After enough family reunion fluff, Chara was both very anxious but also very happy to see their mother welcome them home again. They were right to pair up with that child, but it would get complicated very soon. While the child was not that eager to go home, Chara was unsure if they would keep them safe in the Underground. The child was a human after all, and although very gentle and caring in nature, Chara could be very much their demise, as was the case with Asriel. While the Fallen felt like déja-vu, Toriel was happily fixing some dinner, working hard on the recipes she held dear in her already rich library. Frisk shook Chara off their thoughts.

"Is something bothering you, Chara? If it is you seeing your mother again I am sorry for -"

"I will certainly have you pay for that one later, but thank you very much, Frisk."

"You ... you're not mad?"

"Do you think I should? Oh, Asriel must have told you about me being grumpy all the time"

"Yes, something like that."

"That little runt, f I ever see him again, I'll hit him so hard he will pass out ... Oh wait he is dead."

"Chara, no."

"Oh yes, I will, and you too maybe, but first ..." Chara went for planting a kiss on Frisk's cheek instead of hitting them, which is why they ended up kissing their scar.

"I was going to be nice, but I ended up kissing a wound I inflicted on you, talk about Karma" Frisk took Chara's arm before they finish talking, kissed their old wounds as if they were patching them up, and smiled.

"Child, aren't you eager to kiss me all of a sudden? Why so lovey-dovey?" A Fallen giggling was never a good thing, they were probably up to something nasty, but Frisk did not mind. They thought they should let them know they would take hits for them. If not for Chara, they would die to Flowey, or any other monster in the Underground. Frisk's smile grew wider, weirding off Chara a bit. The Fallen did not give up their original plan and planted that kiss on the cheek the way they wanted it to happen. Frisk mumbled a thank you before blushing a bit and went for a tight hug.

"Thank you for keeping me alive so far, grumpy child," said Frisk in a faux Chara voice.

"No, thank you for making me alive again, Frisk. I am not sure for how long I will be though," responded Chara in all honesty, worrying Frisk about the last bit of them speaking.

"You too! Dinner is ready! Wash your hands please !" yelled Toriel at the bonding duo from downstairs.

While they both descended the stairs, smelling pleasant odors, Chara whispered to a now-hungry human :

"Are we still going to tell Mother about leaving tonight?"

"I think I want you to stay with her, Chara, she misses you so much"

"Child, there is no way I am leaving you alone. You are still not ready" Frisk nodded and gestured to Chara to hush as they approached the table

"You too look very close, any chance you dating each other?" Toriel was not the kind to barge into rooms or drop bombs at mealtime, but she could not retaun herself of noticing how cute those two humans look. Chara got interested in the floor and was instantly silenced. Frisk blushed so hard he got redder than his SOUL and wiggled a bit awkwardly.

"Mother ... I am so sorry, I never meant to break your heart ... I"

The Fallen thought they should divert their mother's attention from feelings they have yet to comprehend. Frisk smiled and sighed at the relief, but got anxious at Chara barging into a painful subject.

"My child, I would like you to save that subject for later, your companion here -"

"Mother, it is okay, they know all of it from Asriel, I do not know how they got to see them, but they did ..."

Frisk smiled and nodded to Toriel, and mind-told Chara whatever Asriel had to say to their mother.

"Mother, As-Asriel is ..." Chara had a hard time suppressing their tears but continued anyway: "Asriel misses you Mother, and he is as sorry as I am ... for leaving you and Father alone ...They know it was hard on both of you ... and I - I am so ..." Toriel cried loudly their children name, remembered their happy days, and felt both Frisk and Chara going for another family fluff to appease her sorrow.

"It feels like this little one brought back the old days somehow" giggled Toriel, the children were saddened by the words and hugged her tighter. She responded accordingly, and the children's SOULs were so bright they warmed her heart. The mother goat felt like a mother again and invited the children to eat. They chatted about trivia in the Underground, and Toriel asked about Frisk's origins. Chara talked to both children, and explained how their SOULs were similar.

"I am happy to have you here, human. I have planned everything for your staying: your education, meals, travel, etc. You will have everything you need here. This is your new home, my child !" Toriel blurted all that, excited. She was so eager to have another child home. She noticed that and apologized to both children, while still inviting Frisk to stay at her home.

The Child hesitated to tell Chara an answer, nor ask Toriel about how to home. They did not know what they should do, so they smiled and motioned a thank you before excusing themselves to their room, followed by Chara who blew a kiss to their now content mother.

"Frisk, you have not said a thing to Mother yet!" half-yelled Chara when they were in their room.

"I could have not saddened more than she was, she is nice to me too."

"She is the best mother I've ever had ... my real parents were - wait ... that is not what we are talking about !"

"You had bad parents too?"

"Yes, those adults who made the bruises on my body."

"Mine too ... but they were not wrong! I did not do what they asked me for -"

"You mean you were ordered around and beaten anyways? Adults are scum ..."

"I was not good enough ... so I could not let your mother know we are leaving either."

"I will do something about that, Frisk -" who went for kissing Chara's cheek as chastely as a virgin? The Fallen crept a smile and went for a daring kiss on the lips. Both faces were in the fire, Frisk from confusion, and Chara from being so daring - and touching those small tasty accolades. Chara laughed it over, and so did Frisk though meekly. Both went to settle on the bed, a little nervous and absentminded from meeting lip to lip. They were back to back, Frisk had their head in the pillow and Chara played with a rebellious hair strand.

"Frisk, asleep?"

"Not yet, I cannot sleep"

"Me neither, so we should seriously plan for departing -"

"- Why did you kiss me Chara?"

"I do not know either, Frisk, but I would like to keep that going ... it feels warm ..." Frisk blushed harder at the sudden confession but holded Chara's hand nonetheless. It was the Fallen's turn to jolt at the touch but did the same. They stayed like that for a long time before going back to talking about their plan to depart Toriel's house. Chara was pleased with talking to the child while holding hands, and Frisk had trouble not blushing throughout the battle plan.

Speaking of her, she was about to check on them, but hearing about them leaving, she felt her heart constrict. With her eyes down, a dark aura enveloping her, she went for the basement while readying her fire magic. She intended to keep those children alive, she thus hurried to destroy the door underground, the only one available to exit the ruins safely.
