Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Ace Attorney. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own AA; Nintendo and a few others do.
Athena was nervous. Not just because it was a big case, no, those were more or less easily said and done with a few hundred words… No. She was tired more and more of dealing with smaller cases. They were nice but they lacked the meat and enjoyment of the big times, it was just more and more terrifying to him at the end of the day.
Life still seemed to get more and more terrifying. So many cases and so little to try and do at the end of the day. it became stressful and thankless work for everyone when she had to deal with so little and so much.
She looked over the new files on her desk with such a new appreciation for it all and yet a wave of anger at the fact all of them were still cases that were not as large as what she expected in her career at the end of the day.
It would be nice to try to get them to relax and calm down at the end of the day. It was just too much to try and process all at the same time if anything. All it did was make it more stressful at the end of the day to focus upon than anything they had whipped up.
Such things annoyed her to a massive degree and it was not hard to see why.
There was still a rise in crime that would have bothered her to a degree if she was a police officer… But considering she was not one? It hit very close to the wrong cord at the end of the day and age. It was clear more and more if anything they'd be able to conjure something up and get everyone to relax.
It wouldn't work, not at least the way she wanted and not without repercussions at the moment. It was a lot harder to try and not scream into the void if not for the fact that Athena was well aware of her shortcomings. She was well aware of what people wanted and would expect of her if not for nothing. The more time and effort spent on pointless busywork? The more she could deal with at the same time, hard? Yes, enjoyable?
Well, that depends on if one found paperwork to be as welcome a sight as possible which was not at all often so she doubted it mattered much. Her clients weren't exactly all winners when it came to it and she couldn't afford to be picky about who got picked and would continue to get picked at the end of the day.
There was a pause before the phone was picked up and she realized that it was one of her clients. She quickly gripped it and slowly set it down, looking around the room as if she was awaiting another one to walk in while she was busy.
It was utterly exhausting to her and would continue to be until the end of her career which didn't seem to be anytime soon if she managed to be good at her job a little while longer. So much could be done and so much could be handled but it was clear to her that if she didn't get to relax soon, she'd probably be busy pulling her hair out at the moment and just continue doing so at the time being.
All of it became harder to try and deal with, and all of it became a lot odder to deal with and she was unable to deal with it at the day's end. There was nothing more or nothing less that she had to deal with besides the fact that she was confused, very confused, and very annoyed at the moment.
Still? Such was life and life seemed good if one knew where and how to deal with it all.
She blinked and slowly sat back down, tired but not without good reason. She had to continue to move forwards or she'd drown at the time in this life, this market.
She was interrupted by the client who started telling her what was going on and what she could expect. She eagerly began to jot down details.
Author Notes
Phew. The first chapter is done! I want to try and point out that this story won't entirely follow the series. The next chapter will be 900-6500 words and show more about the client and their case and such. Until the 2-10 months and such, Lighting Wolf is out!
P.S: Next chapter will hopefully be a LOT longer and such, until then? Lighting Wolf is out!
