If there was anything Satine hated more than the Death Watch, it would be Senate Gala's. However, as Duchess of Mandalore, Satine sadly had to attend to some of them, at least she did not have to go to a lot of them as her friends Bail and Padme had to, but still, the parties were so insufferable at times.

Though, she was still required to attend this one because apparently, the Chancellor had a big announcement. Although, she does not know why that includes her because Mandalore is not even part of the Republic and never plans to be, even with all the insisting from the Chancellor.

So here she was, standing on the balcony staring at the night sky (or that's what it would appear to be if it weren't for all the smog caused by the vehicles) bored and ready to leave already.

It saddens her though that she has to be on Coruscant for a Senate Gala, when she would rather be on Coruscant with her cyare, but no, her duty calls and she never has and never will ignore it, even if at times it is insufferable and depressing.

A hand touches her shoulder, snapping her out of her thoughts. She quickly turns around, spooked, and sees her cyare smiling.

"Sorry for scaring you, Duchess, but I fancy seeing you here." Obi-Wan smiles and Satine's world suddenly brightens.

"It's alright, Ben, I was merely thinking," Satine assures. "Although, I am quite curious as to why you are here?"

"Oh well, Jedi business and stuff." Obi-Wan shrugs. "It was quite unbearable before I found you here. So many useless talking and rich snobs." Satine laughs at him as he exaggerates.

"Well then, you and I can agree on that." Satine huffs. "I have such distaste for these sort of things, although I am a Duchess and sometimes it is required of me."

"Yes, but you don't love everything that comes with the job I'm afraid." Obi-Wan frowns, Satine studies him and the sentence feels as if it was meant for the both of them.

"I'm afraid so." Satine ponders.

"Enough with this somber mood, would you join me on a date?" Obi-Wan asks, holding out his hand. Satine warmly smiles and gracefully takes his hand as he leads her away from all the noise in the main chamber. He smiles at her mischievously as he leads her through corridors and entryways.

"How do you know where you are going?" Satine inquires and Obi-Wan lets out a laugh.

"Master Jinn was almost always attending these Senate Gala's as a gratification from the former Chancellor for saving a planet or people," Obi-Wan explains. "I never did care for them; it was always very noisy so oftentimes I would drift away from the main chamber."

Satine looks at Ben while he leads her through the different passageways excitedly, it was almost as if he looked like the young man she met all those years ago on Mandalore, less burdened and more carefree than he was now.

"And then one day, I found a wonderful and quiet spot away from everyone else," Obi-Wan says as he stops at a hidden doorway, covered with vines and red roses. "I haven't told a soul about this place and I'm honestly astonished that no one has found it yet."

Obi-Wan pulls aside the vines, revealing a garden, filled with flowers and fireflies. She puts her hand to her mouth in amazement as she has never witnessed something so beautiful as this. Sure, Mandalore has many beautiful gardens, but this, this almost looks like it came out of a fairytale book her mother would read to her before bed.

There are vines and moss covering the antique walls, and flowers sprouting through the cracks in the walls and up from the floor. A weeping tree in the corner, its leaves turquoise, and fireflies flittering in between the leaves of the tree. A fountain of water is in the middle of the room, lily pads floating across the crystal glittering water. Crickets chirp and birds sing in melody, butterflies flutter across the room, and the ceiling is covered in the winged insects.

"It's beautiful." Satine manages to say, too speechless to say anything else. Ben smiles warmly and gently takes her hand and leads her to a glass-stained window that is tilted open, revealing the moonlight.

He grins at her and pushes it open, she gasps as she sees dozens of stars and the moon shine in the sky. Yet earlier, she was on the balcony and she could not see this magnificent sight, it must be the magic of the room then, or perhaps because Ben is with her so the sky shines brightly.

She quickly spins around and hugs Ben and he returns the hug. "Thank you so much for showing me this. It's beautiful." Satine whispers.

"I'm glad you like it." Ben smiles. "Care to spend the night with me?"

"Gladly." Satine smiles back. Ben takes her hand and leads her to a patch of grass directly in the middle of the moonlight and the stars clearly visible with their twinkling brightness. They sit down on the grass and Satine leans her head on Obi-Wan's shoulder as they star gaze.

"I love you, Ben." Satine softly says as she kisses him on the cheek, Ben takes her hand in his and holds it, and she squeezes back warmly.

"And I love you, Satine." Ben fondly states. Satine smiles and leans her head back down on his shoulder. And this is how she spends the rest of her night, peacefully spending her time with Ben in the beautiful and almost mythical garden. Turns out that attending the Senate Gala wasn't so bad after all.

Hope you guys liked this! I know that a garden like this probably would never exist in a senate building, and the stars probably wouldn't only be visible through one room, but hey, it's for the plot. lol! I also just loved writing the small bit about the stars coming out because Ben is there! SWEET! I plan on finishing all the prompts for Satine Week, even though I'm like 4 days behind now. XD Have a great day everyone! Love y'all 3000 and may the force be with you!
