Merlin's Kisses
By Unknown Book
Chapter 6: Epilogue
The kiss might've been a little premature on Merlin's part. After all, there were still many things he'd yet to tell Arthur. After kissing, hugging, and thanking Arthur profusely, Merlin remembered all he had to share.
That night, Arthur, Merlin, the knights, Gwen, and Gaius huddled together over dinner in Arthur's room. Merlin shared everything, from the moment he arrived in Camelot, to the events of the past few weeks. There were tears, laughter, and worry; but surprisingly, no yelling. It took three full days to discuss everything, with small breaks for sleeping sprinkled throughout.
When the guests finally leave on the third night, Arthur is alone with Merlin. He releases the thoughts that have plagued him. He tells Merlin about his jealousy, and how he yearns for Merlin's affection. He tells him about his doubts; and how he has always felt he never knew the "real Merlin." In return, Merlin shares his many fears, and the helplessness he's felt for so long.
They both assure each other that from this moment on, things will change.
Three weeks later the laws on magic are publicly changed, and a ceremony is held for Merlin to become Court Sorcerer. Despite his new position, Merlin demands he continues some of his servant duties.
Merlin and Arthur haven't shared the news of their relationship; and yet, somehow, the whole kingdom knows. The council tries to throw fits about it, but with Arthur's authority, and Merlin's sass, they can never get a word in.
There's still a lot that must be done. They've heard about Morgana's latest unrest; it seems she doesn't believe Camelot's new changes. Merlin and Arthur decide to find a nonviolent way to convince her of Albion's rising. It will take time, but they will figure it out together.
There's also the matter of the other kingdoms. Arthur has invited all the other royals to peace negotiations in two months' time.
Merlin will proudly sit at his side, at the table for once.
As for the knights, they'll always be there to support their two friends. They'll also find many other things to bet on, and Camelot's normal chaos will ensue.
As for Merlin's kisses, there are plenty of those to go around, and now that everything is out in the open, Arthur will receive many.
As for Gwaine's bet, he ended up paying a large sum to the other knights.
In the hustle of Camelot's new changes, Merlin and Arthur are too busy to notice as Gwaine 'ups the ante.'
"Who can get the most 'Merlin Kisses'?"
The End.
