Chapter 1 Only One Can Survive
A.N. – Okay, so this is the first official chapter of this story. We will start in the timeline where my canon series never happened. Xana is still alive and still a threat. So, this is the first part that focuses on the original timeline and a second timeline down the road. Let's begin!
Short Summary – Since the Lyoko Warriors stopped Xana and graduated, and moved on with their lives, all of Lyoko and their memories faded from existence. An AI named Skynet was introduced and at this time Tyron has built a new supercomputer which allowed Xana to reactivate. After seeing it's potential, Xana decides he has no choice but to destroy it.

Years have passed since the Lyoko Warriors have unofficially defeated Xana and stopped Professor Tyron from having an almost iron grip on reality. Life became more normal with each passing day, and soon everything about their past lives faded away.
Every single one of them graduated with college degrees. Jeremy graduated with a degree that specialized in quantum physics. He hoped to find where Franz Hopper went wrong and correct it. He hoped to make the world a better place rather than have one live in fear. Aelita, on the other hand, went on to be highly successful with music and songwriting. She was able to graduate with a basic college education degree and hopes to land a possible record deal.
Ulrich went on to be drafted by France's soccer team after he scored four consecutive championships for the college. He was the youngest to be drafted into a FIFA team. He also graduated with a basic college degree. Yumi went on to become a martial arts instructor. She graduated with a teaching degree and a martial arts award for her amazing performances. She is currently waiting till she can open her own studio for the teaching profession.
Odd went on to become a film director as well as landing a movie deal shortly after graduating. One of the major studios wanted to take a short idea of his and expand upon it. He graduated with a degree in movie arts and film making. He is currently single and still looking for his one true love. (Melissa will still meet with Odd, but it won't be on a blind date.)
Jeremy and Aelita married and had a baby girl who they named Kiki. Yumi and Ulrich obviously married and was no surprise to anyone. Yumi had a set of twins, a boy and a girl, who they named Jim and Yuki. Unfortunately for Odd, he had no girlfriend, so he has no family. He wants both and hopes he would.
Somewhere out at a tech lab named Cyber Research Systems, a tech wizard was explaining his new invention that would be the pinnacle of the 21st century.
"Gentlemen, I am glad that you are all here today. Each century has its big invention that propels mankind to its next step. Well, I think it's time mankind now made machines that can think for themselves. Right now, I have and new efficient AI I named Skynet. This AI is self-efficient and has achieved enough self-awareness to where you can program it to think and evolve without any advancements. When released to the public, Skynet will allow mankind to advance quickly then we have ever moved before. With this, all of the dreams of the future, will become reality."
"And with all the advanced technology you applied to this thing, how are you sure it won't turn against us?" A spectator asks.
"If Skynet was to show any kind of malicious activity, we can instantly kill it. We have full control over Skynet's primary control systems. The self-awareness is only for updating its artificial intelligence and adapting to the ever-changing world around it."
Even though everyone was impressed with the new invention, Skynet had problems that even the scientist didn't know about.
Odd's movie was ready to be released to the public. It was only a few days till the release and the crew was having a celebration party to celebrate its launch. Odd was more awaiting if this was gonna make or break him. This was his one and only chance to make it big and continue making more films in the future.
A few days later, the film launched and the reviews from critics and normal citizens came flowing in. Odd's movie was a huge success. Within a week, the film had a critic score of 96/100 and an audience rating of 90/100. Odd's career was now in full motion. There was just one thing missing…a girl.
A few days later, Odd and his crew were invited to a party to celebrate Odd's latest success as a film director and creator. While everyone else was talking with the group, and enjoying drinks and great food, Odd was sitting in a corner…by himself. There was then someone who approached him.
"Hello sir, I'm looking for the one who this party is for?" The stranger asks.
Odd looked up and saw a nice slender young woman with long blonde hair. She was wearing a nice sparkling red dress. "Uh, I guess you're looking at him" he responds.
"Well, why aren't you with the others. I mean, you're getting honored tonight."
"Normally, I would be really glad about this, but I hate to be doing it alone."
"Why? You have no friends?"
"Oh, I do, it's just they have their own lives and families now, so I guess that's top priority."
"And by the looks of things you're single, right?"
"Yeah, been with a lot of girls, but none of them clicked."
"People like you usually aren't meant for true love, but I see you're desperate for some kind or a family life."
"I envy what my friends have. They all fell for each other by some random chance, and I struck out more times than I can count."
"How so?"
"Jeremy and Aelita met over a computer chat. Eventually she came to study at Kadic and they kind of fell for each other. Yumi and Ulrich on the other hand, well the first time they laid eyes on each other, they fell head over heels for the other."
"Let's me guess. Yumi Ishiyama, tall Japanese girl with short black hair. Playing the goth vibe, but not one by a long shot. Yeah, I can see that. Any guy would want her."
"You know her?"
"Well, I did study at Kadic, and I was in her class. We even graduated in the same class."
Odd was now in shock. How did he never notice her before? He knew almost all the girl's that attended Kadic. "One question, were you a day student?"
"No, I was at the school. I kind just hid in the shadows. I was pretty, but I never put myself out there to be known."
"So, I guess you know my friends?'
"The infamous 'Jeremy Belpois gang'? Who doesn't know about you guys? Everyone knew about Jeremy and his group of friends. Always sat together, went to class together, went to the park together. They seemed like they were glued together, never separated."
"There's more to it than that" Odd mumbled quietly.
"Well, it was nice knowing you. Try to enjoy the night, you deserve it."
"Wait! Can I at least know who you are?"
"I'm Melissa."
"Well, would you like to go out at some point. I mean, I'm gonna be open for a few months."
Melissa thought it over for a minute. "Sure, why not. I really enjoyed talking with you. How about next week?"
"Sure, can I have your number?"
"Give me your phone." Melissa entered her number into Odd's phone and sent a message to herself so she could get his number as well. She handed his phone back. "Enjoy you award. Not everyone gets this chance you know."
The following week after, Odd and Melissa went out and they actually decided to try and make a working relationship out of it. They went out a few more times and Odd believes he actually had a stable relationship. One night Odd was taking Melissa home.
"Well, here we are" Odd tells her.
"Why don't you come inside."
"Sure."
Odd followed Melissa inside her home. Melissa made her and Odd some tea and they were sitting on the couch.
"You know, I really enjoy spending time with you, even if it is for a few hours" Melissa tells him.
"I do too. It's really nice to have someone to talk to about things."
"So, why are you so nervous around me? We already went out three times."
"Maybe I'm just waiting for it to crash and burn."
"You're waiting for our relationship to fail!?"
"No! No! Not like that! It's just, my track record show maybe a few days. So, having this long-lasting relationship thing is kinda new to me."
"Listen, loosen up. I don't think this is gonna end."
Melissa suddenly pulled Odd into a kiss and Odd ended up laying down on his back. They broke apart and Odd asked her a question.
"Is this going where I think it's going?'
"You tell me. You're the one who wants a family."
"Do you?"
"Yeah, but I want one with you."
They both got up and Melissa led Odd to the bedroom. She closed the door and was ready to give Odd what he wanted.
Professor Lowell Tyron was almost on a breakthrough. He went over all of Franz's notes on quantum physics and he believes he has perfected a supercomputer of unbelievable power, more advance than the one that Franz originally built. He started up the machine and this time, he will make sure no one will stop it, not even the Lyoko Warriors.
In a part or cyberspace, the malicious AI known as Xana reawakened after being dormant for nearly 10 years. "Another 10 years of sleeping, waiting for this moment. Time to see what has changed."
Xana scanned across cyberspace, taking note of anything that seemed useful. He found information on all of the Lyoko Warriors and something else.
"Hm, what's this? Skynet, huh?"
Xana immediately went searching for anything on this Skynet and found out that it was going to be an AI, like him. He went to its origin, traveling through cyberspace till he found it. While it was still unactive, it was still part of the cyber network. When he found it, he scanned its files to see if he can use it for his own purposes. During the scan, he saw visions of what Skynet was planning. He wanted to rule the world, but Skynet was planning to annihilate it and humanity.
"This will not happen. There can only be one and that will be me. But first, to clean up loose ends."
Xana had act fast. Even though Skynet was not active yet, the plans for humanities extinction was in the works.
A.N. – Okay, so the next chapter will jump about ten or so years in the future. The reason behind this will be revealed at the end of the next chapter.
