlike the three boys, Leaf's dream is to record and store information in the Pokédex, which is partly due to her love of exploring. "If you do so, I will have a special reward for you." Once everyone had settle down, the Professor saw it logical to continue.

Then the lab door opened, as everyone turned to see Kyra and with her a blue and white frog Pokemon most of them never seen before. Only Serena and Professor Oak knew what kind of Pokemon it is.

"You are late Kyra." Professor Oak scolded her for being late. Kyra's face looked ashamed. Anne felt bad for Kyra since it was her fault that she was late to being with. Anne hoped there was some way to make it up to Kyra. Then Professor Oak's face soften before saying, "I take it that your late because of this Froakie." Professor Oak said with a knowing look.

"Froakie? You mean that's what kind of Pokemon Anne is." Kyra said.

Anne was just as surprised that's what her Pokemon form was called.

Drake was annoyed at Kyra, she had the opportunity to be on time but she decided to go help this Froakie instead. It was disgraceful. Drake had high hopes for her sister, maybe higher then Ash's. After his sister's display he know know truly she'll never make it as a trainer now.

"Anne? My girl, is that the name you gave for this Froakie?" Professor Oak asked.

"No, Professor Oak, Anne told me her name and that she's a human that got turned into a Pokemon. When I found her in the forest to investigate when Wally the local ratata came to me about a mysterious creature. Honestly when I first met Anne I was surprised that she was able to trap me by pointing a spear at me. Anne did saved me from a wild Pinsir though." Kyra said.

Everyone was loss for worlds of what Kyra just said. They didn't know what to say.

"Sure Kyra girl and Ashy boy will become the Indigo League champion too. HHAAAAA!! Gary laughed at Kyra. "Hey!" Ash yelled as he was offended.

Anne went up to Gary as he jumped on his shirt as he grabbed his collar what happened next startled everyone but Ash and Kyra.

"YOU DON'T TALK TO KYRA LIKE THAT UNDERSTAND!!" Anne yelled at Gary.

Anne the Froakie just talked and they could understand her.

"How could you talk like us? That's impossible." Gary said in shock.

"It seems what Kyra said is true. Anne must be human since she was able to be able to talk like us. The question remain is how she got turn into a Pokemon in the first place?" Professor Oak questioned. "Kyra can you please get Anne off my grandson." Professor Oak asked. Kyra realized this as she grabbed Anne from Garry's shirt collar as she let go of Gary while Kyra was holding her as she joined the rest of the group.

"Maybe she escaped from a lab where they did experiments on humans." Leaf suggested.

"Human experiments!?" Serena yelled in fear. As she imagined herself being probed men with white coats. Like something from her past that is being suppressed.

"Yeah, that didn't happen." Anne said with a deadpanned face.

Leaf's face looked a bit annoyed at Anne.

"Kyra, there is something glowing in your pocket may I see it?" Professor Oak asked.

Kyra took out the blue pokeball that was glowing and handed it to Professor Oak. Professor Oak examined it for a moment before handing it back to Kyra. Which put it back in her pocket. Everyone saw the pokeball glow in a blue color. They wonder how one of Kyra's Pokeballs was glowing.

"Kyra, when did one of your Pokeballs glow?" Professor Oak asked.

"It noticed it glow when Anne told me when she saw it. I also noticed that the pokeball glowed more when I am near Anne." As Kyra got out the pokeball again as it got close to Anne the glow grew brighter. Everyone except Drake and Gary looked amazed at bright light. For a few short minutes before she put the pokeball back into her pocket.

"I can now say that Anne and the pokeball that your father gave you years ago are connected I'm going have to talk to your father about this." Kyra stiffen by the mention of her father. Anne noticed Kyra's stiffness since she was still holding her arms. "For now, Kyra I will ask you to stand next to Gary. Since you arrive late you will go last, when everyone else gets there pokemon." Professor Oak explained.

"Sure Professor, I can wait." Kyra said with a smile. Professor Oak smiled at her patience. Kyra on the other hand was in sadness she realized she wouldn't be getting Squirtle as her partner. Since there were only three starters and six people are here. Kyra is smart she knew one of her other friends or brothers will get Squirtle. She was also happy because she got to meet Anne. Anne looked up at Kyra seeing her sad expression. She knew she had hurt Kyra chances of getting her starter. Now she will not get one because she had to go find her to prevent any of the wild pokemon to hurt her or the Pokemon that live there. Anne thought of a way to help Kyra. Kyra needed a Pokemon and she is a Pokemon. Maybe she can offer herself as her starter. It would be perfect, Kyra did mention I can travel with her. Why not become her Pokemon too.

"Now, as is tradition, you can chose your pokemon in order of arrival." The Professor explained. "Drake. Would you step forward." Drake smiled and took a step towards the table holding the three Pokeballs. "You may choose your partner." Drake looked over the three Pokeballs, next to each one, was the name of Pokemon held within them. Drake looked over the three Pokeballs and smiled, he made his decision long time ago, he was going to follow in his father's footsteps and when he wins the Indigo League, maybe he will finally be accepted.

"Thank you, Professor." Drake bowed at the old Professor in gratitude. "I have made my decision."

"Go ahead my boy." The Professor replied.

"I chose… Charmander." Drake grabbed the fire starters pokeball, with a hand gesture from the Professor, he pressed the button in the middle and the little mon appeared on the floor. Drake kneed down to Charmander, as the fire type looked back at his new trainer.

"Hey Charmander." Drake spoke. "Wanna join my team?" Charmander stared at the boy in front of him, studying his face, he definitely looks capable so why not.

"Alright." Charmander nodded. Following a little display of his power, Charmander scratched in front of him once with each claw, then he swung his tail around.

"Great. You look strong and battle ready." Drake commented as he pulled out his new Pokédex, Leaf did the same:

Charmander, the lizard Pokemon. His mother lights a flame on his tail at birth. If the flame goes out, this pokemon dies. The strength of the flame is a sign of this Pokemon's health.

"I must say, Drake." The Professor spoke, drawing everyone's attention. "With Charmander by your side. You are the spitting image of your father." Drake bowed, inwardly smiled, the red tornado of legend will continue. With that he walked back to his place in line with Charmander stood by his foot.

"Drake, I'm sure you'll make a great team." Ash commented with a smile, he doesn't want to cause a scene, it's not the time or the place. I don't need your praise or Sis's… I'll prove who's the best at the indigo league… If you two make it that far.

"Oh yeah dude, Kyra will get to the Indigo and beat you in a match." Anne said proudly.

"That is if she'll get a Pokemon and get all the badges." Drake said with a smirk of her face. Kyra tensed up by Drake's remark.

Anne's face looked red with anger as she try to get out Kyra's hold. Kyra struggled to get Anne to stay still and not make a scene.

"Take it easy Anne we don't want to cause a scene."

"Leaf will you step forward?" The Professor requested. Leaf

excitedly jumped at the table, the Professor smiled at hyper active girl. "You may chose your Pokemon." Leaf didn't waste any time and her hand quickly grabbed the pokeball labeled Bulbasaur.

"It seems you've made your decision." The Professor commented. Leaf blushed in embarrassment. Her over eagerness caused her to briefly forget her manors.

"Oh sorry Professor, thank you." Leaf quickly apologized followed by a bow in thanks. Receiving the same hand gesture from the Professor, Leaf pressed the button and released her new partner. Bulbasaur appeared on the floor and was facing leaf, who had dropped to her knees.

"Hello Bulbasaur. I'm Leaf. Do you want to go on an adventure with me?" Leaf spoke at rapid speed, trying and failing to contain her excitement. Bulbasaur, like Charmander studied Leaf, but this time it only took a couple of seconds before Bulbasaur makes a decision.

"Sounds great." Bulbasaur happily replied before jumping into Leaf's arms. Leaf's smile only grew as she giggled and hugged the little mon back.

"You two seem like a perfect match." The Professor commented with a smile, Leaf was able to pull out her Pokédex:

"He's sooo cute. I bet you'll work great together." Serena comment with a friendly smile.

"I can tell you and Bulbasaur are going to be partners for life by the way you two get along." Kyra commented.

"Thanks Kyra and Serena. I know we'll have great adventures together." Leaf replied with glee.

"Uurgh, annoying girls." An irritated Gary thought.

"Ahem!" Anne cleared her throat before giving Gary a glare that made his spine shiver.

"Gary. Will you please step forward." The Professor requested. Gary smirked before stepping up to the table and swiping the pokeball containing Squirtle. Without a word, he pressed the button and released Squirtle, unlike the others, Gary remained standing and looked down of the little mon.

"Yo lucky guy, what do you say we conquer the Indigo League together?" Gary arrogantly asked, as he looked at Squirtle. Everyone else sweat dropped at his attitude except for Anne who chuckled at him. Gary gave the small blue and white frog the stink eye. Which resulting Anne to roll her eyes at Gary for being a jerk. The humans thought, hopefully he will lose his arrogance as he travels. Squirtle, like the others, spent time to look over his new trainer in front of him. He seemed to take the longest, but near three minutes, he finally answered.

"Ok pal." Squirtle replied as he pounded his shell with his paw he crunched up into a fist. With that, Gary walked back to his place in line, and like Charmander stood by his new trainer's foot. Gary and Leaf both pulled out there Pokédex's:

"Now, Ash and Serena. You arrived together, so decide among yourselves, who'll go next." The Professor instructed.

"Um, Actually Professor." Serena replied as she tried to raise her hand, although it was really quite, she is still quite shy.

"Serena you can go. Ladies first and all." Ash smiled as he gestured her at the table.

"No Ash. Actually I." Serena tried to respond but then again was almost inaudible.

"Serena. Will you please step forward." The Professor requested.

"I ALREADY HAVE A POKEMON!" Serena shouted out. This took everyone by surprise. Serena blushed from embarrassment, she hated being the center of attention. "A package arrived this morning, before my Dad… He had his friend breed a Pokemon for me, and for that one to be my starter." Everyone already knew what happened with Serena's father (except for Anne how looked puzzled) and didn't need to be told again.

"Very well. Feel free to let it out." The Professor replied. He guess he'll need to give that Eevee to someone else. Serena smiled and bowed in thanks before pulling out the pokeball, she pressed the button and a little pale yellow fox pokemon appeared, who turned around to her trainer and leaped into Serena's arms burying her face into Serena chest.

"OOOWWWW, she's so cute." Leaf andAnne squealed, as Serena giggled.

"You two will make a great team." Ash commented. Serena blushed before she and Leaf pulled out their Pokédex's:

"Ash will you please step forward." The Professor requested. Ash smiled broadly as he stepped up to the table. This is it, he is about to meet his partner who he will travel with, bond with and battle with, they will go all the way, and become the greatest team there is… When he stepped up to the table, he saw there was no Pokeballs left. Everyone else noticed this and they looked nervous not only for Ash but for Kyra as well since she will be going after Ash now. Serena, Leaf, and Kyra were the only ones that looked nervous.

"Um Professor. There is a Pokemon for me and my sister right?" Ash asked a little nervous, as he looked at the Professor with pleasing eyes. Kyra was just as nervous as Ash, while Anne is upset with her self since she was the one who caused this situation in the first place. The Professor rubbed the back of his neck.

"There is another Pokemon… Although I must warn you. This Pokemon has had a trouble past." The Professor explained. This made Anne become curious about this Pokemon. "Are you sure you want it?"

"YES! Professor I'll take it ." Ash said happily exclaimed. Gary grunted, why was he so easily excited, he's so annoying. Drake inwardly frowned; Great, he's giving the Pokemon with issues to the least capable one here, get ready for the fireworks. Kyra was worried for her older brother. Hoping he'll be okay, as for the Pokemon she wonders what kind of issues it developed. The Professor smiled, he knows Ash is serious about this, and he knows that they'll become great partners and the best of friends.

"Okay Ash, I trust you." The Professor replied as he took a pokeball out of his pocket on his lab coat. "I must ask the rest of you to step back and not startle the Pokemon."

With that Ash looked fondly , as everyone, including the Professor took a big step back. With cost is clear, Ash turned to the table and pressed the button. The pokeball opened and released the Pokemon onto the table. It was revealed to be a Pikachu.

Ash stared at the Pokemon, and after less than a second, his face broke out with a massive grin. "A Pikachu. That will be an awesome Pokemon." Both Ash, Kyra, and Drake had the same thought, why do I think he would say that no matter who was in that pokeball.

Pikachu looked at Ash curiousity, who did this kid think he was.

"Hello Pikachu. My name is Ash. Ash Ketchum. I heard you had trouble in the past and I promise I will help you in any way and become you'r partner." Ash happily explained with a big smile. Pikachu continued watching Ash, he didn't believe this kid for a second, he has heard this stick before. Pikachu promptly turned his back.

"Yeah right." Pikachu replied with a dark tone, clearly not believing him.

"Come on Pikachu, I promise I'm not like those people in the past."Ash pleaded, "My brother is right Pikachu he's the type of person that loves Pokemon not hurt them like your other trainers did in the past." Kyra defended her brother. Ash then expanded his arm come towards him, so he's starting already. "Ash wait stop, don't do it!" Kyra shouted to try to warn her brother. Which made Anne concerned about Kyra. It was too late to help him as Pikachu narrowed his eyes, and then released a powerful electric shock. Ash could barely hear the Professor warning him not to, but it was too late.

"Hahahahahahahah. Jeez. Ashy boy, I thought it would take longer for your pokemon to discover you no good." Gary laughed. Drake did an inwardly smirk, it's just like I predicted. Kyra looked very concern for her brother while Anne was flabbergasted at the scene. On the other hand Serena and Leaf were scared for Ash's wellbeing. As Ash pulled himself up, he dusted off the spot.

"Ash, are you okay?" Serena asked, concern evident in her voice.

"Yeah, that attack you took looked painful." Kyra said in worry.

"I hope you and Pikachu will be alright working together." Anne said noticing their strained partnership.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Ash reassured, although it didn't work 100%. Then he turned to face Pikachu again. "Hey Pikachu, your really strong. I'm sorry if I scared you, I didn't mean anything bad by it." This actually surprised the little mon, he was only ever called weak, pathetic so on. But he just shocked this kid, and not only does he comment on his strength, but also apologizes, and he doesn't even look a bit angry, maybe he judge to quickly. "Please forgive me." Pikachu looked into Ash's pleading eyes and couldn't see any malice.

"Fine, I forgive you." Pikachu replied, with a slight nod of the head.

"Great, I know we'll make a team." Ash excited replied, as he jumped up. Pikachu sparked his cheeks again.

"I forgave you. Don't push it." Pikachu warned. Ash quickly calmed down again.

"Okay Pikachu, don't worry I just want to be friends." Ash explained as he held his hands up as a sign of retreat.

"Geez Ash, you need to put it back in your pokeball, before it shocks someone else." Drake warned.

"I must agree with your brother on this one Ash, at least until you have come to understanding." Professor added.

"If you think I'm going in that death trap you called a pokeball, then you've got another thing coming." Pikachu added.

"It's okay Pikachu, if you don't want to, then I won't make you go in your pokeball." Ash replied in a friendly smile. "You can just stay out here with me." Again, Pikachu was shocked, he really was considering the little mom's feelings. Then something seemed odd.

"WAIT! DID YOU JUST UNDERSTAND ME!?" Pikachu asked, clearly surprised. Ash and Kyra couldn't help but chuckle slightly.

Which confused Anne greatly, this Pikachu acts like he never heard of people understanding Pokemon before.

"Dude, I don't get you, you act as if you never heard of humans understanding Pokemon before. Kyra and the others can understand me just fine." Anne said.

Which bewildered Pikachu greatly, almost not believing the Froakie. Since he sees all the humans staring at her like they understood her.

"H-How is that possible! There is no way a Pokemon like you can communicate with the humans!?" Pikachu ranted.

"Why not dude, your not making any sense." Anne argued.

"Anne was originally human, but got turned into a Pokemon when she ended up in our world. That's why we can understand stand her and she can understand both people and pokemon." Kyra explained.

"Okay, that make some sense." Pikachu said as he wasn't sure what to believe. As he shrugged.

"Hold on why would it be impossible for me to communicate with humans?" Anne asked curiously.

"Human's can't understand Pokemon at all only "select few can understand Pokemon."

Drake said with anger in his voice as he glared both Ash and Kyra.

Anne just silently just listened as understanding what Drake was saying. She was surprised that most humans can't understand Pokemon like Kyra and Ash could.

"Yeah Pikachu, me and Kyra can understand pokemon." Ash replied. "And before you ask, Me and Kyra don't know how, I just know I can." "It's true Pikachu, I asked myself that question for years." Kyra said. Anne wished Marcy was here she could help both Ash and Kyra figure out how they could understand Pokemon if most humans can't. Pikachu was surprised, his mother told him stories about humans that can understand Pokemon, but he and his sister couldn't be… could they? Deciding to give the boy a chance, after all, if everything he's done so far was just for show, then it'll be easy enough to escape. With that, Ash made his way back in line, Pikachu followed, but made sure to keep his distance from those other people and pokemon. Once, there Ash and Leaf pulled out their Pokédex's:

Pikachu the mouse pokemon. The evolved form of Pichu. This pokemon Aries and expels electricity through his cheeks. It can stick it's tail in the air during a lightning storm, and be used as a lightning rod.

"Ahem." Professor cleared his voice. "Kyra step forward please it is your turn." The Professor said.

"Um… excuse me Professor?" Anne said.

"Yes, Anne?" The Professor asked. Anne looked really shy all of the sudden. This make Kya wonder about Anne's behavior.

"Uh… I was wondering if I can be Kyra partner?" Anne asked. As she hopped out of Kyra's arms. Which shocked everyone but the Professor was intrigued

"Anne, it's a nice suggestion, but you don't have an experience in your new form. I know I said you can come along with us until I help you get home Anne. Me and Ash are going to challenge all eight gym leaders in my home region to earn badges so me and Ash can enter the Indigo League."

"Aw, come on Kyra please I want go along with you and stay by your side. Plus I know martial arts so at least I can defend myself." Anne gave her a pleading look. Kyra sighed as she said "alright I'll let you be my temporary partner until we get you home." Kyra said.

"Yeah!" Anne cheered.

"That means you'll have a lot of training to do to catch up to the staters my siblings and friends have. If you want to compete in gym battles." Kyra said.

Anne just looked horrified, she never liked hard work or responsibility. She always pick the easy way. Now she had no choice but to help Kyra by training and getting stronger to compete in Gyms. But, she owes Kyra for helping her so she nodded at Kyra as they reach a understanding.

"Might I suggest using one of the pokeball's in your pocket since one is connected to Anne, plus I don't have any more empty Pokeballs to give you." Professor Oak said.

Kyra took out the blue pokeball as it glowed as brightly as before and before she could do anything. Anne tap the ball as she was sucked into the pokeball. It wobbled for a bit as it stopped then clicked to notify the capture. Then the pokeball burst opened to reveal Anne again.

"Pikachu is right that pokeball is like a cage. I rather stay out in the open." Anne said. That made most of them chuckle (except Gary and Drake) As Kyra and Leaf got out there Pokédex's:

Froakie the Bubble Frog Pokemon. It secretes flexible bubbles from its chest and back. The bubbles reduce the damage it would otherwise take when attacked.

"You got an impressive move set Anne." Kyra said which made Anne blush.

"Really, because we're I'm standing it's pretty average." Drake said. Anne just glared at Drake.

"Oh, there is something I want to give you Kyra." Professor Oak got out a pokeball in his pocket. "Since Anne is not use to battling in her mew body. I want to give you another Pokemon so it can help Anne train and teach her to battle." The Professor said.

"Lucky." Leaf whispered.

"What that's not fair Gramps why does she get two!" Gary shouted as he glared at Kyra seeing it was unfair

"Gary! Anne needs a Pokemon partner to help her adjust to her new body. So it can teach her to fight." The Professor scolded his Grandson.

Drake thought that his little sister always gets special treatment. Even when they were younger father favored Kyra since she is the youngest.

Kyra stepped forward as she grabbed the pokeball as she pressed the button to release the Pokemon that was inside the pokeball. It revealed to be a small brown fox pokemon an Eevee.

"So cute!" Leaf and Serena said in union.

"Hello Eevee, my name is Kyra. I'm going to be your trainer. I need your help to train Anne and for her to get use to her new body. Since Anne the Froakie was originally human but got turn into a Pokemon." Kyra explained.

Then Anne jumped on the table next to Eevee which stsrtled the evolutionary Pokemon. "I'm Anne, by the way." Anne introduce herself to Eevee.

Eevee stared at Kyra and Anne's faces as they show no signs of malice.

"I'll help you guys." Eevee said. Anne and Kyra smiled at Eevee. Kyra and Leaf got out there Pokédex's:

Eevee the Evolutionary Pokemon, It has the ability to alter the composition of its body to suit its surroundings.

Type: Normal

Ability: Run Away

Hidden Ability: Adaptability (Note: Hidden Ability unlocked.)

Sex: Male

Nature: Mild (Note: The Nature can change after evolution.)

Moves (Tackle, Growl)

"Welcome to the team Eevee." Kyra said as she returned Eevee. Kyra and Anne went back in line.

With all the Pokemon and trainers antiquated, as well as all the equipment handed out, the Professor saw it suitable to bring it to an end. Daisy, at this point left the room, she could only stay for the meet and greet as she had Pokemon to feed.

"Trainers. Now is time for you to set off on your on your journey with your partners, into the world of Pokemon." The Professor concluded, and with that, the six trainers were allowed to leave. Both Drake and Gary returned there Pokemon respectively, before setting off, not bothering to speak… Drake at least.

"Hey, gramps, tell the family I said bye." Gary shouted as he walked out. Ash, Kyra, Serena, Leaf, Anne, and the Pokemon sweat dropped, all there mothers told them to return home before leaving, and they want to see them one last time. With that the quartet walked out side of the lab.

Once out side, they saw Gary's red convertible with an entire leading squad in with him, driving off with speed, causing the group to sweat drop again.

"Since when does Gary have a car?" A bewildered Serena asked.

"Or a Cheer leading squad?" Ash asked, in the same tone.

"I didn't know that he could drive. Usually where I come from you had to be 16 years old to get your driver's license. Here you get to drive when your 10." Anne said with stars in her eyes. Kyra sighed knowing that Anne might be jumping to conclusions.

"No Anne, it most likely one of the cheerleader's car, They must have let Gary ride in their car since he's Professor Oaks grandson and wanted to travel with him since they believe he going to win the league." Kyra explained with the same tone as the others.

"Well, we just going have to beat him at the league then." Anne said with determination.

"That actually make a lot of sense." Leaf replied, in the same tone. After about a minute , most of them recovered from the shock (except Anne who wasn't shock at all just surprised) and decided it was best to head home like their mothers wanted.

"Okay guys, why don't we meet up at the entrance to route one before we start our journey." Ash suggested and the girls all agreed. Serena then remembered her thought from the previous night, about traveling with one or both of them. With that, they parted ways…

After the left the lab, Ash tried to talk and bond with Pikachu. Even though he agreed to give Ash a chance, he still didn't fully trust the raven haired boy. Kyra decided to release Eevee to get to know him and Anne. It wasn't long before they reached their house. Ash had his hand on the handle and was about to enter when a sudden thought entered his head. Ash let go of the handle, and turned to Pikachu, kneeling down to Pikachu's eye level.

"Okay Pikachu, your about to meet my mother. I promise she's a good person, but if she touches you, can you please save the shock for me afterwards?" Ash asked. Pikachu thought it over, if Ash is good then so must be his mother. Pikachu found these terms acceptable."

"Fine, as long as she doesn't hurt me." Pikachu agreed. Ash smiled and with that Ash stood up and put his hand on the handle. Kyra did a similar fashion towards Anne and Eevee. "Listen guys, your about to meet my mother. I want the both of you to be on your best behavior. That means you two don't attack her if she tries to touch you understand." Kyra said in a serious voice.

"Don't worry Kyra, I may be a Pokemon now but I'm no savage. You have nothing to worry about." Anne reassured her.

"I'll keep an eye on Anne so she won't cause a scene. Eevee said. It was to make sure nothing went wrong." Anne was insulted at Eevee accusation causing the blue frog to glare at the brown fox. Eevee was unaware of Anne glaring at him. Kyra breathed easily as Ash turned the handle to open the door.

As they entered the house, they turned to see Delia and Drake in a tight hug. Drake saw his younger brother and sister as he frowned at them.

"Ok Mum, I best be going." Drake told her as he broke the hug. When Delia let go, Drake walked towards the door, and as he did he grabbed his bag, swinging it over one shoulder and he came face with Ash and Kyra.

"Guess this is goodbye for now Drake."Ash told him as he offered his hand. "Have a good journey with your Charmander." Kyra said. Drake looked at Ash's open gesture. Is he just stupid, he and Kyra stole all of their father's attention, and now he and Kyra expects to make it as trainers. Then Drake thought again, realized their was no reason to put on bad terms. With that, hesitantly accepted the handshake and for the first time in a long time, Ash felt like his brother actually accepted him. Kyra smiled at the scene thinking her brother kindness was still there like it used to be when they were young. They never really knew what Drake's problem was with them, but they were happy they were making progress it's a start. Delia also smiled at the scene, she knows why Drake holds his feelings towards both Ash and Kyra, but she is happy that they seem to be making bridges. With that, Drake ended the handshake and left on the journey. Delia had to dry her eyes as her eldest child left.

"Ash, Kyra." Delia spoke drawing their attention. "Which starters did you two pick?"

"Hi my name is Anne. I'm Kyra's starter and partner." Anne revealed herself to Delia.

"Oh, my goodness! That Pokemon can talk!" Delia said in shock. Kyra explained to her mother how she meet Anne, save her from a Pincer, and her predicament. Delia was very understanding about the whole situation. Kyra also introduced Eevee to her mum. She explained that the Professor gave her Eevee to help Anne train. Since she'll have to fight in this body.

"Now listen Anne and Eevee I want you to look after Kyra and protect her for me. Since she and Ash get into troublesome situations." Delia said in a knowing tone. As she picked Anne in one arm and scratched Eevee behind the ear when she extended her arm. They both seem to enjoy the company of her mum which surprised Kyra.

"Mum come on! Not all the time!" Kyra and Ash said simultaneously. This made Anne chuckle at the scene. Delia set both Anne and Eevee down. Pikachu then revealed himself to Delia.

"I got the best starter there is mum. I got a Pikachu." Ash said happily exclaimed as he presented his mouth Pokemon. Delia smiled and got down on her knees to eye level. She extended her arm and scratched him behind the ear. Ash, Kyra and Anne saw this and flinched, they remembered what happened when Ash tried this and it didn't end well, all Ash could do was hope Pikachu sticks to the agreement they made.

"A Pikachu?" Delia questioned. "I thought the starters was Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle."

"Normally they are, but since I went second to last Pikachu was the only one left." Ash explained. "But I wouldn't have it any other way." From that point on, Delia got away from Pikachu and while she made a general chat while collecting Ash's backpack when he accidently left it behind when running off to the lab.

"Ok Ash, I packed a few things for your journey." Delia explained as she passed the backpack over, it felt like a ton of bricks. Kyra knew what it feels like since her backpack felt the exact same thing. "A fresh change of clothes, in case your current ones get dirty; your sleeping bag, as I can only imagine you'll be sleeping outside some nights; a packed lunch, as I know how hungry you can get; a first aid box, for both you and your pokemon…" Ash, Kyra, Anne, Eevee, and Pikachu sweater dropped, they all knew only a mother can pack like that.

"Okay mum, I've got it." Ash told her as he put his backpack properly. "Me and Kyra should get going. We promise Serena and Leaf we'd meet up before we set off." "We don't want to keep them waiting." Kyra said. Delia nodded as Ash and Kyra made his way towards the door, with Pikachu, Anne, and Eevee following behind.

"Kyra you can go ahead there is something I need to talk with Ash in private." Delia said.

"Okay mum." Kyra said as she, Anne and Eevee left her Mum and brother Ash to talk in private.

"Ash." Delia called as her son turned to her, she had one last thing to suggest to him…"

At the entrance of route 1, Serena, Kyra, and Leaf were waiting, Serena had since returned Fennekin, although Leaf had her bike with her and Bulbasaur was in her basket. Kyra had returned Eevee into his pokeball as Anne was next to her waiting. As Ash came running up he spotted the three girls, Pikachu was shortly behind Ash.

"See you later, again." Leaf teased.

"Yeah, sorry about that." Ash replied, as he scratched the back of his head. The four friends looked at each other, none of them wanting to say goodbye, but they know they have too. After about five minutes, Leaf spoke up.

"Ok guys, I'll see you around." Leaf told them and with that they each gave gave her a goodbye hug. Serena was saddened, there goes her chance to travel with Leaf. Once they withdrew from the hugs, Kyra, Ash, and Serena said there goodbye's to the hyper active girl, as she jumped on her bike, riding off into route 1, leaving Kyra, Ash and Serena.

Again, the three were silent for a little bit, almost three minutes. Serena realized this is her last chance to ask, and she tried to, although the words stuck in her throat and she lost her voice. Ash saw this, and remembered what his mother told him before he left. Thinking about Whether he should should do it or not, he looked towards his little yellow partner. Noticing Ash's confliction, Pikachu decided to add his opinion.

"Do it." Pikachu told him with a nod. Ash took a deep breath, if his mothers right, then this would be a good thing to do, whereas if she's wrong, then this will be really embarrassing… Kyra gave them a knowing look. Anne was just confused of what was going to happen next.

"Hey Serena…" Ash finally spoke. This shattered Serena's heart, he and Kyra were about to leave and she can't bring herself to ask the question. "Why don't we travel together."

Kyra's Pokemon: Anne (Froakie) Jolly Female, Eevee Mild Male

Ash's Pokemon: Pikachu Quirky Male
